No One's Pov

John was in Principal Darkhölme's office as he waited to get his schedule for class as today was after that he looked over his schedule, and well, he didn't get it

"So first period. This is complicated," John said.

Duncan was walking by, and John grabbed him by his shoulder.

"Hey, excuse me. Where am I supposed to go? John asked.

"I don't know. How 'bout a Wild West show Buffalo Bill?" Duncan laughs. "Or better yet, go snort some coke Scarface."

John gets angry by this and toss Duncan into the lockers and gets ready to punch him in the face.

"Mr. Hiawatha." A voice called out.

John looked to see a teacher in a lab coat with navy blue hair and blue eyes with a red shirt and tan pants along with gray tennis shoes.

"I believe you have my class second room straight down the hall." The teacher said.

"Thank you." John replied.

John went to the classroom and saw Jean and went to sit next to her.

"John this my friend Taryn Fujioka." Jean said.

John turned to see a 5 '5 attractive, dark-haired half Japanese girl with brown eyes dressed in a thin, light yellow shirt that she covered up with an equally thin pink cardigan that fastened at the top with one button revealing her shirt. She also wore dark purple pants and brown shoes.

"So Jean tells me you're from Alaska." Taryn said.

"Yes." John replied as he lowered his hat as class was about to begin as the teacher walked in, and it was the same teacher who stopped him from beating up Duncan.

"Hello there, class. I'm Mr. McCoy, I'll be subbing for Miss Carter, so before we get started today, we have a new student from today from the last frontier, Alaska. Please welcome John Hiawatha." Mr. McCoy said.

John still looked down and just waited for his first day at Bayville High to be over lucky for John. The day came and went, and it was rather boring for him.

So John decided to go feed Bart a huge piece of beef with some honey on it.

Professor X had built an enclosure for Bart to live in during my stay here, and then Bart capme, and John fed him, then he went to eat dinner with the others and then went to the Danger Room and did some training with Wolverine for a few hours until he went to bed.

Meanwhile, at a house in Deerfield, Illinois, during a thunderstorm at night inside the room of a girl with an opened book on her bed and from the looks of it, she was asleep.

She started to move in her sleep as she was dreaming she was flying through the city. She was having a good time as she was giggling.

But then she started to fall straight down to the ground and she started screaming as she got closer and closer to the ground she got ready for the impact of meeting the ground but before she could hit the ground she woke up.

She looked around and saw that she wasn't in her bedroom but in the basement of the house then her parents came down the stairs.

"What happened?" Her father asked."Were you sleepwalking?"

"No. I fell! I just…I fell through the ceiling." She replied as she was crying hysterically hugging her mother.

Meanwhile, at the X mansion- Xavier is at Cerebro.

"Computer: Discovery, Mutant signature. The second detection in this vicinity. Extrapolation complete. Identity confirmed. Name: Kitty Pryde, Residence: North Brooke, Age: 15." The robotic voice announced as Professor X took off Cerebro's helmet.

""What's that thing, Professor?" A voice called out.

Professor X then turns to see John standing in the doorway.

"This 'thing' is Cerebro. It detects the manifestation of special powers. That's how I found you." Professor X explained. "John, you should be in bed."

"I couldn't sleep because a lot of things were going through my mind, so this girl is one of us?" John asked.

"Yes, myself and Jean will be going to recruit her. You should go back to bed. You all have midterms."

"Actually I'm excluded from the midterms since I just started school yesterday . Also, Professor, if it is alright with you, if I can go with you and Jean on this mission."

"Why?" Professor X asked

"I'm just curious besides you guys and Fitzgerald. I don't know any other what you call them mutants, and I would like to help in any way I can." John answered.

"Very well." Professor X said, and John nodded.

Back at Pryde's basement

"I'm sure you were just having a nightmare." Kitty's mother said.

I don't... think so." Kitty's father said.

They all look up and see her blanket and a pillow halfway through the ceiling.

"What am I!? What's happening to me!?" Kitty asked.

At the X Mansion, Professor X was still at the Cerebro, and he pressed one of the buttons.

"Prep the blackbird." Xavier said.

It was morning at Bayville High. Some kids are making their way into the school. Kurt is rushing to school while eating a burger, then he looks at his watch, and he finds out he is late.

"Ack! Late again." Kurt said.

Kurt looks around and then teleports to only a few feet away from the door to the school. Then he rams against Ms. Darkholme.

"Ack! Miss Darkholme!" Kurt said in shock

Then, she takes his arm to look at his watch.

"Hmm, the watch isn't slow. Must be you! Another tardy Mr. Wagner, and I'm enrolling you in my after-school group." Principal Darkhölme retorted.

The door to the school opens, and Scott comes out and grabs Kurt.

"Hey, light a fire under it, kid. Your teacher sent me to look for you. Miss Darkholme." Scott said as he and Kurt walked into the school. "Stopped off for another breakfast burger gut bomb, didn't you?"

"What can I say? It's an addiction." Kurt said.

Ms. Darkholme has a very mad look on her face. Afternoon at Kitty's house. She is walking out the front door, trying not to have her parents notice her, but her mother walks in on her escape.

"Dear, I... thought we agreed that you were staying home today?" Kitty's mother asked.

"Yeah, well, like, what's the point you know? You guys don't want to talk about it, and I'll, like, totally go crazy just sitting around here." Kitty replied.

"But should you really be at school?" Kitty's mother asked.

"Kitty! Honey, where are you?" Kitty's dad called out.

"Please, mom. Dad will make me stay." Kitty begged as her Mom thought about it for a minute.

"All right, go on." Kitty's mother said.

Kitty blows a kiss and waves goodbye, heading off for school.

The Blackbird is flying right now. Xavier and Jean, along with John, are inside of it.

"Why just me and John? Why not all of us?" Jean asked.

