For the Son Family Week's "Summer Fun" day on Twitter :3
The prompt I have chosen is "Star Gazing"
Goku blinked, his eyes gazing upwards as he lay amongst the lush, green grass of the hills, the stars twinkling like scattered moondust in the sky. He felt the cool breeze of the evening caress his face, his wild, raven hair fluttering gently against the wind.
He hadn't really watched the stars before, at least, not like this. With someone. With his wife. He turned his head to his left slightly, his bright eyes catching a glimpse of his wife as she smiled up at the midnight sky. Chichi had told him it was romantic to watch the stars together, and she was thrilled to lay there with him as the sun started to fade in the distance. Goku didn't know what being romantic meant, but it was part of being married, and Chichi seemed so happy about it, so he went along with it.
Chichi had told him they were on their honeymoon. After getting married, they flew back to Mount Paozu, where they spent their first night together as a married couple. And what a night that was. He had no idea that people did that sort of thing, and it excited him to learn that he could do that whenever he wanted with his new wife. After that night together, Chichi told him they were on their honeymoon, and she wanted to explore Mount Paozu with him.
Goku questioned what a honeymoon was, thinking maybe it had something to do with the moon. But, Chichi explained that when two people got married, they celebrated this by going somewhere, or doing something together, during their first week or so of marriage. Goku shrugged, he was easy either way. But, exploring his home with Chichi sounded like a lot of fun. No one had ever wanted to explore his home with him before, not any of his friends, so this made Goku happy. So, there they were, camping on their honeymoon, laying upon the soft grass, their tent just up from them, their log fire slowly burning out beside them.
Goku found himself star gazing once again, his mouth gaped open slightly as the stars winked at him from the endless black night sky. He felt at peace, his mind and body relaxed, his eyes not looking at one star, yet somehow seeing them all at once.
"Look, Goku!" Chichi suddenly squealed excitedly, "It's a bunny!"
"Huh?" Goku uttered out. A bunny? In the sky?
"By there, look! In the stars! It looks like a bunny rabbit!" Chichi exclaimed.
Goku looked to where Chichi was pointing in the sky and he tilted his head to the side to try and figure it out.
And there it was, he could see it, a bunny rabbit in the stars. He smiled when he saw it.
"Hey, I can see it! Wow, Chichi, I didn' know you could see animals in the stars" Goku told her. Chichi giggled and Goku watched curiously as she started to move her index finger around in the air.
"Whatcha doin'?" he asked her, his eyes full of wonder.
"I'm drawing the bunny rabbit" she cooed, her eyes focused on the stars above her as she drew across the ashen night sky with her invisible pencil. Goku watched her draw, engrossed in the moment, the bunny rabbit becoming more clear the longer he looked at it. He swore he could even see a fluffy tail now.
"So, ya just gotta look up an' you can see animals?" Goku wondered out loud, his eyes scanning over the stars on his side now.
"Pretty much. Just keep looking and use your imagination, and you will find something" she encouraged him. Goku concentrated long and hard as he searched the stars for an animal. But, he couldn't find anything. And the longer and harder he looked, the more frustrated he became. How come Chichi could find an animal, but he couldn't?
"Aw, man, I can't see anythin', Chichi" he sulked. Chichi couldn't help but chuckle at his pouty little face. His sweet innocence was endearing. She was never going to get tired of that.
"Hmm, maybe I can help" she thought, her eyes studying his side of the sky. Chichi scooted closer to him as they both searched the stars together, a comfortable silence taking over them, a determination growing in Goku's stomach. He had to find something! He wasn't going to sleep until he found one! Just one! And then he would be satisfied.
Goku's eyebrows were knitted together, his lips pursed, as he concentrated hard on the dark, soft blanket of sky above. Chichi wanted to laugh at his serious face, but she didn't want to deter him. She had faith he would find something. All of a sudden Goku gasped dramatically, startling Chichi, so much that she clutched at her chest where her heart beat frantically.
"Goku? What is it?" Chichi queried in surprise, her eyes on her husband.
