Chapter 3 No one's ever truly gone
It's been three months since the talks between Earth and the rest of the galaxy involving the Kaiju fell apart because of Piel and his kidnapping attempt on Sean's brother and daughter.
Because of that Aayla had left the order and stayed on earth with Sean and his family.
During the three months of war against the Kaiju the war had taken the worser turn.
The Galaxy had ridiculed the Jedi for their part in this and for every other action they did that caused nothing but problems.
Many had tried to defend themselves saying they were not trying to cause problems they created but it did nothing but make the people more angry since they refused to acknowledge their flawed actions.
As for Piel he was sentenced to the Citadel which was used to hold Jedi who had lost their way since he was the reason the alliance deal fell apart.
And the Senate was even suggesting the Jedi order be disbanded which shocked them to the core not expecting that.
Of course Palpatine said they would face punishment after the war was over since they needed ever advantage against the Kaiju since they were losing badly.
Right now though.
"Anakin." Kenobi tried to say.
"Get away from me." Anakin said.
"Look can we just talk? Is that too much?" Kenobi asked.
"Talk? Or lie?" Anakin asked.
"Look...The council doesn't always make the best choices. I admit we're not perfect and we always will in times make the wrong choice...It just sounded so absurd at the time that we never bothered to listen. And now we're paying the price for it. Maybe thats for the best." Kenobi said.
"The best?" Anakin asked narrowing his eyes.
"Teaching us humility. That our actions always will have consequences. Just as we're now seeing." Kenobi said.
"Yeah well, tell that to the people who've lost everything because of the council." Anakin said.
"There might not be the old council much longer." Kenobi said confusing him.
"What does that mean?" Anakin asked.
"Theres been talks between the council. Master Yoda believes that perhaps a new council is needed to replace us. A younger one to understand the consequences of our mistakes." Kenobi said.
"All of you?" Anakin asked.
"Yes. Yoda believes this will help earn the trust of the people again. Even if it's only a little. We have to make amends some way." Kenobi said.
"Why are you telling me this?" Anakin asked.
"I was hoping perhaps you'd like to step up to that position." Kenobi said surprising him.
"Me? Don't you have to be a Master for it?" Anakin asked.
"Times are changing. We need to accept our traditions need to change. Or we will not survive and the order will be disbanded when this ends." Kenobi said.
"And the code?" Anakin asked.
"It will also need to change since clearly our old ways aren't working as good as they used to...If this is any indication." Kenobi said.
Meanwhile
Sean was in his bed before seeing Aayla in bed with him in only a blue nightgown making him smile holding her close.
In the three months since Aayla left the order the two had gotten close romantically.
Sam certainly enjoyed having Aayla around as she treated her like her own child.
And now the two were engaged as Sean looked at the gold engagement ring that had every jewel on Earth on it.
"And Kiva always hated jewelry." Sean said to himself.
"She and I have that in common." Aayla said opening her eyes smiling at him as he kissed her making her moan.
"AHHH!" Turok yelled.
"Oh no." Sean said chucking.
Heading outside in shorts he laughed seeing his little brother soaking from a bucket over his head as Aayla had a blue robe on giggling.
"Sam." Sean said making her come out giggling. "I swear. Where she gets this from I'll never know. Me and Kiva were never like that." Sean said.
"Are you so sure?" Aayla asked in amusement.
"What does that mean?" Sean asked annoyed making Sam giggle. "Ok thats enough out of you missy." Sean said picking her up and went downstairs.
"I can see fatherhood suits him." Aayla said.
"He and Kiva struggled for the first month till they got it down." Turok said.
"I HEARD THAT!" Sean yelled annoyed making him chuckle.
Going down stairs Turok and Sam were watching TV.
"You've built a nice life for them." Aayla said making him smile.
"I never asked for anything in return for my services. It was just given to make it easier on me since people were furious about what happened." Sean said as she traced her fingers on the scar.
"Why not have it fully healed?" Aayla asked.
"It's a reminder to never forget how flawed the Jedi are. They mean well. But the arrogance that leads them will always lead to their downfall. Constantly keeping secrets from their own. Lying about things they don't want brought up. Not taking things seriously when they should. The return of the Sith should have raised serious alarms when Qui-Gon told them...But they did nothing when he told them. It wasn't till after he died they took it serious...Too Little too late in my view. Everything thats a danger needs to be taken with the greatest concerns. No matter what." Sean said making her smile.
