Chapter 12: The Battle of the Boys
It has now been an hour and the next round of the tournament was set to begin. I was sitting in the entrance area as I heard a knock at the end of the hall. "Come on in. The round is about to start so I don't have much time." At this the door slowly opened and Artemis stepped inside. She walked over and took a seat next to me as she smiled, lightly twiddling her fingers as she started to speak slowly. "Ummmm hello Percy I just came to say thank you for giving me such a thrilling match. And I hope that my blessing will come in use with your next match." As she spoke I noticed that she looked a bit older than she did earlier during our match. She approached me and placed her finger on my head as some information poured into my head. I realized that her blessing had given me a proficient level of archery and a connection to the wild where I could tell what was around me. I blinked as I stared at her and smiled. "Why thank you for showing me what the blessing is about. And that match was definitely one for the books." As the bell was ringing I stood up and smiled. "Well I guess that's my cue time for me to head out." Just before I started to leave Artemis walked up and pulled me into a deep kiss. The shock of this action left me stunned as I stared at her after she pulled back. Her face looked almost as red as her hair as she shyly stepped back and said. "Well come back from the match alive and you will see what my reward for you is gonna be." I turned as I was blushing as I just lightly replied. "Well then I will try to end it quickly."
I stepped out into the arena for the second time today. The crowd screaming as my head was still buzzing with what had just happened as I heard Orders voice booming over the microphone. "Well now it seems someone is happy to start this match. Well then now begins the second round of the tournament. On the left we have our hero God Percy and to his right we have his opponent. Or should I say opponents that are both Apollo and Hermes." At this I stare, shocked at Order as he just shrugs his shoulders. The gate opens as Apollo steps out in a bright Yellow set of armor as Hermes was at his side in a slightly blue tinged armor set. His sandals have the trademark wings on them as they both meet me in the center. Apollo was the first to speak as he looked a bit angry at me. "Well Percy we meet on the battlefield. I will make you pay for embarrassing my little sister like you did." At this I blush a bit remembering what just happened. This makes Apollo more angry as he tries to come close but Hermes stops him. "chill man let's just get this over with. Well I guess we should get ready, Perc. I hope you know this isn't personal." I nod as I take up my stance waiting for the bell to ring. As the three of us take our positions Order stands up and says. "Well it seems the fighters are ready. Let this match begin." As the bell rang Apollo sprang forward as Hermes took flight. He was holding a staff that was starting to glow as Apollo charged me with what looked like a musical instrument in his hand. He strummed it as a shockwave approached me making me roll to the left as Riptide appeared in my hand. As I was finishing my role I noticed that there was a puddle of poison
near the edge. I looked up and saw that Hermes was chanting and grabbing stuff from his satchel. I needed to come up with a plan as I felt an arrow whizzing by my head. I looked back at Apollo as he had his golden bow pointed at me. At this I smirked as I knew this would be a very difficult fight but it was doable. I grabbed riptide in my hand as I dashed up quickly to Apollos' location. The sudden movement surprised them as Hermes dived closer to try and intercept me. As he approached I slowed down time as I summoned the sword of creation. This time it looked like a simple dagger as I used it to clip one of Hermes' wings as I let it go back into my main sword. As time resumed Hermes sputtered to the ground as I continued my pursuit of Apollo. Apollo backed up moving at high speeds as he started to shoot volleys of arrows trying to get me as I kept closing the distance. I flipped over a pair as I sliced one out of the air. I kept my eye on Hermes making sure he wasn't trying anything as I continued my chase of Apollo. I tried to keep up the pace but I noticed that the arena was starting to get warmer and warmer. Apollo was smiling as he shot up into the sun and a rain of light arrows fell making me backup as I was now breathing heavily at the intense heat. "You really thought this was gonna be easy didn't you? I thrive in the heat whereas you do not." I stared at him as he knew he had the advantage but I had a trick up my sleeve. The sun was making my shadow very prevalent as I looked over at Hermes getting himself up. I waited for Apollo to attack as he yelled. "This is for my sister." He fired a fully powered light arrow as I dipped into the shadow and swapped spaces with Hermes. Hermes did not know what was going on as he turned and got hit by the massive arrow sending him to the wall. His body landed on the floor as Apollo looked worried, his rage calming down as he dashed and started to heal Hermes, tears staining his face. "Stay with me buddy I am so sorry I didn't think that would happen." He healed him enough to the point where he could speak again. Hermes pulled him close and said. "Look out." At this he turns around as an arrow pierces his leg making him fall to the floor.
While that entire exchange was happening I had made it to Hermes satchel and checked to see if there was a bow and arrow inside. Luckily there was as I pulled it out and waited for Apollo to heal Hermes as I fired my arrow testing my new archery skills as it cleanly hit its mark. The yell of Apollo could be heard as he looked at me. His face started to glow as he healed and his hair flared in a golden light. Energy flowing from him as he summoned twin light blades he pointed at me yelling in a surreal voice. "You shall pay for making me hurt my friend." He lunged at breakneck speed as I had to slow down time to barely not be hit. His energy being too much as it started to make even the hairs on my arms burn off. I looked at my surroundings not knowing what to do as I stepped sensing that there was some water underneath. I needed to time the next moment carefully as I dodged more and more of his strikes. I made sure to keep the fight away from the badly injured Hermes as I parried more and more the heat burning my hands as I dropped riptide. Before it hit the floor I kicked the blade at the ground focusing all my energy on the blade. Just as Apollo in his rage form stepped over the blade a huge blast of water doused him. The flame died down as I sprang forward and grabbed the sword. I tackled Apollo to the ground, placing my blade on his neck as I saw the face of a defeated man. "Do you yield?" Apollo nodded his head as he put his hands down. I stepped up and pulled him onto his feet. The bell rang signaling my victory as I carried Apollo over to Hermes. We both lifted him up and gave him some ambrosia as Order spoke. "And that is the victory for Percy. What a display we
will have the blessings passed on now." As I stood up a glow of gold and blue enveloped me as I felt some more powers come into me as I placed my hand on Hermes' head. Knowing I got healing I fixed him up making him fully recover. Apollo smiled as out of nowhere Artemis stood up and yelled. "I have made my decision for my gift. My gift will be to be Percy's first wife." At this everyone stared in shock as I looked up at her and not believing what I heard as I just plainly said "seriously."
AN: And there is the next chapter. Percy has now received his first wife. I wonder what will happen next in the story. I plan on doing some possible lemons down the line so stay tuned for that.
