DISCLAIMER: I do not own JoJo's bizarre adventure or Rising of the shield hero
After a month, all four of the cardinal heroes were finally reunited, but under the worst of circumstances. The three beloved heroes had lost a majority of the people they had spent most of their time within this universe, they will likely be shamed and shunned by Melromarc for their failure. Naofumi, on the other hand, had discovered friends in Jouta Kujo, Senshi Foo and Raphtalia, as well as a powerful ally in DIO, he will likely be honoured and respected by Riyute. And now, with the stress of their situation weighing on them, the spear, bow, and sword did not hesitate in letting out their frustrations on Naofumi who felt the same, having recently learned that he might end up killing billions just by existing. So in this wide street with soldiers and healers in the nearby building, they would finally end their grievances, once, and for all!
"Juggernaut Shield!"
Naofumi shouted, his shield changing shape and size. The other heroes did not waste time, immediately going at Naofumi with full power.
"Without my armour, I'll need to be quick or else they'll overwhelm me, but this shield should be enough."
"Eagle Blade!"
Ren unleashed a powerful strike that attempted to push through Naofumi's defences, but the shield's power was more than he bargained for.
"Charge!"
Naofumi completely blast through whatever attack Ren tried and hit him with insane force. The sword hero was launched back and struggled to regain his composure.
"Such speed with such a heavy shield! If I tried to push it back, it would have brutally injured me!"
As Ren was blown away, Motoyasu charged forward, aiming to hit Naofumi while he was slowly recovering from that charge. Motoyasu was not expecting Naofumi to have already anticipated this.
"Twin mode!"
The Juggernaut Shield was split perfectly and the weight of it was halved and given to each of Naofumi's arms, allowing him to react to Motoyasu in time. He had dealt with faster opponents before(Raphtalia and Jouta) so this was child's play.
"Charge!"
He allowed the shield's power to move his body and avoid the deadly spear, a fist aimed at Motoyasu's face.
"!"
Motoyasu lacked his previous overconfidence, so he was prepared for quick in-the-moment attacks like these. He used all the strength he could muster to move his spear and hit Naofumi's forearm, setting his punch off course. This also had the effect of messing up Motoyasu's balance. In fighting, power must always be well distributed properly especially to the legs and feet to maintain balance, this was very true for those who wielded large weapons.
*SWISH!*
An arrow flew by, just barely missing Motoyasu and only grazing Naofumi's shoulder.
"Hey! Watch where you're aiming!"
"How about moving out of the way!"
The two blondes argued as Naofumi was attacked by Ren, who managed to surprise Naofumi and stab him in the hand.
"They still can't work together!? What did I expect? This should work in my favour though."
Naofumi allowed Ren's sword to go through his hand, his resolve numbing the pain. He pulled Ren in and headbutt him. Ren was taken aback by this strength, he was vulnerable to these types of attacks due to his lack of personal defence, but even he had to admit: Naofumi was ripped!
"I've seen better swordsmen."
Ren was severely disorientated, enough for Naofumi to use him as a human shield against Itsuki. Naofumi gripped the blade piercing his hand and twirled Ren around with force, straining the swordsmen's arm. The blonde was reluctant to shoot as Ren was his closest friend, Motoyasu also relented, circling around Naofumi for an opening.
"AH!"
Ren screamed as his arm was bent in the wrong way, his back now facing Naofumi. It would seem they've reached a stalemate, Naofumi using Ren and his shield to defend against Itsuki and Motoyasu at the same time, that was until Itsuki and Ren locked eyes and the archer gestured to the ground, to which Ren nodded.
*SWISH!*
An arrow was fired and alerted Naofumi, who turned Ren to face Itsuki, but this was part of the plan as the arrow hit the ground near his feet, Ren used the arrow as footing and jumped into the air, over Naofumi. This caused the sword to vertically cut Naofumi's hand in half.
"Gah!"
Naofumi turned quickly to meet Motoyasu and Ren, but as he did he was shot by three arrows in his bare back, stunning him. Ren slashed across his chest multiple times and Motoyasu aimed his spear in the centre of all the cuts, the shield hero's defences now weakened. Overall, the shield showed great resilience, strategy, and strength, but was overwhelmed by the power of the bow, sword, and spear...but not really.
"HAMON OVERDRIVE!"
Naofumi shouted at the top of his lungs, a huge burst of Hamon releasing from his body and channelling through the spear before zapping Motoyasu and blowing him back. Ren did not hesitate to swing his sword, but it was stopped by Naofumi's open palm, yellow electricity preventing the blade from cutting his hand.
"Nice metal."
That same yellow energy that hit Motoyasu, flowed through the legendary sword and bypassed Ren's armour, this caused Ren's muscles to tense up and that paralyzed him. He fell to his knees, his defences not enough to save him from Hamon. That's when Ren saw it: Naofumi's level increased to 35, surpassing Motoyasu.
"H-how!?"
Naofumi looked down at Ren and smiled sadistically.
"100 pushups, 100 situps, 100 squats, and a ten-kilometre run every day!"
