AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Hi, readers :)
Just a quick announcement that the next chapter will be uploaded at the beginning of December, as I currently do not have access to my files (including the already written/edited next chapters). However, I'm writing more content while I wait for my files. I'm already reaching the 200th chapter and things get a bit complicated, a bit sweet, a bit rough, a bit more personal as truths start to come out and mess with certain people. Are you ready for some more action and for the unexpected to hit you and leave you wondering what the heck just happened lol…and just how long has it all been going on?
CHAPTER 138
MY FRIENDS CALL ME JJ
"Prentiss, are you ready to get your lazy ass beat at abdominals, pushups, pull ups and a few dozen other wonderful things?" Angie said cheerfully as she walked into Emily's office, bright and early on Monday morning.
"Also, I can't wait for our coffee and cake at the-…oh!?" She trailed off in surprise when she saw JJ sitting in Emily's chair instead.
"Good morning." JJ threaded lightly with Angela, ever since the girl had opened up about something personal.
"Good morning, Agent Jareau. I uh, I was…" Angie said lamely.
She hadn't expected anyone else to be in, so early in the morning. This was the third time Emily and her would meet like this, for the Monday training and breakfast, and there had never been anyone else but Emily in, at that hour.
"Agent Prentiss is out for a few days." JJ informed her.
"Oh? Why? Is she okay? Oh my God, is she okay!?"
"Yes, she is fine. She just needed some personal time. She wanted me to tell you that she's sorry, but she can't make it to your Monday training this week." JJ lied.
Emily had been so incredibly struck by the surprising news that she was going to Paris after the case, that she had forgotten to even text Richard about it. She never mentioned anything about apologizing to Angela, to JJ or to anyone else. But JJ was smart enough to figure it out and to come up with something nice to tell this girl who was rocking her gym wear and standing by the door of Emily's office expectantly.
"Damn it, I have to go train with the Rookies now." Angie rolled her eyes and it made JJ smile.
"You look just like Emily when you do that." JJ said hesitantly. She didn't know whether Angie would want to be around her for long enough to have some small talk, or if she even wanted to be talking to JJ at all.
By the looks of it, Angie was back to ignoring JJ. She wasn't looking at her, but she let her eyes wander around Emily's office instead. Soon enough she figured how upset that behavior made JJ feel, even though she now knew the truth. Angie knew that it wasn't fair to keep on making JJ feel bad, so she had to come up with something.
"Why are you here so early?" Angie asked.
"When Emily is away, I'm taking over her spot, which means paperwork and all sorts of fun stuff, which means I have to come here before anyone else. Also, I needed to be here early today, so I can tell you what she said, in person. I didn't know how else to contact you." JJ said sweetly. It almost didn't look like she was lying about the last part.
Angie eyed the desk, full of papers and document folders. She knew that Emily's job was hard, not only out on the field, but also back in the office.
"May I?" Angie asked, curiously walking over to the desk and grabbing a few papers, making sure they didn't have the 'Confidential' stamp on them.
"Oh, I know how to fill these in. Clara showed me the other day. It's just some basic stuff, it's not that hard. I can help you out if you want. But you'll have to check my calculations before you sign. I'm warning you, I suck at math and I'm not even joking." Angie chuckled and it made JJ relax a little bit.
"Really? That would be nice. I mean, yeah, they are basic things, but there's plenty of them and I haven't even had my second coffee yet." JJ shrugged, placing a folder on her right.
"How about this – we go train a little bit, just so I get spotted training and not being a lazy bum. I mean, I am excused from Monday PFT, but I still must train or else I'm in trouble. So, let's do some squats for the bum-bum and go get some coffee before we come back here and smash this out?" Angie suggested.
JJ raised an eyebrow when she heard 'smash this out'. This was not typical American slang and it sounded weird that Angie would say those words, but then again – Angie was a pretty weird person anyway.
"Are you…sure…about it?" JJ needed a confirmation. Maybe it was just a dream. Maybe she was hearing things.
"Yeah. Come on. You look like you need some rest and it's only the beginning of the day. If you're stepping in for Emily, that means the team would need a 150% of your best performance during the day and you can't go around, looking like a mess. Get up, we need some air." Angie smiled and put down the papers she was still holding in her hand.
Angie walked out and JJ followed her. She made a stop by the room where the team usually changed clothes at. They had a shower at their disposal and lockers for some personal belongings. It was usually the place where the girls would gather up and discuss embarrassing things while chuckling like teenagers and spraying different scented body mists in the air until it was hard to even breathe. Each one of them had a different favorite scent and the mixture of all was nauseating.
