Loud House-Fallen Angel Chapter 1
(Note from the author: Hi! This is my first fanfic! I don't know a lot abt writing fanfics, so any feedback is appreciated! I really made this as a sort of weird way to express my ideas I've had for quite a while now. Anywho, I hope you enjoy this semi-serious fanfic!)
Chapter 1- Shadows fore and aft This chapter will briefly explain to you the diverging timeline of the world before the events of this story.
In 1938, the Spanish civil war was won by the Republicans in a crushing defeat of the Anarchist and Nationalist armies at the Second Battle of Barcelona. The Spanish would later go on to invade Fascist Portugal just prior to the invasion of Poland to prevent Germany from gaining a foothold on the Iberian Peninsula.
In 1939, Nazi Germany invaded Poland, sparking the Second Great War. The Germans quickly conquered Poland, before moving onto France and the Low countries, annihilating the British army at Dunkirk and forcing an end to the conflict in western Europe with Germany setting up Reichskommissariats in France, Belgium (including Calais), the Netherlands, and an Ordenstaat in Burgundy.
In 1941, the Nazi Armies marched past the Soviet-German border, starting the Sacred War. The Soviet Union, despite holding out for a grueling 2 years, was forced to surrender when the Germans reached the AA Line. In a humiliating peace treaty, the Soviet Union lost most of their industrial areas. The Germans set up Reichskommissariats in the Ukraine, Belorussia and the Baltics (known as Ostland), Ukraine, the Volga river (known as the Don-Wolga), Western Russia (Known as Moskowien), and the Caucasus.
The Germans proceeded to mop up their remaining enemies in the south, crushing Yugoslavia and setting up Reichskommissariats Serbien and Kroatien, and giving the broken lands of Greece to Bulgaria. Nazi hegemony over Europe had been established, only confirmed when the Soviet Union disintegrated into warlords desperately fighting for their share of the Russian wastes.
At the same time, the United States brought the Empire of Japan to it's knees in the Pacific. Increased work on the Atomic bomb had led to it being used on Tokyo, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Kyoto, Osaka, and Sapporo. Combined with naval landings in Japanese-Occupied China and the Mainland, the Empire of Japan suffered a humiliating defeat. Japan was stripped of it's empire, it's monarchy, and in it's place a democratic government was set up. However, this could not stop the weakened China from collapsing even further.
In 1950, when all was said and done, the Cold War began. Germany and America played a strange game of Ideological chess, where the battleground of newly independent nations became a race to implement Fascism or Democracy. The Americans won most nations over, limiting German influence as their once allies drifted from them. In 1959, the killing blow to the Axis was dealt when the Second Hungarian Empire and Bulgarian Empire partitioned Romania, leaving behind only a rump state in the form of the Moldavian National Congress. Italian support for the partition lead to the German-Italian war, where Italy lost control of Albania to the democratic Albanian Free State, and Germany annexed Lombardy under the pretext of it being former Austrian land. Throughout the following decades, the Wars for Russian unification raged on as both sides gambled on warlords defeating each other, only to leave them to die out when another warlord that popped up just happened to align with their ideology even more. Even in Europe, where Nazi tyranny reigned supreme, battlegrounds formed as the Reich failed to march their armies into Iberia, dealing a crushing blow to Nazi morale.
The year is now 20XX (2016-2026). The United States and Nazi Germany still remain at odds as the ideological battlegrounds shift near-constantly. Both sides are weary, but unwilling to let the other win. The collapse of the Nazis is imminent as the SS and Wehrmacht continue to remain at odds, combined with factionalism within the party itself. The U.S.A. threatens to go back to it's isolationist roots, letting democracy die across the world. The ideological front has reached across the world, and even within the 2 superpowers themselves. Only time will tell what will happen next in the world of Fallen Angels.
Dictionary for the confused:
Reichskommissariat: a Nazi-controlled government that is intended to be annexed into Nazi Germany after German colonization.
Reichsprotektorat/Reichskolonie/Reichsland: See above, except not intended to be annexed.
Reich: German translation of "Realm". Used to refer to Nazi Germany itself and the Nazi realm as a whole.
Superpower: A nation that has incredible influence across the world.
