Hello lovelies! Here is the chapter that will take up the last spot on the chapters I already have up for this story. With this, I should have most of the groundwork put in place before we hop into the first movie of the MCU, Captain America:The First Avenger. I already have everything mapped out to how things are going to go in a timeline. However, that does nothing for my motivation to write more of this story. Right now I'm finishing the rest of Ms. Marvel before The Marvels comes out. This is what is getting me through the last part of this chapter. But I digress, I will try to get out more chapters so that I can get this story going. It has been killing me that I have not gotten this story out because I have had several daydreams about the story progressing to the movies through the timeline. So, with that, I will finish out this part of the Author's Note and get on with the quote then the actual chapter.

"A man is not wealthy because he has riches, but because he has valor."

For the next couple of days, Freyja saw patients from the clinic closest to her home and advised any other physicians that were stationed there should the need arise. There were also some trips to check on the plants that she was growing in order to make the more effective medicine that was the hallmark of her practice. The days passed by quickly until it was the day of Project Rebirth. Peggy was in charge of bringing Steve to the antique store front of the operation while Freyja waited just beyond the second entrance for him. As soon as the bookcase opened, Freyja donned a large smile on her red painted lips.

"Welcome Stevie," she smiled, holding her arms open wide for him.

"Freyja," Steve uttered in surprise while his own smile grew on his lips.

He eagerly reached out to hug his bonded and godmother and his body seemed to relax a little in her embrace. Freyja held him for a few moments then pulled back so they could get the procedure underway. When Freyja stepped back, she gestured for Peggy to lead the way in.

"It's always nice to see you Freyja," Peggy smiled at the red headed woman.

"Same to you Peggy."

The trio made their way through the double doors that led to the procedure room, but Freyja was the only one to continue down the stairs while Peggy and Steve stayed at the balcony to look down at the room. She went to Abe's side who looked over at her with slightly sad eyes.

"You are certain it is today?" he whispered so that no one else could hear him.

"Yes."

"Everything will be taken care of?"

"Yes."

"Good."

Abe brushed off the conversation only to turn to Steve who was approaching them.

"Good morning," Abe greeted Steve brightly.

"Good morning," Steve returned, shaking the hand that was offered to him.

One of the photographers had wanted to take a picture of the handshake, but Freyja was quick to push the camera down.

"There will be no pictures taken at this time," she told him with a sickly sweet smile.

One look at Freyja's smile was enough to send the man jogging up the stairs to leave. Satisfied that there was going to be no more interruptions, Freyja turned her attention back to Steve and Abe.

"Are you ready?" Abe asked Steve who was eyeing the capsule-like contraption to the side of him.

All Steve did was nod his head due to his nerves.

"Good," Abe said.

"Take off your shirt, your tie, and your hat."

Steve hesitated a bit at the request, which Freyja assumed was because of Peggy right next to him, but he ended up taking off his hat first. The hat was given to an assistant then he was loosening his tie to take that off as well. Once Steve was bare chested, Freyja directed him to lay down in the contraption Steve had been eyeing earlier.

"Comfortable?" Abe questioned from Steve's side.

"It's a little big," Steve admitted that earned a chuckle from Abe.

Freyja left the two to themselves as she stepped back a little.

"Mr. Stark, how are your levels?" Abe asked.

"Levels at 100%," Howard said while walking over.

"Good."

"We may dim half the lights in Brooklyn," Howards started.

"But we are ready as we'll ever be."

Peggy was instructed to go to the booth up the stairs, but Abe didn't even try to tell Freyja to leave. He knew that she would not leave, so there was no point wasting his breath.

"You'll do fine," Freyja assured her bonded while Abe started his speech to the sponsors.

That served to relax Steve a little as the paddles and everything was being secured onto him.

"And I'll be right here if you need me."