"So that's the girls' locker room?" Angie asked, looking around curiously while JJ was stuffing gym things in a bag.
"Yeah, the boys are on the other side of this fence over there. It's not much, but it does the job. We can take a shower and change in here, plus, we keep some stuff in the lockers. Garcia always jokes around that it feels like we're all back in high school. One time, she organized a little party after work, girls only, and we wore the Pink Ladies robes and got drunk…with non-alcoholic drinks." JJ trailed off, remembering something.
"Oh, by the way, thanks for being cool about me, joining the club." Angie smiled.
"She gave you the robe? Well, you're officially one of us now. Just wait until Garcia learns about it, I bet she'll come up with some wild party to host in your honor."
"I can't wait! Garcia is awesome! I mean, so are all of you, really…" Angie said, with her back against Emily's locker. "That includes you…" She added in a tone just above a whisper.
"Thanks. You're pretty damn cool yourself." JJ smiled politely.
It was great that this girl - the same girl who wouldn't look at JJ or talk to her up until recently; was reaching out and willing to spend time with her now. What changed?
"Hey, do you happen to have pen and paper in your locker?" Angie asked and JJ tore a page off a small notebook she kept, handing it to Angie, along with a pencil.
While JJ changed into her gym clothes, Angie turned around, giving her some privacy, and she scribbled down something quickly.
"Ready?" JJ asked, taking a step towards the door.
She pretended not to have noticed the moment when Angie casually walked by Emily's locker and stuffed the paper inside, through the small hole on top of it.
When they got to the gym, JJ swiped her badge, but Angie had to ask for someone to come over and open the side door for her.
"I'm Emily Prentiss' plus one, on Mondays. Angela Hunter." She introduced herself and the woman gladly let her in.
The gym was reserved for active Agents only and Emily had put Angela on the guest list for free entrance, only on Mondays.
"You're in damn good shape." Angie pointed out when they started their work out.
"Thanks. I've always been kind of athletic. I played on the soccer team in high-school and then I just kept on training on my own through college. And then, the Academy happened. I don't have to tell you how hard they push us, eh?"
"Oh, please! PFT every morning and then we barely have enough time to run to our next class or training." Angie rolled her eyes, reminding JJ of Emily once again.
"You know, Emily says you're one of the best at the Academy this year. I bet you're working hard."
"Oh, I don't think that there could be a fair 'best' competition among us. Some of us excel in some disciplines, but fail in others. It's not about being the 'best', because that's just not possible. It's about finding the thing you're best at and pursuing that path." Angie shrugged, looking away with a frown.
JJ was not dumb. She knew that Angie was talking about the internship for the BAU.
"She tried…" JJ whispered.
By this point everyone knew how hard Emily Prentiss had tried to get that girl on the team, even if it was just for a stupid internship.
"Yeah, I know. And I'm grateful for it…" Angie tried to make herself smile, but she failed at it.
She had known it for a while – her dream internship was not happening for her, but it still hurt to pretend like she was okay with it.
Thankfully for her, the next step on their training did not allow them to speak much, so they spent about half an hour in complete silence, before they were both exhausted and done with it.
"Breakfast?" Angie asked.
"Yeah, let me just…catch my…my breath…" JJ was now sitting on the floor, with her back against a wall, her face red like it was on fire.
Angie did the same, just to relax a little and set the mood for an amazing coffee and something sweet.
"Do you mind if I choose the place? And I'd also like to offer the breakfast." Angie said as soon as they started walking towards the gym exit.
"It's ok, choose any place you want. But you really don't have to offer…"
"No, Agent Jareau, I insist. Please? It's the least I could do after treating you so…poorly, for the lack of a better word."
"Alright…" JJ agreed, but only because Emily had already warned her that Angela was extremely headstrong and she would do as she pleases, whether the other person liked it or not. She also knew that the girl was not too well off with her money.
"But on one condition!" JJ added.
"Uh-oh, I feel like I'm about to sell my soul to the Devil! Then again, I am the Devil, so I'm just confused now…" Angie said dramatically, making JJ laugh.
JJ was starting to see what Emily liked about this girl. She was free-spirited and no matter how hard things were for her, she never backed down and she would always crack a joke and make someone else laugh and feel good.
