After spying on her infatuation hanging out with Tikal, Amy spent most of her night pacing back and forth in her bedroom, letting her anger and jealousy simmer throughout her body. She would leap between various ideas of how to get rid of Tikal; her darker thoughts were edging her to kill the orange Echidna. These thoughts were somehow getting worse for the pink hedgehog. Her mind would always picture such savage attacks: battering Tikal to death with a hammer, burning her alive in an eternal flame etc. Maybe she should start retaking those pills...

NO!

She doesn't need those pills. All she needs to do is think about her true love and what would be best to keep him safe. That's right... no need for those pills. No need to barricade those thoughts again.

Luckily, after going back and forth in her mind about what to do, she chooses the better option of sabotaging Sonic's and Tikal's friendship. Even though -in Amy's mind- Tikal is trying to take her dear friend in his 'fragile' state, she couldn't kill her. There's a possibility more suspicion would arise with Sally's disappearance and then a sudden murder. Plus it could make Sonic feel worse, Amy can't let her darling go into a bleak state.

Taking some deep breaths in and out, the pink hedgehog gets ready for bed and tucks herself into the soft confines of her duvet. Turning her body so her back faces the window that allows her to view the front yard. Where a certain dark hedgehog was spying on her, stationed on one of the thick tree branches, like always, he waited 15 minutes before inching closer to unexpectedly be right against the window. He has a secure grip on the window sill while his feet are strategically lodged against the wall where there's no chance he would slip. From an outside perspective, he looked to be in a comical pose as if he had been splattered against the wall similar to old slapstick cartoons. Yet this position wouldn't be seen as humorous within context. Shadow would always linger at his rose's house longer than he should; he just couldn't help himself. When he tells himself 5 more minutes it turns into almost a full hour of him watching over the pink hedgehog. In all honesty, the main reason he'd stay longer was because this was one of the few prolonged times he could spend -in his words- protecting her. G.U.N suddenly has been designating his team with some admittingly challenging assignments to complete. When Shadow was skimming some of the documents Sally Acorn was mentioned in one. Naturally, Shadow didn't reveal this document to his teammates. Even though this doesn't guarantee Sally's body will be found, it'll be likely that it won't be found so soon. Much to his dismay, Shadow must leave soon, he needs enough sleep so he can help out his rose in the morning. He needs to make a subtle hint or possibly more to guarantee she won't murder Tikal.

8:35 AM

Meaning that it took Amy 45 minutes to shower quickly, get dressed and have breakfast. She now sat in her dining room, munching down on the cut pieces of her fried eggs on her plate. The living room TV was turned on to some cartoons made in the 2010s; Amy wasn't listening much to the TV though. She was more focused on her plans for the day. Her mind would flip through ways on how she could eliminate her target and she couldn't choose one to stick with. It was bugging her how her thoughts would scatter around in her mind; maybe she could just use her hammer again... Amy shakes her head as if that would brush her thoughts away before taking a final bite of her breakfast. She then stood up -her now empty plate in her left hand with the fork and knife in the other- and went to the kitchen. The one window in this room had its curtains pulled back, allowing the sun's light to shine through the kitchen, letting in a lovely glow into the room. Shuffling her feet toward the kitchen sink, Amy carefully places the dishes into the sink; so she can wash them up later. For now, she needs to focus on what's important. What would be the best way to protect her Sonic though? Amy's eyes wander as she ponders on what to do, looking at her sink, the countertop, the rat poison on the top-

Wait

Amy stays focused on the rat poison just standing on her kitchen counter. When did she take that out? It was supposed to be in the lower cupboard. Upon taking the small tube of poison in her hand, something clicks in the pink hedgehog's mind. Perhaps she could use this to stamp out her competition; Amy can humiliate Tikal by making her throw up on Sonic! Surely that'll make Sonic disinterested in the orange echidna. With a cunning grin, she puts the small bottle into her dress pocket and prepares to process toward Tikal's home. In Amy's eyes, it would be best to scout Tikal and see if she tries to talk to Sonic again. It took Amy about half an hour on foot until she arrives in front of the cosy cabin. As convert as possible, Amy scans around the building for a place to hide and spy on the orange echidna. Upon creeping around the 2nd corner of the cabin, Amy spots an open window. Luckily for the pink hedgehog, there were some large bushes a few meters from an open window giving her access to a view of the end of a corridor with an open door. Amy crouches down -using the bush as a cover- before looking further into the window to figure out what room it is. Promptly, the echidna Amy was searching for struts out of the room holding her phone up to her ear. Amy swiftly ducks down to avoid Tikal catching her.

