It was midnight, and neither Bluestar nor Spottedleaf were asleep. They were standing in front of the medicine cat den discussing recent events within the clans when a sudden burst of flame erupted before them, tracing a path along the ground and accompanied by a young fawn running beside it. As the fire and the fawn disappeared into the darkness, Bluestar turned to her friend in surprise. "What was that?" she asked in alarm. "An omen," Spottedleaf responded. "Fire and Fawn will work Together to protect the clans from unseen dangers."

——————————————

"There are four clans in the forest: Windclan, the fastest, Riverclan, the prettiest, Thunderclan, the bravest, and Shadowclan, the stealthiest. While they are all from different clans, they share the same code and respect each other, even during battles. They live wild and free lives that would scare even the bravest kittypets; they live totally different lives that I myself could never see myself living, but admire from afar….."

"I wanna live in a clan, Jake, Jake how do I join a clan! I really like Windclan and ThunderClan, they sound so cool!" Rusty meowed excitedly, "I really like Thunderclan" Princess would pipe in a bit calmer than her flame-colored brother but still just as excited. Jake purred in amusement "I'm sure if you guys were born into a clan you would've been great warriors"

Another kit, Tommy scoffed. "If it existed, that is. The clans don't exist; only bone-eating rogues live in the forest." Rusty stood up, causing Princess's paws to fall off his head and back onto the cat bed. "The clans do too exist, Tommy!" The kit squeaked. "Do not!" "Do too!" "Do not!" "Do-" a tortie she-cat put her tail in between the two bickering kits. "Now now, you two, quit your bickering," the she-cat purred in amusement.

"He started it!" Rusty meowed. "Well, I'm ending it," the she-cat mewed. The she sighed and looked up at Jake. "Were you telling them about the clans again, dear?" The she-cat purred. "Of course I did; it's the kits' favorite." The tom purred. The she sighed, shaking her head. "Still can't get over your rogue friend, can you?" Jake sighed. "He wasn't a rogue; he was a WindClan cat named Talltail."

Nutmeg chuckled, not at all convinced. "Okay, dear," she said as she stood up to stretch and walk away to eat. Jake shook his head and looked down at his kits. "She'll never believe me, will she?" he asked with a laugh. "Nope!" A chocolate tortoiseshell she-kit, Luna giggled. A sorrel-colored tom, Filou piped up. "If the clans do exist, i don't think i'd like to join one they seem- to fighty for me" Filou shivered. "That life is - not for me," he'd shiver at the thought.

"Well, I would love to live in one! ThunderClan sounds so cool!" Rusty mewed. "Ya, I agree," Princess mewed. "Oh! Anyone wanna play Thunderclan, like how ThunderClan is in Jake's stories?" Princess asked. "I'm good," Tommy said. "Why not?" Luna mewed. "No, thank you," Filou squeaked. "I'm in!" Rusty yipped. "Okay! I'll be the leader, Fawnstar! Rusty, you'll be my deputy, Rustclaw, and Luna, you can be a warrior! Moonlily!" Princess exclaimed excitedly.

"You three be safe and stay in that garden," Jake said. "Okay, Jake!" the three kits replied in unison as they skittered out of the house and into the backyard. "This will be the meeting rock," Princess announced, pointing to a rock about the size of a full-grown cat. "This will be the Warrior's Den," she skipped over to a large patch of grass surrounded by rocks. "And this will be the Leader's Den!" she exclaimed, pointing to a flower bed next to the Warrior's Den. "Okay!" Rusty meowed.

Okay! Let's play now," Princess said excitedly. As they played, they pretended that a fox attacked their camp, but they easily won; Luna pretended to have kits using toy mice, and Rusty pretended to fight a ShadowClan cat using a leaf! After they were done playing, Rusty had an idea. "Princess, Luna, do you think we can go into the forest and see if everything Jake said was true?" he asked his two sisters. "I don't know, Jake said to stay in the garden" Luna replied with uncertainty.

"Well, it doesn't hurt to look, does it?" Rusty mewed. Princess's ear perked up and she looked over at her brother. "Ya! We'll be back before they knew it" Princess exclaimed excitedly. Luna giggled at her sister's excitement. "You guys can go; I'll stay so I can tell Jake and Nutmeg if they ask that went into the forest to find the clans." Luna mewed with a shuffle of her paws. Rusty's ears perked up in excitement. "Okay!" Rusty mewed excitedly as he climbed up the fence and jumped onto the other side with Princess following closely behind.