"Your right. But what happens if the Galaxy is on the brink of total annihilation?" Aayla asked.
"Thats not my problem anymore. I tried to help before it got me nothing but pain. I'm not making that mistake again." Sean said as she kissed him.
"It's ok." Aayla said as she went to the others.
As looked up he saw his wife frowning at him.
"Huh?" Sean asked shaking his head not seeing her again making him grumble.
"I'm not being guilt tripped into this crap again." Sean said.
Later
Sean was in his personal lab down below.
"I swear. If all it takes is a simple component it's a miracle no one else thought of this stuff before me." Sean said.
Thats when he sensed someone behind him.
"Turok I swear to god if you break something in here again." Sean said.
"Wrong person old friend."
Sean widened his eyes turning to face the last person he ever expected to see.
"Qui-Gon?" Sean asked seeing Kenobi's old master who smiled at him.
"It's been a long time my young friend." Qui-Gon said.
"How the hell are you here? You were killed over 10 years ago." Sean said.
"I once told you about the living force. I learned how to become part of it. It's because of that you see me before you." Qui-Gon said.
"Oh. So why are you here? If your expecting me to just flat out help the rest of the galaxy forget it. I tried that before and it got me nothing but pain and humiliation. I'm not making that mistake again." Sean said.
"Thats not how you actually feel." Qui-Gon said making him frown. "I know you want to help them more than anything but your letting your anger blind and control you." Qui-Gon said.
"Yeah...Well maybe I have good reason to. At least you listened and tried to convince the others to. And so did Aayla but I told her to keep quiet since I didn't want her receiving the same treatment." Sean said.
"And do the people deserve to die for their actions?" Qui-Gon asked making him sigh.
"No." Sean said.
"Then whats stopping you?" Qui-Gon asked.
"When I left I swore I would never risk my neck out for people again because of what it got me. That kind of treatment leaves a mark. One that can't be seen. I tried to stop all of this 15 years ago. But only you two listened while everyone else ridiculed and humiliated me Minus Shaak Ti and Piel had me beaten. And then he had the nerve to try and take my brother and my daughter. So why should I help anyone else ever again?" Sean asked.
"If you don't...Your no better than they are." Qui-Gon said as he vanished making him frown as he sighed.
Later
Sean walked to the back yard to his wife's grave before he sat down on a bench.
"You know the Irony is if they didn't do what they did to me I never would have met you and had Samantha or found Turok when I did." Sean said looking at the grave before sighing as he rubbed his face.
"The hell am I supposed to do? I can never forgive them for what they did to me. Flat out calling me dead wrong without even looking at the evidence I had. Humiliating me so casually. The beatings I took because of Piel and Krell. How do you move past that?" Sean asked.
"You really are helpless."
Sean widened his eyes looking up seeing his wife who smiled at him.
"Kiva?" Sean asked.
"Where in the hell would you be if I wasn't around?" Kiva asked.
"Oh for gods sakes." Sean said.
"Sean...I know your angry at them for what happened...But do the people deserve whats happening to them for a group of outdated people who did what they did to you?" Kiva asked.
"I tried to help people 15 years ago and all it got me was pain. Who's to say it won't cost me more if I try again? Helping our planet was one thing I warned them about what happened and they asked for my help. I did so only to keep it safe because it was my home." Sean said.
"Our home." Kiva said making him sigh. "You still helped the people and asked for nothing in return. And like you said what they did is how we met and had Samantha and found Turok. Sometimes the worst things lead to the best things we have." Kiva said.
"I know." Sean said.
"Then whats really stopping you?" Kiva asked.
"I don't know." Sean said.
"Yes you do. You're just being stubborn as usual." Kiva said amused.
"I am not stubborn." Sean said.
"Oh like hell you aren't. I wanted to name Sam Ally but you wouldn't back down from Samantha. In the end I gave up." Kiva said giggling.
"Ok...Thats fair." Sean said.
"Sean...You have right to be angry...But don't let innocent people pay the price for what they did." Kiva said as she vanished making him frown.
Meanwhile
The Kaiju had begun to attack coruscant as they destroyed the senate building.
Gunships began to fire on them with little effect as one grabbed a piece of the building throwing it at them making one crash down.
"Man theres no way we can hold them off without suffering heavy casualties." Anakin said as the whole place became a war zone for the Kaiju.
