For all of you who are reading this message now, this text has been written after a decision I made to overhaul a majority of this book.
At the time I'm writing this, I find it lacking to my standards, and now I am currently writing it anew.
I hope yall will like this newer version.
The chill of ice cold water cruised over the new enormous monsterous body Ruby had. The feeling of the liquid was soothing as it flowed over her body and gills, while it also helped to combat the chance of overheating her nuclear fission producing heart made.
Ruby had a small amount of hope that Atlas could possibly reverse her condition, and that helped her combat her ever present soul searing agony, so she was following the bullhead and fighter jet escort around her body.
Of course, she knew there was little chance they could do anything to help her. After the energy running through her blood starting changing her body, there was no going back to how she had been before.
Even if her body was repaired, her mind would never heal fully. Ruby would remember the agony she was in for the rest of however long she had to live after the reversal was done, which a long life certainly wouldn't be a guarantee after a procedure like that.
Still, there was nothing else she could do but have that small amount of hope. She would never pray again after there had been no answers to her pleas for death. No gods answered her cries, no gods deigned to help her, nothing, nil.
More cold water rushed through her gills, dispersing oxygen through her body in giant waves while also cooling her body off slightly. Purple light still shunted off her body as visual ambient ultraviolet radiation, the center of it being her randomly flickering dorsal spines.
Her dorsal spines were connected straight to her spine and spinal cord, while her black blood coursing through them supplied them with her energy. The pilots of the fighter jets were mesmerized by the sheer beauty of the extremely deadly scene.
Their alert systems were going haywire as it picked up the radiation coming off of Ruby's enormous form(who they didn't know was Ruby). The Atlas military had designed the devices after they had researched the energies components and signature from the first few nuclear fission tests.
The sheer scale of Ruby's ambient radiation was frightening. It was well over several hundred Sieverts(A mere 5 Sieverts is the lethal dose), and that meant anyone who got too close to her unprotected from exposure, would die within mere months if not minutes.
Steam hissed around her body with how hot her internal temperature was, well over 900* Celsius and caused the water to evaporate around her. Ruby's mind was still very much in chaos, the amount of agonizing sensation running her body causing rampaging mayhem on her thoughts.
She clutched onto the hope that she could be helped to be like she was before, and that her family would still love her if she could not be restored to her past self. Those are what she held onto to remain sane through her suffering.
Another pulse of ultraviolet purple light flickered off of Ruby's dorsal plates again, while Ruby slightly lifted her head above the waves crashing against her body. So many awful sensations racked her body in waves of molesting agony, it mattered little with what a single one felt like when they were all added together in a great screaming symphony.
Ruby opened her mouth as she roared out her misery into the world around her, the sound waves and wind disturbing everything around her as the environment shook under the power of her primal scream. The air pressure dropped instantly with the eardrums of the fighter pilots and the bullhead passengers starting to bleed slightly.
"HOLY SHIT!" One of the fighter jet pilots screamed over the radio when the roar shook his plane.
For Ruby to produce a wave of sound like that from a single roar was incredible. The only reason nobody was dead, was due to the aircraft they were each nestled in and that Remnants people had developed reinforced bodies as a countermeasure against the Grimm.
Mesmerized by the display of horrific beauty and power done by Ruby, the pilots aboard the bullhead failed to notice the small red blinking light flashing on the radar/sonar device. The massive signal was approaching rapidly at about 30 knots and rising.
With the constant pulsing of her own Radar/Sonar, Ruby had quickly noticed the new threat in the form of a Grimm Leviathan, a deadly Grimm few could hope to kill. It was 50 meters tall and had a strong plasma breath, it was a foe that required several teams of veteran hunters to even begin to fight.
Ruby, however, was no longer human and she was something far stronger now. Raising her head out of the water, Ruby turned to look at where the threat was surfacing while letting her new animalistic instincts take over. Water erupted in a giant geyser as the giant Grimm breached and immediately used its plasma breath against Ruby.
The massive beam collided with Ruby while her escort scattered to avoid the blast. Smoke and fire erupted against Ruby's monsterous face, only for the smoke to clear and show Ruby was completely unscathed besides her head being pushed back by the kinetic force.