"Because, you're the one who can connect with this girl, and John asked to come." Charles answered.

"I hope so. But how are we handling the other kid Cerebro spied out? The one in the foster home?" Jean asked.

"Yes, Lance Alverce. Let me worry about that." Charles answered. "I'd like you and John to just keep focus on Kitty's parents. Remember, you're both a model of what we're offering them. No pressure."

Jean gives a nervous laugh "And to think, I passed up a nice relaxing midterm for this."

At Kitty's house on the porch. Both parents are outside, and Jean and Charles are trying to reason with them while John watched on.

"What are you talking about? How do you know, Kitty?" Kitty's mother asked.

"You call your own daughter Kitty and not Katherine?" John asked.

John's words were met with a cold stare from both her mother and her father. Feeling a little jaded, he backed away slowly, only to feel the pressure from Charles, so he moved right back to speak with them.

"Yes, that's what she prefers. So, how do you know Kitty again?" Kitty's mother asked again.

"Please, may we come in for a moment? We'll answer all your questions and anything you need…" Jean started to say but was cut off by Kitty's dad.

"Excuse me, Miss, you can talk to us. Out here." Kitty's dad said.

"Very well, I think you know Kitty is going through a very unique transition. We simply want to help her through it." Charles explained. "Why don't you tell us about last night?"

Both parents are in shock that he knows about last night.

"Last night is none of your business. Please, just leave us alone." Kitty's father said, shutting the door on them, leaving the two outside

"Huh, next time, let's just call and get hung up on, less hassle." Jean remarked.

"Well, it seems like that was a bust, wasn't it, Professor?" John said.

Charles rasped his fingers together, as John used his superhuman strength, both him and the chair, down the stairs, since there was no ramp, Charles having an appreciative look on his face.

"Quite." Charles looked towards John as he placed the chair on the ground. "Also, John, how about a little recon for me along with Jean."

"Me and Jean? Recon…uuh, going undercover?" John asked.

"You and Jean need to make contact with Kitty directly at her school." Charles said.

"So, in other words, attempting to get closer to her, right?" John asked.

Slowly, John was regretting coming on this mission. He didn't want to do it anymore. He didn't think that it would be this difficult if he was honest with himself.

"Quite right. Use that stunning personality of yours, John. Toppled by your unique charm, I am sure that you'll be able to get close with her." Charles said.

"My stunning personality boils down to me being quite aloof with everyone and not caring much about the world around me." John replied

Charles understood this, but he needed John to do this regardless.

"Well, try your best regardless."Charles said.

"Aye, aye sir! Leave this to us." John did a mini salute.

Charles didn't know if he was attempting to have a joke with him or not. But John's eyes just seemed to be the usual ones, so cold and calculating, and slightly uncaring.

"Oh, also…how are you going to find her?" Jean asked.

John did a sheepish smile as he produced what appeared to be a hair scrunchy from his pocket.

"I…kinda napped this from the mother's pocket while she wasn't looking. I smelt something different, you know, with my nose and that, and smelt it being different to either of their scents." John answered.

"Jonathan…" Charles said as he looked disappointed, but John seemed uncaring.

"I don't make it a habit to pickpocket, only in emergencies such as these, and I'll be returning it to the girl." John said as Charles couldn't refute that, but still didn't like the idea very well. "Either way, I'm gonna track her down and attempt to become close with her. Shouldn't be that difficult, after all, I've got a stunning personality."

Charles released a small chuckle from his lips, glad that he had somewhat opened up at least with him. If nothing else, John was quite loyal when you earned his respect and trust.

Meanwhile, Logan is at the mansion cleaning his motorcycle. He stops dead in his tracks as if he smelt/heard something.

Meanwhile, Sabretooth is riding his motorcycle somewhere nearby.

"Sabretooth," Logan said after sniffing the air he was now on top of the mansion, looking down at Bayville.

"Wolverine," Sabretooth growls as he gets a seat he knows all too well and is near the city

Logan is getting into his uniform. He gets onto his motorcycle and speeds out of there. He passes Scott and Kurt, who are just getting back from school.

"Woah, whaz up with Logan?" Kurt asked

"That man is packing some serious attitude." Scott said.

"You want to follow him?" Kurt asked.

"Of course." Scott answered.

Then, the two ran into the garage.

"Should we take the X Van?" Kurt asked.

"Uh, a lower profile. And cooler, besides.

Scott said as he jumped into his red convertible. "You coming?"

Kurt teleports into the car. "Hit it!" He said, and the two are off.

John walked into the halls of the school that Kitty attended. The different students made it difficult to track the girl. They all had different scents, some good, some not so good. Kitty's scent itself was pretty good, though.

"Hmmm, it seems as I go this way, the scent is getting stronger…she must be around here somewhere…this is ridiculous, me posing as a student of this school, I don't even know what this place is called…good thing I swiped some essentials for later on just in case, in this bag of mine, and good thing that I was able to procure the girls school schedule, who needs mind reading powers." John thought to himself.

John tapped the school's sports bag on his hip, wading through the sea of students.

Using his tracking ability with the scent, he did his best to find the girl.

Though, since this was school, he knew that it wouldn't be so bad for him. He already dealt with one type of school, and to him, everything seemed just the same to him, even the faces of the students seemed to be the same to him as well.

As he was walking, he spotted a slender, teenage girl with a petite figure. She has medium-length, brown hair tied up in a ponytail with layers hanging over her face, one on each side. She also has fair skin and blue eyes.

John furrowed his eyebrows, sniffed the scrunchy, then sniffed the air, checking if it was her for sure, and then he confirmed it inside of himself.

