For all of you who are reading this message now, this text has been written after a decision I made to overhaul a majority of this book.
At the time I'm writing this, I find it lacking to my standards, and now I am currently writing it anew.
I hope yall will like this newer version.
Also, the poll is over for who joins the harem.
Neo won with five votes versus Pyrrha's three, so after a certain arc, Neo will be added in.
Ruby POV:
I was right about getting a ass whooping yesterday. Yang really put the hurt on me with our spars. It appears that my skin is incredibly hard to pierce, but it's still vulnerable to blunt force trauma and raw kinetic energy. Yang's specialty of combat is exactly that, and boy, did some of her hit's bruise me.
Then again, this Yang I'm talking about; somebody well known for having enough strength to crack a concrete pillar with a single punch. She told me she would teach me CQC, explaining the idea to me that this is something that would be a must for me to learn with my new body.
Of course, she has to adjust what she knows to compensate for my extra appendages, namely my enormous tail most of all. I also decided that since my own tail is sentient, I should give it a name and thus came about the tail known as Scylla; named after a very old legend of a beast with many heads that guarded a passageway.
Today, though, is the day both Yang and I head to Beacon Academy. Even as undesirable as the circumstances for me being able to come are, I am conflicted that I get to go to my dream school as a monster.
Damn my stupidity that day! Every beat of my heart reminds me of the mistake I made and humanities push for more progress. With every heartbeat, deadly energy pumps through my body using my blood as transportation.
After the fiasco with Dad and Yang, I realized I have to have complete control over my own energy output...or I risk killing innocent people wherever I walk.
Heh. I wonder if Ironwood has found out I already killed people on accident? No doubt he's already studying the blood I left behind in Atlas when I regained this humanoid body...I just hope he has enough common sense to not play God with it.
Currently; I am the only being on this planet with enough power to claim that sacred title for myself, for nothing short of a God can wipe out cities and entire armies alone.
If I am the God of anything...
It would be The God Of Agony And Evolution.
Right now, I'm sitting in bed swiping through the news feed of my new scroll. My old one was atomized in the blast...another thing to curse Atlas for! Shaking my head slightly to try and keep the anger away, I see a unusual story that was curious to me.
There were reports of a massive unidentified terrestrial organism going around Atlas. These reports had mostly been made by people who lived outside of Atlas and Mantle, the wild people who made a living hunting or trapping game to sell.
Most of the people of Atlas didn't believe them, but I knew better than to dismiss these claims. If such a creature were to exist, I would likely have to become the first and last line of defense against it.
All the hunters, Grimm, and Atlesian military combined can't stop me, and if were to battle something on the same scale as myself? The death toll would be astronomical and the damage to infrastructure untold.
Only one picture had been caught so far, one taken by a wild woman who had enough money to get a decent scroll. The picture was of a black metallic wing a bit bigger than the size of my God form soaring just overhead of the forest canopy.
This revelation caused me to feel dread and sent chills down my body.
Sweat poured down my head that soon turned to steam from my control slipping for heat regulation. If this thing did exist...
In this world, only two things can create something like that; radiation or me...
As of now, Remnant had just two places with traces of my mutated genome currently; the island of my dark rebirth and Atlas. I'm willing to bet that the unknown creature was born in the former of the two, because the citizens of Atlas would realize if any their airships had been destroyed at that airbase.
If this thing does exist, it will surely come to fight me soon. I'm the biggest source of radiation on this planet. Radiation is what we both feed on, the thing that gives us life.
When that happens... since I am going to live at Beacon starting today, both Beacon and Vale will fall if I am killed. That is an outcome I would NEVER allow to happen. Once I know it's coming, I will head out to the Emerald Forest to fight it if I can.
If that thing has come into contact with my blood...I must prepare for a drawn-out fight to the death.
My radioactive blood and bio-atomic heart are what fuels most of my evolution. If the thing has actually mutated with my blood, it would be the worst-case scenario. This beast might be able to evolve on the same scale as me, meaning nothing short of total matter annihilation will kill it.