"Actually, there's this one thing you should know about me…It's that my friends call me JJ…" She smiled, holding the door for Angie. "And I would like it if you do, too."
"I don't feel like I deserve that…"
"Please. I insist." JJ tried to do the one thing that she always did when she was establishing a closer relationship with someone and wanted to earn their trust – she looked Angie in the eyes.
Then Angie did the one thing she always did, when JJ looked at her – she found an excuse to look away instantly.
JJ could tell how uncomfortable Angie felt, whenever she looked at her face. It almost seemed to her like Angie believed she had something on her own face, like a scar, something that made her ugly or not worthy of being looked at. Then again, Angie only acted that way with JJ and nobody else, and JJ had noticed that.
Angie chose one of the small coffee bars on campus - one she was sure accepted food coupons; and they walked there after the work-out.
Angie treated herself with something sweet, even though she usually never consumed this many sugary things in the morning, not during her stay at the Academy anyway. But Mondays were her cheat-days, thanks to Emily Prentiss, and since she was now gone, the least Angie could do was to enjoy a treat with Emily's best friend – a person whom she had not been too nice to, for her own reasons.
"So, you have two kids…" Angie started some small talk.
They had their waves of silence every now and then, when things would feel strained and weird between them. Angie was doing her best to eliminate those moments and to keep the conversation going.
"Yeah, Henry and Michael, but we call him Mickey." An instant bright smile grew on JJ's face. She was a fierce FBI Agent, but she was a mother first. Her two boys were her entire world.
"Beautiful names…" Angie trailed off, clearly curious about the origins.
"Yeah…" JJ also trailed off, clearly not wanting to talk about it.
Angie gave her a moment. Maybe she'd open up after that.
"Michael is named after the guy who trained me, my Mentor when I first started off at the Bureau." JJ said with a faint smile.
"What about Henry?" Angie's curiosity was limitless.
"He, uh…" JJ shrugged.
The reason behind Henry getting that name was something painful for her. She had never told that story, to anyone, not even to her therapist.
"What would you have named them if they were girls?" Angie changed the question, since JJ was clearly not comfortable talking about Henry's name.
"Haley and Michelle." JJ said within a second. Clearly, she had given this a thought.
"Wow, those must be important to you, if you had both male and female versions of the names." Angie smiled politely, still looking blankly into the space nearby, but not at JJ.
"Yeah, they were, uh…promises I've made to myself, a long time ago. I'm just lucky my husband Will agreed on both names and we didn't need to have that annoying quarrel that all future parents go through, because I was not going to make a compromise, when it came to naming my kids. Egoistically…" JJ let out a silent chuckle. She was headstrong and Angie admired that.
Strangely, when JJ looked sideways, she saw Angie frown. Something was bothering the girl and she couldn't figure it out.
"Why? Are you thinking about kids?" JJ asked, wondering if that was why Angie was asking about JJ's kids.
"Oh, Hell no! Not for the long run, if ever, actually." Angie was quick to reply. She sounded terrified of the thought of ever possibly having kids. "I'm just curious. I love kids and I'm really good with kids. And I've heard you had two, so I wanted to ask."
"Hey, maybe you can meet them, if you want. I mean, the BAU is organizing a small get together outdoors for an upcoming birthday celebration. Matt and I are bringing our little monsters, so it should be fun. It's still a month away, but Emily must have told you about it."
Angie thought for a second before replying. "No, she actually didn't…"
"Oh…" JJ frowned, imagining the reason why Emily had kept quiet. "It's actually for Henry's birthday. Would you like to come?"
Angie realized why Emily hadn't felt like she was at liberty to invite her to that get together, not after all the tension between Angie and JJ.
"Yes! I mean, if it's not awkward or anything…"
"No, not at all. We had the talk, I get your side of the story. We need to move on. Plus, it's actually kind of refreshing to spend time with you." JJ said honestly and it warmed Angie's heart.
At that moment, she came up with a plan. She needed to buy something oddly specific, so she could hang out with JJ more. It made perfect sense, in her own head. All she needed was Bryan's Amazon Prime account and his credit card, again.
"You don't have to get him a present, by the way. He asked for no presents this year. He wants everyone who possibly can, to donate something to an organization, instead." JJ informed her.
"Oh? How noble of him. I figured all kids wanted these days were new phones and video games."
"No, not my Henry. He chose a non-profit anti bullying organization to donate to. He sold a lot of his toys and he is donating every cent of it, on the day of his birthday." JJ was proud of her son.