"That's her alright, smells quite nice actually…well, at least she doesn't smell like a wet dog like Logan does…best not ever tell him that…but yeah, I found my target Time to make contact…ooh by the Great Spirits, I might be regretful of this mission now…this is incredibly awkward for me…but breaking into this school is quite easy...well, I am a teenager and all, and a few well placed lies can go a long way...still...whatever, got a mission to do." John thought to himself.

John knew he had to do it, at least for Charles himself.

As John was going to go and make contact, he saw that two girls were behind her, ready to push her into the locker. So, using his speedy animal trait, he rushed and slammed his hand on the locket beside the girl, giving them all a fright thin, light yellow shirt that she covers up with an equally thin pink cardigan that fastens at the top with one button revealing her shirt. She also wears blue jeans that do not fully go down to the bottom of her legs, the jean also have two thick, orange stripes at the bottom. She wears slight platform brown sandals and accessories with a beaded necklace that has three beads around her neck and a fourth one hanging down. At school, she also had a small brown backpack.

"Well now, you girls wouldn't happen to be trying to push her into the locker, would you?" John asked.

The girls looked flabbergasted, troubled on how to respond.

The girl, whom John knew as Kitty, also seemed shocked too.

John, however, leaned forward and held a small grin on his lips, almost toothy showing his only two sharp fangs.

"You see, I'm kinda new here, and even I can see bullies. If you don't want me to become…scary, then I suggest leaving the girl alone, so why don't you go and do that? Attempting to push her into the locker for…what reason exactly?" John asked.

"I-I, well…" One of the girls attempted to give an explanation, just feeling embarrassed that they were caught. Not even caring about the fact that he was a new student.

John cleared his throat and then released a roar it sounded like a lion's roar, which it very well could be thanks to his powers, the females ran away from Kitty and John, leaving the pair alone in a pretty deserted part of the school, literally no life being around.

"How did you do that?" Kitty asked.

"I can imitate the sounds of animals." John answered, playing it off nonchalantly, not wanting to reveal much about it just yet, not wanting to frighten her either.

"Well, it was cool nonetheless, I was really like, impressed!" Kitty said excitedly.

"Well, thank you. The name is John Hiawatha." John introduced himself as he took off his hat.

"O-Oh, my name's Katherine Pryde. Everyone calls me Kitty, though." Kitty introduced herself.

"Kitty, like a pretty little kitten. I like it, it suits a beautiful girl like you."John said with a smile.

His voice slowed down, sounding a little sultry. Even John surprised himself with how low it sounded.

Kitty's eyes fluttered as she stared at him, her cheeks slightly darkening red, never having someone openly 'flirt' with her before.

"S-So, you're new here then?" Kitty asked

"Just transferred today. I just moved here from Sitka." He fibbed and lifted his body off the locker. "I've got a dilemma, though. I'm supposed to be in the gym right now, but for the life of me, I don't know where the changing rooms are, and I'm afraid I've gotten lost."

"Oh really? Me too! Well, not the lost thing, but the gym thing. I'm kinda late myself, but could we go together?" Kitty asked, proposing that seemed to be the best way of going about it.

"Yes, of course." John replied.

Kitty melted at the sound of his voice, how proper it sounded, how strong, yet full of confidence, and exuded inviting intentions.

"Y-Yeah…like, follow me." Kitty said.

"Okay, pretty Kitty." John remarked.

Kitty's cheeks turned even redder as she pushed her locker door closed and then walked off together with the young boy towards the changing rooms.

As they walked, John put his hat back on as he kept on his usual face while Kitty kept looking up at him. She knew that he was probably the same age as her. However, what captured her the most was his baby blue eyes, how they appealed to her the most, like a sea of blue she could get lost in but she could tell it also the eyes of hurt, lost, and pain she was also curious about his scars on his face

"Those girls from before, what bitches, am I right? Seems like they do things like that a lot?" John asked.

That seemed to resonate with her, she could understand that more than anything else right now, especially with the way that he spoke, and how he seemed so calm about it, yet also held a knowing and understanding of everything that he said, word for word connected with her strongly.

"How did you…" Kitty started to say, but John cut her off.

"Bullies, easy to tell apart." His explanation did make sense to her, and as they rounded the corner, they slowly were coming close to the changing rooms. "I wouldn't worry about them. Usually, bullies are small little cowards inside." John said.

"Like, too true." Kitty surmised,

John nodded his head and knew this could be a way to get closer to her.

"Like, it sounds so adorable when you say that." John remarked.

"D-Don't like…ugh! D-Don't like…ooh God…"

Kitty said she had trouble trying to control it, but she couldn't.

John released a genuine chuckle out of his lips.

"Don't worry, it sounds cute when you say it." John said as Kitty lowered her brows. "By the way, after changing, you wouldn't mind showing me the way to the field, right? I'd be ever so grateful to you…I just don't wanna lose sight of my…objective."

Though it was a weird way to put it, Kitty certainly didn't have a problem with it.

"Sure, we could like…walk there together." Kitty said nervously

"That's…awesome. Can't wait for it."John replied nervously.

With that acknowledged, they continued walking together and talked. Though it was more Kitty's side than his own side.

When they reached the changing rooms, Jason leaned against the side of the changing room and adopted a small smile on his lips.

"Well, it seems like this Kitty is more than just a normal cat, huh?" Kitty giggled gently.

"Thanks, I'll make it up to you." John said.

"O-Oh no, you don't have too…" Kitty replied, but John raised his hand up, and he leaned closer, adopting a kind smile.

"I don't like leaving myself in people's debt, so I'll make it up to you somehow. It's just my kind of thing. Sorry if it sounds a little forceful to me. It's just not in me to allow myself to owe someone something." John answered.

"W-Well…" Kitty twirled some of her hair in her finger. "I-If you're really serious, then we could do something, I guess…like, we could…" John's lips turned upwards as her own trembled. "I-I said it again, didn't I…?"

