Chapter 2
It was weird. Waking up and not realizing where you are or what has happened. For a whole minute after waking up Naruto was sorta spaced out. A blank look in his eyes. He couldn't remember anything or even think properly. In the end though his brain finally caught up to his consciousness and began to finally remember.
Blood and pain in the beginning, then came the fear and panic, then the realization of his surroundings, and then finally relief and sadness. With all of that was also confusion mixed in. He remembered being attacked. From a shinobi who clearly wanted to kill him. to finally end him as he had put it. Although why exactly was still sorta lost on him. Calling him a demon did not make sense. Why was he a demon, and why should he be knowing why he was called that. Added to that with all the glares he received every time he left the orphanage with his jiji. Naruto was really questioning what the hate was all about. He hoped he would get the answer soon.
Coming back to his surroundings, Naruto saw that he was on a bed with white sheets next to a window. However, not only were the sheets white, but also all the walls and majority of the room itself. He could only guess that this is what a hospital room is. Having never been to one, it seems like this would be a first for him.
Pushing himself up with his hands and sitting upright in his bed. Naruto looked around the room a little more. In between the window and his right side of the bed, was a nightstand table. It had nothing but a little vase with a single flower in it. It was also white, just like the whole room seems to be. Too much white in his opinion. Looking around the rest of the room, he realized that there was barely anything else there apart from the door opposite to the foot of his bed. On the other side of his bed was also a clothes hanger with what seemed to be his clothes hanging from it. Seeing that there wasn't anything else, Naruto leaned his back against his pillows and the wall behind him and closed his eyes.
"How am I alive?" He again muttered softly.
He couldn't remember anything after the man rushed to attack him. He blacked out then and woke up here. Maybe he had lost too much blood at that point. That was the only thing he could think of. However, that doesn't explain why he was alive. The shinobi could've easily killed him and was in the process of doing so. So how was he here and not dead somewhere in a graveyard.
'Then again this could be the afterlife for all I know.'
It certainly would explain the too much white room he is in.
Nah, he is overthinking things. He just has to wait for someone to realize he was conscious again and check on him. Meanwhile he looked down at his body and checked the area where the kunai was on his thigh. Moving his hospital gown aside and saw that there wasn't even a scar left. It seems that someone healed him pretty well, healing jutsu was pretty awesome. Maybe he could Learn it in the future.

Naruto, Looking up straight away at the direction of the sound, saw the door slowly opening up. For a second he had his whole body tense up at the sound, but released the tension again. He realized that someone was coming through and smiled when he found out who it was. Poking his head through the partially open doorway was his jiji without his hat on. He looked over at Naruto and smiled at him back. Before fully stepping in the room and closing the door behind him.
Naruto saw that he was slowly approaching him in a careful way, like Naruto was a paper bomb that would explode with any misstep. At the same time while he had a smile on his face Naruto saw in his jiji's eyes some sadness and worry. He wondered what was really going on and why was he this careful around him. None of that matters anyways as his jiji slowly approached him and leaned over and gave him a warm hug. Naruto was hesitant at first but non the less wrapped his arm around him as well and sighed in relief. For a second he ignored all the questions in his mind and enjoyed the hug he was given.
"I'm glad to see that you're alright Naruto-chan, it is good to have you back." his jiji said after he released him. He then proceeded to sit on the bed close to him facing the window side. It was a little awkward for a second or two before either of them said anything. While Naruto felt a little apprehensive about asking the question that he had in mind, he went ahead and asked anyway.
"Jiji, what exactly happened after I passed out?" He asked in a quiet murmur.
Here, the god of shinobi and the professor, couldn't help but sigh out loud. What he was about to tell his young charge would probably Change him forever. Nonetheless, he can't hide something like this and have him distrust him if he ever found the truth. So with great resignation he told him exactly what had happened.
"i'm sorry about this Naruto-chan. The shinobi that attacked you, tried to kill you. However, he died before he could reach you."
"How." Muttered Naruto quietly again.
"He died from something we think you accidentally did, Naruto-chan."
Here Hiruzen looked closely at his charge. With wide eyes he was trembling all over, unable to fully take what had happened. Nonetheless he pushed on with the explanation to give him the full story.
"Somehow in your unconscious state something protected you and attacked the shinobi before he could kill you. We don't know fully right now Naruto-chan, but that's why I'm here."
Still shaking and looking down, he was starting to get worried just by looking at him. He had to do something to break him out of it.
"Naruto, look at me!" He slightly bellowed.