Tikal laughs as she exits the room, "That's good to hear Sonic. If you'd like, you can come over for lunch. I'm going to make some soup and..." Her voice slowly becomes mute as she goes down the hallway, signalling for Amy to pop out of this hiding spot and find another way to observe her target. She begins to crawl to the side of the cabin while thinking of ways to screw up this potential opportunity. Could she...set fire to the kitchen? No that's too reckless; it could hurt Sonic. Indeed there was a solution that didn't involve hurting Sonic- the rat poison. Amy stops crawling to remove the bottle from her pocket and scan its label. One of its warnings was 'AVOID ALL CONTACT BY MOUTH'. A quick yet bright sparkle flashes in Amy's eyes as an idea is formed. She continues to creep until she makes it to the next open window; there was a lovely breeze today so Amy couldn't blame Tikal that much for having almost all of her windows open. Along with the fact that in Tikal's area, it was rare to have a break-in (especially during the day). Marginally, Amy peeks over the window sill to view the orange Echidna talking on her phone. "Well, I need to get going now. I'll see you for lunch Sonic!" Tikal then hangs up, gently dropping her phone on the living room table. Guess that means they'll be meeting again at Tikal's cabin. Amy just needs to wait for the right moment.

In about 10 minutes, Tikal decides to check on her small garden and collect some ingredients for the lunch she plans to make. Hopefully Sonic wouldn't mind having vegetable soup; she knows Sonic prefers hot meat types of food (e.g. chilli dogs). Tikal goes through the storm door to admire her tiny yet beautiful garden. Carrots, potatoes and tomatoes were all growing in perfect rows on the right side while the left side had perfect rows of sunflowers, Dahilas and Petunias. Usually, around this time of the day, she would check up on her plants to ensure no weeds were growing or the plants needed to be watered. While the orange Echidna tends to her plants, she ponders what type of soups she'll make for lunch. It wasn't long until her mind was set on what to use. Tikal steps up to the tomatoes and carefully picks out the ripest bach for the soup; hopefully Sonic wouldn't mind something simple for lunch. She goes back inside her cabin to place her tomatoes in a woven basket on the kitchen counter. Deciding to do some housework before making the soup since Tikal has around 3 hours until Sonic arrives. Within the time limit, she has given herself, Tikal polishes/dust some of her treasured items and washes some laundry. Of course, time seems to flash by and when Tikal taps on her phone to see it is now 11:20. She finishes her task of dusting a part of the living room and walks into her kitchen to now prepare lunch. In light of the fact that she'd often cook such simple dishes, Tikal didn't have any trouble making the tomato soup. The orange Echidna only took 30 minutes to have two bowls on a tray full of tomato soup, along with their spoons and 2 pieces of bread on each bowl's right side. Looking over the tray's contents, Tikal gathers that it needs something extra to make more of an appealing view. Within mere seconds she realized what was missing; a Petunia! She can place a miniature vase with the flower inside to make more of a palliative vibe. Tikal moseys out of the kitchen to collect one Petunia, providing the snooping pink hedgehog with a chance to poison the soup.

As quietly as possible, Amy scrambles through the open window to now be crouching inside the living room. She can't waste any time thinking, she needs to act fast before Tikal comes back inside. Moving furtively to the counter holding the tray with the bowls of soup, Amy stands up and twists the rat poison lid open. Just as she is about to pour a small amount into the soup, she stops herself. Which one can she pour the poison in? There wasn't anything to indicate which bowls would be Tikal's. Her eyes switch between the two dishes; which one should she pour the poison into?! Since she didn't have much time, her hand impulsively tips the bottle into the bowl it was hovering over. She bends down to avoid being seen and steps back to the open window. Mercifully, Amy manages to escape just as Tikal comes back inside, deftly carrying a single Petunia in both hands. Passing through the open kitchen, Tikal opens an upper cupboard to take out a small vase to set it down between the two bowls. With the final touch in place, it now looks perfect for the orange Echidna. All she has to do now is-

Two loud bangs come from her front door, "You in there Tikal!?" The Echidna in question smiles and jogs down the hallway.