"It doesn't matter. It's really cute of you. Like I find it very cute of you to say something like that." John said honestly.

John's words sounded like music to her ears. After the night she had, just being with someone that was normal seemed to be nice, and he wasn't that bad in the eyes either. Plus, he managed to scare off her bullies, so that was a plus in her eyes.

"So, I'll meet you out here, right?" John asked.

Kitty attempted to collect herself, but it was quite difficult for her to do something of this nature.

"S-Sure, like totally…it would be great." Kitty said.

"Cool, then catch you sooner rather than later, Kitty cat." John said.

Kitty just stared longingly as he entered the room, leaving her outside to contemplate what had just happened and then got her things. Then, two girls, Sydney and Riley, are watching her.

"Riley, check the Kitty-Pity-Party." Sydney said.

"Dreading PE, no doubt. It's probably the only class she's not acing." Riley commented.

"Let's, uh, give her some time off, hmm?" Sydney asked.

They come up behind her and shove Kitty into her locker and lock it.

"Ahh!" Kitty called out.

"World closin' in on ya, Kitty?" Sydney asked.

They head off to class, laughing

Kitty is banging on the door, trying to get someone's attention. "Hey! Let me out, you jerks! Uuh! Open the door! Somebody open this door!"

Kitty is making a lot of noise without any luck. Lance comes out of the bathroom, spraying the lockers with red spray paint while whistling.

Kitty then hears the spray can. "Hey! Who's out there? Can you hear me? Let me out!

Kitty phases out of her locker, making Lance spray himself in the face

"Hey, you see what you just did?" Lance asked as Kitty is nervous about what she just did

"What I...uh... I like just fell out, " Kitty replied.

"Yeah, man, right through the door. That is so cool!" Lance said in excitement.

"You're crazy." Kitty retorted.

Kitty tries to walk away, but Lance grabs her by the arm

"No, no. Wait a minute. I'm the one guy around here who gets the beauty of it. Cause you're just like me. " Lance explained, but the look on Kitty's face was still telling him that she still thinks he is crazy. "Really. All right then, check this."

Lance has his hands out, causing a little earthquake opening all the lockers. Lance then stopped whatever he was doing, and the shaking stopped as well.

"Gettin' the picture?" Lance asked.

"No, Kitty answered. "You're just like some freak! Leave me alone!" Then she runs away from him.

"You can run, but you can't hide. Cause I'm gonna rock your world." Lance said.

On the field that was being used for physical education, kids did their activities, given to them by the coach, a female of a certain age, an age that shouldn't be talked about either. Kitty and John are now dressed for the physical education section of the day. He truly looks to be having fun.

"So, pretty Kitty, what's got you so spooked?" John asked.

Noticing that Kitty seemed slightly spooked, Kitty looked towards him, a sheepish look on her face.

"It's…nothing, just some jerk from before." Kitty answered.

"A jerk huh…I know them alright. Don't worry, they usually go away if you don't give them any recognition." John said.

"Hehe, just having one of those days…say, John…have you ever felt…" Kitty started to say, but before she could finish, the coach called her over, John following after her.

"Hey Sydney, check who got out." Riley said as they noticed Kitty and John was with her.

Coach blows her whistle. "Pryde, you're late."

Kitty held her head down, but before she could answer, John did it himself.

"Sorry about that coach, that's my fault. I'm a transfer, and she helped me find my way. Please don't blame her for anything if anyone is to blame it is me."

The female coach stroked her chin dutifully.

"I see, so that's how it is. Well, if she was helping out a student, then I couldn't say anything. But, I didn't know that we had a transfer."

John didn't lose his composure for even a second, as he answered normally.

"I seem to be getting that a lot today. Even the office seemed confused. My papers mustn't have been sent or something." John

"Well, either way, it seems like you're here now. So, you and you three take the long jump. Since you're new here, would you like to go first?"

"Why yes of course." John answered.

His demeanor changed as he changed into a cat type. He figured that he would only need a slight boast in jumping, and cats can jump a little higher than normal people, so it worked out well for him. But, it did give him the tendencies to slack off like a cat, and also some hyper feelings when ready to perform tasks too.

John set himself up and then rushed forward, jumping at the appropriate time.

His body went through the air, managing to do a flip at the same time as he did so, impressing the locals around. When he landed at the end, he turned around as he put his hands upwards and then bowed his head.

"W-Well…that was quite impressive…erm…"

"The names John Hiawatha coach!" John yelled out.

The roof of the school. three guys hop from a tree to the roof. Lance is one of them

"Shut up with the clodding around." Griff said

"Stow it Griff, can we bust in through here or not? The other guy asked, pointing to a door to the school.

"Not. It's wired in through the alarm system." Griff answered.

"Now what, Alverce?" The other guy asked. "We got no way into this stinkin' office, and midterms start in the morning."

"Yeah, and exam answers ain't exactly gonna fetch a prime price after the test. Can't you just... you know, make a door? Griff asked.

"Sure, and have them know we were in? They'll change the tests!" Lance replied. "I got a sweeter idea, her."

Lance pointed at Kitty.

"What?" Griff asked. "What are you gonna have her long jump through the wall? Come on, get serious."

Lance is pissed and grabs Griff's arm while making the ground shake

"You riding me, Griff? Huh? Are ya?" Lance asked threateningly.

"Sorry man, I was just…" Griff tried to say.

"Woah, woah. It's cool Lance…" the other guy said as Lance let go of Griff's wrist.

"You two losers just line up the customers. I'll snatch the answers." Lance told them.

At the Long Jump pit. Kitty tries to make a jump but trips and lands head first into the sand, and then she hits the ground in frustration.

"Reow... Kittykat's got a temper." Sydney said with her hands out like claws.

Then John came up to her and helped Kitty to her feet.