Steve toughed it out through the first shot and then the injection that was quickly followed by the machine coming to close around Steve. Through their bond, Steve was able to feel the comfort of Freyja's presence. Freyja herself took comfort to know that Steve was ok, even if she knew that the procedure was going to be a success. Abe checked in with Steve to make sure he was alright before he told Howard to proceed with the vita ray exposure. The level of exposure kept rising and rising without much of a reaction until Steve started screaming at seventy. Freyja's heart dropped a little at the sound and she stepped forward to be closer.

"Stevie! Are you alright?!"

"I'm fine!" Steve yelled out. "I can do this!"

Abe and Howard heeded his words and continued with exposure up to eighty percent. Freyja still worried for Steve's safety and hardly paid any attention to the excessive amount of sparking from the machines that happened around her. Slowly the machine powered down and she waited anxiously for it to open and release Steve. Abe called for Howard to open the machine and Freyja was a little surprised to see just how much growth Steve had just undergone. Freyja was the first person to step forward to help Steve out of the machine, easily supporting his whole weight on her shoulders.

"Stevie, you did it," Freyja congratulated her bonded.

"Yes, I did," Steve smiled weakly.

Abe and Howard tried to come forward to hold Steve to help Freyja, but she simply waved the both of them off stating that she was fine. This is going to be something to get used to, Freyja chuckled in her mind. Peggy was the next person to rush forward and ask how Steve was doing.

"How do you feel?"

"Taller."

Freyja gave a chuckle at his answer and shook her head. Of course that would be Steve's answer. Freyja helped Peggy put a shirt on Steve when an explosion caused a valley of broken glass to fall on everyone. Freyja knew what was to come, so she stayed crouching above Steve and Peggy to protect them from the glass. In the blink of an eye, Freyja heard the telltale shots that killed Abe. She screwed her eyes shut tight, but let Steve break from her to run to the fallen scientist. When Freyja saw Steve run after the assassin, she walked over to the body of her friend and kneeled beside him. She knew he was dead, but she reached to check for a pulse for the sake of everyone around her.

"He's dead," she announced to the crowd who were dismayed at the turn of events.

"His family wanted for his body to be sent back to them. I will see to the proceedings."

Freyja carefully placed a sheet over Abe's body and said a soft prayer in her native tongue before she stood.

"I'm sorry Freyja," Howard said as he walked over to her.

He placed a hand on her shoulder and she was thankful for the support. I should send his body to Magni so that he can start the funeral arrangements, Freyja thought to herself. I'll stay the day for Steve and then I'll get my affairs in order here then leave for Frœknland.

When Steve came back, Freyja escorted him to an examination room where they drew many vials of his blood.

"Think you got enough?" Steve asked that conveyed his sass.

"Any hope of reproducing the program is locked in your genetic code," Peggy explained to Steve.

"But without Dr. Erskine or Freyja's help, it would take years."

Steve quickly raised his eyes to Freyja.

"You're not helping to recreate it?"

"No one will have the sense Abe did in picking you," Freyja said.

"The government will not choose good men. They will choose a good soldier."

Steve was the only one in the room who understood Freyja's words and he felt very grateful and honored that he was chosen for this project. Freyja could feel his emotions through the bond and she gave a smile. The smile slowly fell when she realized that she had to leave soon. Steve felt the way Freyja's emotions fell, so he reflexively turned to place his hands on her shoulders.

"Freyja?"

"I'll have to get used to you being taller than me," Freyja tried to joke while looking up into familiar blue eyes.

"I'm still getting used to it," Steve chuckled.

Peggy watched this interaction between bonded and she thought back to the mark she had seen halfway on Steve's left hip that looked like the bird mark she had come to know as her own mark. Is he one of my bonded, Peggy thought to herself.

"I have to go," Freyja told Steve without much delay.

"You're not staying?"

"I have to take Abe back to his family."

Steve had been a little disheartened to learn that Freyja was going to leave when he needed her most, but he understood when she said that she had to leave to return Abe to his family. He deserved that at least.