"Look, Chichi! Up there! I found somethin'!" Goku practically shouted, pointing up at the sky. Chichi's eyes followed his, her focus on where he was now pointing at.
"What can you see?" she asked him, wondering if it was the same thing she could see.
"It looks like a dragon! See!" he pointed out avidly, a big smile on his face, "there's his pointy ears, his big sharp teeth, his wings an' pointed tail! An' that looks like fire comin' from his mouth!"
Chichi was in awe at his sudden enthusiasm, a proud smile spreading across her face.
"See? I knew you could do it" she told him sweetly, turning her head to look at him. Goku turned to face her and grinned, that boyish charm of his causing her heart to pound in her chest. She watched as Goku copied her earlier actions, his finger pointing to the inky sky as he drew the outline of the dragon with his fingertip.
"There" he announced a few moments later, "I drew him" he spoke so proudly. Chichi laughed gently against his shoulder, her warm breath grazing the bare skin of his arm. Goku felt goosebumps spread up his body from her soft breath, his face flushed up and a funny feeling bounced around in his stomach. Just what was that? It happened a few times when she was close to him, and he just didn't understand it. It was almost like he was nervous, but it felt nice.
"Y'know ... if anything ever happens, and somehow we are far apart, just remember to look up at the stars, and know I am looking up at them, too" she told him softly, letting her forehead rest against his upper arm.
"That way, we won't feel so lonely anymore, because we'll both know we are laying there, looking up at the stars together" she finished. Goku felt his eyes linger on the stars above him for a few more moments as he took in her words. He then slowly leant his head down to look at her, as she rested against his arm. He felt himself staring at her, observing her, as her eyes glanced around at the sky above.
Her long eyelashes fluttered, and her soft, loose, dark hair blew gently with the soft breeze. He observed her lips as they curled up at the one end, a small smile etching across her face. He noticed the few dark brown freckles on her cheeks, the warm flames of the small fire beside them glowing against her soft porcelain skin. He felt his breath catch in his throat as she caught his intense gaze. He felt his face heat up as their eyes connected, a small blush staining her cheeks, too, her deep, dark, glistening eyes completely consuming him, in a way he'd never experienced before.
His eyes drifted down to her soft, pink petalled lips, his desire to touch them and taste them with his own, suddenly very overwhelming. He'd kissed her many times since getting married, in fact, he'd kissed a whole lot of her with his lips, but he felt an unexplainable urge to kiss her right now.
Chichi could barely control her breathing as her handsome husband gazed at her. Her husband, her Goku, her diamond in the rough. Well, her Goku was a diamond, and the rest of the world could be as rough as it desired, but it could never effect him, it could never dim his beautiful light. She let her shaky fingers reach out to touch his, her fingertips softy caressing the back of his hand, their gaze never faltering. She felt his arm move slightly against her cheek, as he turned his hand against the grass, his fingers meeting hers and gently interlinking with hers.
"I don' think I could ever feel alone, now, Chichi" he barely whispered to her, as they held hands upon the smooth grass.
Chichi held her breath as Goku leaned into her, her eyes becoming heavy, as his lips brushed against hers, softly, delicately, like butterfly wings. Goku moaned lightly against her lips, the kiss just long enough that he could inhale her breath, feel the warmth of her skin, and taste the sweetness that was her. As he slowly parted his lips from hers, she kept her eyes closed, his slightly laboured breath tickling her already tingling lips, his nose gently nudging hers.
Her heart was a ticking time bomb in her chest as he continued to nuzzle her nose with his, their entwined fingers playing, touching and caressing. His large thumb swept over her dainty one in a gentle caress as he pulled his head back slightly so he could look at her. He couldn't stop the smile that graced his face, his wife giving him one in return.
"I like watchin' the stars with you, Chichi" he whispered to her. Chichi hummed gently against his arm, before snuggling up against him.
"Mmm, I like watching them with you, too" she quietly spoke. Goku pulled her against him properly, wrapping his large arm around her and holding her against his chest. He let his eyes wander back to the sparkling night sky, that smile never leaving his face.
He still didn't quite understand this whole marriage thing, but he was sure looking forward to experiencing it with Chichi.
:)
