Chapter 11: Blessing of the Wilderness
As the match had ended and Artemis stood there she looked up at Order with a huge blush on her face. Order stood up and snapped his finger, a podium rising from the ground with a handprint on it. Order rose his voice to make sure everyone could hear him. "As that is the conclusion of round one with Percy being the victor he shall now receive the blessing of the wild. Artemis if you may please place your hand on the console to make the process easy." At this Artemis nods and she places her hand on the podium. A green light emanates from the area as she steps back and smiles. For a second I could not keep my eyes off her as she turned and blushed looking away as Order continued to speak. "And now for the decision of the second gift. Artemis, have you chosen what your gift will be." Artemis looked down as she was fiddling with her parka. She was about to speak before I interjected. "Order if I may. Could we save the second gift till later. I would not want to get too strong beforehand or cause any more distractions to anyone else. And anyways I think it would give her more time to think about it." I smile at Artemis as she nods her head and mouths a thank you as Order just shrugged and said. "OK if you say so but she must at least give you her choice before the 3rd match begins. I guess that goes for everyone. You will have an extra period to decide if you may choose." At this the crowd starts to erupt as he slams what looks like a staff with an orb of light in it. "So Percy it is time for you to head and relax a bit before the next match begins." At this the door behind me opens up. I bow before exiting, whipping my head of the sweat I had. I take a seat on the bench as I grab a bottle of water and douse myself with it to cool off. After a couple of minutes Chaos and Calypso appear. Calypso gives me a huge hug as Chaos whistles in delight. "Well who told you about the sword of creation. That was a very neat trick that even I didn't know you could pull off." At this I take out riptide and inspect it but see that it has returned to its original form. "Honestly I don't know what it was, Nyx just told me how to do it mid match and I figured I could at least trust her with what she was saying." At this Chaos laughs loudly as she looks at you with such bright eyes. "Ahhh of course she would tell you. She really did take a big liking to you after you guys met. She did not stop talking about you and how handsome you were." At this I blushed and looked away as Calypso huffed, not liking the fact that there was another girl into me. After the little tease Chaos continued her explanation of my new sword. "As I was saying before, the sword of creation was my personal weapon. I made it to where it could become anything I needed for a particular scenario. Currently you are not strong enough to wield it in its full might so I have embedded it into riptide. It will only come out to you when you are truly in a pinch." At this she comes close and touches the blade. A sword appears that is as dark as night with speckles of stars. As she twirls it it becomes a scythe, a spear, and even a handgun before retaking its shape. "woah, that's so cool I can't wait to fully use it. So now that I have a little break, what should I do." Calypso speaks up as she pulls my head down. "You sir need to rest. If you don't, you will not be able to fully fight properly in the next match." I smile as I lay my head
down and say. "Ahhh don't worry it shouldn't be that hard and anyways I know I will be able to win no matter what."
In the gods room
As all the gods stood there looking at Order he smiled happily as he motions. "Well as you can see our little hero is actually a quite competent fighter. So who is going up next." at this Aphrodite shoots her hand up immediately. Everyone stares at her in shock as they didn't expect her to want to go. But everything changed when Apollo stood up. "NO I will go next. I need to get him back for hurting my baby sister." At this everyone rolls their eyes as he just smirks at them all. Order nods his head as he gestures. "Yes, I think you would be a more suitable fit but why don't we make it a bit more interesting. Why don't we have both you and Hermes go at the same time." At this Hermes stands up in protest. "what why me Aphrodite wanted to go and I don't think I would be much help." At this Order bangs his staff and stares at Hermes. "Hmmm are you defying me? Anyways I don't want Aphrodite To go now she should go after you two." At this she pouts as Hermes Just hangs his head low. Apollo looks over and nods as he says. "Yeah fine with me as long as I get to try and take revenge I don't care how it happens." At that Order claps his hands together as he waves his hand and the second slot on his roster is taken up with both Hermes and Apollo's names. "Well boys you have about an hour to get ready. I hope you use this time wisely so that you can give it your all." After that the council dispersed as Order looked at his board. 18 spots still remained as he smirks and says. "Well things are about to get real interesting."
