For day 1 of "Gochi Spring Fling" on Twitter - Picnic
Goku stared down at the picnic blanket, his belly pretty full, his body relaxed as Chichi talked about all the different parts of Mount Paozu that she wanted to see. She had gotten herself a map, though it wasn't a very detailed map, he thought, but it still showed the whole of Mount Paozu. Goku knew every part of the place, he had lived there long enough to know. So, he could show her whatever she wanted to see, if that's what she wanted. She said they would go exploring after they got married, which was only a week away.
Married. He was getting married.
He had to ask Krillin what marriage meant. It didn't mean what he thought it did. But, he had made a promise to her when they were kids, and he didn't like to break his promises. He liked the idea of marrying her - they would live together, spar together, sleep and eat together. It was like everything he did with his Grandpa. And he missed it. Having someone around like that again excited him.
He had heard of the term 'butterflies in your stomach' but he hadn't really understood what it was until now. Sure, he'd gotten excited many times over a fight, even a bit nervous on occasion, like his fight with Piccolo. But it didn't feel like this. This was different. She made him feel different. And he couldn't explain it - she excited him, she scared him, she made him smile and laugh, she made him nervous, she made his heart beat so hard and so loud in his chest, he thought it might explode. She made him feel at ease, he felt like he could talk to her about things. And she didn't make him feel stupid when he didn't know something. She would correct him and educate him, but never made him feel like an idiot. No one had ever done that before.
He liked having butterflies in his stomach. He liked how she made him feel.
He liked how strong she was, and how confident she was in her skills as a fighter. He was out of her league, but he really enjoyed fighting with her. It gave him a unfamiliar thrill when they fought together, he liked showing off and dodging all her attacks, but he also liked to let her get him every now again and the proud smile she would give him when she did. And he was always careful with her, even when she said not to hold back and not to take it easy on her. He couldn't help it. He had to hold back. He didn't want to hurt her, not even a little bit.
Krillin and Yamcha had told him Chichi was a beautiful woman and 'hot'. He didn't understand how she was hot. She wasn't sweating and she wasn't on fire. But the beautiful thing? Was Chichi beautiful? Bulma always referred to herself as beautiful, so he had heard of such a thing before. He'd been all over the world and he had seen many 'beautiful' things before, such as mountains, waterfalls and sunsets. But a girl being beautiful? He'd never thought about that before.
He decided to look at her ... really look at her.
Her eyes were big and midnight black, and they sparkled under the sunlight. Her long eyelashes fluttered lightly as she happily talked about Mount Paozu, her rosy cheeks standing out against her porcelain skin, her cute little nose scrunching up as she continued talking, but Goku had no idea what she was saying. He was completely oblivious to anything that came out of her mouth as he continued to study her face. His eyes dropped to her lips ... they were soft, pink and supple. Oh, he knew how soft they were. She had kissed him with them on his cheek a few times, but very recently she had kissed him on his lips.
He swallowed as he remembered how it felt. It felt strange at first ... no one had ever done that to him before. He wanted to pull away from her but at the same time he couldn't bring himself to move. And he didn't understand it. He'd seen other people kiss before, but he was too young to know what that was or even care about it. When she pressed her lips onto his, it was like a bolt of lightening shooting up his spine. His heart pounded in his chest and he stopped breathing, his eyes wide with shock. It was only for a few seconds, yet it had the most crazy effect on him. She set off so many different emotions in him, that he couldn't describe any of it.
He watched as she smiled, her eyes still on the map laid out on their picnic blanket. She was so excited to explore his home with him, and he couldn't help but smile at her. She combed some of her hair back behind her ear, his eyes then shifting to the long, dark locks that was sprawled over her shoulders and down her back. She had let it hang loose today, instead of putting it in a ponytail like she normally did. Her hair was shiny and it looked like it was really soft. He wondered if it felt really soft too.
Hey eyes suddenly met his, her smile fading when she caught him staring, a bashful look on her face, a little blush rising on her cheeks. She stared back at him, both unsure on what to say or do next, their faces only a few inches apart. Their gaze was intense and it had heat rushing to his face, a sweat droplet forming at the side of his head, his heart pounding even harder and faster than before. He felt this gravitational pull towards her as his eyes darted between her eyes and her lips, and he went with it, his head leaning closer to hers, his breath hitching in his throat.
Chichi held her breath, his eyes meeting hers once more. The world stopped and the only thing between them was the anticipation of his lips on hers. And when he finally pressed his lips gently against hers, everything became a blur, everything went silent, and all she could feel was him.
She closed her eyes and she thought she was flying. She thought she was soaring through the clouds, the gentle breeze kissing her face, the sun warming her skin. His lips lingered on hers, his mouth moving slowly with hers, clumsily yet perfectly all at the same time. Her one shaky hand found his cheek and her soft fingers caressed his surprising soft skin, and she swore that not a single force on Earth could stop the trembling of her hand. She didn't know what Heaven was like, but this had to be it. It had to be Heaven with the way he was kissing her. It had to be Heaven because he initiated it first!
Kami, he didn't know what this feeling he felt was, but it was taking hold of him in a way that he couldn't escape. Not that he wanted to escape, it was quite the opposite. But he was stumbling into unfamiliar territory. And that made him feel all sorts of things. He could feel the warmth of her skin radiating off of her like the flames of a raging fire, he could taste the sweetness of her lips, he could smell her intoxicating scent, a smell of freshness and flowers.
His lips suddenly parted from hers, his warm breath grazing her tingling lips as he remained close to her. It was like they both needed a moment to compose themselves and come back to reality, silence still lingering in the air. He pulled his head back further so that he could look at her again, her eyes shining and her eyelashes fluttering again, in a way that he really liked.
He decided her eyes were beautiful. The most beautiful eyes he had ever seen, the kind of eyes you could get lost in.
And he kinda did.
He decided she was beautiful. She just had to be. It was just her.
He wondered if she knew she was beautiful.
He couldn't wait to tell her.
