Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, Time for another story, this one about Armored Core. Enjoy the 800-word story. I do not own Armored Core, Fromsoftware and a few others do.
Mercenaries were a dime a dozen upon Rubicon. He had been a soldier, and something like this had hurt more and more for them.
They would die, unloved… Mourned by nobody on this planet. It was where the best soldiers, the best soldiers went to die.
He had been too relaxed… He had studied on the battlefield for years, far more for such, a drifter. He had fought, not for coin.
Hell, he did not even know what he had fought for. Causes, speeches, ideologies. He had been curious now at the end of the day… Curious why he was even alive now.
Had something spared him for a reason? Was he meant to die upon the snow-frosted fields where thousands had died?
He did not know what was going on now at the end of the day. Something about this all had impressed him… But he knew he would die sooner than later.
That was fine, he would die eventually… Only a problem of when and where the dice would fall. I was ALL in the past, for now, all in the past.
Perhaps he would die here and he would have NOBODY to blame but himself.
Something like this was too much now, FAR too much at the end of the day… Something about it all had been more than amusing to the soldier, more than curious now.
He had PLENTY left to understand now at the end… Something that could not be done easily.
He would die here; it felt a LOT like this had been done now. He had a LOT MORE to deal with for now. Something about it all had been too much for now.
He had a lot more to deal with for now at the end of the day… He had a lot more to deal with for now as he cracked his fingers at the end.
Something about it all had been too much to deal with… Now and good did she relax… Not ever knowing what was occurring now… It hurt a LOT but that was simply part of something chaotic now.
It hurt a LOT to even think, to fathom such a thing. Yes. It felt ODD now and it felt VERY odd now.
He was all too much curious now at the end of the day… Something had been too much for now.
His brain hurt and he brought a hand to his helmeted head… A LOT had gone through him, a LOT more left to deal with… Something like this was just ODD now.
But he could not falter, could NOT understand it all now. He was left to deal with a LOT more than this for now at the end of the day.
All of it was curious and both ideas would come crashing down the line… He was a merc, he had a job to do at the end.
An idea like this was curious and he was a soldier, it was his job to fight… All of it just told them they would continue to think of what was growing on his mind.
He would not be able to relax… For the coming war would soon do away with what he had wanted. What he could do was nothing compared to what was already done to the planet…
Something within him told him a LOT more was coming into his mind as he relaxed once more.
He had a LOT more to try and think of what came next… Now? Now it would be up to the battlefield coming their way.
It was a LOT more chaotic knowing what was to come and a LOT more hectic not knowing where and when it would have to end.
All of it…. All their pain would end now, it HAD TO. It was just too much now for him to deal with inside and out.
He would not be able to distract himself for now. It would continue to think of it all before he fell screaming into the blackened void where he would DROWN.
He would DROWN inside the peaceful parts but THRIVE on the chaos of war.
He belonged in the fire… If he died? He would die… If he won? He would drift.
And it seemed he always drifted.
Author Notes
Phew. The first chapter is done! A few things.
I am new to Armored Core but I will be getting into the series.
This takes place DURING Fires of Rubicon but Raven will be doing their own thing.
This is from the enemy's perspective but will come off differently than the game.
The next chapter will be in 2-10 months, show more of the trip to Rubicon, and be setting up who the character sides with. Until the 900–6500-word chapter, Lighting Wolf out!