Her giant tail sprung out of the water and the dorsal plates on her lower back glowed violet. The light traveled to the tip of her tail, where the grotesque mouth opened with a hiss of steam and spat out a attack far stronger than the Leviathans.
A howling whistle filled the world from the air screaming under the heat of the beam. The Leviathan's several sets of red eyes widened before the beam impacted its body, going right through the Grimm abdomen and vaporizing any flesh it touched.
Swinging her body around through the water, Ruby slammed her tail into the remains of the Grimm while also obliterating all that was left of it from the kinetic force. Another giant geyser of scalding hot water sprang several hundred feet in the air from the crash of Ruby's tail against the ocean surface.
Soon after Ruby had killed the massive Grimm, the escort had gathered back up around Ruby, who continued on her path to Atlas. Many of the pilots were in shock and fear about what they had saw. This thing had just killed a Leviathan as easily as a hunter fighting a lone Beowulf!
"How can such a thing exist? How strong is it at its full potential?" One male pilot whispered over the radio frequency, his question alarming all the other people who had just barely heard it.
This thing had just been reborn as this this very day. So how much more time will it take for it to grow even stronger than it already was?
"So much power in a single humans hands...their like a newborn God." Winter murmured softly before the steam around the monsterous girl exploded in size, a giant cloud of hot white mist covered the escort and fogged up their vehicles reinforced windshields.
Another ear shattering roar blasted over the seemingly endless horizon from Ruby, the sheer volume of it causing the soldiers to clap their hands onto their ears. Ruby's body writhed in spasms while diving a bit deeper below the water, the heat of her body from using her atomic breath turned the water around her to valleys of thick steam.
Winter withdrew herself deeper into the flying bullhead, able to feel the heat around Ruby even from how far away she was, her aura pulsing slightly from it protect her against the scorching temperature of the steam cloud.
'It seems they can't even contain their newfound power currently, its killing them every time they use it...' Winter had noticed that while staring at the enormous monsterous beast in the water.
She couldn't fathom what the poor mutated soul was feeling inside such a body right now. It made goosebumps appear on her skin from that mere thought of that much suffering...
'STOP! IT HURTS! WHYWHYWHYWHYWHY?!' Ruby wailed in her mind while her body felt like it was cooking from the inside out, her body was not adjusted to the strain of using her new atomic breath.
If only she could share her pain with someone to lessen the burden, or even someone to vent the emotions she felt from the situation. She wanted something, someone, anything to acknowledge her suffering, her misery, her agony!
'Someone! Help me! PLEASE! I WANT TO DIE, BUT MY OWN BODY WON'T LET ME AGAINST MY WILL! KILL ME! PLEASE!' Ruby thrashed in her mind, the millions of different sensations rocking her body assaulting her mind in tandem with her body.
Within her body, her blood boiled from the effects of her fusion generator heart, that same blood coursed through her body, roiling with the strength of a magma vent. Her sense of time was being affected with the constant cellular division and mutation, the feeling of thousands upon thousands of years passing with every bleeding second.
The confines of her mind were a massive coffin. She had no way to speak or to let one hear her plight. Her new bodies mouth was incapable of speech, she had a mouth, but all she could do was scream, scream, SCREAM!
Not in a million years would Ruby wish her own fate even upon her own worst enemies. Her mind was breaking, shattering, and there was so much she could do before she snapped. Her minds metaphorical hands latched onto happy memories, the hope that her family would still love her as she is, even if she can even regain a semi-humanoid body to be with them that is.
Memories of happy days with her mother, spending time playing with her sister, Yang, watching her father cook dinner for them to enjoy. It was all ripped away when a white hot lightning bolt of unrelenting agony speared through her being with the mercilessness of an evil god.
Ruby screamed in her mind and into the outside world, a giant roar that shook the world with the weight of uncountable emotions that Ruby felt. Bubbles sprang from her horribly scarred mouth, clouding Ruby in a sea of white salty seafoam.
Winter watched within the confines of her aircraft, her heart wrenching painfully in her chest at the sight before her. This being had been by all accounts a human this morning, but now they were trapped in a body that had been forced upon them.
After another ten minutes of watching Ruby swim, Winter noticed they were coming upon the Solitas ice belt. The ice belt was a collection of icebergs and glaciers that lined the coast of the continent of Solitas, they had been formed a long time ago by the typical sub-zero climate of the continent.
