-Wynter-

She stood at the front line, ready to defend with the ones that stood by her side through thick and thin. And she knew with them by her side nothing could stand in their way. She tilted her head up to take in a deep breath before being mesmerized by the blue-green sky above, spotted with clouds and various races of sky creatures.

With a nonexistent horn going off, the armies behind her and the hoard miles away in front of her, charged towards one another with countless forms of battle cries echoing through the valley. With her own battle cry falling from her tongue, "Guardians Unite!", she charged.

"Guardians unite!" The voice rung through her head, instantly waking her up. Why was that dream so vivid? She rubbed the sleep from her eyes. Normally she would forget her dreams the moment she opened her eyes but it didn't make any sense for this dream to be any different; to be so detailed that she still remembered what the creatures looked like even though they were miles away.

Glancing at the digital clock on her bedside stand, she groaned. Once again, she woke before her alarm, the green colored numbers changing to 6:45 and almost instantly the annoying beeping got set off. Turning the sound off as quickly as it came, she climbed out of bed.

"Wynter!" Her mother's voice comes from the other side of her bedroom door, like clockwork, now that school has official began.

"I'm up!" Said girl called back. She could hear her mother's light footsteps disappearing down the hall as she grabbed her robe and towel and headed to the bathroom across the hall, easily beating her little brother to it.

Once out and back in her room, Wynter was digging through her drawers for a pair of jean shorts when her phone vibrated on her side table. She hurriedly swiped it off the table like she was expecting someone other than Dakota texting her.

Be there in 15.

Kay. See ya then.

Normally she would give herself a ride but since her own car was in the shop, she had asked her best, and only, friend for a ride to school. Already off to a great start for the new school year but it wasn't her fault a deer decided to dart out in front of her when she was on her way home the other night.

Wynter pulled on the pair of light jean shorts she had found. In search of her grey long sleeve graphic tee, she dug through her dresser drawers, knowing it was cleaned and in one of the dresser's drawers. After succeeding, she slipped on some black converses and shook her hair out of the towel that had been wrapped around her head; her jet-black hair falling just below her shoulder blades. Liking the way her hair looked when it air dries, she just brushed out her bangs, then grabbed her phone and book bag and made her way downstairs. She had gotten to the last step when a bright orange blur whizzed by her, laughing hysterically. She rolled her eyes smiling at her little brother, Shiro.

"Yamamoto Shiro!" Her mother, Satomi, followed closed behind, with a fork in hand waving it about, yelling in her native tongue, Japanese. "Get your bright little butt upstairs and brush your teeth."

Wynter laughed as she headed to the kitchen to grab a quick breakfast and wait for Dakota, her mind constantly going back to her dream.

-Dakota-

Dakota could hear her twin brothers knocking on the other side of the door but all that noise seemed so faint, she was too absorbed on the terrifying scene that was presenting itself to her. Some might have found it interesting or thought it was a dream but she was 100% sure, maybe even 200% if that was even possible, she wasn't dreaming and it definitely was not interesting just scary. She had doubled and even tripled checked to make sure it wasn't a hallucination. Dakota was in the middle of her morning routine when out of nowhere, every drop of water, from the remaining water left in the shower to the water running out of the faucet, rose up and froze in midair. She tried everything to get it to stop but nothing was working.

"Dakota Scarlett!" Her father's booming voice made her squeal resulting in all the droplets falling back down to where they should have gone in the first place, the drains.

Did I do that? She thought. Nevertheless, the thought was cut short when her father pounded on the door once again. She pulled the towel tighter around her body then darted out of the bathroom. "Sorry lost track of time!" She called as she ran past her dad and brothers, to her room.

Dakota quickly texted Wynter as she pulled on the clothes, she picked out the night before. After she sat in front of her vanity and effortlessly French braided her hair. Trying to forget the bathroom incident she grabbed the pile of books set on her desk, shoved them in her side strap book bag and made her way to her baby blue bug to pick Wynter up. She stayed concentrated on the road, even though she could drive the way to Wynter's house in her sleep, and not on this morning's events. Once there she beeped twice and waited outside her car for her best friend.

