Some Asshole 4145: Hmmmmm… *Checks feet* Yeah, no. No one's going to pay for those…
LiveSukunaReaction: And here's another! :D
BigSmokeYeet: That one will take some time.
Weiss's glyph carried her back as she dodge the strike from one of the Paladins blocking her and Blake's way to the main railcar. The armored giant beeped as hatches opened around its shoulders to fire missiles at her.
Myrtenaster changed barrels to the Fire Dust loaded in it, and she summoned a Glyph in front of her. Fire balls were launched and countered the missiles, causing them to detonate in mid-air and causing a curtain of smoke to erupt between them.
Weiss didn't stood still; she formed another Glyph under her feet and dashed forward, passing by the open legs of the robot and standing behind it before stabbing her weapon on the floor while shifting its barrels. Ice sprouted from where she was and covered the robot's legs all the way to its waist. Yet it proved futile, when its torso turned around and repeated its attack after reloading.
Instead of a counter, Weiss used her Semblance to form a gravity Glyph under her feet that launched her upwards. Where she gracefully twirled in the air and aimed the tip of her weapon to the hatches of the robot. Three blasts of ice later and they were sealed unable to launch anymore and blinding the pilot.
Weiss landed and sighed in relief, only to tense when she heard a yelp coming from ahead of them. Where she saw Blake having a harder time dealing with her own Paladin. She blocked a blow with Gambol Shroud, but her knees were clearly shaking under the pressure. Weiss saw as the other arm of the machine was about to smack her friend to the side, so she used her Semblance to make Blake slide back to avoid the blow.
Blake flailed her arms for a moment to gain back her balance after the sudden shift, going down to one knee and straightening up just as Weiss moved next to her. "Thanks," She mumbled.
"Are you okay?" Weiss asked, just to make sure.
"Yes but…" She let out an annoyed huff. "I'm so stupid. I should have listened to Yang, even after sleeping a bit I still feel lightheaded and can't focus all that much."
Weiss sighed and turned her head. "Good, at least you are finally seeing reason," she said, putting a hand to her hip. Just as she heard the sound of the ice in which she trapped her enemy in breaking and saw the mecha Blake was facing moving towards them. "So let's get out of here so you can lay in a bed in conditions, and if you even try to read while you're at it. I'll put you in cryogenic sleep myself."
Blake bit back a chuckled and stood back up, brandishing Gambol Shroud and looked ahead to the Paladin in front of them. The two Huntress In-Training moved to be back-to-back with each other, glaring at the mechanized enemies while plotting of ways to bring them down.
'The bigger they are, the harder they fall most of the time…' Weiss thought as she brought her rapier up and its barrels switched.
"Arf, arf!" She blinked and looked down to see Zwei jumping up and down, and curling into a tiny-absolutely-adowable-wittle ball!
"What do you want?!" Blake hissed at him. Jeez, and she was all about Faunus not being animals. They weren't, but her teammate was just adding to the stereotype with her animosity.
Zwei's ears flattened on the back of his head and he just turned tail and charged at the Paladin in front of them. The evil White Fang member inside of the robot DARED to actually swat the adorable puppy like a fly, and towards his partner. All while she and Blake watched in horror.
"ZWEI!" Her voice shrieked as she saw the dog sail through the air.
However, Zwei curled into a ball and impacted against the other Paladin, making it stumble back a bit. He landed on the floor and looked none the worse to wear, wagging his tail happily and barking as if nothing happened. "Arf, woof!"
"Wha…?" Weiss' brain worked in overdrive to understand what just happened.
"Ruby did say he has his aura unlocked," Blake muttered, wide-eyed. "Was that a Semblance?"
Snapping out of her stupor, Weiss raised Myrtenaster. "Then let's use it for our own benefit then!" She declared. "Zwei, come here baby!"
Like the good boy he is he obeyed, jumping towards Weiss and landing beside her. She made a Gravity Glyph under him and lift him a few meters off the ground and then made another on his behind that will serve as a propulsor.
Zwei curled into a ball and she released the Glyph, sending the dog flying towards the robot. In retaliation it opened its hatches to attack, but Blake was faster. She threw Gambol Shroud at one of its legs and wrapped its ribbon around it and with a tug, it made the robot lose balance and for the missiles to be miss their mark, exploding harmlessly at the railroad to the side, and more importantly for Zwei to strike the center of the robot with his added momentum and making it topple to the side and off the platform
As Blake unwrapped the ribbon, the two observe with horror as the fallen paladin rolled down the railroads and sparks came out from it before being completely left behind by the train. Alone with the Grimm.