They ventured into the forest with curiosity and wonder. The sounds they heard and the prey that skittered past them from the sound of their collars. It was freeing and they both loved it. "Princess," Rusty squealed, so very excited and in awe of everything around him. "Princess! This place is beautiful!" Rusty exclaimed, his excitement palpable. Princess was in a similar state, but she was so overwhelmed by her emotions that she couldn't find words other than a quick sound of acknowledgement.

When they spotted a gray-brown tom approaching them. They looked at one another and Princess says, "Do you think he's a clan cat?" Rusty looked over at the tom again and replied, "Maybe, let's wait and see." The tom stopped in front of the two kits, looking at them with a concerned expression on his face.

"What are you two doing here all alone?" He asked with a soft, kind, concerned voice. Rusty's ears perked at the question. "We were going to see if what our dad said about the forest was true!" Rusty mewed. The tom tilted his head. "And what did he say about the forest?" The tom asked softly. Rusty looked over to her sister and looked back to the tom. "That there are clans in this forest!" Rusty chirped.

"Our dad had a friend named Talltail who was supposedly in the clans, and he learned about them from him!" Princess piped in. "Is that so?" The tom purred. "Yep!" Princess squeaked, and the tom chuckled. "Well, your father's stories are true; there are indeed clans in this forest." Rusty would gasp, looking over at his sister. "YES! I KNEW IT!" The kit exclaimed excitedly as his sister jittered in excitement.

Thrushpelt chuckled "It's nice to meet you two as well, but as much as I'd like to take you back to your home as soon as possible, the journey back for such young kits like you would be too tiring. You two can stay in ThunderClan for tonight, and I can take you back home tomorrow." The tom purred. "Come on, little ones," he meowed. Rusty and Princess paused looking at each other with uncertainty "Uh, we weren't supposed to leave our garden, we thought we could get back home after exploring the forest for a little bit" Princess meowed in slight embarrassment.

Thrushpelt sighed "You kits should've stayed in you garden them, you are way too young to be traveling to and back to the Kittypet place" the two kits physically drooped "Well- Ok, we'll go home tomorrow then" Princess replied a bit down cast as they started to follow Thrushpelt to ThunderClan.

But when the two kits arived to ThunderClan, the two kits' eyes were filled with wonder. "Woah, This place looks so much better than I imagined.." Princess meowed in awe. "It's so cool!" Rusty mewed excitedly. When they got into camp, they received some strange stares, but Thrushpelt led them to the leader's den, where a blue-gray she-cat awaited them.

"Bluestar, I found these two Kittypet kits exploring our territory while I was hunting, and I hoped you would allow them to stay for the night, as the journey back will be tiring for such young kits, especially since they have already traveled so far into our territory." Thrushpelt explained. Bluestar looked at the two kits and gave a quick nod. "Yes they may stay just Keep them here for right now " she meowed

Thrushpelt nodded. "Alright, kits. Stay here with Bluestar. I'll take you back home tomorrow morning." The tom purred as he exited the leader's den leaving the two kits with the leader of ThunderClan. "Hello, Bluestar my name is Princess and this is my brother Rusty! It's really nice to meet you!" The she-kit chirped with her brother nodding in agreement. Bluestar purred "It is a pleasure to you two as well, please stay here while I get Spottedleaf." Rusty tilted his head "Why are you getting another cat?" he asked with confusion clear in his voice. "I need to ask her for some advice as she is my Medicine cat and I'd like some input on a decision I'm planing to make" Bluestar explained as she walked out of her den, coming back a few minutes later with a pretty tortoiseshell she-cat.

"These are the two kits you spoke of, Bluestar?" Spottedleaf asked. Bluestar nodded. "Yes, these are the two," she replied. "What are you guys talking about?" Rusty asked in confusion. "Me and Spottedleaf have decided to invite you two to join ThunderClan," she meowed. Both kits looked at Bluestar in shock. "Wait—you want us to join?!" Rusty mewed excitedly. "But—what about our family?" Princess piped in with a conflicted look on her face. "I have already asked Thrushpelt to inform your kittypet family that you will be staying here if you decide to stay," Bluestar said.

