"Kira! Watch your 6!" yelled Daito.

Kira checked his rearview mirror again before making a sharp left turn and barely an oncoming car.

"Still on me," commented Kira.

"Kira, this is your car, right?" asked Daito.

"Yep. Why?"

"Good. Then you don't have to worry about getting Lacus a new car. Also, they're on your left."

Kira turned just in time to see an Alfa Romeo racing towards him at full speed. Thinking quickly, he sped up and threw a hard left to lessen the impact on his black Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante. The crash threw him into a spin which caused him to hip check a lamp post and smash out one of his rear lights.

"Damn it," cursed Kira. He looked to see the thugs getting ready to ram his car again so he floored the gas pedal and drove off in hopes of losing them. His hopes were quickly dashed when he heard the horn of a large freightliner truck which then slammed into his vehicle, causing it to flip and roll several meters down the street.

This time, the damage was more severe as all the windshields were shattered and there were numerous dents and scratches on the car. Luckily, the car landed rightside up, and was still capable of running so after a series of curses, Kira floored the gas and narrowly avoided the thugs' oncoming Alfa Romeo.

"Daito, I'm gonna have to split. Mind lending me a car after this?" asked Kira.

"No problem. Where do you wanna meet?"

Kira jerked forward as one of the Alfa Romeos rear-ended him and pulled up next to him.

"Uh. Come over to Mu's place tomorrow unless you wanna help me pay for flowers."

Kira hung up and slammed the side of his V8 Vantage into the thugs' car and tried to force them off the road. However, they hung on and moments later, began pushing back, destroying the right mirror of the Vantage and scraping several bits of metal on the right side.

One of the thugs took this as an opportunity to smash the left mirror and put several additional dents on the car. Kira responded by pulling out a P99 he had hidden in the glove compartment and firing several shots at the thugs' vehicle, causing them to pull back and slam his car again.

The blow caused Kira to drop his gun and smash into an ice cream cart, which to his relief, was pushed aside with minimal damage instead of flattened and coating his ruined car in sweet treats.

"Alright. They asked for it."

Kira slowed down and allowed the thugs' Alfa Romeo to pull ahead of him before flicking a hidden switch on his center console to reveal several buttons and switches for his car's features. He then pressed a button to arm and reveal a pair of hidden missiles stationed underneath the front lights of his car.

"Front windshield missing. Targeting system offline," informed a robotic voice.

"I'm eyeballing it."

Kira positioned the thugs' car directly in his line of sight before pressing another button that fired his chosen projectiles. One of the thugs caught sight of the rockets and began yelling to alert his allies but it was too late. The car exploded and sent its remnants flying in all directions. To Kira's relief though, the thugs had managed to jump out at the last second and suffered seemingly minor injuries from the blast.

The chase wasn't over yet as another Alfa Romeo pulled up behind him and narrowly missed ramming Kira's Aston Martin. Seeing the other car, Kira shifted gears and pulled ahead to gain some distance from his pursuers. Pressing the button for his missiles again, he was quickly greeted by his robotic assistant who delivered some bad news.

"No missiles remaining."

Kira cursed under his breath as he sped away with a stolen sports car on his tail.

"Well…" started Shiho. "This doesn't look good."

"Yep. It will take a few months to patch this giant hole up," agreed Yzak.

The two had been sent by Lacus to check on the damage done to Kira and Lacus' home and found that not only was the kitchen, living room, and dining room burned to a crisp but there was a massive hole on the side where the three rooms once were.

"It looks as if a bomb exploded instead of a kitchen fire," commented Shiho.

"Yeah. I've never seen anything like this before," commented Yzak. "Not even Athrun came close to doing this much damage back at-"

He was cut off by the sound of an incoming car speeding down the street. Turning around, he and Shiho saw a heavily damaged black Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante roaring down the quiet neighborhood with all its windshields smashed and numerous dents and scratches on every part of the car.

It was almost unrecognizable and had it not been for the Aston Martin logo that was miraculously intact on the hood of the car, Yzak wouldn't have brushed his thoughts aside on who the owner was.

