Same Day: Rooftop
Steven, Marcy, Mabel, Pacifica, and Mordecai interrogate Gunnar Maelstrom about Ronaldo's algorithm and Project Insight. Mordecai, wearing his special jet-pack equipment suit, Mabel's Iron Woman suit, is standing nearby with Mabel wearing her Pines headset.
Steven, confused by Gunnar's statement about Ronaldo's algorithm predicting people who will be a threat to HYDRA in the future, asks, "In the Future? How could it know?" Mordecai narrows his eyes, confused, as his goggles are pushed up to his forehead. He steps closer to Gunnar.
Gunnar laughs, "How could it not?" He stands up in front of Steven, telling him seriously, "The 21st century is a digital book. Ronaldo taught HYDRA how to read it." Steven, Marcy, Pacifica, and Mabel look at him in confusion. Gunnar glances at them, telling them, "Your bank records, medical histories, voting patterns, emails, phone calls, your damn SAT scores! Ronaldo's algorithm evaluates people's past to predict the future."
Mabel asks Gunnar, "And what then?"
Gunnar's breathing picks up, and he looks down, thinking, not answering Mabel but muttering to himself, "Oh, my God. Nathan is gonna kill me."
Steven steps forward, "What then?" Gunnar takes a step back, only to be stopped by Mordecai, who grips the shoulder of his jacket. Marcy and Pacifica cautiously step forward.
Gunnar looks at Steven, "Then the Insight Helicarriers scratch people off the list, a few millions at a time." Steven and Mabel share a surprised, horrified look.
Minutes Later: Highway
Mordecai's 8-seater car drives on the highway, heading toward the Triskelion.
Inside: Mordecai's Car
Mordecai drives, Steven is in the passenger seat, Pacifica is beside Gunnar in the backseat, and Mabel and Marcy are in the far back of the car, with the Iron Woman suit sitting beside Mabel.
Gunnar says, "HYDRA doesn't like leaks."
Mordecai glares at Gunnar through his rear-view-mirror, "Then why don't you try sticking a cork in it?"
Marcy shouts a bit from the back, behind Gunnar, "Insight's launching in 16 hours. We're cutting it a little bit close here."
Steven looks out the window, "I know. We'll use him to bypass the DNA scans and access the Helicarriers directly."
Gunnar looks at Steven with wide eyes, "What?" He leans forward, "Are you crazy?" Everyone sighs and rolls their eyes in annoyance before looking at him, "That is a terrible, terrible idea."
Suddenly, a thud sound is heard from the roof. They all look up, and a metal hand breaks the backseat window, grabs Gunnar, and throws him out to the oncoming traffic on the other side of the highway, killing him.
Pacifica's eyes widen, and she hears and sees the male Diamond Soldier grab his gun while he stands back up on the car. She looks up at the roof, quickly climbs to the front, and drops in Steven's lap as the male soldier shoots through the roof and hits Pacifica's headrest, trying to kill her. Just as Mabel quickly activates her suit, it opens up, and she quickly shifts over, dropping into the suit. It attaches as Mabel pulls Marcy to her, and another thud sound is heard, meaning the female Diamond Soldier also landed on the car.
Outside: Highway
On the roof of the car, side by side, the Diamond Soldiers aim their guns at the roof.
Inside: Mordecai's Car
Pacifica quickly wraps her arms around Steven's neck and pulls him closer as a shot comes through the roof and hits the headrest of Steven's seat. Then Pacifica nuzzles Mordecai to the side with her foot as another shot comes through and hits Mordecai's headrest.
Mabel, in her suit, takes both bullet shots when fired through the roof as she covers Marcy. Steven then shifts the gear to PARK, making the car screech to a sudden stop, throwing off both Diamond Soldiers. They watch as the two soldiers fly forward.
Outside: Highway
The male soldier quickly grabs the female soldier as they flip down and roll up to their knees. His metal-left arm and her metal-right hand slam into the cement, slicing it through as they skid to a stop.
Inside: Mordecai's Car
Everyone in the car looks out the windshield towards the Diamond Soldiers, their eyes widened.
Outside: Highway
The two masked soldiers stand patiently while cars move out of the way of Mordecai's stopped car. From behind, a black Hummer drives fast towards Mordecai's car from behind.
Inside: Mordecai's Car
Pacifica quickly grabs her gun and aims it at the soldiers just as the Hummer smashes into Mordecai's car, making Pacifica drop her gun.
The Hummer pushes them along towards the soldiers while Mordecai presses the brakes, holding onto the steering wheel.
Outside: Highway
As Mordecai's car gets closer to the Diamond Soldiers, the two jump up and flip towards the car, grabbing the roof and dropping down, bending the roof a bit of their weight and breaking the rear window.
Inside: Mordecai's Car
Marcy quickly grabs her gun and aims it at the Hummer behind them, shooting at the driver, but the bullets bounce off the bulletproof windshield as Mordecai slams the brakes, trying to get the Hummer to stop but failing. Pacifica reaches down to find her gun as she holds onto Steven.
Outside: Highway
The two masked soldiers sit up on their knees. The male soldier holds up his metal arm, smashes through the windshield, grabs the steering wheel, and pulls it out.