Even if it has my ability to evolve; I am the only one with enough power and strength necessary to fight it. I doubt my beams are strong enough to atomize it yet, I can do that to trees as proven by the other day...but not something as big as my other form.
I doubt even Atlas has the technology to fight a being similar to me just yet. That airship General Ironwood commanded might be able to do some decent damage, but nowhere near enough to kill me or that beast if it's real.
My skin is only vulnerable to blunt force trauma as shown by my training with Yang. All piercing and slashing weapons grate against my skin and cause a shower of sparks, projectiles crumple against my skin like plastic.
The only weapon capable of causing lethal damage to me, is my own atomic beams I can produce. If Atlas finds a way to produce a thermal ray, that might be able to kill me if it's potent enough.
The problem for them is that only total matter annihilation will permanently kill me since I can regenerate as long as a single cell of my being exists.
That's all it would take for me to arise again; a single lone cell. I know this as I can still feel every cell of my body mutating and splitting even now. Right now, though, I need to start getting ready for the travel to Beacon. The first thing to do is a cold shower, since a hot shower would turn all the water into steam from my core temperature.
Walking into the bathroom, I strip off my custom-made clothes I ordered in Vale, that had openings for my dorsal plates and tail. Turning the shower onto the coldest setting I could, I stepped into the waterfall and began dousing my long greyish red hair.
While I still hate how my body looks now, I can finally see why Yang likes her hair long. It feels nice running my hand through my soft hair. I begin to wash my hair with some shampoo, only to start coughing as some of it dribbles into my mouth.
"|PLOURGHF!| |Cough!| |Cough!| DAMN MY LIPLESS MOUTH! OH GOD'S IT TASTES NASTY!" I shout while coughing and spitting the shampoo out of my mouth.
Building a bit of atomic energy into my mouth, I burnt the taste of strawberry scented shampoo off my tongue. The radiation leaves my tongue tasting like...I don't know how to really describe the taste of radiation on my tongue really.
All I know is that it tastes sour and it burns. I picked up a loofah and started cleaning the outside of my gills since I couldn't really shove it inside my gills to clean them without feeling a lot of pain. My dorsal plates get clean with just having water run over them, thankfully.
What are my dorsal plates made of anyway? I think it's some sort of hardened bone that connects to my spine and circulatory system. I start washing my sentient tail known as Scylla, I curled her up around my feet since she's so damn long.
Having a thirteen foot long tail can be a pain in the ass, both physically and metaphorically. It does come straight out of my ass from my modified tailbone, making it that much harder to sit down normally.
After I finished washing all of my extra appendages, some being a bit harder to do than others (Scylla's damn length!), I get out of the shower and head into my bedroom to get a pair of underwear on.
Well...it's embarrassing to admit this, but I had to start wearing boys underwear after becoming a Futa against my will. For some reason, it's so much easier to put on than panties, something I've come to appreciate with how big my...dick is.
My chest, though...IS NOW FUCKING FLATTER THAN A SLAB OF IRON! I lost ALL of my breast size since my chest is now covered in a nearly impenetrable set of dermal armor! Their still there, but damn if they ain't tiny and completely covered now!
I MIGHT be able to fix that problem by forcibly control an evolution again, but that would be painfully and wayyyy too stimulating for being a Futa.
I've already had to deal with finding out how that...thing works. The damn hormones that come with it make me feel a lot of new empathy for boy's, a single glance at Yang's big chest left me disgusted at how horny I became.
Like fuck, that's my sister! Why would I be horny from looking at her chest! I swear next time I see General Ironwood, he is going to be impaled on my dorsal plates! All of this suffering is caused by his stupid fucking bomb!
Finally getting on one of the custom made outfits I ordered in Vale. I started packing my bag's to live at Beacon.
After about twenty minutes of packing my bags, I am finally ready to go to Beacon Academy today.
No matter what team I get put on, I get a custom made dorm with the deal I made with headmaster Ozpin. I really hope he puts in that pool I asked for, because I could really use it to keep my gills clean and my body from overheating.
What I'm not a fan of from the deal I made with him, is that my body is going to be studied by someone. I hope isn't some creepy old doctor...