"Evacuations are already underway. People are leaving the planet." Mace said.
"Like thats gonna do any good. The only safe place is earth since they have weapons that can stop these things easily. Of which we can't get now because you and Piel screwed everyone over!" Anakin yelled.
"Anakin now is not the time." Kenobi said as one charged at the temple.
Palpatine was in his office seeing all the destruction the Kaiju had brought.
"All the plans I had to make my own empire...And the Jedi ruined it all by ignoring the warning of one with so much potential." Palpatine said before one was about to smash his office making him glare before it crushed him in his office killing him.
"The Chancellor!" Anakin yelled.
"Theres nothing we can do for them." Kenobi said before more showed up.
"This is truly the end." Mace said.
Only for a portal to open up.
"Now what?" Anakin asked before something stepped forward.
(Insert go Big or Go extinct from Pacific Rim)
Coming through was a large Metal Robotic machine that had a reptilian design to it. (MECHAGODZILLA from Godzilla VS Kong)
"Whoa." Ahsoka said as it roared.
Inside Sean was in the pilot center with some helmet on his head.
"Ok you wanted my help. You'll get it." Sean said on the comms pressing a button before his machine roared agin.
The Kaiju roared before charging at him.
"Here we go." Sean said as his machine grabbed the head tightly before the hand spins taking the head off easily.
Out by the Senate another giant machine appeared before pulling out a sword. (Ultra V from War of the Monsters video game. Still better than most games today)
Turok was inside this one before one charged at him.
"Let the fun begin." Turok said doing a spin kick forcing it back before slicing the head right off.
"How do you like me mother fuckers!" Turok yelled.
"Oh god." Sean said hearing this before blasting rockets at two others killing them instantly.
"So this is how he's been protecting Earth. I'm impressed." Anakin said.
"Actually this is the last resort thing." Sean said on the comms splitting one in half as Turok was cutting through the others easily.
The largest of the Kaiju charged at Sean before the mouth started glowing before firing a laser at it cutting it in half as it's guts spilled out.
"And to think I've never used this in action till now." Sean said as the planet was clear of all Kaiju.
(End Song)
Later
"So why come back now?" Mace asked Sean as they were in the council chambers.
"Not that it's any of your business but I had a visit from an old friend everyone here knows." Sean said.
"Who?" Kenobi asked.
"Your old master." Sean said shocking them.
"Qui-Gon...But he's dead." Kenobi said.
"Apparently he found the secrets towards a special immortality using the force." Sean said.
"What you are saying is impossible." Mundi said.
"Your really gonna do this again? I'm wrong and you're always right?" Sean asked glaring at him.
"No...Thats not what I mean. But the dead are part of the cosmic force. And lose their individuality." Mundi said.
"See...You guys never change. Never admit your wrong." Sean said.
"That is not what I am saying. That what nature intends." Mundi said.
"And yet I saw him. Want proof?" Sean asked.
"Look into the mind...We shall." Yoda said.
"Fine. If it shuts you idiots up." Sean said as Yoda and Mace looked into his mind seeing his memories.
"Well?" Koth asked.
"It seems he's right. Qui-Gon has learned something none here know about." Mace said shocking them.
"Told ya fat head." Sean said to Mundi who sighed.
"Did he tell you how to achieve this?" Koth asked.
"No. And even if he did I wouldn't tell you. None here deserve a power like that." Sean said.
"Now listen here." Koth said before Sean aimed a gun at him making him gasp in shock.
"Shut...Up." Sean said.
"Enough. So what happens now?" Mace asked.
"I convinced the Millitary council to help the rest of the galaxy using the Jaegers." Sean said.
"What exactly are these machines?" Shaak Ti asked.
"Since you asked so kindly I'll tell. Their machines that have been built as a last resort. Special weapons that are designed to kill the Kaiju. But...They have a flaw...That only a select few can get past." Sean said.
"And what flaw is that?" Fisto asked.
"In order to control them they require neural control. Using your mind to control them...But one pilot systems are too much for a single mind to handle. At least 98% of them. So they need a two pilot system. Both control half the body. The Drift as I call it." Sean said.
"And I take it these pilots needs to share a bond in order to fully control it." Kenobi summarized.
"Yes. The stronger the bond the better you can fight. Me and my brother are among the exception. Our machines have special top of the line quantum computers to help the process so only the two of us can pilot them." Sean said.
"Why not just have them in all of them?" Mundi said.