"Anti-bullying, huh?"
"Yeah. He's a smart kid and you must know what happens with smart kids, at school."
"Actually, I've never been bullied. Well, kids have tried, but I'd either punch them out or retaliate in any other possible way, so they never dared to touch me or talk to me again. Let's just say I wasn't always cute and innocent."
"Wow, tough girl!" JJ laughed, imagining this 23 year old, who still wore a bow in her hair, jumping on a tough guy who tried to bully her in high school. It must have been the funniest thing in the world.
"Why was your son bullied?" Angie asked, wondering if it was the usual – for no reason at all.
"Like I said, he's smart. He is obsessed with Spence and he wants to be just like him, so he always asks his teachers more questions and he likes to do science experiments, so the kids naturally have it out for him. It got so bad that he even got expelled."
"Wait. Why would they expel the victim?" Angie gasped. It didn't make sense, although it wasn't like the same thing had not happened to her, multiple times in the past, as well.
"Because he jumped two boys who were being mean to him and calling him Mommy's Boy."
"Why? What was the trigger?"
"The nick name, actually. He's been…uhm, going through something lately."
"Feeling like his mommy isn't there for him?" Angie asked bluntly.
"I guess you could say that. I mean, I do my best, but I've been…well, going through things myself, at work, so I guess I didn't really spend enough time with him and it all blew up in my face."
Angie saw how upset JJ was, when discussing that. She also sensed how liberating it felt for her, to come out and say those words, even if she was talking to a stranger, basically. In fact, it was even better. JJ had been adamant to talking to her colleagues about it and she had postponed therapy for as long as she possibly could, but there was something bittersweet about pouring it all out, over a cup of coffee, with someone new. JJ wouldn't have opened up about it, if she didn't feel comfortable with Angie.
"Anyway. He actually likes his new school and he's made a few new friends already, so I guess it all worked out fine. I just wish he hadn't had to go through all this drama and emotional pain. It must be extremely hard to be the kid of an FBI Agent…" JJ smiled, putting an end to that discussion.
"Ya don't say…" Angie whispered to herself in the most ironic tone, while taking a sip of her coffee.
They both needed a moment to breathe, after this heavy topic. Both just looked around, enjoying the faint chatter around them, while sipping their extra large coffees in silence, for the next couple of minutes.
"So, where's Prentiss?" Angie asked curiously.
"She…uh…she's off for a few days." JJ replied, suspiciously using the same words as she had used that morning, in the office.
"Doing what?" Angie smirked. She had her suspicion, but she needed to know how much, if anything at all, JJ knew about Emily's personal life at the moment.
"I don't even want to imagine!" JJ chuckled.
She knew Emily had a bit of a kinky side to her, plus, she had heard the legends of her escapades, being her best friend for so many years. She could only imagine what she would do with a guy that she was actually into, this time. Or rather – what she might do to him.
Angie eyed JJ up and down. She was tense and acting suspicious, she clearly must have known about Emily's so called 'boyfriend'. But Angie wouldn't say anything first, out of respect for Emily.
"Let's call her and see what she's up to!" Angie suggested cheerfully, pointing at JJ's phone.
JJ retrieved the phone from the table and put it in her pocket before she took a sip of coffee, mentally calculating what time it would be for Emily at that moment, in France.
"Don't think it's a good time." JJ stated.
"What, with time difference and all that?" Angie smirked, finally pushing it a little further.
"How did you know?" JJ raised an eyebrow. Emily had barely given any information to JJ about this guy and now Angie seemed to know about him, too.
"I'm a profiler!" Angie smirked, but then realized how lame it sounded when she was boosting about it to an actual profiler.
"So, have you seen his photo?" JJ figured there was no need to deny it any longer. She needed answers and since Emily wasn't giving them to her, she figured she'd grill her protégée, instead.
"Photo!? Girl, please! She wouldn't even tell me his name, so I call him French Daddy now. Seems fitting, you know, given it's Emily…"
JJ blushed, hearing Angie say those things. How did she already know about Emily's…tastes and little kinks? Granted, Emily spoke about personal things like she didn't give a damn what others thought about her, but it was weird that she'd discuss those things with someone she had only just met, plus, their age difference was notable, so how come Emily felt so comfortable talking to Angie about that?
"Do you think she really likes him?" Angie continued.
"I guess so. I mean, from what I've heard her say about him, combined with all the years that I've known her to date douchebags and dump them after a week or two, I guess this one is a keeper." JJ said before taking a bite of her pastry.