I can hear Yang getting ready, since it's almost time to go now. Dad will no doubt be crying as we board the bullhead, not wanting his two daughters to grow up so soon. Old Softie!
Walking out of my room with my nearly small closet sized suitcase, since my custom clothes took up a large amount of space. Purple light flickered off of my dorsal plates when I sat down on the floor beside the couch, releasing a very small and non-lethal dose of radiation into the house.
Dad and Yang will be fine with their strong auras to shield them. Scylla waves like a snake in the air behind my dorsal plate covered back, possibly looking for threats of any kind. I still can remember that roar I heard when Yang and me were in the club.
The roar I heard might have been that creature sighted around Atlas. I can detect frequencies much lower than even a faunas can hear now with my enhanced senses, I can also make such frequencies myself. Shaking my body like a dog, I let out a growl that shakes the floor from how deep and powerful it is.
Even with such a short and small growl, it quite possibly was detected all the way at Vale. Not that the Valerian government could understand it was me, I mean who would expect a 15 year old girl to be what I am now?
Then again, those stares and whispers I got in Vale were horrible...it made me feel like I was truly a monster in their eyes. I could feel the fear coming off of every soul that I passed, one or two kids cried at my appearance and making my heart hurt from making a kid cry like that.
I hope Dad and Yang hurry up.
Switch over to 3rd person POV (I now fucking hate doing first person POV's):
Ruby waited in the living room beside the couch for Yang and her dad to appear, absent mindedly rubbing her hand over Scylla's rough bumpy surface to pass the time. Every so often her gill's would flap or her dorsal plates would flicker.
After waiting for about ten more minutes, Yang came in with a hurriedly packed suitcase in her hands. Sweat ran off of her forehead from having woken up late and rushed to be packed in time.
"About time! I was debating if it would be faster to just swim my way up to Vale." All Yang gave her was a tired huff as a response to the joke.
Setting her suitcase next to Ruby's, Yang sat down beside Ruby while trying to untangle her ferocious bedhead. Yang glanced over at Ruby before her eyes landed on Ruby's midsection, confusion dawn her face when she noticed Ruby had a bigger belly?
"Hey Ruby...is it me or is your belly bigger than before?" She confusingly asked Ruby who shook her head no with confusion.
"I don't think so? I don't feel any heavier than usual. I did have a burning sensation in my stomach yesterday though..." Her words trailed off at the end as she thought about what that had been, no doubt thinking on why that one evolution had been rather painless.
Thinking about her evolutions, Ruby realized something. She had never shown Yang or her father her other form. Ruby knew she should show them to help them understand what she is now before she goes to Beacon.
'If that beast is real, I'm going to have to fight it in my other form. That thing will take every ounce of my strength to kill, and my human form isn't big or powerful enough to do that.' Making up her mind, Ruby got up from the couch and looked at Yang with a serious expression.
"Yang...before we go to Beacon, I need to show you and Dad what I'm now fully capable of. I need you to get Dad and go outside." With that said, Ruby walked away to the front door and opened it without looking at Yang.
Yang was now confused on what Ruby had meant by what she was fully capable of.
'Ruby can already destroy a city with a beam of hers, and that's not her full capabilities?' A shiver went down her spine at that thought, she then walked to her father's room and knocking on the door.
"Dad! Ruby needs to show us something outside before we leave!" Yang shouted through the thick wooden door to her father.
"Coming!" He answered before the door opened wide and her father, Taiyang, walked out.
"Let's go see what she wants then!" Her father said as they walked through the front door to see Ruby just at the forest's border.
"STAY AT THE HOUSE OR YOU WILL GET HURT!" Ruby's voice boomed across the yard and she took off her clothes to get ready what she would do.
Yang and Tai were surprised at Ruby so suddenly exposing herself, only for that surprise to vanish as Ruby's distant form started ballooning in size.
Ruby's body swelled while purple light shimmered constantly on her growing dorsal spines. Loud monsterous screaming came from Ruby's morphing jaws when she felt the pain of her body stretching and tearing, the ghastly sound echoing across the entirety of Patch.