Ren was filled with rage, but could only sit and do nothing as Naofumi mocked him. You might be wondering what happened to Itsuki, well, since Naofumi could not store Hamon in objects, the arrows were shot back by the Hamon, hitting Itsuki, the arrows pierced through the boy's leg, shoulder, and side.
"Hey, Itsuki, you don't look so good! Need some milk!"
Naofumi was enjoying every second of this, even showing off his toned abs, buff chest, and slim waist. His shield returning to its base, Naofumi began laughing. The damage he sustained from the other heroes was nothing severe and was quickly dealt with by Hamon. Wait! Hamon! The opposing energy to vampires! With perfect timing, the holes that had only been healed on a surface level began throbbing and sending pain across the shield's entire body.
"Shit!"
Naofumi fell to his knees, his breathing becoming ragged and random.
"Why now! For fuck's sake!"
He cursed the stupid rules of life energies. His luck got worse though, Motoyasu recovering and looking more determined than ever.
"Naofumi...have you ever heard that story...the one about the unbreakable shield...and unstoppable spear."
Motoyasu stood up, his breathing also uneasy.
"Yeah...in my opinion...an unbreakable shield is better."
Naofumi stood up slowly, trying to stabilize his breathing and use Hamon to gain the advantage.
"Don't you know the saying: the best defence is a strong offence."
"If that's true, where's your party?"
Motoyasu clutched his spear with a death grip, and his veins popped.
"Don't you dare!"
"I'm sorry, but the fact is you didn't take this seriously and people died."
Naofumi had used his Hamon to act as a cable to connect the electrical pulses within their brains. Motoyasu had no retort, Naofumi was right and he knew it.
"I saw into your thoughts, and you saw into mine."
The two did not just see each other's thoughts but shared them. Naofumi, having initiated the link, had focused his mind, so Motoyasu didn't see too much, but enough.
"DIO is a good guy!? Malty lied!?"
He was confused and had a number of questions for Naofumi. He knew that what he saw was real because Naofumi knew what happened in the forest.
"Mr Motoyasu!?"
The worst person to possibly show up entered the scene with the fakest look of innocent concern in the multiverse. Naofumi was not even facing her direction, but his aura flickered with rage. Motoyasu was surprisingly in a similar state, but more confused and conflicted.
"Don't call me that!"
He shouted, his eyes shut as he held his head, his mind shattering from the recent revelations. He was having the worst day of his life, and no one was allowing him space to breathe.
"What did he tell you?"
She asked in an innocent, yet threatening tone. Naofumi was too pissed to speak and remained silent.
"You know he's lying."
Although she was a good distance away, Motoyasu heard her as if she was right next to him.
"Shut up!"
He couldn't stand it, the truth was right in front of him, but somehow she was muddling it.
"Why are you being so mean?"
She used a distressed delicate voice, appealing to his image of her as an angel.
"You trust him more than me?"
This time, she sounded as if she was crying, feeling betrayed.
"After what he did? I thought you loved me."
Those words filled with 'sorrow' and 'disappointment' broke Motoyasu's mind. He couldn't lose her too, he couldn't lose anyone, especially her. Naofumi slowly looked over his shoulder at her. His back was definitely intimidating with all its strong muscles and all, but in this moment, his eyes could fill any being, regardless of power, with instinctual, raw Terror. If the eyes are truly the windows into the soul, then Naofumi's eyes could be described as absent, lonely, and empty, yet at the same time filled with fire, passion, and chaos. Truly, this was pure Rage.
"Yes, good, let it take over!"
"Shut up."
Naofumi turned his entire body and stared down the bane of his life. She stared back with a look of...excitement!? Any intelligent lifeform would end its own life and hide in hell to avoid Naofumi's gaze, but this...snake welcomed it. Was she even human, maybe in appearance, but clearly she lacked anything resembling humanity. In a blink, he appeared a few meters away from her, but between him and his tormentor came Motoyasu, glowing with new power.
LUST SPEAR I
"Don't even think of touching her!"
Naofumi looked down on the man without emotion and ignored him, walking closer to his target.
"I swear, if you come any closer, I'll kill you!"
Naofumi still paid him no mind and continued walking.
"I won't let you take my Malty!"
Motoyasu thrust his spear in Naofumi's direction, and in an instant, the two legendary weapons clashed, both glowing with a new power that was born from the two's trauma.
"This will be interesting."
Malty said to herself, finding this whole scenario quite amusing.
DIO and the strange woman known as Spiral stared each other down. Spiral had a ridiculously smug smile on her face, while DIO seemed deadly serious.
"Ya want me to chase ya, huh?"
DIO remained quiet and stoic, but deep down was excited to face a unique opponent beyond his level. Spiral had a devious smile on her face.
*BOOM!*
Spiral jumped forward, her fist pulled back. DIO smirked, [The World] appearing before him with its arms crossed in defence, but the guard was immediately broken by Spiral, and she followed up with a barrage of quick kicks to its now open chest.
"!?"
DIO held his chest in pain, blood spilling from his mouth. [The World] retaliated with a quick jab to Spiral's abdomen, pushing her back. Spiral performed a double flip in the air and landed on the ground safely.