Inside: Mordecai's Car
Mordecai screams as he loses the steering wheel, "Shit!" The female soldier reaches through the broken back window, grabs Mabel/Iron Woman by the shoulder, and throws her out of the car, catching Mabel and Marcy off guard.
Marcy stops shooting at the Hummer driver and watches, completely surprised, through the window as Mabel/Iron Woman falls down the edge of the highway, out of sight.
Pacifica finds her gun and starts shooting at the roof, towards the male soldier, while Marcy lays back in the seat, shooting up towards the female soldier.
Outside: Highway
The two Diamond Soldiers avoid the bullets and jump onto the Hummer behind them.
The two soldiers hold on to the Hummer while they kneel on the hood and watch as Mordecai's car loses control and goes side to side as there is no steering wheel to control it.
Inside: Mordecai's Car
Marcy quickly climbs across the car to the front as the Hummer speeds forward.
Outside: Highway
The Hummer speeds up and hits Mordecai's uncontrolled car. It turns to the side, and the front hits the wall that's separating the highways, causing the car to stumble on its side.
Inside: Mordecai's Car
Steven holds on to the car door with his shield on his arm as Marcy drops down on Pacifica. Steven pulls the two women closer and shouts to them all, "Hang on!" The two women both hold on to Steven as he grabs Mordecai's shoulder and pulls him closer, all the while the car flips over.
Steven opens the door as the car flips mid-air. He holds onto Pacifica, Marcy, and Mordecai as they drop down to the highway.
Outside: Highway
Mordecai's car flips forward, smashing and collapsing down onto the road as Steven, Pacifica, Marcy, and Mordecai slide down the road on the car door. The Hummer drives past them.
As the car door slows down, Mordecai separates from the three and rolls on the road. The three slides to a stop. Marcy and Pacifica climb off of Steven. The Hummer stops abruptly, and the two soldiers slide off the hood.
They casually walk forward as HYDRA agents get out of the Hummer. One agent hands the male soldier a grenade launcher, and as they go do the same for the female, Mabel/Iron Woman suddenly grabbed her as she flies back towards the highway.
The male soldier and the agents look up as the female soldier lays a punch towards Mabel. Knowing that she can handle Mabel, the men move forward to the four on the road.
The male soldier shoots a grenade-launcher at the three by the car-door, Steven quickly pushes the two women and they run to the side as Steven drops to one knee, holding his shield up and the bomb hits Steven's shield, it explodes pushes Steven back, gazing a stopped car and throws Steven completely off the highway down towards a transit bus.
Inside: Transit Bus
Steven crashes and smashes through the front window, bouncing off the floor, making people scream in fear, and also making the driver look back and not pay attention to the road.
Outside: Street
Another large truck crashed into the transport bus, causing people to scream in fear as the bus flipped to its side and stopped traffic around it.
Highway
The male Diamond Soldier and the HYDRA agents move forward towards Mordecai, Pacifica, and Marcy, who all hide behind two vehicles as the agents shoot at them.
The trio ducks and hides: Pacifica is behind a minivan, and Marcy and Mordecai hide behind a car. Pacifica and Marcy shoot back at them, and then Marcy ducks as more shots come her way, and Mordecai leads her away.
Pacifica continues to shoot the HYDRA agents while they shoot back. The male soldier shoots his grenade launcher toward Pacifica, whose eyes widen. She quickly turns towards the wall. Using her free hand to push up, she jumps over the cement wall and lands on the other side in a crouch as the minivan behind her explodes, and the glass rains down on her.
Pacifica quickly looks over her shoulder and somersaults across the road as a brake-screeching car drives past her, almost hitting her. Pacifica quickly stands up and runs forward. She jumps and rolls across the hood of a car, just missing the bullets as the HYDRA agents continue to shoot at her.
The male soldier watches as Pacifica runs towards a Porsche and hides behind it. He shoots his grenade launcher at it.
The Porsche explodes, and Pacifica quickly jumps and dives off the highway ledge, activating her Pines grappling hook tech. It attaches under the bridge, and she swings her way down as the exploded Porsche falls off the bridge as well and crashes down on the road.
Pacifica lands smoothly, unhooking her tech from the bridge as she runs forward under the bridge.
The male soldier hands his grenade launcher to an agent and casually walks towards the edge of the highway behind him while another agent gives him a gun. The male Diamond Soldier aims his gun down and waits for any of his targets to come around.
Still holding her gun as she runs towards the other side of the bridge, Pacifica sees the male soldier's shadow on the edge.
The male soldier looks around the flipped bus, and goes to shoot when he sees movement, but suddenly, a shot rings and a bullet hits the male soldier's goggle-eye.
Pacifica continues to shoot as the male soldier ducks for cover.
The male soldier has his back against the wall. He removes his goggles, revealing his dark brown eyes, which are now full of anger. He grips his gun and quickly stands up, shooting down towards the edge where Pacifica is standing.
Pacifica, hiding behind the crashed truck, shoots up at the male soldier. He ducks down for cover. She continues shooting until she runs out of bullets.
The male soldier stands back up and starts shooting at Pacifica, who presses her back against the truck as the Diamond Soldier shoots at her.