Fear and awe adorned Yang and Tai's faces as Ruby's still expanding form went far past the treetops around their home. Her body was covered in black bumpy burnt looking skin that had exposed red patches of flesh on certain area.
Bone's snapping was heard when Ruby's arms locked into place and pointed upward at a 90* angle, sharp cleaver looking claws replaced her much smaller claws. A jagged spike rose from her chest, her thighs and and legs grew to support her now massive frame.
The dorsal plates on her back were now enormous, they were easily the size of a transport bullhead if not greater. Scylla now dwarfed anything except the tallest skyscraper's, running past the forest around their home and nearly reaching a nearby village.
Ruby stood at what Yang guessed to be one hundred twenty meters in height while Scylla had to be a kilometer in length or more...
Screams filled the air when their neighbors had come outside to see what had caused the sudden tremor's, only to see Ruby's monsterous God form standing still near their homes. Clouds of steam hissed in waves off of her body and purple ultraviolet light flickered from her jaws.
Taking a single step forward that nearly covered half the forest's length, Ruby's giant foot impacted the ground with the strength and devastation of an earthquake. The vibrations of the impact knocked Yang and Tai off their feet, making them fall on their asses while their horrified eyes never left Ruby's towering silhouette so high above them.
This...was...the form of a God. A being who could smite the world ablaze if they so desired. Yang knew extremely well just how potent Ruby's atomic beams were, she could feel the phantom pains of the burns she got from being too close to one.
Her arms subconsciously clutched themselves against her chest, the memory of the pain of withstand the heat of that deadly beam. That pain had been caused by Ruby, a girl who she could tell was still suffering, despite any attempts Yang made to alleviate it.
A single one of those beams could level Vale in her human form...so this form must be thousands of times more powerful when Ruby assumes it. Air rushed around them as Ruby took in huge amounts of air into her body, the tree's threatening to uproot themselves from the violent gusts.
Yang and Taiyang used aura enhancement to keep themselves rooted to the ground, looking up at Ruby in horror when they realized what she was about to do. Ruby's lower jaw unfolded while purple light built in her massive throat, readying for a beam of radiation that could annihilate armies in seconds.
Her dorsal plates lit up from her tail up while heading to her mouth in a slow crescendo. Inside her throat was the same ultraviolet light traveling to her mouth.
When the light reached her head...all of hell broke loose.
A high pitched whistle echoed over the land as a vast bright purple beam exploded out of Ruby's mouth into the air. The air shuddered and screamed under the heat of the beam, while Ruby's family could feel the heat of the beam nearly burning them alive.
The beam was over several hundred thousand degrees Celsius, making anything it touched be completely atomized by the sheer heat. Heading far into the bay of Patch, the beam hit the ocean causing a steam explosion similar to a erupting volcano.
Scalding hot water and steam was sent thousands of feet into the air, dousing the island of Patch in a burning hot rain. Yang covered herself in aura and so did her dad, steam bubbled off of Ruby's monsterous form.
Soon Ruby started shrinking back into her human form after her display of God-like power. After five minutes, Ruby was back to her human form and clothed herself again. Even from far away, she could see the fear on her families faces that hurt her heart.
They were utterly terrified of her now. Go figure since she was humanities first world-level based threat, able to wipe entire continents off the map if she wanted to. Slowly walking over to Yang and her father, she felt afraid of what they might do or say to her now.
If they made her leave them forever, nothing would stop her from committing genocide against all that lived. They were the only thing keeping her sane right now, and that were to disappear, everything and everyone would feel her misery tenfold.
That song that Winter had sung while Ruby had been semi-conscious might make them less afraid of her. Stopping before her family and taking a deep, Ruby started singing very softly and slowly.
Sing a beautiful dirge into the comforting dark
Sail on a raft beneath a sea of glimmering star's
Watch the light's twinkle in the sky one by one
Know that soon your journey may be done
Hush now my child and look to the sky
Soar on those beautiful wing's while you can still fly
And Know that hope will never abandon you
Ruby ended the song before trying to walk closer to her family. They appeared hesitant before letting Ruby walk closer to them, the fear still on their faces.
"Are you afraid of me now? Do you hate me now?" Ruby asked meekly with a weak voice, waiting for the answer that might very well make her into a true monster.