Moments after it sped away from their view, a black Alfa Romeo 159 zoomed right after it and disappeared moments later.

"Was that Kira's car?" asked Yzak.

"I don't think so," replied Shiho. "In anycase, we are heading to Mu La Flaga's place. If Kira's not there then maybe you're right. That was Kira's car."

As they got back into their vehicle, Yzak decided to share his thoughts about the car.

"Well, think about it," said Yzak. "How many people do we know own a black Aston Martin?"

"Only Kira," answered Shiho. "And maybe Dearka."

"That one doesn't count. It's a rental," said Yzak as he started the engine and drove him and Shiho to their next destination.

"By the way, I'm going to be gone for a few days," informed Shiho. "No time to prepare any leftovers so…"

"I understand," replied Yzak. "I'll crash with Commander Kira and La Flaga. It's better than having to deal with the last time I tried to cook."

Shiho laughed at the memory as they left the ruins of Kira and Lacus' home behind them and headed for Mu's.

"I get they wanted my car, but seriously, do they actually want it this badly?" asked Kira outloud. He hadn't expected the thugs to be this persistent nor had he planned for his car's custom modifications to be field tested in this manner.

"I'm just glad Cagalli gave me special permission to add all these new features," commented Kira as he narrowly avoided another truck as he dangerously weaved in and out of traffic.

"I seriously wonder what Daito's doing right. On the other hand, where are the cops? They should've gotten numerous reports on me right now."

Right on cue, Kira saw several cars with flashing sirens driving past him.

"Took them long enough. They're going the wrong way though."

Just then, the thugs' Alfa Romeo rammed into the right side of Kira's Aston Martin and began pushing it off a ledge. Acting quickly, Kira recovered his pistol and emptied the remaining rounds on the thugs' car. However, all his shots had missed both the passengers and driver of the car with only the windshields and seats getting damaged from his bullets.

As Kira reloaded his weapon, his car got closer and closer to the ledge until finally, the ultimate coordinator activated his concealed lasers from the starboard wheel spinners and blew out the Alfa Romeo's tires. However, by then, the only thing that kept Kira's car from going off the edge was a small tree that was ready to give out at any moment.

Left with no choice, Kira grabbed his phone, gun, and several spare mags from the car before crawling out the back where his rear windshield used to be. Moments later, the tree gave way and his Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante hit the ground with a loud crash that rendered the car inoperable.

"Good thing I didn't install that self-destruct system," though Kira. He then fired his pistol at the approaching thugs, aiming for their arms and legs to incapacitate them. Once all the thugs were down, Kira put away his pistol and went to get a closer look at his vehicle. As far as he was concerned, it was definitely beyond saving but still, that didn't mean there weren't people who were willing to take the time and money to restore his car.

Any chance at recovery was lost though as the police arrived and surrounded the wrecked Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante and soon after, began making their way up to the Alfa Romeo where the thugs were. Seeing this, Kira figured it was probably better to just get a new car than go through all the trouble and paperwork needed to get back his destroyed car.

"Well, looks like it's getting one last look on television before going to the scrapyard," commented Kira as several news helicopters flew past him. "Taxi!"

Kira tried to flag down a cab but the driver ignored him and soon disappeared from Kira's view.

"Looks like I'm walking."

With that, Kira began the long trek back to Mu La Flaga's house.

"Hey guys! Kira's back!" yelled Shinn.

"Oh finally," declared Waltfeld. "It was getting boring waiting for him."

Mu La Flaga opened the door to let Kira. However, it wasn't until Kira was in the house that he realized something was off.

"Kira, where's your car?"

"Oh. Ahh…" started Kira. He had tried to come up with reasonable excuses on his walk but before he could even pick one, he was already back at La Flaga's place.

"It's on the news," was all Kira managed to say before Athrun turned on the TV to see none other than Kira's wrecked Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante on screen.

"How in the world? Is this why Yzak was asking about you earlier? What did you do?" asked Shinn.

Kira sighed as he took a seat on the sofa.

"It's a long story. Trust me."