"His family?"

"He is survived by his wife, two children, and six grandchildren."

Steve gave a small smile at the news. It was nice to know that he had a family.

"Give them my condolences."

"I will," Freyja smiled softly, placing a hand on one of his.

Steve gave a grateful smile at his bonded and he had to force himself to pull away from her.

"Will you write?" Steve asked her.

"Of course. You just have to look out for my raven."

"You're the only one I know who uses a raven to carry letters."

"I'm just that special," Freyja smirked.

Steve gave a laugh at Freyja's words as he couldn't agree more.

"Don't worry Stevie, you'll see me again in a couple months."

"You promise?"

"I promise. I'll even write letters."

Steve's smile grew wider at the promise and he made sure to give her one more hug before she turned to leave. Peggy watched the interaction between Freyja and Steve with a small warmth in her chest. It was nice to see such a strong bond between bonded people.

As soon as Freyja left the building, she turned towards an alleyway where no one could see her and opened a blue portal. She quickly stepped through the portal and it closed up right behind her. On the other end of the portal was a rather large office with picture windows that spanned half of the wall behind a big mahogany desk with a comfortable brown leather desk between the window and desk and three high backed leather chairs facing the window. To the left of the desk, facing the room from the door to the outside, sat a smaller desk and a wooden chair. On that same wall was a large white stone fireplace with a mahogany mantle that had two brown leather chairs facing it. On the wall to the right of the large desk sat two large bookshelves that were filled to the brim with books. Further down that wall was a door to a connected bathroom with a shower, tub, and toilet. In the middle of the room sat a large coffee table with two large brown leather couches and a large brown leather chair surrounding the table, leaving a spot empty to face the desk in front of the window.

"Your Majesty," a tall auburn haired man with green eyes greeted her from his spot beside the large desk.

"Magni," Freyja returned as she moved to sit on the desk.

"Status report."

"Everything has been arranged for Abraham's funeral to happen today. The portrait is ready and waiting to be placed in the hall. He has already been dressed in his funeral clothes, and his family has been keeping vigil until the festivities can begin."

"Excellent. What of my clothing?"

"Your handmaidens are ready and waiting."

"Well done. We will attend to the funeral tonight and we can tackle state affairs in the morning."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

Without Freyja having to give a signal, Magni left the office. Freyja gave a deep sigh now that she was alone and looked out the window behind her. It was only times like these that she actually felt her age. She knew that mingling with Midgardians was only courting sorrow when they passed, but she had come to accept it. She only gave herself a few minutes of looking out at the blue sky before she too left the office. She quickly made her way through the intricate walls of the palace to enter lavish apartments that were decorated in many different shades of purple and green. Ready and waiting at the entrance of the apartments were a team of four women of varying hair colors ranging from blonde to brown to red whose heads were bowed.

"We welcome you, Your Majesty," one of the handmaidens stepped forward without raising her head.

"Thank you Arna. Is my bath drawn?"

"Right this way."

Freyja followed behind who seemed to be the chief handmaiden with the others quickly falling in behind their queen. They all walked briskly through the hallways until they reached a large set of double doors who had celtic borders etched into the rosewood along with cats and falcons. The doors were pushed open by the head handmaiden with the others quickly rushing into the royal suite to go through the reception area and through the bedchamber to reach the bathroom inside.

"We have drawn a bath and prepared fresh daisies in the water," Arna told Freyja as she was led to the bathroom.

"Thank you Arna."