"That's cool. It's about time she met someone who'd sweep her off her feet and make her feel loved and happy." Angie smiled, but to JJ those words sounded way too suspicious.
About time? Angie had only known Emily for a bunch of weeks since the Academy had started, during which time she had only had a few brief interactions with her, as far as JJ knew.
"Has there ever been anyone significant in her life?" Angie kept on asking.
"No, not at all. I don't even remember the names of the guys she's been with and, if I had to be honest, I don't think she does, either."
"That bad?" Angie raised an eyebrow.
"Let's just say that Emily and commitment don't go together."
"But she seems pretty committed to the team." Angie countered right away.
"Yes, she is. But it's different."
"How so?"
"I don't know. It just is. I love my team as well, but I wouldn't marry my team and I don't have kids with my team. I don't go back home, to my team. Yes, I'm committed to them, but I have a whole other life, outside of it." JJ tried to keep it short, but detailed enough.
"Hmm. Well, she doesn't have any kids. Wait, does she?" Angie asked casually. She was really good at making people talk and JJ was allowing her to do that.
"Unfortunately, she does not." JJ frowned.
She remembered a very recent conversation with Emily, where she had spoken about her desire to have a child, on top of all the other conversations that JJ had tried to strike up through the years. Emily had always shut her down. Children were more than a sore subject for Emily and she would never cave in and reply honestly, not the way she recently had. JJ had been surprised to see Emily so vulnerable, so open about her desires, even if it had come out in a fit of rage and despair, since JJ kept poking the subject.
"How so?"
"It just never really happened for her." JJ shrugged. How the Hell was she supposed to know why?
"So, she never had the chance to be a mother?" Angie kept on asking.
"No." JJ was confused.
If Emily did not have kids, she clearly never had the chance to be a mother. What kind of a stupid question was that? Angie was smarter than that. And that's when it hit her…
"You sure do ask a lot of questions, young girl." JJ chuckled, trying to make it sound casual, instead of offensive. "How about you?"
"What about me?" Angie perked up.
"Tell me about your family." To JJ, this was a very normal question to ask. Angie had asked about JJ's kids earlier, so she figured it was okay to ask about Angie's family.
"I'd rather not." Angie did not mean to sound as defensive as she did, but she could not help it. That was something she never spoke about, with anyone. Not even Dr. Allen was ever able to crack the mystery of Angie's upbringing.
"Alright. Then tell me something you want to share, about yourself." JJ re-phrased her question and, to her surprise, Angie was willing to talk for hours.
"Okay, so, I'm a nerd! Like, I'm the biggest geek you'll ever meet. Well, after Reid, of course. I always say what's on my mind and that often makes people label me as a bitch, but I'd rather be that, than a double-faced bitch anyway." She laughed. "I don't have any social media accounts and up until the case in New York, with the BAU, I thought Tik Tok was a clock reference. I despise going to the cinema and I must have watched about ten movies, tops, in my entire life. I just don't enjoy them. I've only seen a few TV shows, and not even regularly. I prefer real human interaction, to a fake man-made movie. Having said that – I also hate human interaction, because humans can be douchebags, so I choose the people around me very carefully. I like reading weird things and trying to make sense of them, like this one time when I found a used Neurobiology manual on sale for five quid, at some book fair, and I got it and I realized it was a med school book and I was clueless about what any of the words inside meant. I started googling things, just to make sense of what I was reading, and I found out that it's actually quite interesting. Challenging, but interesting. So, I volunteered for a job at a local hospital and I kept being warned that I'd be kicked out when I stalked some doctor's ass and kept on begging him to let me read his notes on something he was working on. Turns out, it was some experiment type of thing and he did not appreciate it when I broke into his office. He thought I was going to steal the stuff and he flipped out. And okay, yes, I clearly got kicked out, which sucked, because I wanted to volunteer for the Medical Examiner's office, too."
"Woah…" JJ was in shock.
This was the most random way of presenting oneself, with the weirdest, most out there pieces of information.
"Wait, I might be able to help you. There's this woman I know, she's a medical examiner. She always complains that nobody sticks around for too long, down at the morgue. I can give her a call and see if she'd want a helping hand. Although, are you sure you're willing to volunteer spending hours with dead bodies all around you?" JJ suggested.
"Yes, trust me, I prefer them to the living creatures! That would be so cool! But, I don't think it's smart of me to take up on anything that is not Academy related, at the moment. I need to be focused. Our last weeks here will be the hardest, plus, I have to work on my final thesis."