"Hey, I think I saw that kid before." One of the boys said.

"What you serious?" Griff asked.

"I'm serious. I got a picture from my cousin of this guy at Mister Kemp's Dazzling Circus. When they were in British Columbia, they called the guy Bloodfang the Beastmaster, and he saw him work with the big cats without saying a single word or without using a stick or a wip." The other boy replied.

"Take notes, Pryde. This is how athletes do it." Riley remarked.

Riley starts to jump. Lance makes an earthquake just in the sand pit and covers Riley in sand.

"Huh?" Kitty asked.

Kitty sees Lance waving from the roof of the school. She starts to run away, bumping into Jean, then runs off again

In the school at the drama stage. Kitty is very frustrated about today. She kicks a chair that bumps the table, making a bowl go flying. Kitty tries to grab the bowl, but it phases through her hands, landing on the floor. Kitty looks at it and then sees if she can do it again. Then, there is a voice from the back of the back of the room. Its Jean and John who were making their way to the stage

"Kitty?" Jean asked.

Kitty gasps.

"Kitty, are you all right?" Jean asked .

"That Rah-Rah Riley a friend of yours?" Kitty asked as she took the mask and looked at it. "Cause, you know, like I had nothing to do with what happened out there in the sand pit."

"I know, and I'm not Riley's friend." Jean said.

"You look like you'd be her friend." Kitty replied as she covered her face with the mask.

Kitty, look, there's no need for masks. I know what's going on.

Kitty takes off the mask and is frustrated/annoyed

"You, like, don't know anything! Neither does that creepy guy out there!" Kitty yelled.

"Who? Lance? Forget about him."Jean said," This is about you. You and your wonderful new gift."

Kitty has calmed down by now. "I don't have any gifts, just a curse."

"Only if you let it be. I'd like to help you understand it. Together we…" Jean started to say, but Kitty cut her off.

"Look, I don't want any of this. It's like hard enough being normal, you know?" Kitty asked.

"Kitty, look, I just want you to watch me for a second. Please?" Jean asked.

Then Jean raises the mask out of Kitty's hand, putting it back on the wall, all using her mind

"Who... How'd you do that?" Kitty asked.

"The same way you can pass through walls. Just like you, one morning, I woke up and had this power. And trust me, I hated it too." Jean explained.

"That is not how I got my abilities." John remarked as John showed his claws to Kitty.

"I... I don't believe you. This is a trick!" Kitty retorted.

"No. No, you do believe me." Jean said. "I know because of my other ability. I can read your thoughts."

"No! Stay out of my head!" Kitty shouted.

"It isn't a trick. It is my ability. Like on the jumping thing…eeh, long jump. " There, you wondered how I could jump so well? The truth is, I used my power to help me. On my own, I could never be that athletically inclined." John answered.

"So…you've got powers…a-and you used them…wait, when you first met me, did you know of my powers then?" Jason looked down to the ground as he returned to said ground. "You did…didn't you? Did you…plan this out…? Our meeting…did you…pretend to be lost…?" Kitty asked.

John looked up to see the hurt in her eyes and even held some tears.

He didn't think she would be that affected by it. It wasn't like they had spent the entire day together. But still, it seemed like Kitty was quite upset with him, and when people were upset with him, he usually didn't care. But this time…he did.

"Our meeting was planned out, yeah." Kitty put a hand to her mouth, choking back a small sob. "That's because…Kitty, I…hmmmm, you see, I am quite like you…I have these powers too…and it might seem scary, but you know -" John was trying to say but Kitty cut him off.

"Go away!" Kitty screamed, bolting for the door. "Don't come near me, you liar!"

"Kitty, wait!" John shouted.

John was about to chase after her, when he felt something touch his shoulder.

Turning, he saw that it was Lance, having a menacing look in his eyes, though John didn't even seem to care that much at this point.

"Piece of advice, circus clown the same goes for you too red. I'm the only friend that girl's gonna need. And I'll be teaching her what's what. So, you just back yourself off." Lance said.

John got a threat, even the ground shook slightly. Perhaps it was Lance's own emotions that swayed his powers, but it didn't matter to him the power to affect the ground didn't cause him any distress he just stared at him growling like an angry animal.

"I'm not afraid of you, Lance, and if you try and rock my world, then I'll rock yours in a bad way. I know that you have the power to create quakes and such, but that doesn't frighten me. A piece of advice to you is to leave that girl alone."

Lance didn't even appear threatened by the young boy and just smirked.

"If that's how you feel then, I can't say anything. But just let's get it straight. The girl is with me, got it?"

"If you say so."John growled.

Lance smirked and then left the area.

"Jean, go inform the Professor while I get changed and look for Kitty.

He searched for her using his power once getting changed into normal clothes, sniffing the air for everything that he could need, and used the same thing he did before to track her, and finally did find her, sitting down outside of the school, on the steps, overlooking the street before her.

The expression on her face told him everything he needed to know, and he didn't like that she had such expressions on her face.

"Hey there, Kitty." John said.

Greeting casually, she turned towards him with a pained expression.

"Go away…" Kitty said dismissed him, but she wouldn't do something like that.

"Sorry, can't do that." John said plopped a seat next to her, so she shuffled away. "Look, about earlier…yeah, I must've freaked you out, huh. I'm sorry about that, I…well, I did mean to deceive you actually."

"Wow, someone admitting that they actually wanted to do that. Like that's incredible." Kitty said.

To John, it sounded like she was being sarcastic, and honestly, he couldn't blame her either.

"Hey I may be autistic but there is no need to be sarcastic." John remarked.

"I wasn't." She explained. "I, actually, was trying to be…I don't know…my head is so confused. I feel sick. Everything's changed, it keeps changing. I've found out that I'm like a freak or something -"

"You're not a freak." John said, cutting her off.