"Ruby...do you have any idea just how powerful you are now? I thought you were strong with a single beam in your human form, but that other form...you are damn near a God." Yang's reply made Ruby hesitate in coming any closer, the terror in her tone made Ruby's heart thump painfully.
"Rose petal, you know I used to say your mom was the most powerful person I knew? This is a level of power I never thought I would see in my life. You made a steam eruption that rivaled a volcano with that beam, and I know you will will get more powerful through more evolutions. I want you to promise me one thing." Her father's face was grave and demanding, making Ruby gulped nervously while waiting for him to finish.
"NEVER use that form unless there's a threat the world NEEDS it for. Promise me!" Her father demanded while gripping her forearm from the height difference.
"I promise Dad." Ruby responded before walking slowly to the family vehicle.
Most of her excitement and joy at attending Beacon had vanished when she saw her family was afraid of her. Struggling to fit in the backseat, Ruby hanged Scylla out of the window since she couldn't fit inside the SUV.
Which was weird to see since Scylla could just barely fit through the window. Yang came out to the car with both of their luggage's in her arms, and stowed them in the trunk. Stepping around Scylla who waved around in the air, Yang sat in the front seat of the SUV.
Bumblebee had already been attached to the stand on the back of the SUV, the staff for the airship to Beacon would take it before they lifted off. Their father soon clambered into the drivers seat and started up the dust powered engine.
"You all ready to go Rosebud, Sunny Dragon?" Ruby and Yang nodded their heads at their fathers question. Ruby started absent-mindedly petting Scylla who hung out of the window, her father cast it a glance with a new question in his mind as he started driving.
"Your tail has a mind of it's own right? How does it feel having a limb have a mind of it's own?" Ruby frowned at her father's question as she thought on it, it was rather strange to have a limb with a independent mind wasn't it?
"It's...weird for a lack of a better word. I can know what she's thinking and she with me, she also can function when I'm asleep and attack too." Ruby explained while rubbing her sentient tail with her hand, who waved in the air outside before Ruby felt something hit her tail.
A loud |SQUAWK!| rang out as Ruby winced at what she saw happen to a small red bird Scylla had hit at a high speed.
"Scylla...just killed a bird by hitting it. Wait, fuck I got BIRD BLOOD ON ME NOW!" Ruby screeched in horror when she saw the crimson stain on the tail she had spent so long cleaning in the shower.
"DON'T BRING SCYLLA INSIDE THEN!" Her father yelled while Ruby lowered Scylla to the asphalt road below to burn off the blood with friction.
Giant sparks flew beside the car when Ruby let her tail hit the road, making Yang yelp when she looked in her sideview mirror. The car lurched into the next lane slightly from the friction, making her father swear while righting the vehicle again.
"NO MORE TRYING TO KILL US RUBY ROSE XIAO LONG!" Her father hollered while Ruby had a sheepish face.
Driving across the bridge that connected Patch and Vale, it took them thirty minutes to reach the airship strip that would take them to Beacon. Ruby and Yang grabbed their luggage, and before they could say goodbye to their father, her was already gone yelling about fun time to himself.
"Well...there he goes. Time to get on a bullhead, right Ruby?" Yang said with a frown on her face to Ruby.
"Yeah...let's go to that bullhead on the left." Ruby walked off with her luggage as people finally saw her for the first time, a lot of people began screaming in fear at her appearance since it was very unsettling.
No doubt they thought she was a monster, and they weren't really wrong about that either...
"WHAT IS THAT THING?! SOMEONE CALL A HUNSTMAN!" A girl with brown hair screamed while fleeing away from Ruby's grotesques form.
"DOES ANYONE HAVE A WEAPON TO FIGHT IT?! A man screamed while trying to find something he could use as a weapon.
Ruby felt a stone hit the back of her head, making her heart hurt from seeing so many people scared of her. This would have never happened if she looked the same as before. She had been a short young girl with a admittedly sexy figure for someone her age.