"Oh my God…" Blake said hoarsely as she looked back. "… Damn it…"
Weiss saw as Blake clenched her sword in frustration. For Weiss this was shocking, sure, they… she just left a man to die to the Grimm chasing them, or heck he could have already die inside the Paladin. This feeling it was… unsettling… She knew it would come to this someday, in their line of duty, Winter warned her so, but still… It made her feel cold.
She couldn't imagine how Blake must be feeling though, the White Fang has once been her teammates and not only were they collaborating with a dangerous criminal, openly threatening the safety of their kingdom, but now she was just part of the death of one of them.
"Blake…" She started.
"This train has to be stopped!" Blake said, gripping her sword. "We have to stop it. Now!"
Weiss looked at her in worry, before a whistling sound caught her attention. She had to grab Zwei and form Glyphs under her to dodge missiles coming their way, while Blake leaped back with the agility of a cat.
The Paladin she has been fighting was back with a vengeance, its pilot no doubt angry for what happened to their friend.
Weiss took a deep breath. The handling of this new feelings will come later, Blake was right on one thing, they had to stop this train. For it was their duty to defend the kingdom, no matter what.
'Mister Arc, Yang…' Weiss thought as she shifted barrels. 'Find Ruby and keep her safe, please.'
For the battle was just starting.
The first obstacle presented by them was that of a girl that looked no much older than the students. With different tones of hair and heterochronic eyes, that Yang decided to take on. Nicholas wasn't so sure as to how well the fight may go, the girl looked slim and her petite size could translate to a good evader, which in Yang's case could mean a perfect counter.
'Then I should have stayed behind,' He thought as he dashed to the next railcar. 'They are under my charge. I should aid them in what they can, even if they're talented and capable!'
Yet there was an even bigger urge for him in this mission right now. Personal, unprofessional. And that was to find the men from those recordings, the one holding Crocea Moirs, the weapon that his son took in his attempt to attend Beacon. If that man had it, then he at the very least knows the last place where Jaune might have been. And at the most he did something to his boy, and if that's the case…
Then Nicholas won't be responsible of what he does, for the man had brought it upon himself. Not only for that, but in being a part of what has to be the most extreme terrorist attempt in the recorded history of Vale, if not all of Remnant.
He stopped as the door in the other side opened, and a White Fang member strolled out of it, carrying a large, chainsaw-like weapon on his hands. The man cackled as he revved up the weapon and pointed it at him. "I heard there's a Schnee here… Once I get rid of you, I'll get to finally kill one of those oppressors!"
Nicholas gnashed his teeth and took out his axe, his aura flaring up and preparing his Semblance. "Over my dead body!"
"That's the plan."
The two charged, his axe while not a mechashift weapon, was still durable and managed to held off the spinning blade of the chainsaw. They parry each other away, and the man charged forward giving various swings aimed at the Huntsman's upper body.
Nicholas leaned away and swayed, moving out of the weapons range and blocking it with the shaft of his axe to avoid it. Pump-up burns enough reserves as it is, he can't waste it on receiving small injuries.
When he crouched to avoid getting a new haircut, he swept the legs of his opponent, making him fall to his back. The Faunus rolled back and crouched back to his feet, before springing towards him aiming a thrust at his chest. Nick moved out of the way and grabbed one of the man's arms, before throwing him over his shoulders and towards some of the crates surrounding them, breaking them upon contact.
The man emerged again, even with his features hidden, Nicholas could tell he was enraged. The man wasn't bad, but he was clearly more of a meathead who wanted to cleave through his opponents without any attempt of resistance. Probably not used to fighting high-level Huntsmen, and just some mediocre hired-security ones.
He charged again, if anything he was stubborn. He went for an overhead swing, that Nicholas blocked with the flat of his own weapon. This left the man open for getting kicked in the stomach that brought of his defense. The Huntsman landed a blow his jaw with the shaft of his weapon, and with the flat of it he landed another one on the side of his face. Holding his hand on one hand he gave a punch to his gun, then a kick to the face, and finally holding his axe in both hands again, he slammed the flat of his weapon on the temple of his opponent's head.