"Then, what am I!?" Kitty shouted.

John took a breath and inched closer.

"You're the girl that helped me find my way when I didn't know where to go."

"That was a lie…" Kitty remarked.

"Maybe it was, but you still helped me. You didn't need to, I was just some stranger at that point to you. Even now…" John replied.

Kitty collected her thoughts and then addressed him.

"Is John Hiawatha even your real name?" Kitty asked.

"Smith, my real name is John Smith, but my adopted mother legally changed my last name to Hiawatha since I loved the book the Song of Hiawatha too much as a child." John said. "And as a way to escape from a horrible and violent event of my past."

Kitty looked at him with a perplexed face.

"Then…what am I…?" Kitty asked.

"You're just a girl, like everyone else. The only difference is that you've got a superpower. You can go through walls. The mechanics behind it would take a little while to explain, but you've got a certain gene inside of you that makes you different from others and gives you powers. My power itself is to have animal empathy, senses and abilities of an animal you apparently can defy the laws of physics...is that physics...whatever, yeah, you can do that, and phase through solid objects." John explained.

Kitty held a hand to her mouth, giggling sweetly.

"D-Don't think I'm gonna trust you…" Kitty remarked.

"I'd be worried if you did fully trust me. I lied to you. I don't have an excuse and that's something I'll have to live with. You see, my professor runs a certain school that helps people like us with powers." John said.

"There's like others?" Kitty asked.

"That's right. There are others. They are all around the world, people like us. And if you give me an hour, to convince you to come with us, then I'd be appreciative. If, after that hour, I just convince you that I'm a nut, then I'll leave you alone, I promise." John said as his lips curled upwards.

An hour of her life didn't seem bad. She had to admit that she was curious about how to use her powers. If only for that reason, she was going to listen to what he had to say. But, she still wasn't fully convinced.

"Alright then…so, how do I control my powers?" Kitty asked.

"Come with me, I'll help you." John said.

Jason got off the stairs and offered his hand towards her.

Kitty looked at him…this day truly was confusing for her. She didn't think that she would be in these kinds of situations. But, it wasn't going to be so bad to just follow him. If she could just follow him, then she would be able to find some stuff.

Accepting her destiny, she took his hand, and together, they walked off.

Meanwhile, Scott and Kurt stopped in the city looking to see where Logan went.

"Ack, I've lost him." Kurt said while hitting the door.

'Hey, hey.! Watch the door panel, their smudge resistant not dent resistant." Scott yelled.

"There." Kurt said.

Kurt points to the top of a parking garage where Logan is looking down at everything.

As Logan was standing on top of the parking garage the sound of a motorcycle can be heard coming until Sabretooth crashes onto the roof while riding his motorcycle he drives right at Logan but he jumps out of the way as Sabretooth stops two feet away from Logan as the two mortal enemies had a stare down.

"Unfinished business, runt." Sabretooth said.

"Bring it on, pops. Bring it on." Logan replied while unleashing claws

Sabretooth speeds up to Logan, where Logan slashes part of the motorcycle, making part of it come off.

Sabretooth gets off just in time while the bike goes flying off the building. The bike is heading straight for the car Scott and Kurt are in.

Kurt teleports them out of the car a second before the bike goes crashing. It's totally ruining the car.

"Oh, man, my car!" Scott yelled.

Sabretooth isn't on the roof but beneath it. He starts to shove cars through the roof, making Logan fall to the next floor.

Logan is sort of dizzy from the fall. Sabretooth uses this as an advantage and starts to push a car against Logan. This pins him to a support column .

"One shall fall by the other's hand. Our destiny... we can't change it." Sabretooth said.

"I didn't know you went for that philosophy mumbojumbo." Logan replied.

"Hey hairball! I got your destiny right here." Scott called out as both he and Kurt were now in uniform

Scott shoots Sabretooth with an eye beam. Sabretooth is pushed back a little into a van.

Kurt teleports to Sabretooth, trying to push him down, but instead, Kurt bounces off his chest, falling down

"Typical." Kurt said.

Before Sabretooth could attack Kurt, Logan tackled Sabretooth into an elevator and went to stab him, but he kicked Wolverine away with his good leg as the elevator door closed.

Logan cuts through the door, but it is too late.

"A taste of things to come, Wolverine." Sabretooth said in the elevator, which is going down.

Kurt and Scott came walking up to Wolverine

"Ha! We showed him. We are the X-Men!" Kurt said.

Logan then looked at Scott and Kurt. "I don't fight your battles, so don't fight mine."

Logan walks off very annoyed.

"Ahh, they love us." Kurt said.

"Oh, yeah, big time." Scott replied.

Around fifty minutes later, back in Deerfield, John and Kitty walked around towards a deserted park of the school. Around the back, near the office of the school, so they could do things and be alone. Things to do with their powers.

"So, you're like, an animal man, there's a boy with eye lasers, there's another boy that can teleport, Am I right there…?" Kitty asked.

"That's right, that's the gist of it. Those are the students so far, and you could be one of them." John said.

Kitty furrowed her eyebrows, not sure what she was supposed to think. "It seems too good to be true."

""I thought the same before, but I got to know to them, and I discovered that they all have good hearts and they are

John smiled even more than he usually did. for some reason, he didn't know.

"So how did you discover your powers?" Kitty asked.

"Well when I was twelve years old, I was looking for a job at Mister Kemp's Dazzling Circus, Mister Kemp wasn't up to hiring a boy until one of his animal trainers was about to get attacked by Khan." John explained.

"Who's Khan?" Kitty asked.

"A Siberian Tiger." John answered. "Anyway I pulled him away, but Khan left me a gift."