She laughed to herself, remembering the first time Wynter and her met when they were little. When Dakota first moved to Heatherfield, Wynter was the first one she met and it just happened to be out of pure luck. Dakota had gone to the grocery store with her mom since they didn't have much food after the move and was fooling around, giggling when she turned a corner a collided with another child. This child just happened to be Wynter, and instead of crying or yelling at each other, like other kids, they laughed until their cheeks hurt. Since then, it has been her and Wynter against everything.

"Looking cute as usual," Wynter commented with a smile, also knocking Dakota back to present day.

Dakota pride herself on looking pretty, or at least her definition of pretty, every day for school. For the first day of school, she wore regular-colored jeans, which had a rip in one knee, and a white short sleeve crew neck. The only two things that she never changed were her baby blue Converses and black rimmed glasses. She tried flipping her umber curls in a dramatic way but since they were braided all she got was air. "C'mon," Dakota fixed her glasses, laughing. "Let's get going."

-Izzy-

Izzy pulled her old, sweaty soccer jersey off right as she entered the girls' locker room. Throwing it at her opened locker she groaned, making her teammates laugh. Even with it being cooler in the mornings, the coach still had the team sweating their asses off with the intense practices that, at times, felt like bootcamp and not high school soccer practices.

"Hey Cap! Why do we have morning practices?" Roxy, the goalie, asked.

Izzy looked at her slightly shorter but more muscular teammate, who's locker was a few lockers down from her. "Because coach thinks that if we can play in our sleep than we can play like pros." She cracked a smile as the team erupted in laughter at her mimicking voice of their coach. She pulled two towels out of clean linen closet and headed back to the showers, having only 15 minutes to clean herself.

The captain started humming to herself as she cleansed her body of the sweat and dirt, not realizing the shower was turned all the way up, filling the locker room with steam. As she hummed, Izzy replayed every moment from practice, like she always does after a practice or a game, by doing this it helps her to find all the mistakes made and fix them in order to better her team and herself at the game she loved.

Once she exited the shower, she noticed the room was silent, which was rare even in the mornings, someone was always playing music or making some sort of noise. This only meant one thing… she was in the shower longer than she planned. She wrapped one towel around her body and used the other one to shake her black hair dry as she ran to her locker, pulling out her phone from her book bag to check the time.

"Shit!" she exclaimed when she figured out, she only had 3 minutes to get change and make it to class on time. "Why didn't anyone tell me?"

In record time, she hauled her ass in black athletic shorts and a red hoodie. Realizing she grabbed the wrong pair of shoes this morning, Izzy cursed under her breath but slipped on the neon green running sneakers. Shoving the items, she didn't need back into her locker; she slammed it shut and rushed out of the locker room to her 1st period, hoping the teacher would go easy on her, being the first day of school and all. As she ran to class and avoided the hall monitors, she thought maybe she could use the 'my dad's the principal' trick to try and get out of a lecture; it always works for the head cheerleader.

-Khloe-

Khloe strutted into her 1st period class minutes after the bell rang. She shot her jock of a classmate, who was getting a lecture about lateness, a devilish smirk as she made her way to her seat; being the mayor's daughter had its perks.

"How do you do it?" Hannah, Khloe's right-hand girl, asked as she filed her nails. "How the hell do you not get in trouble?"

"Perks of being the head cheerleader and the mayor's daughter I guess." With a flick of her wrist Khloe flipped her pure blonde hair over her shoulder.

Hannah giggled as Miss. Lin started the class. However, Khloe didn't pay attention, her and Hannah texted back and forth about Friday night's football game, the first game of the season.

"So, has he asked you yet?" Hannah hooked her arm with Khloe's as they walk out of the classroom. Khloe couldn't help but smile, she knew exactly who Hannah was talking about. Captain of the football team, most popular guy in the school and by far the hottest, Lincoln Henry. "No, he hasn't but speaking of the handsome devil." Khloe turned to Hannah. "How do I look?" she asked as she frantically pulled at her clothes.