Having finally looked up at him and making eye contact, Hiruzen gave another sad sigh before he continued.
"It's not your fault that he died, he attacked you and you had every right to defend yourself Naruto-chan. If he had survived the ordeal, I would have killed him myself. Don't worry about it too much. He should have never attacked you in the first place."
"But why jiji? Why would he attack me? What have I done to be this hated and attacked? I tried to wait for you to tell me ,but you have avoided saying anything all this time. So please, tell me!" Finished Naruto. At this point he just wanted to know and was done waiting.
He saw his jiji rub his face, very much showing his tiredness and seemed for the first time in a long time to be feeling his age. Quite clearly this was affecting him strongly. What he was about to reveal must be truly substantial.
"Please promise me you won't say this to anyone, Naruto-chan. What I'm about to tell you is something that should be kept secret, however, I'll trust that you will keep this to yourself." taking a deep breath he continued, for better or worse. " Do you know what a jinchūriki is, Naruto-chan?"
Seeing a confused expression on his face, the Sarutobi continued to explain the situation to him. While at the beginning he was confused, it slowly turned to shock and then to understanding. He had finally understood everything that had happened to him at this point. He finally understood the motivation of the people hating his guts and even attacking him. They really are stupid to think of him as the monster that attacked them all those years ago. When he was nothing but the vessel it is locked in.
However there was something else that Naruto wanted to be clarified to him. How did the shinobi die exactly?
"Um…jiji, did I accidentally kill him with the kyuubi's power, or was it something else that I did?" He asked hesitantly.
"That's part of what I also wanted to discuss today, Naruto-chan. It wasn't the kyuubi's power that had finished the ninja. It was something else, something really strange the medical team found. I wanted to be here to see if you had a bloodline of sorts to find out. Now do me a favor and channel chakra to your hands if you can please."
Looking skeptically at his jiji for claiming a bloodline, Naruto did as he was told anyway.
Focusing his chakra to his hand, he was shocked when a pitch black material started to form in his hand in a sort of a sphere shape. It was very dark, almost what someone would picture a void would look like, and to him almost vibrating in a barely noticeable humm. He looked back at his jiji in complete shock. Meanwhile Hiruzen looked on with a calculated expression. Having confirmed what his medical team told him of the presence of a strange material being something Naruto could have conjured in the body of the shinobi. He was skeptical in the beginning, but now he had no doubt that this was the same rod-like material that had skewered shinobi that attacked Naruto.
"It seems Naruto-chan that you unlocked something I haven't seen before. We are still working on identifying what this material is. However, you need to know that it's extremely dangerous for anyone else to touch it. So for now I want you to try to not use it. See if you can recall it into your body and control it. It could seriously hurt someone that comes in contact with even a little bit of it."
Doing as he was told, Naruto proceeded to try and recall the material back and make it disappear. It took less than 2 seconds to see it suddenly go back into his hands and completely disappear. Infact, it sorta gave him little tingles while it did that in his hands.
Seeing it completely retract, Hiruzen gave Naruto a pat on his head and bid him to get some rest. He had lots of work to do regarding the incident and the seemingly new bloodline that popped up out of nowhere. However he was determined to make something good out of this incident and have the boy come out of it a little better off.
For Naruto, this was a day full of shocks that if he was being honest with himself couldn't fully comprehend yet. So he laid back and started to think about everything that had happened so far. While he was understanding of how the people of this village felt, he had no remorse for those that would attack him like the one did yesterday. If they attacked him, he had a right to defend himself like his jiji said he did. He will still be a shinobi for the village that's for sure, however he won't be doing it for those that hated him, nor would he try to change their opinions of him. Instead he would protect the people that would become his friends and family. That's what he would strive for.
Finding out about his bloodline was also a top priority for him now. Something like this for a shinobi is very important. He sees a golden opportunity to be very strong among others if what his jiji said is true about his bloodline. Being able to destroy anything that the material comes in contact with was scary. However, it's also something that can make being a shinobi much easier. For now he would focus on training this ability as much as he can and see what's in store for him in the future.
Commanding the material seemed to be easy. He pushed his chakra through his hand again and imagined the material coming through in the shape of a staph. It slowly materialized into his hand until he held it with both hands. Observing it closely he saw that it had a ring on the very top, with even more rings within the one large ring. He did not imagine something like that when he wanted the staff to be created, yet it came out to look like that for some reason. Just another mystery he will have to solve oneday. For now he got rid of the strange material again and proceeded to try and get some more sleep. Afterall, today was exhausting with all the revelations he was given.
