Chapter 5: Outside the Game

Agent BM: Yes she is. And probably

The next day, Vanellope got ready to go pick up Lucy.

"I'll be back soon with Lucy. I think she's gonna like it here." Vanellope told Shank.

"Maybe, but from what you've told me about her she may not." Shank replied.

Vanellope just shrugged, and then left Slaughter Race.

In Sugar Crunch Run, Lucy got ready for her big trip out of the game.

"Well here I go." she told her friends.

"You be careful out there." said Kevin.

"I will."

"And be sure to tell us everything." added Tootie.

"Don't worry. When I get back, I'll tell you guys all about the different sites."

A few minutes later, Vanellope arrived.

"Morning everyone." she greeted.

"Morning, Vanellope." the other racers greeted back.

"You ready to go, Lucy?"

"Yes I am."

"Well let's go."

Before leaving, Lucy turned back to her subjects.

"Remember, no one leaves until I get back and give the okay."

Everyone understood her. And with that, the two girls left.

When they got outside of Sugar Rush Crunch, Lucy was amazed.

"OMG." she gasped.

There were so many different things.

"Pretty cool, isn't it?" Vanellope asked her.

"Yes it is."

"Come on, there's lots to see on the way to Slaughter Race."

As they walked to Slaughter Race, Lucy took in all the different sites.

"I'll have to check out some of these places on the way back." Lucy told herself.

Then they came to the entrance of Slaughter Race.

"Well here we are. My new home." Vanellope announced.

They went inside, and the second Lucy saw the scenery she wasn't very impressed. It felt like she had stepped into some kind of adult movie.

"Uh, interesting place." Lucy said slowly.

"Thanks, isn't it cool?"

"Well it's different."

To be honest, to Lucy this place was horrible. It smelled like gas and garbage, the view was less than nice, and the whole atmosphere just felt...weird.

"Come on, I'll introduce you to Shank and the others." Vanellope told her.

And she led her to the garage where the gang usually relaxed. When they got there, everyone was on break, and Vanellope introduced Lucy to them.

"Lucy meet Shank, Little Debbie, Butcher Boy, Felony, and Pyro." she introduced.

"Hello." Lucy told them.

"So, you're the Lucy that Van's been telling us about." said Shank.

"Yes I am, and also Vanellope, this place sucks." Lucy replied.

"You haven't even seen enough of it." Vanellope protested.

"Look at us, we weren't built for a game like this. Also the air is terrible here. And don't get me started on the players who come here. You don't have to show me them, I've met them a while back."

"You've been here before?" Pyro asked her.

"Once, few years back, not for very long. It's where I got my earrings." Lucy explained, as she showed off her silver hoop earrings.

"I thought you said you didn't have money to buy jewelry." mentioned Vanellope.

"I don't. But let's just say the other girl didn't need them."

"You robbed a dead player? That's harsh." replied Felony.

"I didn't go far then and I don't intend to go farther now. Vanellope, if you want to talk to me more, I'll be leaving this game and be, someplace nicer than this."

Lucy brushed some dirt off her jacket and left the building. Vanellope then ran towards her car.

"Maybe a drive around the game will show her how cool this place is." she suggested.

"It could work. But you best get to her, you're tough and can handle yourself out there. Her, I don't know." told Shank.

With Lucy, she was catching her breath as she attempted to run out of the game, only getting a block away from the garage.

"Such a horrid place, sewer sharks, wrecked cars. Why would she want to live in gangsters paradise?" Lucy wondered to herself.

Lucy heard the noise of an ice cream truck and turned to see one race next to her. From its window was a creepy looking clown.

"Hey there little buddy, I got some sweet treats inside, you like sweet treats?" the clown creepily asked.

Lucky for Lucy, Vanellope had driven up and shot a missile at the truck.

"Hey Jingles, I said stay out of our turf. Lucy, you're not gonna make it far on foot, hop in and I'll give you a ride." "Oh thank you, that clown was so creepy." said Lucy as she got in.

"I think he was gonna..."

"Oh no, he's not like that. He was just gonna harvest your organs."

"Wait what?" Lucy asked.

Vanellope didn't say anything further and sped off, but away from the game's exit. As they drove there, Vanellope looked at the sights of Slaughter Race. It could've been what Lucy said about the game, but Vanellope began seeing the game in a different way.

The scenery wasn't as interesting as she remembered it, she began to recognize the smells, and realized that Slaughter Race seemed to have lost its' charm.

After a while of driving they left the game.

"Sorry, Slaughter Race wasn't your kind of game, Lucy." Vanellope told her.

"It's okay. There's still lots of other stuff to see. I still can't believe you gave up living in Sugar Rush to live there." replied Lucy.

Vanellope got quiet. She thought about how much fun she'd been having in Sugar Rush Crunch, and how she was currently feeling about Slaughter Race. Suddenly, she was snapped out of her thoughts by Lucy's voice.

"Hey!"

"What what's wrong?"

"I think I just saw Kevin. Sorry Vanellope but I gotta deal with this."

And with that, Lucy went off into the Internet. Vanellope stood there a little confused, and then decided to pay a visit to a place she never thought she'd go back to.