As soon as Freyja walked through the bathroom door, she began to remove her doctor's uniform she favored while working until she was naked. Then she removed the pins from her hair so that her long, auburn locks could tumble down to her hips in waves. When she walked into the small pool like bath, her handmaidens moved about quickly to gather the necessary oils and concoctions for Freyja's hair. A sigh left Freyja's lips once they started working on her hair and she let herself slip into mindfulness to relax her mind for a few moments before the funeral. To help their queen relax more, the handmaidens began to sing in Old Norse. Once Freyja's hair was washed and tended to, it was pinned to the top of her head so that Freyja could finish washing. The next few minutes was a whirlwind as Freyja was dried off and dressed in her royal attire that consisted of a base black dress with a couple more layers of black cloth over that which was heavily influenced from Asgardian fashion. Her hair was quick to be styled after that in an intricate weaving of braids that left Freyja's hair free from her face. Silver jewelry set with black stones was placed in Freyja's ears and throat while her hands were free of any rings. Satisfied with her appearance after she was shown in a mirror, Freyja stood from her chair and headed for the entrance to her suite.

"Where are Greta, Klaus, and Marlene?" Freyja asked Arna who was walking just a few steps behind her queen.

"They are waiting in the Crystal Reception Room," she answered easily.

"Is Abe ready with the pallbearers at the ready?"

"Yes, my queen. Klaus has even requested to take one of the spots of the six pallbearers."

"As is his right if he so wishes," Freyja confirmed with a nod of her head.

Arna said nothing else on the walk through the palace halls to get to the mentioned reception hall. When they had reached the doorway of the reception room, Freyja did not hesitate to throw open the door to see Abe's body resting on a transportable pyre dressed in white clothing the befitted royalty.

"Greta, Klaus, Marlene," Freyja greeted the three adults while six children of various ages stood to the side.

"Queen Freyja," Greta returned with a small, weary smile on her lips.

"There will be none of that Greta," Freyja insisted, shaking her head softly.

"You all are like family to me."

That only made the tears grow at the corners of the Erskine matriarch's eyes.

"Thank you."

"Everything is ready, Your Majesty," Magni said as he entered the room wearing his black mourning garb.

"Excellent."

That was then the drums and various musical instruments picked up a melody that echoed deep in ones heart and bones.

"Pallbearers, march on," Magni ordered the group who moved to stand on either side of Abe's movable pyre.

On his way to his place, Klaus reached up a hand to squeeze Freyja's shoulder. She in turn gave him a smile to show her support in their shared grief. The procession then began their march to the funeral spot. First went the pallbearers who carried Abe's body, then came Abe's family marching on behind them, and then came Freyja in her majestic glory bringing up the rear. Then came bards who sang sagas of Abe's deeds and the contributions that he had made in his lifetime. That alone brought smiles to the family left behind as well as Freyja. They all marched on for a few miles until the cliff that was set up for the procession and the celebration of life that was to take place throughout the night. Once the group had reached their destination, Abe's pre was set on the highest point of the cliff while the family was directed towards their spots of honor. While the rest of the procession was finding their seats at the provided tables, Freyja walked into the center space that would soon turn into a dance floor to be ready to address her people. When she saw that her people were seated, she held up her fist to cut the music and singing off immediately.

"People of Frœknland," Freyja began with a clear and strong voice.

"Today we have lost one of our own. A man who was one of the greatest minds of the century and a very noble soul. To me, he was like a brother and friend and soon his family became mine. Instead of lamenting over his death, I want to celebrate his life and know that he will be well taken care of in Hel where he will feast and drink to celebrate his life and successes!"

Answering whoops and hollers met her cry while the music and singing started back up again. From the looks of the Erskine family, Freyja could tell that they were a little taken aback at the way that Abe's death was celebrated, but they didn't seem to mind. With one movement of her hand the funeral pyre was lit. Freyja then took her seat amongst the family who welcomed her silent strength to them. The adults simply took in the music and songs about Abe while the children were very excited for Freyja to teach them the songs that were made for their grandfather.

"Why was grandfather lit on fire?" one of the children, one of the youngest girls named Hilda, asked while watching the flames dance in the night air.

When Freyja saw that some of the other children were also wondering the same thing, she gestured for them all to come closer so she could talk to all of them.

"He is being cremated," Freyja explained, pulling Hilda onto her lap.