Quickly opening the door, she says "I'm here, Sonic. Thank you for joining me to lunch; I don't usually have company around so it's nice of you to come." Sonic runs into the living room and straight away sits down with his arms across the back pillows. Giving off his 'laid-back' attitude with a silly grin,

"Hey it's no problem Tikal. Honestly, having these chill moments with you is really relaxing. It kinda helps to just talk with you." He pauses to sit with his back straight and his hands clasped together. Tikal lumbers back to the tray and takes hold of its handles. "Now what are we havin' for lunch? Sandwiches, chilidogs or-"

Sonic stops himself when Tikal sets the tray on the table, his eyes look down at the bowls of soup. It's not that Sonic dislikes the dish but he'd much prefer something with more substance. Tikal notices his staggered expression, "It's tomato soup Sonic."

"I know what it is."

As Tikal sits down beside the blue hedgehog she giggles at his response, "Then why are you looking at it as if you've never seen it before?" She passes a bowl to Sonic along with the spoon.

Sonic playfully rolls his eyes as his spoon heaps up some soup. His mouth was agape to allow the liquid to go down his throat; it had an eerie taste. "Well, I wasn't expecting soup for lunch so-" He pauses upon an odd feeling growing in his stomach. Was the soup too hot? If it was then why didn't he react quicker and sit it out? Sonic forms a sour expression, deciding to take another spoonful. Believing this feeling could just be because he hasn't had soup in a long time so it might get better with another gulp...

No, he was wrong it only got worse.

He puts the bowl back down on its tray before his back hunches over, it feels like his stomach is burning. "S-Sonic, what's wrong?" Tikal asks, attempting to support her friend by rubbing his back. Sonic heaves and runs to the closest room hoping it was the bathroom. Sonic slams the door and vomits into the first thing he can steady himself onto (which turns out to unfortunately be a plant bot). Tikal could hear him through the wooden door, causing a mix of confusion and guilt to swarm her. Numerous questions begin to form in her mind: why is he vomiting? Was it the soup? Did she make the soup wrong? She steps closer to the door, there were only seconds of silence before Sonic returned to spewing. Tikal tries to talk with him through the door, apologizing profusely and asking if she could do anything to help. However, the pink hedgehog still hiding under the window sill also heard Sonic vomiting. Her face hiding in both hands in disgrace; she shouldn't have done this. Regret was building in her stomach as soon as she caught Sonic's face after one spoonful. He was clearly given the soup that was contaminated with rat poison. Now her poor Sonic is sick and she can't do anything to help him. With a bite of her bottom lip, Amy settled on leaving before her emotions got the better of her. Crawling away from the window and away from the property, Amy soon stands up to walk back home in a sour mood. Things didn't go as planned; maybe she shouldn't interfere when Tikal and Sonic hang out. Of course, she isn't ruling out stalking the two since her possessiveness drives her to think of -what she believes to be- hapless situations between the two.

It wasn't until 6 minutes later that there was a sudden buzzing in Amy's left dress pocket. Amy stopped to pull out her phone, Silver's name was across her screen. Amy was curious for Silver to be calling her around this time. Usually, he'd call her in the evenings to hang out. They'd either bake cupcakes or spend some time together discussing any topic that interests them. She lets her phone ring 3 times before settling to answer, it could take her mind off of her foolish action. Plus, talking with Silver always made her mood better. He was like a little brother to her; Silver was a cute optimistic dork that made the pink hedgehog smile whenever she interacted with him. Gulping down the last ounce of disappointment Amy speaks to her phone,

"Hiya Silver! What's up?"

Silver lets out a small chuckle, "N-nothing much." Amy could hear how perturbed he was in his tone. Amy begins to walk as her friend continues to speak slowly. "I just... you're not busy are you?"

"No not really why?" Amy questions, does he need help with something?

Silver's tone slightly brightens in glee, "I was wondering if you come and visit Blaze with me?" Her hand not holding the phone reaches to rub her bent elbow. A tinge of guilt surfaces on her face. Only a little bit of shame though, the other part of her was gratingly pushing down how she should truly feel about her actions. Even though Blaze is a close friend, she can't risk losing her Sonic to anyone. "Blaze would really appreciate it if you came to check up on her. As long as you're ok with it."