Some of the biggest ones laid in the path of Ruby, whom Winter grew concerned for when it didn't change course in the slightest. Ruby raised her dorsal plates out of the water even higher, the jet black color of them shimmering with the purple hue of her natural energy.
Collision alerts blared upon the multi-faced monitors of each aircraft of Ruby's escort, the air fleet started dispersing to avoid the enormous ice chunks dotting the area. They all watched in apprehension as Ruby approached the first iceberg, the size of it nearly matching her own.
100 meters until impact, 80 meters, 40 meters, 10 meters...
Water shunted off of her body as she came head to head with the giant block of ice, then her dorsal plates slammed into it with a shockwave that sent massive waves of water and a concussive blast of sound out around her.
Chunks of ice flew through the air as lethal shrapnel, one nearly taking out of the fighter escorts. The male pilot swore loudly while he executed a barrel roll dive to avoid certain death. Ruby smashed through another iceberg, not slowing down in the slightest to her goal.
Ice flew everywhere while the air fleet was desperately trying to avoid the frozen objects. Soon after, Ruby hit the shallow end of the continental shelf, enough for her to stand to her full height. Ruby started to rise out of the water while one of the pilots with exceptional eyesight noticed that the tide had receded on the shore about 10 miles away.
"It's going to create a Tsunami!" He yelled over the radio, causing many to focus their weapon guidance systems on the beach to see if he was correct.
Several of them sucked in their breath when they saw giant waves forming off of Ruby, the mountainous waves picking up speed as they headed towards the beach. Sea animals near the surface were picked up in the waves and carried forth to the land ahead.
Thankfully there were no settlements on this part of the icy continent, for it was far too cold to produce enough food for a community to thrive. The Tsunami slammed into the beach and the forest just beyond it.
Trees cracked and shattered from the kinetic force of the unrelenting sea, rocks were thrown far away from their previous location, animals screamed and ran as fast as they could to avoid the claws of chilly death.
Aquatic Grimm began to surface and struggle in the waves along with the avian Grimm taking flight, desperately trying to save themselves. Ruby stood up to her full height and was now towering over everything in the vicinity by a mind-boggling size.
Lifting her left leg into the air, Ruby brought it down in a single step that shook the land for miles around. Dirt and water skyrocketed into the air with large vibrations traveling through the earth, her lipless mouth still set into a disturbing grin.
Awe and fear graced the faces of most of the escort when Ruby took that first step. Their jets were no bigger than the size of the claws on her foot for Oum's sake! Ruby marched forward with the land shaking from every earth crushing step she made, water and rubble flew into the air from where Ruby walked forth.
The Grimm who had survived the Tsunami had taken note of Ruby by now, feeling the exquisite buffet of negative emotions rolling of her. To them it was irresistible, enough to befuddle them and forget the threat she posed to anything that breathed.
The aquatic Grimm were the first to react, rushing into the water to swim out and meet Ruby who was still a few miles from shore. The aerial Grimm were next, flocks of Nevermore's and Sphinxes blotted the sky in a black mass of despair.
Ruby could see the black horde splayed out into the horizon before her through her eyes and the new radar/sonar system she had evolved to have. Rage built in her mind, these bastards want to stop her from getting to Atlas!
|Thadump! Thadump!| Ruby's fusion producing heart started beating faster, her black blood bringing atomic energy from her heart to the rest of her body. Purple light solidified on her dorsal plates and the unprotected parts of her flesh.
Radiation alarms within her escorts aircraft blaring warnings. Winter's eyes widened in fear as she saw the staggering numbers flashing on her console. The purple ultraviolet glow adorning Ruby's body traveled up her spine while heading straight to where her grotesque head sat.
"SHIT! SHE'S GOING TO ATTACK, MOVE OUT NOW!" Winter commanded as every pilot broke away from Ruby, the purple glow grew stronger until it ran up to her head.
Her jaw unhinged like a grotesque snakes with the purple glow building in her throat. The glow shot out in another purple beam that made the air scream from the sheer heat it contained. The first Grimm to be struck was one of the flocks of Nevermore's, the beam passed through them and left not a single trace of their existence behind.