With his opponent momentarily dazed, Nicholas gave a jump and brought his weapon down on his opponent's head. The sudden blow, making him lose the grip on his weapon, and an uppercut from the Huntsman left hand broke he aura of the goon, knocking him face down on the cold floor of the cart. Its mask partially broken and its shards spilled beneath him.
"Grrr… Sch…nees… must pay…" He growled.
"That girl is not guilty of what her family might have done," He hit the Faunus with the back of his weapon, knocking him unconscious. "Now you on the other hand…"
His task done, he sighed and turned around to the front railcar. Ruby was up ahead; his targets were up ahead. Roman Torchwick, the criminal mastermind behind this would-be catastrophe, and the man that might give him answers to the whereabouts of his son.
Nicholas took a deep breath and got ready to use his Semblance at any moment's notice. There was another one there apart from his three main goals, according to what he knows he is the one who put Yang in bed after stabbing her. So maybe, it was better that she had stayed behind.
Nevertheless, it was now or never.
Yang soon knew she was outmatched with this opponent. She had wanted to move forward, to get this fight over with so she could rescue her sister and maybe have a rematch with the orange armored guy… with Mister Arc on her side, things wouldn't take a turn for the worse like last time.
Yet she soon found herself outmatched against this girl with tricolored hair. Her fighting style was one that deflected her punches and moved out of the way of her kicks, using her own weight against her. It was infuriating, and since this girl hadn't thrown a single punch at her, her Semblance couldn't be charged for a counterattack.
Her parasol blocked a blast from Ember Celica and when Yang threw herself at her to use her fists, she blocked and redirected her punches while using the parasol to keep herself at an arm's length. The girl threw a kick, Yang caught it and grabbed her leg before throwing her away.
The girl just smirked and flipped in the air to land gracefully in front of her, with poise that would make WEISS gawk in awe. And that girl was all about poise. She launched herself and grabbed her arm to then balance herself, like a monkey, over her head.
Yang was off-balance, and quite honestly panicked since she couldn't get the girl off her. Then the criminal grabbed her arm and flipped her into the air. Yang impacted against the metallic wall, her aura cracked, and the air left her lungs.
Her body hit the floor with a thud. A ringing noise covered her ears and black spots covered her vision. Her body felt like lead, no matter how hard she tried she couldn't get up.
'Come on… Come on! Ruby needs me!' She thought, but her body refused to respond. 'Not again… I can't fail again…'
The scar on her torso flared, reminding her of the last time she fought one of these people. She was going to lose again? Was she really this weak? Was she going to die here…?
The sound of clashing steel caught her attention. What? Did Blake or Weiss make it here?
The pain was receding and she looked up to see the girl, fighting a person dressed in red and black clothing and sporting a white mask, resembling the White Fang's. The girl looked completely terrified as she parried a blow and leaped back to then explode in a million shards of glass. Semblance?
The figure scoffed and sheathed her sword before giving Yang a side-glance before shaking their head. "Pathetic… Two times in a row."
By their voice, Yang could tell they were female. She swung her sword and a swirling red portal appeared by which she stepped through.
Who was she? Why did she feel so familiar?
Yang is finally able to stand up. Even if her head feels like it's going to be split in half, she has something left to do.
"Ruby…" With decision, she walks forward. Hoping to catch up with Mister Arc and get her sister back.
"Shit."
That single word summarized Felix's feelings. Nicholas was coming, some stranger beat Neo leaving Goldie alive. And the grunts above their heads were been beaten by the prissy and the cat AND A FREAKING DOG!
"Get ready gentlemen," Roman said from the control panel. "We're having company. Red!"
He grabbed the chair were Ruby was tied up and dragged it so she was in front of the controls. Before smashing them with his cane, leaving out the option of stopping it. "Time to play conductor, little red! Choo-choo and all that. Fun, isn't it?" He teased with a cruel smile.
"Mmrrrgh…" Ruby glowered at him, and Felix joined in glaring from behind his helmet.
Feelings aside, the three walked out of the front rail and towards the cabin in between where Nicholas was and the control room. The anxiety building up in Felix's stomach as he would have to face one of the biggest challenges in his life. Give him a Brute any other day over Nicholas Arc for crying out loud.