"Bastard!"
DIO looked at the woman with wide eyes, his mind racing.
"I'm not surprised she can see it. Strong magic can interact with ghosts and other spiritual beings easily, but this woman had not used an ounce of magic in her attacks, in fact, this energy feels similar to [The World]."
"How can you damage [The World]!?"
"You mean 'The Bitch'!"
She quickly dashed back into DIO's range, firing a powerful punch that DIO barely avoided, the force tore his armour to shreds.
"Such power, yet her technique is very flawed. She's interesting."
DIO ripped off his armour, the Waves protecting him from the sun conveniently. His armour had always slowed him down even just a bit.
"I have always felt more comfortable like this."
DIO held up his fists and threw a few quick jabs, easily exceeding the speed of lightning.
"Are ya done?"
Spiral yawned, unimpressed with DIO's speed.
"Such overconfidence. My power has grown since I fought Jouta merely days ago."
Stands were equivalent to spiritual weapons and the strength of the stand was determined by how powerful the stand user is. In the system of this universe, the power of a stand was a multiplication of the stand user's power. That multiplier is determined by their mental fortitude or will.
"For the first time, I shall fight alongside my guardian!"
DIO and [The World] dashed into Spiral's range and the vampire and Zelddei locked eyes before all that could be seen was a flurry of punches and kicks. DIO currently being at a level of 35 and [The World] 50, the two were adding their speed and attack on top of each other, their movements in perfect sync without delay.
"MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA...!"
"USELESS USELESS USELESS USELESS USELESS...!"
Spiral blocked most attacks from both of them at the same time, but her lacklustre martial arts made her predictable, and just as DIO saw she was getting comfortable with this pace, he surprise-attacked her with his full power of 40, punching her in the face before thrusting his thumb in her eye, blinding her in that eye.
"!"
She was distracted by this and this gave [The World] the chance to score in multiple hits to her side. She launched a kick at the stand, but it bent its body in unexpected ways and evaded. DIO kneed her in the face, capitalizing on her new blind spot. [The World] punched her neck at the same time.
"He's tryna snap my neck!"
Spiral expanded her aura in an explosion of light. DIO and [The World] were overwhelmed, unable to withstand the energy her aura radiated, they jumped back.
Spiral opened her eye which was now red and tearing up. Her face filled with annoyance and frustration.
"Did I hit your eye? What a shame, though I'd say it's an improvement."
"Piss off!"
She charged at DIO with a fist, using even more power this time. Her feet did not even touch the ground before she reached him. DIO, now aware of her fighting style(which was ass) predicted her movements before she made them, reading every aspect of her. When she did land a hit, DIO took the hit, stopped time to heal, then continued as if he had sustained no damage. At the same time, [The World] would hit her, using her blind spot like a magic cloak of invisibility.
"Die!"
Spiral threw a high-speed barrage of punches, but DIO dodged all of them by a hair's breadth, abusing his body's flexibility and his stand's ability to disappear.
"HAAAAAH!"
Another flurry of punches and kicks, but DIO's expression was unchanging.
"Right, left, cross, left, right..."
Noticing she was making no progress, Spiral calmed herself and remembered who she was fighting. She used her finger to draw a spiral in the air, the spiral lit up and Spiral punched it with all the force she could.
"Space, bend to my will."
The force from her punch travelled in a green spiral. The spiral converged at one point, turning white before spiralling outward as a red spiral. The spiral was a pillar of pure heat that blitzed DIO.
"Where did this heat come from!? If it touches me, I will be nothing but ash!"
"[The World]!"
DIO instinctively stopped time at the last second to avoid the attack, beads of sweat rolling down his face.
"Her power is immense, this heat is unlike anything I have ever felt. Heat does not manifest from nowhere, and without magic, she must be converting her power. Dangerous."
DIO decided it would be wise to end the fight here, so he commanded [The World] to faze through Spiral and stop her heart.
"I was hoping it was not the case."
[The World] attempted fazing through her, but it could not get past her aura, it blocked him off completely.
"This aura is an extension of her soul, [The World] cannot bypass other supernatural phenomena."
Once time-stop ended, Spiral's body was engulfed in a large aura of green light that pushed DIO back. He shielded his eyes and struggled to keep his footing.
"Now you'll see the power of the Architect of Infinite Lives!"
"The Architect of Infinite Lives, aye? Well if you are going all out, then I suppose I should as well."
DIO crossed his arms over his chest and [The World] stood by his side with a dark purple outline.
"I have mastered my corrupt flow to the point that it can flow through my stand."
Just like Hamon, this flow could be passed through stands, in fact, it always flowed through [The World] as it too is burnt by the sun and Hamon, but now DIO has mastered the concentration of it within his stand, boosting its power.
*MAX LEVEL BOOST: 50 TO 54*
Random Narrator
Hamon's boost depends on the user, but with DIO's knowledge through experimentation, he exceeds Naofumi's boost of three, but fall's short of Jouta's five, making his four.
Spiral leapt towards DIO. He smiled with a powerful punch ready from his stand.
"Let us see then if you can defeat...AN IMMORTAL!"