"His body is being turned to ash so that the four parts of his soul can go on to the afterlife together."

"What are the four parts of the soul?" one of the older boys, named Erik, popped up next.

"There is the Hamr, the form, that is what the person looks like. Then there is the Hugr, the mind, that is the person's inner self. Then there is the Fylgja that gives the person direction to the afterlife. Then there is the Hamingja, which is the luck that can be granted to others for added strength of soul."

As Freyja told her tale, the children all looked at her with sparkling eyes and wonder. She had never had any children, and likely wouldn't in the future, so it was nice that she could pass on her culture to Abe's grandchildren. The rest of the night went by leisurely with much fasting along with dancing and singing until it was time to transfer Abe's ashes into a lovely, ornate urn and sealed with magic. Once that was finished, Freyja led just the Erskine family back to the palace so that they could place the urn in a small opening behind a portrait that was painted of the deceased so that everyone could remember his face in the Hall of Royalty. After the last part of the ceremony, Freyja had servants lead the family to guest rooms so that they did not have to make the trek back to their home. That marked the end of Freyja's day, so she retired to her chambers for the night sans her handmaidens so that she could have some time to herself and unwind for the day.

ooo0ooo

For the next two months, Freyja worked hard to catch up on paperwork that needed her attention. Most of it were treaties and requests from other countries. Granted, most of the correspondence was from Wakanda. It was mostly to keep up communication and to offer to install new vibranium technology when advancements came along. The other matters that needed her attention was the progress of her executive offices to see if the budgets needed to be changed or if they needed more resources for something. Luckily for Freyja, she had hired capable Asgardians and Midgaridans so there wasn't much that there wasn't much that Freyja needed to do. Normally this would make Freyja happy seeing as though she had led her people well so that she could go where she was needed when she was needed. However, for some reason, it didn't bring her as much joy. Nonetheless, she worked diligently through her official work and also wrote down some guidelines for future paperwork using her abilities from the Time Stone to look ahead about six months ahead so that the amount of work her second had to do was minimal. She even went so far as to write warnings out for things that were to happen in the future regarding the war with possible attacks on the border. After those warnings, she took it upon herself to visit the military to check on their progress. The normal military forces were progressing nicely. There were the main military, a couple of units that worked specifically on border patrol, the royal guard, and finally, a division of Valkyrie. Freyja had mourned that the way of the Valkyrie was gone, but had resolved to make her own Valkyrie guard for Frœknland who were to be the country's most elite fighting force with Freyja as their leader. These new Valkyrie were trained hard and instead of having winged mounts to ride on, Freyja tattooed their backs with magic ink so that they grew wings as strong as vibranium that ranged in color depending on the Valkyrie. I wish Kára could see them, Freyja thought to herself as she watched her sisters in arms training. Then, not long after the two month mark, Freyja was visited by a familiar man with black hair. That morning, Freyja was giving herself an extra hour to sleep in but it wasn't long after she had dozed off again that she was woken up with a kiss to her forehead.

"Good morning love," a silky voice filled her ears that brought a sleep grin to Freyja's face.

"Lok," she greeted him happily, sitting up so that she could wrap her arms around his shoulders.

"Mother and Thor have been wondering what has been taking you so long to come visit," he told her while returning her hug.

They embraced for a few more moments before Freyja sat back.

"Hmm, I had to bury one of my friends," Freyja said.

"Along with ruling Frœknland."

"Who was it? The friend you buried?"

"Abe."

"Ah, the mortal who made the serum?"

"Yes."

"Mortals certainly are fragile."

"I know," Freyja sighed sadly before looking into the green eyes of her lover.

"I was planning on heading back to Asgard for a couple of months before I have to be back on Midgard."

"Splendid," Loki grinned with a clap of his hands.

"But since you are here, I think I should prepare you more for your later role."

"You live as l do. Why would I need to be your successor?"

