Hello my lovelies, welcome to chapter three. I've only just finished this chapter so it might be a while before chapter four, but don't worry I'm working on it.
I own nothing Junjou Romantica related. Pls read the original material. It's really good.
Anyway enjoy.
Chapter three: The Wedding.
Akihiko.
Akihiko watched as the stunning woman was escorted by her father down the isle, her dress was alabaster white with silver roses stitched to the waist. Her red hair was curled and flowed effortlessly down the open backed dress, with two silver rose clips at each side of her hair to keep it out of her face. Her makeup completed the look, not that she needed it. She truly was stunning. No wonder Takahiro couldn't resist her, and Akihiko knew with 100% certainty, he had to get over this crush.
The father and daughter made their way to the groom and Manami's father placed his daughter's hand into Takahiro's. He kissed her on the cheek and took his place among the guests with tears in his eyes. Misaki stood next to Takahiro holding the wedding rings, he stood as straight as he could, not moving an inch. Akihiko wondered if he wasn't moving to make sure he didn't mess anything up.
Vows were exchanged, then the rings, and finally the two love birds shared a passionate kiss. Akihiko watched the two make their way back down the isle and they left the church, into the wedding car. It was time for the reception.
Akihiko looked back at Misaki who still stood where he was originally, looking a little lost. Akihiko made his way to the young man and placed a hand on his shoulder. Misaki jumped at the contact, but Akihiko announced himself quickly. "Hey, it's only me."
"Oh, Usami-San." Misaki sighed a little now knowing who it was. "I hope you're ready for dancing."
"Sure thing, Misaki." Akihiko started to guide Misaki from the front and towards the exit.
Once inside the car Misaki spoke up. "How are you feeling?" He asked seemingly out of the blue.
"What do you mean?" Akihiko replied, he hadn't been prepared for this question. However, he did know what he meant. Misaki had been paying more attention than he let on.
"I'm sorry." Misaki spoke softly. "I've just noticed that things have gotten more strained between you and Nii-Chan, and I think I can guess why."
Akihiko let out a half groan half sigh. "Am I really that obvious?" He asked, already knowing the answer.
"You're good at hiding it." Misaki said unexpectedly. "But I tend to notice things others don't. Like when you're in a conversation with multiple people and Nii-Chan is there, you tend to ignore everyone's input but his. And when ever he brings up Manami in conversation you become more reserved and just agree with whatever Nii-Chan is saying. Today must have been difficult."
"It was." Akihiko admitted. "But it also gave me some well needed clarity. Takahiro is a great friend but that's all his ever going to be, I accepted that today." He hated the way his voice cracked and the unshed tears that threatened to brim over.
Then he felt a warm hand envelop his own, he looked over at Misaki who had tears in his eyes. "I'm so sorry, Usami-San." And that was it. The tears fell from Akihiko's eyes, and he started to sob. Misaki opened his arms and Akihiko hid his face on the young man's shoulder. Misaki just held him and let him cry.
Misaki.
Misaki's body shook with the man's sobs. He listened to the whimpers that escaped his lips, even though he was trying to stay quiet. He felt the red-hot tears seep into his jacket. But all Misaki could do was hold him. Hold him and hope it helped. Hold him and give him comfort.
His hand found the man's soft hair and he started to stroke it, his other hand running circles on his back. He didn't speak, he didn't want to. All he wanted in this moment was to hold the man who needed someone to hold him.
Time passed and Akihiko's tears stopped, but neither let go. It was like a spell had been cast, and if either of them moved the spell would be lifted.
Eventually Misaki felt Akihiko pull away, so he dropped him arms giving the man his freedom. Then he felt a cold large hand press against his cheeks. "Thank you, Misaki." He heard the smooth voice say. Before he could reply he felt something brush his lips. Warm, wet lips captured his and he didn't pull away. Instead he leaned into the kiss and was rewarded with Akihiko's tongue licking his lips.
Misaki opened for him, and he could taste the author. A mix of tobacco, mint, butter and something sweet he couldn't quite discern. The kiss was slow, meaningful, gentle and heartfelt. There was a message in that kiss, saying something in a language Misaki didn't recognise, but somehow, he knew what was being said.
When they broke apart Misaki felt then man's forehead press against his own. "Let's get going." He heard Akihiko say. "We don't wanna be late."
The reception hall was packed. Misaki sat alone at one of the tables whilst everyone else was dancing. He was useless on the dance floor, he couldn't dance, he would most likely bump into people, he would lose his place and likely get lost, not knowing what direction would lead him out of the chaos.