Not even ash remained of them.
Turning her head, Ruby moved the beam to wipe out more flocks of the aerial Grimm trying to approach her. They tried to avoid the beam of instant death, but it was all for naught when they combusted into flames from even being near the beam.
Those aerial Grimm that weren't directly hit by the beam fell from the sky as melting carcasses, crashing into the water or land below them in storm of cinders. Next to die were the aquatic Grimm, who were either vaporized or burned to death by the scalding steam that blanketed the ocean surface after the beam touched it.
There was barely any Grimm left after the single atomic beam, the purple glow around Ruby died down as she shut off her atomic beam. Heat built inside her body from the use of her energy, her throat feeling like she had just vomited the sun out of herself.
She stopped moving for a bit as her body did its best to cool herself off, her thick black blood coursing just underneath her skin for maximum air contact. The water still around her shins and feet helped cool her off slightly faster than just using air contact.
Ten minutes passed as Ruby thermoregulated herself by lowering her body temperature to its new normal state of 900* Celsius. Once her body cooled off enough, Ruby started walking again towards where The Atlesian Titan had docked itself in the wilderness by following her escort.
"We on approach to The Titan, ETA ten minutes." Winter called over the radio frequency her military uses, a confirmation soon came across the radio with a slight crackle of static from Ruby's ambient radiation interfering with the electronics.
"10-4 White Dove." Winter frowned at her callsign that felt was rather demeaning to her, a dove was harmless while she was certainly not anywhere close to harmless.
Though it's not like she can hold a candle to the one hundred and twenty meter tall monsterous human they were escorting. By Oum she had just wiped out an army of Grimm and caused a natural disaster in less than five minutes!
To have that kind of power in a single souls hands was worrying. Atlas might be able to produce a countermeasure against them given time, time that may or may not be ever against them if they were correct on how the transformed human's anatomy worked.
Until then however they were powerless before the beast since even The Atlesian Titan had no armaments besides another bomb that could theoretically hurt her.
Another ten minutes passed with the sounds of roaring jet engines and Ruby's earthshaking stomps that shattered the land, and soon a massive air ship came into view from a clearing in the tree's.
Ruby marveled at the design of such a war-faring vessel with the part her mind that had been fighting off her misery enough to think rationally. The large dust cannons fascinated her as she used to be a weapons geek before the blast earlier that day.
Now all she wanted was a chance to turn back to who she had been before, a sweet and innocent girl who wanted to be a huntress. Taking the last step forward to be at the tree line just beyond the moored capital ship, Ruby came to a stop and stood still.
As big as the Atlesian ship was, Ruby still outsized it by an amount that seemed unrealistic. The vessel of war had to be at least two hundred feet tall and four hundred feet long. Even with that massive size, Ruby was both taller and longer than it.
The reference picture if you want to use it: .
Looking down upon the massive ship using her Radar, Ruby felt more miserable than she had before. That ship was capable of fighting almost every threat on Remnant, besides her now it seems.
'So this is the fate I am consigned to? To be labeled an abomination before being designated a threat and being put down?' Ruby whimpered softly in her mind while using her radar to examine her new body.
Her charcoal black skin was burnt looking with patches of exposed red skin, her snout had no lips and was set in a disturbing grin. Dorsal plates sprouted from her back that flashed purple sometimes, leaking her bodies deadly energy across the area she was in.
'I really am a monster now...WHY DOES FATE HATE ME SO?! WHAT DID I DO TO DERSERVE THIS?!' The girl screamed with rage inside of her thoughts since her life was now misery incarnate.
Was it the whims of an evil god that did this to her? Or was it something predesignated by fate itself? What would happen in the coming years due to her becoming what she is now? Is she trapped forever like this? Can she break free of this cursed fate?
All these questions and more tumbled through Ruby's mind as an unstoppable avalanche, her rage and hatred blossoming even further as she felt her chest began to burn once more from her body overheating.
Gauging how much radiation she couldn't vent at a single time, Ruby strained with effort as she released as little ambient radiation as she could. It was akin to a stream trickling out of an ocean, but it would be enough to give her more time before she would overheat again.
She had to be very careful as her energy would kill anything living nearby if she released too of her excess energy at once, that was something that would cause so much death Ruby would never forgive herself.