At Loki's question, Freyja took on a look that spoke of her knowledge of the future. Loki was able to catch onto her look as quickly as it appeared.

"Something is going to happen to you, isn't it?"

"Yes," Freyja admitted softly.

"But it will be my choice and it won't be until a few more decades."

Loki didn't look too convinced at Freyja's words and she could feel it through his bonded mark. She didn't feel like she had the words to comfort her bonded, so she said nothing and gave his hand a squeeze.

True to her words, Freyja made sure to educate Loki thoroughly on what would be expected of him as a king. They both knew that this was expected of a ruler, but they doubted Thor retained anything from his lessons. That only lasted about a week before the two prepared to depart for Asgard. Since there was no luggage for either of them, Freyja simply created a portal that had her normal silver eyes turning an intense blue that seemed to glow.

"After you," she insisted to her bonded while gesturing for him to go through.

"Such a gentlewoman," Loki remarked with a twinkle in his green eyes.

Nonetheless, he stepped through the portal with Freyja not far behind. When they came through, they appeared in Freyja's chambers in the Asgardian Royal Palace. Once the portal closed behind them, Freyja rushed into her walk-in closet to dress in her Asgardian clothing.

"Lok, should I pick a silver dress or should I go with a purple one?"

"We all know that purple is your color," Loki said as he walked into the closet after her.

Freyja could only laugh at his words before her hands reached to undo her royal Midgardian clothing.

"Let me," Loki insisted with his hands coming to rest on the fastenings of her dress.

"Hmm," Freyja hummed as her head turned to rub her nose against his.

"That sounds a little dangerous. What if we're late to greeting Mother and the All-Father?"

"We both know that you would enjoy it," Loki pointed out with a small smirk.

"You have a point," Freyja relented.

"But we both know that Thor would burst in my chambers if he found out I was back."

As if on cue, Freyja's double doors were thrown open to reveal a tall, muscular blond man with a large grin on his face.

"Freyja! I heard you came back!"

Freyja's silver eyes gave Loki a look as if to emphasize her point before she called out to the blond man.

"I'm in here Vinni!"

While Thor came to stand in the doorway of the closet, Freyja continued to undress. No one batted an eye as Freyja undressed until she was bare in full view of Thor and Loki. Loki instead reached for a purple dress from a rack that caught his eye. He then passed the dress over to Freyja who had donned a thin and breathable chemise like garment to go under her dress.

"How long are you staying this time?" Thor asked.

"A little over a month in Midgardian time."

"You sure are a busy woman," Thor commented, feeling a little put out that she was only there for a short time.

"You have no idea," Freyja smirked.

Loki said nothing as he knew at least some of what Freyja did on a daily basis that made her so busy. Cursed are the ones burdened with future sight, he thought to himself.

"Is Mother in the garden?" Loki asked Thor while helping Freyja with the last touches of her dress.

"No, she is in the Throne Room with Father."

"Would you tell her I am back and that I will be there shortly?" Freyja requested.

"I just have to finish getting ready."

"Of course!" Thor boomed with a large grin.

Before Loki or Freyja could say anything else, Thor was out of Freyja's chambers like a whirlwind.

"Thor certainly has a lot of energy," Freyja said after the door had shut.

Loki only hummed in agreement as the two ventured back into Freyja's bedroom so that she could finish getting ready. Instead of Freyja picking up her brush to style her own hair, Loki picked up the brush and started doing it for her. He made sure to brush carefully through her auburn locks before he began to intricately braid her hair back from her face and down her back until the end of the braid stopped at the middle of her back. The last touch was her putting on some touches of makeup and a spritz of perfume before she stood from her seat.

"How do I look?" Freyja asked Loki as she gave a twirl.

"Like a goddess," Loki smirked.

Freyja rolled her eyes but an unconscious smile grew on her lips.

Loki offered his arm to her and she readily placed her hand on his offered forearm.

"Always the gentleman," Freyja said with a quirk of her lips.

