I never thought that I'd return to the village of doom, but here I was. I also didn't know that I would be dead, or undead, but again here we are.

My name is Remus John Lupin, and I'm a vampire. I was running from my maker and hiding from the people I love. They can't know that I'm alive, so here I am in the quiet town of Little Hangleton. I remember this town from when I was a human. It was small. I found myself in a graveyard. There was something eerie about it. Like someone was planning on something here. I remember being here a while ago. I shake my head. I shouldn't be thinking about that. I needed to find somewhere I could hide before sunrise. So, I walked around the graveyard to find it empty with a few gravestones.

The town was boring apart from the interesting statues and a large house, which could keep me hidden. However, it hadn't changed since I was here last before I was a monster. Before I was undead. It's not a happy story. I sigh as I walk up to the front door and open it slowly. There's no way my maker could still be here or his slave who ratted me out in the first place.

"Hello?" I call out. My voice was hoarse from not speaking in a while. "Is anyone home?" I ask. I was mostly speaking to myself because I knew I was alone. My friend Sirius Black and his sixteen-year-old Godson think I'm dead. I guess it's for the best. I could kill them, or my maker could do that, and I don't know if I could live with myself if that happened. When I walk further into the entry, I smell blood. It isn't strong enough to make me a slave to my bloodlust, but it is strong enough to follow it.

When I walk into the drawing room, I see a boy about Harry's age drinking blood from a blood bag on the floor. When I get closer, I see that he has a chain around his arm. "Hello?" I ask, getting closer to the boy.

"H…Hello?" The boy says, moving away from Me. "Who…Who are you?" he asks, holding up his hand as if ready to fight. Anger shot through me. Turning a child was the worst thing you could do.

"My name is Remus. Can you tell me yours?" I ask, getting down to meet his eyes.

"Draco," he says slowly. I nod and smile at him.

"What are you doing here? It's not safe," I ask him, eying the blood bag. I am not hungry but seeing it there makes me want it.

"I was brought here. He brought me. He said I could join him. My father works for him," I nodded slowly but my anger was building. I'm not one for anger but seeing this: a child vampire is making me angry.

"Do you know his name?" I ask. Draco shakes his head.

"No, I haven't seen him in…"

"Draco, I'm home," I know that voice. That is the voice of mine and now Draco's maker. I take a deep breath before I snap the chain around Draco's arm and stand up quickly.

"Do you know where we can hide?" I ask him. He stands up too before he nods.

"Yes, this way," he says, pointing to the back door.

We make our way to a small shack. However, as Draco walks up to the door, I freeze, remembering this place. This is where I had been held when I was a newborn vampire.

"Come on," the boy says when I don't move. If we weren't running from my maker, I would've laughed at the snappy tone of the boy. Instead, I nod, not saying anything.

The place is the same as I left it. Only more vines and weeds are on the floor. The place smells of dirt and weirdly not blood. I fed so much here that it should have smelled of it.

"It smells of blood in here," Draco says, walking to a small table and sitting down. I shake my head at him. I am used to the smell, it seems. "Is He after you or do you really want me to hide from him as well? My father can protect me," Draco informed me. His voice is arrogant.

"Why do you think he's after me? I don't think he knows I'm alive," I say, sitting down across from him.

"Because of the look of fear in your eyes. "You are scared of a little vampire," he laughs a little, but the laugh is forced.

"Are you scared of him?" I ask, running my hand through my hair. The boy looks up at me and slowly shakes his head but there is fear in his eyes.

"I'm a vampire," I say, standing up. Draco looks at me and lets out a sigh.

"I know, I can tell. He turned you, didn't he," it's not a question, but I nod anyway.

"We are in the very place where he and his 'friends' kept me. I can help you," Draco looks at me and laughs.

"You can't help me," he says, standing up and walking to the door.

"Wait! He could be out there. Monsters like us should stick together," I say the last part without thinking. However, this makes Draco turn around quickly.

"You think you are a monster?" he asks, walking back to me. I sigh. I don't normally say that to people who I have only just met. Even if it is true. I didn't answer the boy's question.

"I don't think you are one. Just because we are undead doesn't make us monsters.

"He's a monster. I mean, he doesn't even look human," Draco says, pointing at a picture on the wall next to me. I laugh.

"He doesn't even have a nose," I say, laughing. Draco laughs as well.

"We should go before he finds us," the boy says, standing up.

"The sun is out," I say, letting out a sigh. The sun feels heavy. Draco looks at me and nods.

"I feel it too," he says, sitting back down. "I guess we are staying here for the day," he adds, looking for another door to the shack. I shake my head at him and smile a little.

"There are more rooms. You can go explore if you want to," I watch the teen leave the room. I wonder if I could look after a child. I'm going to have to try if I want to protect him from our maker. Sirius can help. I should tell him and Harry that I'm not dead. I nod to myself as I think of this idea. I just hope I can handle telling him what I am. I'm sure he'll understand.

My life has changed yet again in this doomed place where I never thought I would ever return.