Amy takes a beat of silence to decide whether to visit Blaze or just go straight home. It would be best if she joined Silver, after all, Amy can't have Blaze be suspicious of her. There is also some guilt inside the pink hedgehog for seriously harming a friend. If she doesn't show any remorse for 'accidentally' injuring Blaze then surely the purple cat will examine the situation and notice that the push wasn't a mistake. Amy replies, "Of course, I'm ok with it! I need to apologize to Blaze anyway if only I didn't lose my footing then she wouldn't be stuck in a hospital." Luckily, this got the pink hedgehog some sympathy from her friend.

He makes a sound of consolation, "Oh don't blame yourself, Amy. We all know it was an accident; heck, I bet cha' I would've tripped as well in that situation."

That causes a giggle to escape Amy, "Wouldn't that be kinda difficult to do for you? You have telekinesis after all you could just stop yourself before hitting anything."

"If I had fast reflexes maybe." Silver playfully bites back, pleased to have lightened his friend's mood. "So would it be ok if we meet up at the hospital? It'll take me about 20 minutes to get there."

On foot, Amy will be able to get there in around an hour if she walks, "I'll be there in half an hour, see you at the reception."

"Great! I'll see you soon!" The call ends. The pink hedgehog turns left on the minor road, now leaving Tikal's area. Within 15 minutes the pink hedgehog managed to mosey her way to the city. Thanks to the sun deciding to greet the earth with its full face, crowds have formed throughout the city. Luckily, Amy wasn't intimidated by such large crowds; she managed to thrust herself through small openings between crowds. As Amy proceeds to the hospital, she crosses a flower shop. Her eyes were swiftly focused on a bundle of bright colours, fresh Snapdragons and purple Hyacinths set out behind the window display. The sun gave them a loud spotlight to express their beautiful features. Blinded by the flowers' beauty, she forgets about her route to the hospital. Amy, enchanted by the varied flowers, enters the store. Three loud dings of the golden doorbell signals the florist of a customer's arrival; they put on a friendly smile and dust their green apron before greeting Amy. The pink hedgehog didn't respond to the employee's fake enthusiasm, she continued to examine the flowers on display. Even though Amy didn't have a big interest in flowers, she seemed to be intensely focused on the Snapdragons and Hyacinths. The male florist trots to her side and notices the flowers she's staring at.

"Oh, are you interested in our new batch? It's 27 pounds for the whole bouquet, while to have single bouquets for either flower is 13 pounds and 99 pence." Amy breaks from her haze and turns her head to face the anthropomorphic horse. Upon hearing him detail the prices, Amy considers buying them for Blaze. Surely a gift will brighten her friend's mood... and make her apology more convincing. From what she can recollect about flowers' meaning, shouldn't Hyacinths mean forgiveness?

She gives a small smile to the florist, "Oh, well I'm interested but would these flowers be suitable as apology flowers? I know some flowers have meaning and I don't want to mistake them for something else."

In return, he responds with as much knowledge he has on the flowers, "Some flowers can have multiple meanings but if you're looking for apology flowers then you should definitely incorporate Hyacinths into the bouquet." He then points to the Snapdragons, "While these can mean graciousness... it will look lovely paired with the Hyacinths."

There was a pregnant pause until Amy smiled, "Can I have a bouquet made for these flowers please?" The florist nods eagerly, rapidly picking out a certain amount of Snapdragons and Hyacinths before jogging behind the counter and through the back. Amy continued observing the other various flowers and taking in their unique scents until the florist soon returned. Upon eyeing the bouquet Amy notices a new kind of dark flower introduced.

She wasn't even able to ask about the flower as the florist spoke up, "I know you didn't request for the black Dahilias but they'd surely make the other flowers pop! I won't charge you for the additional flowers... i-if that's ok."

"It's fine, thank you!" Amy wasn't that bothered about the additional flowers. As long as it looks nice and are apology flowers then it's fine by her. After paying for the bouquet, the pink hedgehog waves goodbye and once again thanks the man. Now, she is making her way to visit her friend with a gift in tow.