John unbuttoned his buttons around his collar and showed her his scar Khan gave him. "I thought I was done for, but I looked into his eyes, and we stared at each other for a moment, then the big cat spared my life, and I pet Khan on his head so how did you discover your powers?"

"A dream…I had a dream of falling last night, and…I fell through the floor to the basement." Kitty replied as John nodded.

"Right, that makes sense. So, do you want to try your powers?" John asked as Kitty looked at him curiously.

"Sure! W-What do I do?" Kitty asked.

John looked around and then saw a tree.

"Try and go through that tree." He ran over to the tree and beckoned her over. "Come on, give it a try. All you have to do is believe…I know that sounds cliché and such, but you don't have to worry, Kitty. I'm right here. And no one's around. It's alright." John said.

Just hearing that gave her the confidence to carry on.

Slowly, Kitty touched the tree and then concentrated. Then, her hand went through the tree, surprising herself. More and more of her body went through the trees, and she gained confidence by the second.

Once getting through the tree, John, who was on the other side, gained a gentle smile.

"See? You did it." John said

"Yes!" Kitty hugged onto John's body as he felt complicated. "Aaha! Thank you, John! Really! This is so cool! Like, I could pretty much do anything now!"

"You're welcome now. Allow me to show you what else I can do." John said.

John then went to a small tree and pulled out of the ground and then placed it back then ran up to Kitty with the speed of a cheetah, then he pointed at a robin who was flying and he saw everything the bird was seeing.

John then saw a doe deer and her fawn, and he looked in the eyes of the doe, and he slowly walked up to her and bent down and took some grass and fed the doe and started petting the doe.

John then looked back at Kitty, who was just amazed by the whole thing and gestured for her to come over, and she did just that as she bent down and started petting the fawn who then licked her hand in response.

"As long as I can remember, since I was probably five years old, animals have come to me more than any other human, and I don't know why." John said.

"This is totally incredible." Kitty replied.

"It is, but you could use your powers in a few different ways." John said, then the doe raised up its head, and both her and her fawn rushed back into the forest. Both John and Kitty stood up as John sniffed the air. "We've got company, your old buddy Lance."

"L-Lance is here?" Kitty asked.

John looked left, as Kitty did the same thing.

It took about half a minute for him to come out, but that's what he did, and looked pissed off with John

"What did I say about staying away from her?"

"Sorry, I've never listened to orders before, unless you're someone I respect or earn by trust, and you're not someone I respect or I trust you wicked one so sorry."

He looked nonchalantly, Lance then looking towards Kitty.

"Hey Kitty, don't listen to him. He's only trying to get you into their weirdo club. You don't need them. Stick with me. I'll help you use your powers the right way." Lance said.

"You mean breaking things and probably becoming a jewel thief, yeah."John retorted.

Lance clicked his tongue, clearly frustrated.

"I've just had about enough of you!" Lance yelled.

Lance placed his hand outwards, and his eyes rolled into the back of his head. Around the area, the landscape began to shake, Lance's powers activating, and Jason knew exactly where they were going, right for him.

"Get out of the way!" John yelled.

John pushed Kitty away just in time for his body to fall down into a hole that Lance made, trapping his body down into the earth and it closed up above his head, not having time to save both him and Kitty with flying so chose to save Kitty instead.

Kitty's eyes widened in horror, as Lance's own eyes turned very happy, like he was having his birthday.

"John…John!" Kitty called, but there was no reply. "H-Hey! John! C-Come on! Come out already!"

Kitty went to rush towards the area he was in, but Lance had made it to Kitty, grasping her forearm so she couldn't leave.

"Wait a second, Kitty, you don't need him. Come with me." Lance said.

"N-No! Let go of me!" Kitty retorted.

Kitty attempted to get away from Lance, but he was stronger than she was, keeping her wrists tightly together.

"Now, come on, Kitty. Don't be mean, come and help me break into the office." Lance said.

"No! Go away!" Kitty yelled.

Kitty, using her powers, phased her wrists out of the boy's grasp and put distance between them.

"Kitty, don't -" Lance started to say, but as Lance was about to finish, John burrowed out of the earth, pulling himself out of the ground, and then stood up tall. Kitty looked relieved, Lance looking pissed off, John himself groaned as the light touched him.

"Stupid light…can't see much like this…" John said as he took a breath, "That's better."

"H-How did you!?" Lance asked, surprised.

Lance didn't know of John's powers, not really. So, he didn't know how the heck John actually did something like that.

"I used a mole's burrowing ability. To be honest, I was a little worried for a few moments, and I hadn't used it in quite some time. But then, I heard that Kitty was in trouble, so I couldn't stay silent either. So, I came up here. Gotta admit, though, burrowing from the earth upwards. I've always been going down first. But either way, I don't think that you should stay near Kitty anymore." John explained.

"Then, let's rock!" Lance said.

Lance put his hands out, and was about to activate his powers, when John charged for him, shoulder barging him, and then he went through the window to the schools office, John grimacing at the sight.

"Sorry about that, but you had that one coming." John said.

"You're okay!" Kitty yelled, Then she once again hugged onto him, John didn't know how to feel about that.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry. Oh, I best go and make sure that Lance isn't dead…Professor would kill me." John said.

Before Kitty could reply, John rushed towards the building with his superhuman speed.

Not wanting to be left behind, Kitty rushed for the building, phasing through the walls.

Getting inside of the office, she saw that Lance was on his feet, though she looked dizzy. John stood near the door, and Kitty was closest to Lance, seeing a stand off between the two of them, like two animals about to fight.

"Lucky shot." Lance guffawed.

"Luck didn't have anything to do with it. Now, if you want to fight, I don't mind. I've never fought anyone with such…shaking powers before. It does seem interesting, to say the least." John replied.

Lance glared towards John, who took a few steps closer, releasing a small growling sound.