"Do you seriously think we didn't try? The test pilots for them died because their minds weren't strong enough to handle it. Only certain people can. People like me because of how focused I am. Turok keeps his focus pretty good." Sean said.
"And you said these Jaegers are the last resort?" Mace asked.
"I have other weapons to use on them. The Jaegers are the last resort since they are more deadly than the other weapons I made." Sean said.
"So you'll help us against them?" Mundi asked making him glare.
"My interest is in protecting the people. I...am not doing this for the Order. You guys mean nothing to me anymore. At the least the generation I knew. You guys proved your arrogant and make flawed choices at every turn. It's proof enough the Order needs to be replaced with something new." Sean said leaving.
"How arrogant." Koth said.
"He isn't wrong. We let this happen. He tried to warn us and we didn't even listen." Plo said.
"And we've made too many mistakes in the last two decades. Ignoring his warning about the Kaiju and when Qui-Gon warned us that a Sith lord had attacked him. And many other mistakes." Fisto said.
"That doesn't mean we should disband our order after 10,000 years of service." Koth said.
"Theres an old saying. When something doesn't work anymore you need to replace it with something new. Perhaps thats the reality of the situation." Shaak Ti said.
"Hmm. Lost the trust of the galaxy we have. Their faith...Their trust...Their hopes. Crushed it we have." Yoda said.
"When this war is over perhaps it is better a new order takes our place." Adi Galia said.
Later
Sean walked the halls of the temple before arriving outside a room before walking in.
Seeing it was his old room he smiled looking over the place.
"Old memories?" Shaak Ti asked as he faced her.
"Good before the bad." Sean said as she sat down. "What is it?" Sean asked.
"Theres...Talk of the order being disbanded." Shaak Ti said surprising him.
"I figured the truth would damage the order but I never expected that so quickly." Sean said sitting next to her. "Your actually scared aren't you?" Sean asked.
"I...have been a Jedi my whole life. It's all I know. But I know we failed the Galaxy. Our arrogance led to these problems. And I failed you." Shaak Ti said.
"You at least defended me when I was being beaten while Kenobi did nothing." Sean said making her nod.
"But I should have said something. Mace should have said something since he was your Master back then. Seeing what happened 15 years ago...Made me question for a time if our order still held onto the principles it was founded on." Shaak Ti said.
"It does...It's just a lot let that power and fame go to their heads." Sean said. "If it does get disbanded...What would you do?" Sean asked.
"I can't be a Jedi anymore since no one would trust me after being part of the problem. I don't know." Shaak Ti said before he smiled.
"You...Could come with me to Earth at my home." Sean said surprising her. "Unlike most here your the one I don't have issues with since you didn't actually ridicule me or humiliate me. You just said I should have dropped it to have it stop." Sean said.
"I hated seeing one with such promise in such a position." Shaak Ti said.
"Yeah. As time goes by certain things are meant to change. Orders, Governments, even people like the Jedi change. It's part of life. If the Jedi do get disbanded a new order will have to take its place since there must always be someone to carry out the objectives of peace and order." Sean said.
"Would you lead that order?" Shaak Ti asked making him scoff.
"No. My days of the Force are long since over. Having a lightsaber is one thing you don't need to be a Jedi to have one. Theres no law on that. Nope. My place is making new technology and weapons till we can end this war with the Kaiju for good." Sean said.
"And when it does end? What will you do?" Shaak Ti asked making him smile.
"I look forward to retirement with my family." Sean said making her giggle.
"I can see fatherhood suits you more than being a Jedi." Shaak Ti said making him smirk.
"Have you ever considered having a family?" Sean asked.
"I did a long time ago. But...I doubt anyone would want to be with me for my part in all this and my age." Shaak Ti said.
"What are you talking about. You still look beautiful as Aayla does now and you're only 33." Sean said surprising her before giggling.
"Always a charmer." Shaak Ti making him chuckle.
"Runs in the family." Sean said.
Later
"YOU IDIOTS DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE A SITH LORD WAS IN OFFICE!" Sean roared at the council holding Palpatine's lightsaber showing it was Red shocking them.
"Where did you find that?" Kenobi asked.
"In what remained of Palpatine's office. You idiots had a Sith lord in charge of the whole Republic AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN FUCKING NOTICE!" Sean roared shocking them.
"We had suspicions of him for certain but we never suspected he was a Sith Lord. He kept his dark intentions well hidden from us." Mundi said.