The two kits looked at one another and both quietly agreed before Rusty looked to Bluestar and purred "Yes we'd love to join!" he squeaked as his paws shuffled up and down in excitement. "Alright then follow me you two" the she purred as she trotted back of her den, as the kits rushed out of the den following behind Bluestar Spottedleaf moved out of the way with an amused purred "Careful little ones!" She meowed as she walked out of the den and took her spot next to the medicine cat den to watch the new arrivals ceremony, the kits meowed a quick sorry as they took their spots in front of the highrock looking up at Bluestar already sitting at the top of the rock "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the highrock for a clan meeting" Bluestar called out to the clan, once everyone settled down Bluestar continued

"I have decided to invite these two kittypet kits to join the Clan." Bluestar meowed "Why in StarClan's name are you allowing kittypets into ThunderClan? The other clans are going to laugh at us!" A tom hissed. Standing up with his tail flicking in anger "Longpaw! It is not your job to make choices for the Clan; you are an apprentice, so sit down and let Bluestar speak!" Thrushpelt rebuked the young tom. Longpaw huffed, reluctantly sitting back down.

"Thank you, Thrushpelt," Bluestar meowed. The tom bowed his head respectfully before his gaze refocused on the two kits. "What about their collars? They'd never be good warriors with those bells scaring away all the prey!" One of the elders, a tom with a black and white pelt, spoke up. "Oh these things?" Princess meowed, pawing at her collar, "they're really easy to break off, I used to do it all the time at my Twoleg den" she chirped as she pushed her paw into her collar, breaking it off before grabbing Rusty and doing the same thing to his collar. "Tadaaa!" The she-kit giggled.

"They both were able to take off their collars with ease, which can only mean StarClan approves the choice that I have made. Princess and Rusty, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and when the time comes protect and defend your clan, even at the cost of your life?"

"I do" the kits meowed in confidence. "Then until you reach the age of six moons, Rusty your name shall be Firekit for you fire-colored pelt and Princess your name shall be Fawnkit for your fawn-colored pelt, we welcome you both to ThunderClan as clanmates, Goldenflower do you think you can care for these two until they are ready to be apprenticed?" the she-cat raised her head to look at Bluestar then looked down at the two kits she'd been asked to watch. "Of course" she purred as she walked over and curled her tail around the two. "Come on you two let's go get settled in the nursery" Goldenflower purred, as she walked to the nursery the kits following right beside her.

When they got to the nursery they noticed the other kits looking at them from the middle of the den, two of which ran over to them "Goldenflower!" A tortoiseshell she-kit and a black-and-white tom kit both meowed in excitement nuzzling into the she-cat with a purr "Hello Lynxkit, Swiftkit" Goldenflower purred. "These two are Firekit and Fawnkit. They will be staying with us from now on" she explained, the two kits looked at the two newcomers and looked back up at Goldenflower "They look like both a fox and a cat at once" one of the other kits, Sandkit meowed. Before Swiftkit or Lynxkit could get a word out.

"Our mother tells us it's because we're Somalis" Fawnkit chirps, "What's a somali?" Another kit, Graykit asks, Fawnkit pauses "uhh, I'm a purebred somali kinda like how you're a purebred ThunderClan cat, we all look fox-like, and most of us have an adventurous personality and green or yellow eyes!" The other kits nods "oh ok, that makes sense I guess" Graykit meows, Fawnkit purrs "mhm!". Firekit trotted closer to the other kits

"What are all your names? It'd be weird not to know them cus we will be clanmates from now on" he said somewhat awkwardly, "I'm Graykit!" A gray tom kit chirped, "Dustkit" a brown tabby kit responded curtly, "I'm R-ravenkit" a mostly black tom-kit mewed nervously, "And i'm Sandkit" a pale ginger she-kit in confidence. Swiftkit trotted up to Firekit bumping into him with a purr "And of course Me, Swiftkit and my littermate, Lynxkit, that's all of us for now, Frostfur joined the nursery really early so her kits won't be born until newleaf!"

Goldenflower softly tittered before calling to her kits "Alright kits I think it about time to head to your nests for bed" as the other Queens started to call their kits to bed as well, Lynxkit whined "Awe but I wanted to play a little longer" Goldenflower purred "i know, how about this, i'll tell you stories about the ancients until you fall asleep, how's that sound" the four kits under Goldenflower's care perked up "Yes please!" All four of them came sprinting into the nest.

Once the four got settled and comfortable, Goldenflower started her story "Back before any of our times there were 3 clans…."