Purple light flickered from her dorsal plates while she released her atomic energy, the light slowly covered the area from her back. Alarm's blared from the giant warship that made Ruby slightly worried, she had no idea if the warship could damage her new body or not yet.
Still, she needed to do this or it would become a very worse problem in a short amount of time. If she let her energy build up too much...it would either make her melt alive from the heat or make her explode like the bomb that had transformed her had.
White hot agony still pulsed through her body with her cells still mutating and evolving every second, but right now, through all of the pain and misery, she wished more than anything that she had her old body back.
Her old dream of having kid's of her own one day was long shattered since they would simply wither away from being near her for too long. Either that, or they would be born with her curse, or her partner would simply die from her radiation before she even got the chance to have a kid.
'All I ever wanted was to be a huntress and make my own family some day...now I'm stuck in a horribly mutated body that hurts so much, that it takes all of my mental strength to not lash out at everything around me.' Ruby wanted to cry, to release her frustrations in a normal way, but it was impossible for her to do it in her current body.
'A downward slope is all I see...' Ruby let her consciousness slip into darkness for the time being, she didn't want her own suicidal thought's and endless torment to go on for right now.
Scene Break: Ironwood and Winter
"Sir...I can't even imagine what's their going through right now...to wake up in the morning a normal human, only to become what most would call a monster." Winter commented somberly while staring from the warships bridge at Ruby.
Ironwood looked at her before releasing a sigh of withered tiredness. His soul itself felt heavy from looking at what may very well be his life's greatest mistake.
"I know, I am the one who condemned them to such a fate after all. I want to be get rid of the bombs, but I doubt the Atlesian council will let go of such a powerful weapon so soon." Anger flashed across the old man's face from the thought of his countries corrupt council, the greedy bastards would be quick to use the bombs against the other kingdom's if they could gain something from it.
That was something he could not allow, so he was going to use the monsterous human as a martyr to prevent it. It was not a foolproof plan by any means, but it was better than setting the world ablaze by having total war or complete annihilation by the being in front of his ship.
"Get 1st Lieutenant Iwa with his telepathy semblance, we need to find out who the human was before this." Ironwood ordered as Winter gave him a salute before running to the intelligence department, Ironwood looked back out the window with a somber face to the girl.
'I'm...sorry I ever let this happen to you, nothing I say will ever fix this mistake. I can't die before I finish my mission of killing the Grimm permanently, but after that I will gladly present my neck for you to bring a blade down upon.' Ironwood promised inside of his head and soon Winter came back with the 1st lieutenant.
"Put on the hazard suits, we are going out there to the beast!" Ironwood commanded while the two officer's saluted, Ironwood went his personal quarters to change into the hazard suit made for him.
Ten minutes passed before the trio were aboard a bullhead piloted by Ironwood, the engines were loud as they approached the unmoving form of Ruby head hundreds of feet above the ground.
Ruby's tail came alive and went straight to the front of the bullhead the trio was in, sweat and fear was released from them as they awaited the purple beam from Ruby's tail they had seen several times before now.
Though it never came like they expected, instead the tail moved away from them to afar. Ironwood was unnerved as Ruby's head had not moved in the slightest.
"I think the tail is sentient..." Ironwood wondered aloud while the other two gave the still moving tail a terrified but curious look.
"Iwa are you in range now?" Ironwood asked while glancing at Ruby's face that was a rock throw away from the bullhead, the man gulped nervously while closing his eyes to make the connection with his semblance.
"I am reaching out no-AAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGH" The man screamed while his legs buckled from underneath him and he landed in a heap on the ground, his face was contorted in so much sheer pain it was unbelievable.
"IWA! SNAP OUT OF IT!" Winter shouted while shaking the man awake after he had passed out for a few seconds from what he had felt.
"Oh my Oum! She has to deal that much agony and fear right now?!" The man whispered while terrified of what he had felt for a mere second.
"What do you mean?" Ironwood asked while fearing the worst, that the being in front them was becoming extremely unstable.
"She is in so much agony from the blast that I never thought one could achieve such a horrendous feeling." Horrible guilt came across the trio's face at what the telepath had explained, they all had a hand in dealing this girl's fate by creating a weapon of war.