"Sif would disagree," Loki pointed out with his signature smirk.

Freyja chuckled softly at his words as they both set out for the Throne Room to pay both Odin and Frigga a visit.

"Freyja!" Frigga exclaimed when she saw her daughter walk into the room with Loki by her side.

"Hello Mother," Freyja said with a wide smile as she held her arms out to return the offered hug.

"How long are you staying this time?" Frigga asked, pulling back a little to look into Freyja's face.

"Two Midgardian months at the most. Then I'll have to head back."

"It always seems like you're running out of time," Odin spoke up.

"With all the traveling you do."

If you only knew, Freyja thought to herself. No one said a word as they let the moment pass.

"Thor has been wanting to see you," Frigga told Freyja.

"He should be at the training grounds."

"What, he wants to lose again?" Freja smirked.

Loki and Freyja shared an amused look as they remembered the last time Freyja and Thor had spared.

"Would you like to have tea later in the garden?" Freyja asked Frigga.

"Of course, dear."

Freyja gave Frigga one more hug before she turned and left the throne room. Loki too gave Frigga a hug then followed behind Freyja to the palace training grounds. When they arrived, they saw that Thor was laughing with The Warrior's three and Lady Sif. An involuntary smile grew on Freyja's lips as memories of previous fights and quests she had completed with the group.

"Mother told me you wanted to see me," Freyja said when she reached the group.

"That I did," Thor confirmed with a mighty boom and a wide smile.

"I wish to spar with you again."

This only served to amuse their friends with the way their mouths quirked up.

"Are you sure?" Fandral asked his friend.

"The last time you spared, she bested you before the five minute mark," Volstagg added.

"I say let him do it," Lady Sif said with a point of her chin.

"Maybe this will teach him a lesson," Hogun said.

Loki couldn't hold back the little chuckle that escaped at all of their friends ganging up on his golden brother.

"Oh ye of little faith," Thor chuckled.

"Alright," Freyja relented. "I'll accept your challenge."

Everyone else backed away to give the two space while a ripple of purple energy flowed down Freyja's body to leave her in her combat outfit sans her helmet. She gracefully rolled her shoulders to loosen her muscles before she looked at Thor with her silver eyes showing hints of brilliant amethyst.

"No using your powers," Thor smirked when he caught sight of the slight color change.

"I do not need them to best you."

And like that Thor launched himself at Freyja with a punch that she expertly blocked only to aim a kick at his side. Thor blocked that with practiced ease and the two continued on what seemed to be a calculated dance of punches, block, kicks, and parries. Towards the end of the fight, Thor launched Freyja into the air. Before Freyja could even start to fall to the ground, she uttered one word.

"Flug(Flight)."

A set of large wings burst from Freja's back that had an impressive wingspan that went from a very dark gray from the wrist of her wings that made a gradient to white to her secondary feathers.

"I think throwing people should count as cheating too," Freyja pointed out as she used her wings to safely descend to the ground.

Meanwhile everyone else was looking at her in awe of the new ability. Loki was the first to get over his shock and walk forward.

"Is this the new rune you were perfecting?" Loki asked while he watched Freyja's wings disappear into her back.

"Yes," Freyja grinned in excitement.

Freyja wanted to share more information with Loki, but the others butted in before she had the chance.

"That was incredible!" Fandral exclaimed.

"You looked like a Valkyrie!" Sif chimed in.

"That is the idea Sif," Freyja told her.

"That was brilliant!" Thor boomed.

Any thoughts of dueling left everyone's mind as they crowded around Freyja to get answers about her wings.

I know that the ending of this chapter was not the greatest, but I needed to get it finished. I have just started working on the next chapter so I will hopefully have some motivation to get on with the story. I have big plans from here on out and I hope everyone else is as excited as I am to get to know Freyja's story. If you have any questions or want to leave a comment, feel free to leave a review or to shoot me a pm. Remember, reviews are magic!
