Tom walked into the room, pausing by the door as his eyes landed on Sybil reading concentratedly on their small couch.
A smile tilted his mouth upwards as he let it settle in again that he got to be her husband for the rest of their lives.
Nothing would make him happier than that lovely thought.
Sybil, despite being so focused on her reading, could feel eyes on her and glanced up. "Hi, Tom."
"Hello."
She uncurled from her spot on the couch and walked over to slip her arms around his neck. "What were you doing just now? Simply watching me?"
He nodded as he wrapped his arms around her waist. "As a matter of fact, I was. Nothing brings me more joy than watching my lovely wife."
"What about kissing 'your lovely wife'?" she smirked a little.
His eyebrows rose. "Er- you make a point. I'd need you to kiss me to determine which is better."
Her nostrils flared with a small laugh. "Very smooth, love."
He chuckled, then leaned down and pressed his lips to hers.
After a moment, he broke away slowly and gazed into her eyes as he pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. "I think it's a tie."