A snort of hot breath rocked the ship from Ruby's awakening, her mind had returned from its short slumber and noticed the bullhead in front of her snout.
"I am going to try again!" Iwa explained while closing his eyes to focus and his brow started to sweat from the strain of his semblance.
"Hello? Can you hear me?" Iwa projected his thought's to Ruby after the connection had been made while a vast presence filled his mind when Ruby answered back.
"Who are you?" Ruby asked weakly from the sheer mental duress she had been under since morning and her voice was seemed to be no more than a whisper to Iwa.
The voice that came from the being had a feminine tone to it, so he guessed they had been a girl before this morning.
"My name is Iwa, I am a 1st lieutenant in the Atlas military. I am using my semblance of telepathy to talk to you." Iwa stated after Ruby's big dead eye tried to look at the bullhead he was on, he felt a glimmer of hope fill Ruby's mind from being able to talk to another human being.
"Can Atlas help me? Turn me back to normal?" Ruby whispered the question while Iwa tried to find the best answer he could.
There was no point in trying to tell a white lie to her, for she had suffered enough already as is. The problem was that Atlas may not have the resources or technology to do so, even if given years of time and research.
"I cannot promise it. You are the first human to ever be exposed to atomic energy and the only living being to actively produce it." Iwa explained with sadness as he felt a pulse of many emotions flash across
"What is your name?" Iwa questioned as Ruby's mind flashed a image of a young girl with silver eyes and two toned black and red hair.
"...Ruby, Ruby Rose" Ruby said as Iwa paused his line of thought as he felt a sense of recognition at her last name.
He tried to remember from where he had heard it. A few seconds later he remembered a huntress from a legendary team from shortly before he had joined the Atlas Academy with the same last name.
"Are you able to control your abilities? If you can, you may be able to give yourself a more humanoid body." Iwa suggested before Ruby gave a short reply.
"I will try. If I fail leave the area or you will die..." Ruby warned Iwa weakly before her dorsal plates exploded in purple light while her body started undergoing rapid evolution under a single booming command.
"GIVE ME BACK MY HUMAN BODY!" She roared in her mind with fury, anguish, and longing.
The sound of flesh cracking and splitting filled the air around Ruby, tears opened out of Ruby's jet black skin spewing thick abyss colored blood. Ironwood lurched the bullhead away from the currently evolving Ruby to avoid the rising ambient radiation and geysers of blood/
Stunning amounts of fear filled his face before looking at Iwa, his mouth set in a terrified look.
"WHAT IS IT DOING?!" He screamed while Iwa had a lone tear fall from his left eye, he had heard the last command Ruby gave with all of it's feelings.
"Gaining her body back." Iwa explained in a state of awe and hope for the girl while Ironwood landed the bullhead next to Ruby's shrinking body.
Black blood fell in cascades from Ruby splitting and compacting body, her 120 meter form had already shrunk to a mere 20 meter's in the time it took them to land. The ear shattering roars of pain were becoming more and more human sounding.
Fighter jets were on standby in case the being attacked the trio unprovoked. The trio and soldier guards ran around after landing to avoid being hit with the black blood, splotches of the dark liquid coated the land and a few unlucky soldiers.
Ruby kept shrinking until she was incased in a cocoon of flesh eight feet tall and ten feet wide, the cocoon pulsated whilst glowing with purple inside of it. Though a black clawed hand eventually broke through the red gory membrane, black blood spurted out in waves from the broken pod.
A somewhat human looking figure spilled out onto the snow covered ground. They had no lip's on their mouth while every visible tooth was enormous in size, looking like jagged daggers or steak knives. Jet black armored skin covered most of their body, there was patched of deathly pale white skin showing near the leg's, shoulders, and face though.
Red patches of glowing flesh did show upon most area's of the jet black skin and there were red ring's apparent especially on the tail. Her ribcage and chest were covered in the black skin that looked armored and jutted out to a point just below her collarbone, the girlish figure was a little over eight feet tall in height and was about twenty feet in length from tail tip to head.
Giant and dense bone dorsal plates ran down the length of her spine until the tip of their tail, the tail tip itself resembled a flower design. The leg's and hand's ended in large claw's on every digit, long greyish red hair flowed from their skull to their lower back.
