It didn't open the door to get in. It didn't need to. It just slipped through the crack.
The ghostly, thin figure was looking for prey. The Organization had given it orders: to search for that wizard, Merlin, and get him out of the way, for he was an obstacle to their plans, filling Sora's mind with inconvenient ideas. But the dusk was a being with its own instincts and they drove it to look for something (someone) to consume. Also, Merlin was not in the secret cave in Traverse Town anymore. It found an empty room. Only a few items had been left behind. News about his depart apparently hadn't reached Xemnas—but he would soon be informed of this. In the meantime, it could get something to satisfy its appetite.
It turned around to roam the Districts, in search of those who still retained their heart and appearances. Perhaps some of the higher-rank nobodies were bothered by it but this insignificant dusk did not have the mind developed enough to hold such regrets. It was a monster of little brain. But it stopped and turned around once again.
Forgotten in a corner, there was a book.
The dusk slid towards it and contemplated it. It wasn't edible. However, there was something about it which attracted its whole attention.
There was a certain power coming from this book...Would its masters want it? The dusk thought of grabbing it and taking it to the castle. It didn't do it, in the end. It just kept on staring. For the first time in...forever..., a feeling had shaken it to the core.
There were creatures drawn in the cover. A boy with baggy, short pants (The keyblade bearer!), a tiny pig, a tiger bouncing on his tail, and a...
Its tentacle caressed the figure of the yellow bear who was holding Sora's hand.
There were three words written on it. Surprisingly enough, the dusk could still read. Or perhaps it knew what those meant without needing to.
Winnie the Pooh.
Pooh...!
There was a sound, and it wasn't able to react on time before it burst.
Merlin, staff in hand, let out a grunt. "Those creatures again! They keep coming and coming!"
He walked towards the book and picked it up. Oh, good that it had suffered no harm! First the heartless, now those damned nobodies! This book was surely special! Too bad he didn't have enough time with Hollow Bastion's reconstruction and all the monsters out there to carefully examine it! He would have to put it in a safe place in the meantime. And himself, too. It seemed Sora hadn't been able to fully stop evil and it kept coming and coming...