"Oh, I remember when I was writing mine. We had to either write a thesis or present a project. I was good at communications, so I chose to write. I figured I'd have enough time to do projects and more action-filled stuff on the field, when I graduated." JJ thought for a moment and those days seemed like a lifetime ago.
"But I thought you went into being a liaison straight out of the Academy…" Angie repeated what she had heard.
"No. I uh, I was pining for Field Agent. Originally…"
"Oh? Did you flank your exam?" There it was – Angie saying what was on her mind, just like she had warned JJ a minute ago.
"No, actually, I had great results and I graduated and got my internship as a Field Agent. That was the start of my career at the Bureau…"
"What changed?"
"Well, my first time on the field…" JJ gulped. Remembering that night was not something she ever wanted to do.
"There was a case and my mentor, Michael, asked me to jump in. It was the very first time I hit the field with a badge and a gun. It was a very…personal case, for the Unit. It came out of nowhere and they needed all hands on deck, so I found myself in a vest and on the way to the Bureau car faster than I could realize. And uh…"
JJ took a moment to breathe.
"And then things happened and I…I just couldn't do it anymore. I caved in, after my first case, and I requested to be downgraded to liaison. Not many people know about that, so I'd appreciate it if you-…"
"Oh, I won't tell a soul!" Angie cut JJ off with those words. She was extremely good at keeping people's secrets and even better at keeping her own.
"So, that case kind of ruined you, huh?" Angie asked, biting her lower lip.
"In a way, maybe. But it also made me feel like I've made a difference, in this world." JJ smiled. It was weird - seconds ago she was all emotional and now she was smiling.
"How so?"
"You ask more questions than Mickey!" JJ laughed, changing the topic completely.
If she uttered another word about her first field experience, she'd cry a river and then purposefully drown herself in it. That was how strongly she felt about it and how much it had affected her through her entire life after that day.
"Oh, bullocks! I have to run. I'm so sorry, I have a theory class." Angie excused herself when she realized what time it was.
"It's alright. Thanks for the breakfast." JJ said politely, as they both stood up from the table.
"I'll come over to the office straight after the class and I'll work on those documents during my lunch break, so you can review them and correct them afterwards." Angie informed her.
"No, it's alright. You don't have to ruin your lunch plans because of that. I can handle it on my own."
"JJ, I promised you I'd help. And I never back down from a promise. So, I will see you as soon as my class finishes. Plus, it wouldn't completely suck to sit behind Prentiss' desk and pretend to be in charge for, like, an hour or so." Angie smirked.
She was curious about Emily's job. She wanted to know what Emily did, how she did it, when she did it, how she handled things, how she spoke to people, what hand gestures she used, how her face moved. She wanted to know everything that there was to know about Emily Prentiss.
REVIEW REPLIES:
"Ducksdragonfly" Hmm, that might be the case for Emily, but is it for Angela, too? They both sure care about one another, but for different reasons they need to love themselves first: Emily, because she then needs to let Richard love her; Angela, because she needs to let Monkey back into her life in a way that won't ultimately leave her hurt and alone again.
"rmpcmfan" Well, Angie sure puts a gigantic amount of pressure on her shoulders, but is it that wrong, though? I mean, if we think about it - the Trainees are learning how to SAVE LIVES! I can't even imagine how draining that process must be, both emotionally and physically. So, in a way, I 'excuse' Angela's harshness and negativity with the fact that she needs to always be alert and doing her absolute best, so she could earn that badge...right? I know it's just a fiction story, but I highly doubt that the real life FBI Trainees don't share the same drive and motivation as Angela does. I mean, I hope they do, LOL! Anyways, Angie prides herself in 'being a profiler' hehe, so she is even more upset that she didn't profile the scene from the moment her parner and her stepped foot in that alley. However, remember their trainings are being closely monitored by ALL kinds of real Agents - profilers, SWAT team members, firearms specialists, etc. So, if she failed to profile the scene, maybe her handling technique would be appreciated by someone else who was looking to see just that during the training :)!
"sweetkid45" There certainly is some special kind of a bond between Emily and Angela. I enjoy making them quarrel when Emily is being a bit too open and honest about her love life and Angela cringes and begs her to stop talking, lol! When Emily comes back from Paris, do you think she would have brought Angela some present? :) And yes, Angie did a good job at the training, but only after failing a few times hahaha.