More stones pelted her body with no damage, making her tear up slightly. Ruby did not fight back, that would just prove to them she really is a monster. She didn't want to be this way, who WOULD want to be turned into a monster like her?! The only thing she could do was take all the punishment, even if she didn't deserve a single ounce of it.
Some of the stones were even thrown by the faunas in the crowd, who had possibly experienced a stoning themselves.
Two set's of eyes watched Ruby walked to the airship from a distance, one set a pale icy blue, the other a stunning amber. The icy blue eyes held regret, pity, and sadness in their eyes from the sight. The amber pair held anger, pity, and a desire to beat up those throwing the stones.
Ruby let a single grey tear fall from her eye when she stepped on the bullhead, feeling every bit of the hatred and fear that was being leveled against her. Yang came running after Ruby soon after, having only seen the last part of the stoning from giving their luggage to the staff.
Standing beside the darkest corner of the packed bullhead, Ruby looked out the glass of the bullhead to the city beyond the airstrip. Images of her life being played like a video on the clear surface in her minds eye.
Ruby's life was nothing but a tragedy now. She was cursed to live forever while constantly undergoing evolution after evolution until the stars die and fade away into the void.
She would be...Alone. That was the worst part, she would forever be alone unless she gives someone she loves her blood, something that she would refuse to do unless there was no other choice.
To give someone her curse would be unforgivable, a catastrophic sin in her eyes. If she could, she would just end her suffering, but alas, she can't even do that herself.
Memories of her mother flashed across the glass surface, soon replaced by the image of a freshly dug grave on a cliff. The day her mother died...the pain had never left her. Even seeing her mother again in that dream did little to fill the void left behind, and now she can't even join her mother until untold billions of years passed and the universe itself died with her.
Happier memories passed by on the glass, the day she made a vow to become a huntress like her mother in front of her grave, the day she started training under her uncle Qrow to reach that goal, her first day at signal academy, the day she made her weapon Crescent Rose...which was now lost forever on that island.
Finally that day last week...that day she had rebirthed with a terrible curse and power. The same terrible power that ran in her veins and body could kill every single last person on the bullhead if her control slipped too far.
That orange glow that had ascended high into the heavens was all that Ruby could see, that flash of light that had temporarily robbed her of her sight burning into her eyes. She could never rewind time to prevent the tragedy that had changed her forever, not unless she controlled time itself.
Ruby traced her claws on the glass while the bullhead rocked from taking off. A sharp |Skrrrit!| came from when her claws scratched the glass surface with a shrill cry. Yang finally made it to Ruby, recognizing the look on Ruby's face instantly.
Regret, sadness, hopelessness, rage, and many more all present upon her transformed face. It was the look Ruby had upon seeing their mother's empty coffin being lowered into the damp earth with the echo of gunshots.
Walking slowly over to Ruby's massive bulk, Yang gripped Ruby's arm softly to comfort her. Latching her own clawed hand onto Yang's shoulder, Ruby gripped it softly while Scylla nuzzled her face.
Silence was all that occurred between the two half-siblings, taking the better part of the trip up while comforting each other. After the trip to Beacon had reached its end, Ruby moved towards the ramps that would let her onto Beacon grounds.
Yang followed closely behind Ruby, with Ruby making it easy to approach the doors with how tall and long she was. The crowd parted before her, though not without some shrieks or whispers of fear.
"Why is that thing here?! What the hell even is it?!" One of the many whispers that Ruby could hear said in a hushed tone.
Walking off the bullhead when they had landed, Ruby silently made her way to the grand ballroom where the initiation speech would be made by Ozpin.
Meanwhile Professor Goodwitch was up in a large clockwork tower overlooking Beacon with the headmaster himself. A stack of papers sat in her hand as she studied them, her frown increasing when she looked over several of the thick papers.
"Sir...was it a good idea letting in Miss Rose , Mister Arc, and Miss Belladonna?" She asked quietly while looking at her boss now.
"Only time will tell for now...but I myself do believe it to be so. Even Miss Rose." He stated while looking down through his tower offices glass window to the students far below.
"Miss Rose has been cursed with the same immortality she has, having even been forcibly given a monsterous appearance...but she is no monster like she is." Ozpin looked up from the students walked onto his schools grounds for the first time, turning around to stare at his assistant.