Silver pupil's shone on the figures eyes with a large amount of agony present in them, the figure rolled over on its side while gasping for air. Ruby took a deep breath before letting loose a pain filled wail, during her change she had felt every part of her body being compacted into a much smaller size.

"AAAAAAARRRRGGHHAAAAAAAA!" Ruby shrieked before losing consciousness from the torment she went through, Winter rushed forward to check if Ruby was still alive and found she couldn't even move Ruby's body a single inch.
Though Winter eyes widened in fear when Ruby's tail swung forward and hit Winter to protect Ruby. The older woman was sent skidding back ten feet before laying still while groaning, a few of her ribs throbbing and possibly fractured.
Since it seemed they could not move Ruby, they had no choice but to wait for her to awaken, thankfully for them it took only a mere five minutes for the girl to wake up again. Winter did cover Ruby's lower body with her coat, though.
"Where am I?" Ruby mumbled weakly since her mind was not all there just yet, she raised her hand to her temple only to see her clawed hand and feel her lipless mouth.
'So even though I gained a human body, I STILL am a monster? WHY DAMMIT WHY?!' Ruby raged loudly in her thoughts after she regained her memories of what had happened.
Soon after, her body pulsed in a fresh wave of heat while her dorsal plates glowed her signature color.
"Shit! Move away now!" Ruby croaked loudly as the Atlas people ran away screaming in fear, her dorsal plates erupted into the purple beams she could annihilate armies with.
The beams made the air scream from the several hundred thousand degree heat they had, the clouds they hit were made into pure steam. The beams traveled until they hit the lower stratosphere and fizzled out, it took Ruby about twenty seconds of nonstop firing to use the last of her excess energy she had produced during her change.
Steam came off of Ruby's body as she slumped slowly to the ground and the Atlas group slowly came back to where Ruby laid still on the ground. They heard heavy panting coming from the girl that almost killed them a minute before, Ironwood took the initiative as he slowly approached Ruby with his hands up.
"I am General Ironwood of Atlas, the island we dropped the bomb on was supposed to be uninhabited...Why in Oum's name were you there?" Ironwood asked while Ruby slowly looked up at him with her disturbing Silver eyes.
Ironwoods breath caught in his throat for a split second, it was not enough time for one to notice without having observed him the whole time, though.
"I was training for my classes at Signal Academy on Patch. I wanted to go to Beacon eventually, so I trained there." Ruby spoke with a very, very, tired voice.
She felt utterly exhausted from the constant use of her energy, which was running fairly low at this point. It seemed that having low reserves made her lethargic, so she needed time to regain the energy she had lost.
"Iwa what was her name?" Ironwood whispered to his officer and Iwa replied back to him.
"She said her name was Ruby Rose, Sir." Iwa answered as Ironwood's eyes widened with shock and he delved into a string of curses.
"Iwa says your name is Ruby Rose, I used to know your mother from when we crossed paths during missions." Ironwood told Ruby who's silver eyes widened with upon the idea that he could give her information on how her mother had vanished, and it was a half truth since he and her mother had gone on missions upon Ozpin's orders together.
That was something that not many knew and it needed to stay that way, though he can surely tell a story or two to the girl as they flew. Ruby was slowly learning to ignore most of her agony as she got used to her human form, it was still there but she could ignore it for a while.
Though there will be times she can't hold in the screams in her throat anymore, the fact she could ignore the sensations was amazing given how many and potent they were.
"Get on the bullhead, I'll be taking you home!" Ironwood ordered as Ruby's eyes lit up, she had hoped that she could see Yang and her dad again.
Ruby slowly stumbled towards the Bullhead, she was unfamiliar with her new body and was struggling with her new weight and balance. The dorsal plates on her back and the tail coming out of her rear made it difficult for her to stay upright without falling onto her back.
Her hands clutched onto the coat covering most of her modesty and Winter rushed in while hoisting Ruby's arm over her shoulder to stabilize the girl's balance. Ironwood got in the cockpit and they took off to Patch to get Ruby home, the bullhead did buckle under Ruby's immense weight slightly once she got onto it.
'Home...' Ruby thought as the bullhead took off towards the southwest.
Annnnnd that's it!