He took this time to think about what happened in the car. He knew he should be more concerned about Akihiko's feelings, and he was, but that was his first kiss, and it was amazing. Even now, hours later, he could still taste that unidentified sweetness, and there was still that tingle that lingered on his lips. He also knew that it would probably never happen again, Akihiko kissed him because he was hurting. He needed comfort and Misaki was there. He couldn't see anything happening between the two of them in the long run, he was the brother of the man who always overlooked Akihiko. If anything did happen it would be out of wanting something he couldn't get and Misaki was not going to be used like that. So that was that. One kiss. Nothing else was going to happen between them.
Misaki heard the chair next to him scrape against the floor and then someone bumped his shoulder as they sat down, right next to him. The person didn't announce themselves and Misaki was getting rather uncomfortable.
"Hello." He said to break the tension.
"Hi." Came a man's voice he didn't recognise. "So, your Takahiro's brother?" He asked.
"Yes, I'm Misaki, and you are …?" Misaki asked hoping to find out who was sitting next to him.
The man didn't answer his question, instead choosing to ask a question of his own. "Why aren't you dancing? Didn't you know it's disrespectful not to dance at a wedding."
Misaki didn't know how to react to this, so he stayed silent, hoping this man would leave him alone, it didn't work. "Why are you wearing glasses inside, do you think you're all cool or something?" Still Misaki remained silent. "What? You can't talk now? How about doing something useful instead of just sitting there. You look like you can't be asked with anything, acting like you're too cool for your own brother's wedding."
Misaki could feel a sting in his eyes, he wasn't going to cry. Not in front of this horrible man who would not leave him alone. He was lucky he could hide behind his glasses for now. But then the man did something unexpected. He took the glasses off Misaki's face. Misaki shut his eyes immediately. He hated how vulnerable he felt without his them, when people could see his white pupils.
"Give them back." Misaki demanded with real anger in his voice. He wanted to punch this stranger for being so indignant.
"Oh, he speaks." Came the man's voice. "I can't see a damn thing out these." Misaki felt his gut clench. This bastard was wearing his black out glasses. The anger and humiliation rose from his stomach to his throat. He felt like he was going to be sick.
"Give them back." He hissed through his teeth. Holding out his hand waiting for them to be returned. He had no such luck.
"Why do you have your eyes closed? What's wrong with you?" The man's voice was mocking now.
"I'm blind you ignorant fuck." He said in a fit of anger. "Now give me back my glasses." He nearly shouted. The music was loud enough to cover his raised voice.
It worked though and Misaki had his glasses back on his face in a matter of moments. The man next to him stayed quiet, Misaki wanted him to leave but he didn't.
"Misaki." Came Manami's and relief flooded Misaki.
"Manami?" He asked just to be sure.
"Yes, it's me. What's going on, I heard you shout?"
Oops, his momentary laps of his emotions had caused a scene. He could still hear the music and people dancing and talking, so he couldn't have caused too much of a commotion.
"Sis," came the stranger's voice next to him, "why didn't you tell me he was blind?"
"Because it wasn't my place to say. Why? Did you do something?" Manami asked, a hint of annoyance in her voice.
So he was Manami's brother. Kajiwara is their family name. "Kajiwara-San, I'm sorry for getting upset, but please don't do that again." Misaki said in a firm but less angry tone. He was still rather upset.
"Kaito, what did you do?" Manami's voice came, much angrier this time.
"Manami, please don't be upset. It's over now." Misaki said in soft tone, he didn't want her getting upset over this.
"Misaki, I'm glad you're willing to forgive my brother so easily, but if Kaito did something to upset you, then please tell me." Manami asked sternly.
Kaito stayed quiet, so Misaki spoke up again. He hated the fact that he was upsetting the bride on her wedding day. "It was misunderstanding. Kaito-San thought I was disrespecting your union with Nii-Chan by not dancing, but it's sorted now. There's nothing to worry about."
"Okay Misaki, but Kaito, I want you to apologise to him properly, and mean it." Her tone left no room for argument.
"Yes Nii-San." Came Kaito's voice and Misaki heard Manami's heels on the wooden floor retreating. He sighed with relief now that it was over. "Why did you cover for me?" Kaito asked.
"It wasn't for you." Misaki replied, still angry with the man who didn't respect his boundaries. "It's Manami's and Nii-Chan's wedding day, and I want them to remember this day fondly and I don't want to ruin it with a petty argument."
"I am sorry, and I'm not just saying because my sister told me to. I didn't know that you're blind."
"That's not the problem." Misaki retorted quickly. "You sat down next to me without telling me who you are. You accuse me of not caring for my family without thinking why I'm not participating. You insult my character and then you have the nerve to take my glasses off my face without my consent and then continue to mock me further. If I wasn't blind, then you would've continued with this barbaric assault on my character with no remorse or understanding. Saying that you're only sorry because I'm blind puts all the blame on my blindness and not your actions." Misaki was breathing heavily when he finished speaking, the anger in him starting to dissipate now he had said his piece.
"What!" Came a very familiar, smooth voice.