Both him and Locus had timers set on their helmets, calculating how much longer it would take for this baby to crash. He hoped it was enough to held the Huntsman back.
"You have been around this man before coming here," Locus said, catching his attention. "What can you tell us about him?"
"Dangerous," His response was immediate. "The guy is strong. So… For the first time I'm glad I have you guys covering my back… We might have a chance together."
"Wow, you're making me cry buddy," Roman's sarcasm was as appreciated as one might expect. "I might not look like it, but I have Huntsman training. One guy cannot be that tough."
Famous last words.
Locus charged his SAW, and shotgun with Fire and Ice Dust respectively, his pistol with Lightning, and prepared to unsheathe Crocea Moirs for battle.
"I wouldn't use that if I were you," Felix told him, not for his sake, but for the sake of not making the dangerous Huntsman even angrier.
Locus turned his head ever so slightly to him. "Why…?"
"This guy was that weapon's last owner," Not counting the brat who stole it.
"You stole a Huntsman's weapon?!" Roman guffawed. "That requires some balls."
"Not directly, but… yeah, it won't be pretty," Today was not his fucking day. So, forgive him if he doesn't have any of his smarts with him right now.
The door opened and out stepped the blonde mountain of a man. His blue eyes glaring at the three of them with barely restrained anger. He grabbed his axe and giving out a sigh he made a single question.
"Where's Ruby?"
Roman, cocky bastard, leaned on his cane and smirked tauntingly at him. "Driving this train to its destination, so she's quite… tied up at the moment, hehe."
Fucker's going to get them killed…
Nicholas' glare became even more thunderous at that phrase. No doubt understanding the meaning behind what he was saying. Then his glared zeroed on Locus, making Felix tense. 'Fuck does he know…?'
"Your sword… where did you get it?" The blonde asked in a low tone.
FUCK! ABORT!
'Locus for the sake of everything you ever loved do not say it—!' Felix screamed in his mind.
"In a forest," Locus responded nonetheless, ignorant to Felix's panic. "Outside of this city."
'If there's a God, please just kill them out of a sudden stroke,' Felix begged. 'If you do that, right now! I will turn over a new leaf!'
They were still alive in the next couple seconds. There's no God, and Felix will not turn over a new leaf. Everyone happy?
Because Felix was certainly not.
Nicholas stared at Locus for a couple more second before exhaling through his nose. "There'll be time to question… when I take all of you into custody."
And with that he charges forward.
Felix is the first one to react. He rises his shield, protecting himself and the pair of dumbasses behind him, the hard-light stopping the edge of the axe as sparks fly around. Felix can feel the sheer pressure behind the blade, his feet dragging as he struggled to keep it up.
Locus flanks from the side, leaving the safety of the barrier. Aims his SAW and fires. Missiles of fire coming at Nick, who leaps back and moves until he crouch behind the crates to the side.
Roman tries to take his chances and jumps over the crates, aiming his cane at the man. Its bottom opening and launching a flare towards his head. Nicholas swung his axe at the attack, causing it to explode and cause a cloud of dust to appear.
The man emerges from the cloud, charging at Locus. Hastily, Locus raises the blade of Crocea Moirs to block the axe. However, a glow covers the body of the older man and causes Locus' knees to buckle under the pressure.
Roman attacks from the side, making Nicholas leave his current opponent. Roman's swings are agile, but each one is parried and blocked by the Huntsman's weapon. Until eventually the blonde man kicks the criminal in the stomach and deals a heavy blow to the back of his neck with the shaft of his axe.
Felix circles around him and fires his magnum, Nicholas moves out of the way and easily bats away those who he can't dodge. He charges forward and Felix panics, swinging and weaving around his axe to avoid getting hit. Damn that Locus, if only he'd had his sword with him!
He is unable to dodge forever, and Nicholas was an adaptable fighter. The blonde Huntsman shifted the grip of his weapon to just one hand and with the other one dealt a powerful blow to his covered face, Felix falls with a thud and the HUD of his helmet shows that his aura dropped to an eighty percent, which to someone that has both a crazy amount like him and an armor that resisted the drop of a FUCKING SPACESHIP says a fucking LOT!
His leg is grabbed and the next thing he knows he's been hurled to the other side of the room. His head is spinning, but he is used to it from fighting Covenant troops. He sits up to see Nicholas… getting staggered back by nothing, what?