"Miss Rose has maintained her humanity and reason when others would buckle under their own grief, she is so much more human than any one of us. She even still wants to help others even with her curse. A great soul with almost no match." Ozpin got up from his chair, heading to the elevator that let one enter his office.
"Just like her mothers..." Ozpin said before pushing the button to the elevator and leaving his office.
Ruby stood next to Yang in the grand ballroom, feeling the stares and the whispers directed at her. Gripping Yang's shoulder to keep her mind steady, those two eyes from before and a new third pair stared at him unknowingly.
The new pair of eyes was a girl that had rabbit ear's and soft brown hair, she had been the target of prejudice as a faunas for a long as she could remember in her life. To see someone get such blatant prejudice even worse than her made her infuriated. It reminded her of something she realized long ago as she was getting rocks thrown at her as a child, her body being broken and her crimson blood seeping out of her wounds.
"There has never been equality in such a world as ours and never shall be. it is a futile and fleeting hope like that of reaching perfection or living in a true utopia, as long as every sentient being has thoughts, feelings, and experiences that shape them into who they are... Equality will never exist in this cold harsh reality of Grimm fate and pure destiny." The girl knew that she couldn't help now but she would try the next time she saw Ruby, only those who have felt such prejudice can even begin to fathom Ruby's treatment right now.
Ozpin tapped his cane upon the floor three times to silence all those who were talking or whispering, and a hushed silence befell the hall. Taking a long deep and slow breath, he started speaking.
"You have come here to Beacon for a myriad of reason's between you all; fame, fortune, or a simple desire to combat the Grimm to repay loved ones who died... I will say this now all I see is wasted talent that must be nurtured in humanity's next and brightest hope." Ozpin took another breath before his eyes scanned the crowd again, many shifted uncomfortably from his piercing gaze that seemed to show their souls to him.
"Though only those who can bravely bare the strain of keeping watch over everything can be called humanity's truest hope. Hero's are never born but are forged like a phoenix in the flames of combat where all will eventually perish." The student's felt the words wash over them like the freezing river of the Cocytus, cold and harsh but filled with the weight of many souls in a line of those who had gone before.
"The final decision that all are met with is the term's of how they shall die in life. I know that you will realize that to be a huntsman is to dance with death on the corpses of those who you have to protect or kill, you will learn in this school how to combat the force's that plot humanity's downfall be it Grimm or another human." A fire was burning in the old man's eyes as he beheld the soul's of those he had seen slain in his life, the student's slowly realized just what was being expected of them, the sacrifice of their beings and lives to protect that what matters most.
"It is up to you to use what you learn here to be for the benefit of mankind, you will eventually have to watch other's die as they sacrifice themselves in such a line of bloody work, I hope those of you who can understand my word's will know what their decision will be after leaving here." Ozpin walked off stage as professor Goodwitch began handing out sleeping bag's to the students, tonight the first years would sleep in the hall's of beacon to prepare for tomorrow's initiation.
Ruby slept next to Yang as her tail Scylla kept watch over the two sister's. The brown haired girl gazed at them before she went to her dorm room since she was a second year, though another pair of very different people were watching Ruby from afar.
One was a rather stunning Ravennette that wore a black bow on her head. She had been furious when she saw even the faunas be as prejudice against the girl as the human's, the faunas were supposed to be better than the human's who had hurt them!
The other girl was a petite white haired girl with sky blue eyes that held immense remorse in her heart. When she saw the glow of purple come from Ruby she recognized it immediately, she had helped make the weapon that had similar energy for Atlas months before.
She was a prodigy that excelled in physics and mathematics and was brought in to help create the weapon, she hated that she helped create it since it could end the world if used wrongly by the power hungry men in Atlas. It seemed the girl had been either caught up in the test blast or deliberately used as a test subject for the weapon's capabilities.
The light's went out and darkness fell upon the student's that felt oppressive in nature, the only light came from Ruby as he body emitted a very faint purple glow from her dorsal plates. All fell asleep to prepare for a bloody initiation tomorrow.
Annnnnd that's it!