"Oh yeah right. You guys weren't even trying. This is the nail on the coffin. The Senate knows about this now and their blaming all of you for letting this happen. Your supposed to stop them from getting anywhere close to here. And you royally fucked up this time." Sean said.
"Sean we haven't seen the Sith in a thousand years. We assumed they were gone for good. It's hard to find them when theres only two." Kenobi said.
"That is far from an standing excuse and you know it. Even I knew there was something off about the guy and I just met him three months ago. And I'll bet you anything those clones are part of his grand plans." Sean said.
"The Clones? Sifo-Dyas made them fro the Senate." Mundi said.
"Did he?" Sean questioned making them frown. "Theres no way Palpatine was in office just to start a war and have the other side lose theres no logic to that. I have a theory and I wanna test it." Sean said.
"And what theory is that?" Mace asked.
"Have you heard of inhibitor chips before?" Sean asked.
"No...I don't think we have." Plo said.
"Their small chips implanted in the brain that contain programing. Like droids but they send out pulses that make the person with them follow through unless they have a strong will. And I'll bet you anything that they probably have them. Which makes sense since the fact is they could be implanted without their knowledge at a young age." Sean said.
"There...Is a great deal of logic to this." Kenobi said.
"Get me some of the clones." Sean said.
Later
"Well?" Mace asked.
"I was right. The clones have inhibitor chips. They can only be activated by saying a certain phrase however though and under certain circumstances." Sean said making him frown.
"You were right...Our arrogance has blinded us." Mace said.
"You know the Senate is not gonna like this. They'll no doubt push for the Order to be disbanded since if their greatest enemy infiltrated the Republic so easily and almost could exterminate the order like this...They won't be able to trust you anymore." Sean said.
"I know...But there always must be someone to carry out our mission to bring peace and order." Mace said.
"True. But...There might be an answer to solving this." Sean said.
"And that is?" Mace asked.
"Have the council disband the order...And let me build a new one." Sean said.
"You know some of the order won't like that." Mace said.
"I know. Some will no doubt argue that they can make amends or fight this...But it's not up to them anymore. The Jedi are not as reliable as they once were during the days of the old Republic and before that. They keep making mistake after mistake these days. And thats not something the galaxy can afford anymore." Sean said.
"No...It isn't. When we disband it...What will this new order be called?" Mace asked.
"I was thinking of...The Guardians. And theres also talk about making a new government since the Republic also has the same flaws and Dooku was also killed in his palace on Serenno. So both the senates will need to make a new government to begin anew." Sean said.
"And what would this new government be called?" Mace asked.
"Pentecost called it the Legion." Sean said. (Theres really no better name to call a government or group since Regime sounds evil and anything else doesn't have the same appeal. I already used Regime once in Foreign warriors and I'm regretting it.)
"I suppose everything needs a new beginning." Mace said.
Later
Sean sighed as he walked into his home on Earth.
After the Millitary council decided to build the Legion they decided who would be in charge of the whole thing. They selected Organa to be the Chairman of the Legion and new laws and policies would be made in the weeks that followed.
As for the Order...The Senate had fully disbanded the order since they couldn't trust them anymore.
Now the Guardians were being built to take their place with Jedi from after Sean's time in the order to take control.
Some of the Jedi had been offered places within the Legion as advisors but nothing more.
Others on the other hand just left to find a purpose in life.
Yoda however feeling the most responsible went to Degobah in self imposed exile since he felt he had failed the Order and the galaxy the most since he as well refused to listen to Sean's warning. (He's made just as many bad choices since it was his idea to cover up the evidence of the clones being made by Dooku which was just plain dumb)
So now a new order was in the works while the Jaegers were being commisioned across the galaxy.
"Mmm." Sean said sitting down.
"You look exhausted." Aayla said coming in.
"I'm starting to regret helping now since I'll have less time with you and Sam." Sean said making her smile as she kissed him.
"I think it'll be worth it in the end. And once we find a way to close this breach you can relax again." Aayla said making him smile as she sat down next to him. "By the way It was nice of you to offer Shaak Ti a place here." Aayla said.
"It was the least I could do since she at least wasn't like the others." Sean said.
One thing was certain.
Things were gonna change and for the better.
Author's note: I was gonna do a lemon this chapter but I decided to wait a couple more before that. Now next chapter is where the changes begin.
