Chapter 7

The next few days following the revelations at Riddle Manor were filled with owls.

Dear Percy,

Thank you so much for your letter, it does help to have your perspective and I understand your estrangement from your family quite well following the revelations of the last few weeks.

I feel much better knowing both Charlie and Bill are of the same mind on this and now quite understand their move to another country each following their graduations.

Thank you again for your insight, and the details relating to the ministry.

I hope to see you soon,

Yours,

Hermione x

My dear Hermione,

Thank you for meeting me today, I understand it has been quite a lot to process.

I have enclosed in this letter a few books you might find interesting personally and on the subjects we've discussed.

Do not hesitate to contact Severus if you need anything.

I am of course always available.

I will owl you in a couple of days regarding our meeting with Amelia Bones, hopefully freeing Sirius Black officially will move things along quite nicely, while righting a terrible wrong.

I love you, always,

Your father

Dear Percy,

I have been reading a very interesting book on the department of mysteries, the Time room specifically, and it mentions how little Unspeakables use time-turners due to the strain it causes on a person's magical core.

I am unsure if you are aware, and I had been told I wasn't allowed to talk about it at the time, but I used a time-turner almost everyday my 3rd year, given to me by Professor Dumbledore so I could take all the classes offered. None of the information I'm reading now was given to me at the time, I was made to feel I was given a very serious privilege and only told a few rules.

I am now very much worried about how the use of the device may have affected me, I know I am older than I should be, but beyond that should I be consulting a healer or someone else?

I don't even know if you can help on this subject, but knowing what I do know, I'm afraid to ask Father about it.

Let me know,

Yours,

Hermione x

Dear Hermione,

Please do not worry, while there is cause for concern I do know someone who can help.

I was aware of the time-turner use, sadly I was informed much too late and couldn't stop it at the time.

I have asked Saul Croaker of the department of mysteries to take a look at you, to make sure everything is fine. He is a trusted ally, do not worry.

He'll be at Riddle Manor tomorrow at 2 pm.

I'll see you then,

Yours,

Percy Weasley

Headmaster Dumbledore,

It has come to my attention that the time-turner you requested from the department of mysteries in August 1993 for a matter of national security regarding the escapee Sirius Black was not used in this intended manner.

Instead you gave the device to a 13 years old student, without outlining the risks on a still developing magical core, and without the approval of the department of mysteries.

As a consequence, you are hereafter banned from entering the department of mysteries.

Any devices or objects in your possession have been transported back.

You are extremely lucky the student wasn't harmed, or this letter would have been accompanying another one from the DMLE.

Saul Croaker

Head of the Department of Mysteries

Dear Professor Snape,

I appreciate your apologies regarding your persona and behaviour while at Hogwarts, but I understand you were in an impossible situation.

While I'm still not completely sure why Professor Dumbledore requests such a rivalry between Houses, or why he encourages you to be harsher to half blood and muggleborns, I do understand you have little choice in the matter.

Everything I've been learning is painting a clear picture of his intentions and I know I am dragging my feet in acknowledging it.

It is difficult to accept the long-term enemy you should have been fearing all along, has been sitting there the whole time smiling serenely.