Hannah just rolled her eyes; Khloe always looked flawless. Today was no exception. Today she wore a maroon form fitting dress, that just covered her bottom, paired with white sneakers. "Perfectly beautiful."

Khloe quickly pulled out her powder from her bag, that had a mirror in it, to check her light coat of makeup and to see if she had anything in her teeth.

The crowd parted as Lincoln and a few other football players swaggered down the hall. People woot and hollered at them to get them pumped for the game. To almost every female, and a few males, students, at Sheffield Institute, Lincoln Henry was a modern-day god; those types you see on those bogus teen drama shows. He smiled once he found Khloe's hyacinth (Violet) gaze.

"Morning Khloe," Lincoln leaned a shoulder against the locker next to hers.

His football buddies slapped his back as they stayed behind him for support, as they called it, but Khloe paid no attention to them.

"Lincoln," Khloe smiled, seductively.

"You going to the game Friday?"

"Well obviously," she, once again, flipped her hair over her shoulder. "I am the head cheerleader."

Lincoln let out a nervous laugh as he scratched the back of his neck. "Alright, what about Homecoming?"

"Depends on who asks me." Clearly hinted at Lincoln to ask.

He smirked but the bell rang and hands landed on his shoulders. "Come on Lover Boy." Luke, the team's kicker, pulled him away as Khloe and Hannah giggled.

-CJ-

She pulled into the school's parking lot shortly before 1st period ended. She knew she was going to get in trouble for being late but there wasn't much she could do about the lateness. Well, there was, she could have set an alarm but she didn't care to think about that last night. Parking her motorcycle, CJ pulled off her helmet and shook her dirty blonde dreads before tying a black bandana around her head to keep them from falling in her face and headed towards the school.

"CJ," said girl inwardly cursed when she heard the familiar light voice of Mrs. Lin, her first period teacher, behind her. She turned to face her art teacher with her hands shoved in the front pockets of her black jeans. "It's the first day of school and you're already late." The bell rang and students started flooding out of classrooms. Mrs. Lin sighed. "You can get what you missed today at lunch. Now get to class and please don't let this become a habit… again."

CJ gave a short nod and wandered down the hall with her thoughts in the world she dreamt last night.

When lunch finally rolled around CJ was sitting under a tree out in the lunch yard after getting her art assignment from Mrs. Lin, finishing up the details on the drawling of a world she had continuous dreams about. This time the drawing was of a beautiful castle standing high on a mountain top. She penciled in every detail; from the age-old stones, that made up the castle's walls, from the moat that surrounded the base and to the plethora of vines that wound their way up and around the walls.

But movement in front of her made her stop drawing and look up. The blonde bimbo that is the head cheerleader and her cheer squad stood, all giddy, with their backs facing her. Eleven jocks showed up with their captain, who was holding a bouquet of red roses. CJ already knew where this was heading so when the jocks lined up and lifted their shirts to spell out homecoming, she just rolled her eyes trying to figure out why they were already doing homecoming proposals. Lincoln then lifted his own shirt to reveal a question mark. CJ winced at the high-pitched noises that came from the cheerleaders' mouths. By the looks and sound of it, the answer was a yes.

CJ closed her sketch book, grabbed her empty lunch tray, and headed inside. She placed her tray with the rest of the dirty trays. When she was about to plug back in her headphones, voices caught her attention. Turning her head, she saw the fiery soccer captain and the head cheerleader screaming at each other. CJ couldn't make out what they were fighting about but Mrs. Lin had intervened just in time before the soccer captain could throw something. She left the cafeteria, music blocking out the world as she made her way to her next class.

If you read the old version on here then you can see some of the main characters' names have changed. This chapter was basically to get a glimpse of what the new generation of Guardians are like.

Did I make a character too similar to another (old or new)? If you read the old story, is there something you would like to see in the new one?

Please let me know if there's something that can/should be changed! I am not trying to offend anyone.
