The sky got cloudy as two hours had passed and the rain begins to fall. Yet Knuckles couldn't feel the rain at all.

Sonic cried in his brothers arms while the rain poured.

"Why? Why did it happen to him of all people?" Sonic asked in tears.

"Calm down brother. They'll be resting in peace. But, on the bright side. Eggman is gone forever and is all thanks to you." Seelkadoom said as he pats Sonics back.

"Bad enough my little sis had a thing for him and the same goes baby brother. I'll never know what they see in him." Manic muttered to Seelkadoom.

"Oh, guys... Don't get me wrong, I sad about Amy, Sticks, and Tails as well but... it hurts so much. Knowing Knuckles will never come back." Sonic said in a depressed tone.

"I'm such a wreck without him." Sonic muttered as he whimpered.

"Uhhh, what? Sonic. I'm right here! What are you talking about?" Knuckles said as he walks to him and tries to touch him but to his shock.

It went through him. "What is happening?!" Knuckles asked in shock as he steps back.

"I just don't know what to do now. There's nothing left for me here." Sonic said 'finally calming down a little '.

"I wish... I had a chance to tell Knuckles..." Sonic said to them.

"TELL ME WHAT?! WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO TELL ME?!" Knuckles shouted but no reaction.

"...I...I...I WISH HAD A CHANCE TO KNUCKLES! I LOVE HIM!!" Sonic blurted out as tears were ready to poor down as his face was red.

Knuckles eyes widened at this. What Sonic had said out loud.

"Wh-What..? S-Sonic..." Knuckles said while stuttering.

"Ugh. I blurt it out.. For once, I agree. If Knuckles were alive today he would say 'Not cool Sonic'. He would probably be disgusted at me." Sonic said while thinking in despair.

"No. Sonic we don't know if he would be disgusted by it. He would just be conflicted." Seelkadoom said in comfort.

"I-I can't believe this... H-He... loves me? Sonic... Loves me? Oh Sonic. This is... What you were trying to tell me." Knuckles said in shock and despair.

Sonic felt like crying again.

But when he was about to calm down before a gurney with a white sheet covering what looked like a body.

Knuckles looked at it.

That was when Sonics eyes widened before he went hysterical while crying and tried to rush to whoever is was under that sheet but Seelkadoom and Manic kept him still and stopped him.

"Oh God! Knux! No fucking doubt. I wanted to be with him!! But now he's dead!" Sonic screamed in hysterical while looking at a familiar red gloved hand dangling.

Knuckles eyes widened in fright as he sees it was him under that sheet. He recognizes his hand dangling as he couldn't believe what he is seeing.

"G-get the corpse to the morgue with the rest of the bodies now!!" Manic shouted.

"Yes sir!" The coroners said as they obeyed.

Sonic was crying in both their arms 'feeling so much heart break and despair than before'.

"Oh Knuc...kles... I love him so much. Ever since that day... just after he set me free... He saved me. If only I told him sooner. If only I realized sooner. I..." Sonic said while crying but trailed off while grieving'.

It made sense to Knuckles. That day of the designated hero's thing was finished and Knuckles sat Sonic free from the force field with Eggman 'out of pity'. It was the day Sonic fell in love with him.

"So Sonic, fell in love with me that day. & I didn't see it. How come I didn't see the signs? I maybe dumb... But it doesn't mean I dunno what love is. Oh Sonic..." Knuckles said before feeling so frightened and sad.

The three hedgehogs stood up as Sonic sniffed and tears streaming down his eyes.

"We'll be right back Sonic. But stay under the gazebo over there to stay dry." Manic said to his hysterical brother.

Sonic obeyed and speeds to the gazebo.

Knuckles couldn't even recommend what just happened but Sonics feelings for him was something Knuckles found a bit heartfelt but heartbreaking.

It wasn't long until Tails and the girls caught up with him.