Something clicks in his head. 'Locus!'
His treacherous partner is using his armor's feature to attack without Nicholas knowing where it came from. Thankfully, Felix's helmet has motion trackers that allows him to see his partner even with his cloak. And as much as he wants Locus' head on a platter, right now they were together on a united front.
He takes out his magnum and takes aim. Three bullets impact against Nicholas chest, but his bulky aura protects him. He is kicked on the back of his knee and now is surprisingly a recently recovered Roman who takes the chance and nails a blow to his chin, and then a strike to his cheek.
Suddenly, they had the advantage. Now Nicholas was in the backfoot thanks to Locus' cloaking. When Nicholas tries to stand up, he is received with ice bullets that froze him in place and then with various fire rounds that explode and sent him bouncing towards crates that break upon his giant body's impact.
"See," Roman told him, giving him a pat on the shoulder, just as Locus undid his cloaking. "Easy cake~"
Felix rolls his eyes. Then sudden movement comes from the side.
"HI-YAH!" A yellow projectile dive-bombs at them, causing a small explosion between the Huntsman and them.
The dust clears and standing up between them is none other than big boobs herself. Glaring with red blood eyes at them, while keeping a fighting stance.
Some mirth returns to Felix as he stares at him, chuckling low to himself as he takes a step forward. "So, you did come for a second round! I knew you wanted me to insert it in you again."
Eat your heart out Tucker, this is how you make an innuendo!
The way she flinched and her frame shook for a little bit was all sorts of satisfying. However, someone always had to ruin the fun.
"Yang, don't!" Nicholas ordered, finally sitting up. "Go for Ruby and assist your teammates! I'll deal with them!"
"But sir—!" She turned wanting to discuss.
Roman took this momentary distraction to fire again with his cane. Yang turned, frozen to act. Nicholas, however, moved. Shoving Yang out of the way and tanking the blast like it was nothing.
The man turned to the girl and grumbled. "Ruby needs you. Go!"
That seemed enough for her to act. She nodded, gave on last glare at them and took off in the direction where her sister was being kept. A sibling bond… oh yeah, Arc had sisters… huh.
Moving on…
Locus acted. Cloaking himself again, he tried to regain the advantage. However, Nicholas was prepared this time. He moved out of his position, and his body glowed with his Semblance. He lifted one of the remaining crates and threw it in the general direction where he once was. It impacted with someone he couldn't see, and that meant Locus.
With his body shimmering, he blasted himself at where Locus was and decked him with enough strength to send him to the other side of the room. The cloaking falling and revealing his dazed partner.
Shit. So much for advantage.
Roman and him backed away slightly, looking warily at the Huntsman as that shimmer around him just spoke bad news for them. Felix looked at the HUD of his helmet, the timer was almost off. "It's almost time."
"Goodie," Roman drawled, lifting his cane and ready to fight.
If facing a sudden cannon ball coming at them in the form of a man could be called a fight.
Ruby panted, tears of frustration in her eyes as the ropes no matter what she did refused to give away. The train was moving too fast and she hasn't been able to do anything to stop the White Fang's plans.
Some leader she is! Some future Huntress!
The door behind her opened and her eyes widened with hope and delight when a familiar blonde burst into the room. "MHNG!"
"RUBY!" Yang yelled in happiness running to her side and grabbing the ropes. "Don't worry sis. I got you. Everything is okay!"
With ease, Yang broke her bindings apart. And carefully, yet still painfully, removed the tape wrapped around her mouth. Her lips felt swollen and could feel the stickiness on her face. Yet it was much better than to be asphyxiated by it.
Yang didn't wasted time in grabbing her into a bone-crushing hug which she returned. "Thank goodness. You're okay," she whispered, cradling her head. She pulled away after a while, smoothing her hair and cupping her face with her hands. "They didn't hurt you, did they?"
"N-No…" She admitted, wiping the tears before they could fall. No time to cry, not now. "They just tied me, that's all…"
Roman did try but the orange one that sounded like Jaune and Felix and that was also named Felix—Ugh, too much coincidences and giving her headaches—seemed insistent in just keeping her restrained.
Yang reached behind her back and Ruby squealed in delight as she was handed Crescent Rose back to her. "Here," her sister said. "Blake and Weiss are fighting White Fang above our heads, while Mister Arc is dealing with the big baddies behind us. What do you want us to do?"