Lance, didn't want to deal with that, not wanting to be pushed with such strength again, so he did the only thing that he could, turning towards Kitty, and lunged for her, Kitty being in surprise, and couldn't react in time.

"Whoa! Whoa! What are you doing!?" Kitty asked.

Kitty demanded when he grabbed her wrists, and the boy himself just showed a slight smile.

"Come on, Kitty." Lance said.

Kitty once again struggled with the young man, as John heard some sounds coming from down the corridor,

Going to the door, John then grasped the handle and then ripped the door open to reveal Kitty's parents and Jean in her uniform. Her father and mother rushed through the door, the mother staying near John, as the father rushed closer, near a bookshelf.

"Let go of my daughter!" Kitty's dad said as he started running at Lance.

"Far enough, old man." Lance remarked.

Lance makes a little earthquake, causing stuff in the office to fall, including a bookcase on Kitty's dad.

"No, stop!" Kitty yelled, but Lance grabbed her by the arm and tried to head off.

"They're just gonna confuse you, Kitty. We're outta here." Lance said as he started using his powers on a wall and started to crack.

"Kitty, please. We can work this out." Kitty's mother said.

"Let go of me." Kitty said to Lance.

Lance breaks the wall of the room. Jean uses her mind to keep the stuff from falling on them

"We're in control now. We make our own way." Lance replied.

Jean uses her powers to lift the bookcase off of Kitty's dad.

"Kitty, I pushed you to this, I know. I wanted to pretend that nothing was wrong. I'm not perfect. I'm learning, just like you are…" Kitty's dad said.

"Daddy?" Kitty asked.

"Forget them, come on. I'm bringing this place down." Lance retorted, then he used his powers, and the whole building started to shake and fall apart. Jean uses her powers to put up a force-field around Kitty's parents.

"You called your gift a curse. If you go with him, I guarantee you it will be." Jean said

"Kitty, listen to her!" Kitty's mother yelled

"Sweetheart, we love you!" Kitty's father yelled as well.

"They're too late. You're with me now." Lance retorted.

Kitty phases through his hand and runs off to her parents and Jean.

"No, I'm not." Kitty said.

Lance is very annoyed. He storms off in anger while the whole school collapses. Kitty gets covered in bricks while Jean uses her mind to keep the whole school from falling on them.

Outside, the professor started talking to Jean telepathically.

"Jean, your powers, use your powers." Professor X said.

"I'm tryin' it's too much." Jean replied.

"I'll assist. Keep your mind clear." Professor X said.

"But Kitty…" Jean started to sa, but Professor X cut her off.

"Keep your mind clear." Professor X reminded her.

"No, Kitty…" Kitty's mother said while looking where Kitty was last:

"My little girl…" Kitty's father said, but then Kitty phases through the rubble

"Woah," Kitty said, then ran up to her parents and gave them a hug.

"Kitty? Kitty…" Kitty's mother said.

"Oka, like everybody grabbed onto me. I'll get us out." Kitty said, pulling away from the hug as John grabbed Kitty by her shoulder and nodded.

Outside the building. Charles is waiting for them as he sees the five phases through the rubble.

"Yes, Kitty, it is a gift. And you've used it well." Professor X remarked.

"Mom, I'm so sorry. And Daddy, these people... they like wanna help me. I trust them." Kitty said as John nodded.

"I know, sweetie, and so do I. Professor. I think we have some things to talk about." Kitty's dad said.

Yes, we do." Professor X replied.

Later on at the school, there are fire and rescue trucks. Lance is on a hill, looking at the whole wreck. He starts to walk off when someone stops him. It is Ms Darkholme.

"I'd say you've blown your chances at this school, haven't you?" Principal Darkhölme asked.

"And you are…" Lance started to say, but Principal Darkhölme cut him off.

"Your new advisor. I've made an opening for you at Bayville High. I have much to teach you… Ms Darkholme said as she changed into Mystique. "My young Avalanche."

After John, Jean, Kitty and the Professor returned to the X Mansion, John walked up with Kitty, showing her around the mansion on the behest of Charles and the other adults, barring Logan that was.

"And those are Scott and Kurt." Pointing towards them as he spoke, they all looked at them and waved at them. "This is Kitty. She's new."

"Nice to meet you guys." Kitty said, but she was a little uneasy by Kurt's appearance.

"Come on, I want to introduce you to my friends." John said.

Kitty's pov

John grabbed a hold of my hand and I was blushing by his touch and he led me to his room and we went in and I saw a beautiful native american style room complete with furniture and he was then got knocked down by a Alaskan malamute and was licking his face.

"Kenai down boy, down boy." John said as he pushed the dog off of him.

I chuckle as I bend down and pet the dog.

"Kitty, this is my dog Kenai." John said as I petted the dog as he licked my face as I let out a laugh.

"Come on, there are two more friends I would like you to meet." John said.

He grabbed me by the hand, and I started blushing again, and we went outside, and there we saw a golden eagle in a tree it looked at, then John pulled out a glove and he held out his hand and the eagle flew in and landed on John's glove right hand.

"This is Srak. He is also my preferred eye in the skies." John explained as I looked amazed.

Then Srak flew back into the tree as John then grabbed my hand again and led me into a very large enclosure, and we went inside.

"Now this is my old friend, so please don't freak out." John said.

"Why would I freak out?" I asked.

Then I saw a huge brown bear looking right at me.

I was about to scream, but John covered my mouth.

"Relax Kitty, this is Bart, my old friend. I've known him since he was a cub." John explained.

John let go of my mouth, and he smiled and patted the bear on his head while the bear licked his left hand, and then it lay down as John gave it a belly rub and he nodded me over and I bent down and rub Bart's belly and I looked at John who smiled as I giggled to herself, knowing that despite being weird, she was going to have a good time here.