Ruby looked undecisive for a moment. Honestly, she didn't feel like she should be making this sort of decisions after doing nothing to actually help her team since this whole mission started. However, they had no time and her sister was staring at her with expectation so…
"We… have to help Blake and Weiss!" She decided. "Mister Arc can take on Roman and those two." As a thought, she added, 'I hope.'
Yang nodded. "Okay, good!"
They opened the window on the side and climbed up to the roof, looking around to know of their teammates' whereabouts. It didn't take long to find them, for a few railcars back they were facing the same type of robots Roman used back in the highway. And wasn't that a fun memory…
"Guys!" Ruby yelled as she and Yang jumped into the fray. Taking advantage that the Paladin they were fighting had its back turned on them.
Ruby aimed her baby in its compact mode and fired rounds of Ice Dust that froze it solid. And Yang followed up by rapid blast-accompanied punches that made it tumble down upon the platform.
"Ruby!" Blake smiled seeing her.
Weiss sighed in relief. "Thank goodness."
Zwei barked happily, hopping and snuggling next to her leg.
"Thank you for coming guys…" She said sincerely, before setting her face into a serious frown. "But we need to stop the train!"
"Was there nothing in the cabin where they held you that could do it?" Blake asked, as she looked over her shoulder in fear of other Paladins coming.
"No, Torchwick made sure of it…" She said bitterly, remembering her powerlessness. "But maybe there's another way…?"
"No," Weiss said, her eyes wide as she pointed in front of them. "Look!"
They turned and paled as they saw that they were about to hit a dead-end.
"Crap!" Yang cursed. "We were too late!"
Ruby in a panic turned to Weiss. They might not be able to stop the train, but at the least they could guard themselves from the impact. "Weiss. Ice. Encase us!"
Her partner nodded. A glyph appeared at their feet and she stabbed Myrtenaster into it with a round of Ice Dust loaded on it. A dome of ice formed around them, blocking momentarily their vision and only counting with the rest of their senses to guide themselves.
Ruby felt a tremor. Heard an explosion. Smelt of something burning. And could practically taste the ash around her.
She didn't know for how long her eyes were close, or for how long she has been lying on the cold tilted stone of what she would later come to realize was the city's main plaza.
Realization of what happened struck her when a King Taijitu emerged from the giant crater formed in the middle of the plaza. Roaring and summoning other Grimm from the hole. Beowolves, Ursas, Creeps, Death Stalkers and some small Nevermores emerged from the tunnels connected to Mountain Glenn and started attacking every innocent person around them.
She sat up and looked at her teammates. All of them looking at the scene with horror written on their faces.
They failed. Vale has been breached and was being invaded by the Grimm.
She gripped the handle of Crescent Rose and sat up. They were still Huntresses in training and they had a job to do.
A/N: Ooooofffff…
College is not being kind guys, help.
Writing has become hard for me. There's so much I want to WRITE but so little time.
Here are some ideas of the things I'd wish to write:
A reaction fic. Cliché, I KNOW! Not sure if I want a RWBY one a MHA one or whatever. I just… want to, ya know. But the worst part is that I wanna do it in Spanish XD my native language.
A Yu-Gi-Oh SI fic: An Arc-V fic where I give a bit of a twist, not the typical I die and go to Arc-V, but rather I have a chance to go to Arc-V and by the end of the main story line I get home and with plans of using the LSD trio more than they were in the show. Trying to keep my SI as realistic and true to myself as possible without turning into a Gary Stu.
A Vol 9 RWBY x Digimon Crossover: I am baffled that no one has done this until now… I think I posted the first chapter Idea in my pa treon but I don't remember. I even got a Finale thought out, even before the whole deal with RT.
The Legend of Korra x Kimetsu no Yaiba: With a Korra x Tanjiro ship… don't judge me.
Something about Dragon Ball: With the passing of the Legend, Akira Toriyama, I've felt I had to somehow… tribute him. Its been a month and yet the memory is still fresh. But considering my first fic, which is a Dragon Ball one, is still in the freezer well… Idk.
And… yeah, that'll be it. Maybe I'll do one of these when I finish Hunter X Zero X Two, because that's the closest one its ending, but who knows…
Anyways, in the fear of sounding like a desperate hobbo, if you have a dollar to spare:
