For all of you who are reading this message now, this text has been written after a decision I made to overhaul a majority of this book.

At the time I'm writing this, I find it lacking to my standards, and now I am currently writing it anew.

I hope yall will like this newer version.

The sound of a train horn blasted through the snowy tundra mountains, the extreme loudness of it made most nearby wildlife flee far away from the roaring machine. Soon the train came into view speeding down a set of steel tracks high in the mountaintops.

The dust engine groaned against the chilly wind buffeting the massive vehicle and the series of alps it currently traveled along. Steam and smoke billowed out of the exhaust of the train, the water forming the steam cooling off the combustion dust within the engine housing.

There was something odd about the trains cargo, though...a large and heavy bomb was strapped to a open cart halfway down the carts, the weapon was surrounded by two dozen military personnel standing ready beside it.

Each of these personnel was armed with a large caliber gun in their hands, side arms of various makes and models were strapped to their hips, the latter for human combatants in all likelihood.

With the sheer size of it's escort, the bomb was no doubt, very important. How important? One could not say without the knowledge of what the weapon was capable of. These men and women clearly they had to protect the bomb at all costs.

Two of the male personnel were towards the left side of the open bay, quietly talking to each other while eyeing the area around the train for any potential hostiles or ambushes.

"Hey Onyx, what's so special about this bomb that it takes two black op teams to protect?" A large burly man with brown hair and bright green eyes asked his partner, his eyes constantly traveling back to the item they had to protect in this freezing blizzard.

"From what I've heard coming down the channels, it's got enough power in it to blow this entire mountain straight to hell and back." Beside him, the younger man with blonde hair and grey eyes answered back to the older man.

"You gotta be shitting me! not even the most volatile dust has that kind of power!" Shivers wormed their way down the mans spine when he gave a quick glance at the bomb, the dread of being next to such a weapon sinking it's teeth into him.

"It's not powered by dust of any kind that I know of. It's got something a helluva lot more dangerous in it." To both of the men, the biting wind no longer held any chill compared to the thought of what happened if the cargo suddenly malfunctioned.

"They split something called an atom in half and created the weapon that you may have heard about on the media. That explosion on the island a few hours off of Patch? That was the first of these bombs." Onyx explained while Jade recalled the video that had been leaked of the blast, the yield had been devastating.

Every inch of the island had been purged of life by the shockwave and fire. Though he had heard rumors across the military channels that somehow a human had been exposed in the blast. Nothing had been confirmed by the General, but if someone had been caught in such a blast...

Jade would pity whatever soul had survived such an ordeal. What concerned him more at this minute though, was that another one of these bombs was not even five feet behind him.

"We gotta protect this then, otherwise we are all dead in a second..." Jade said with a Grimm look on his face, not expecting to have been guarding something that could level islands.

"GRIMM INCOMING AT FIVE O'CLOCK! NEVERMORES!" One of the other sentries called out from the duo's right.

Checking his weapon and flicking off the safety, Jade got ready to unload hell upon the Grimm. Another shout came from the same sentry as before.

"WAIT! THEIR...breaking away?" Sure enough as the sentry said, the Nevermore's were breaking away while squawking and shrieking in what seemed to be...alarm?

Nevermore's could get to be some of the biggest Grimm, and that flock had at least one or two ancient Nevermore's in its ranks. Grimm were well known for never backing down either, even the older ones tend to never really flee from a fight.

Yet...something had spoked the Grimm ravens into fleeing.

Nothing could be heard against the Grimm's cries and the howling of the bitter cold wind, making Jade start to sweat nervously from the fact that something was wrong. He could feel it in his gut, something terrible was about to happen.

A low rumble echoed through the area, sounding close to a avalanche of rocks tumbling down a ravine. That didn't make sense, though, there was only snow on these mountaintops for miles and miles...

Snow avalanches and rock avalanches sounded distinctly different, enough to be able to discern the two if you knew what each sounded like. Most Atlesians knew what the former sounded like, but the latter was more of a Mistralian event, but Jade had seen and heard both in his life.

Out of nowhere a shockwave hit the train and made the bomb's escort's auras flicker into life. The train started slowing down quickly, leaving the men and women onboard to get nervous.

"EMP BLAST! THE DUST ENGINE IS OUT!" The train operator shouted from the trains front, making every armed member raise their loaded weapons.

The suspense of waiting for the attack made the air tense with the stress and hyper focus of the guards, nothing came right away, though. Three minutes, four minutes, five minutes had passed with no attack towards them.

No one was relaxing though, this situation was far to strange to lower their guard already. First Grimm come near the train and then leave in a panic, then a EMP blast hit them and left them little more than sitting ducks...

'I don't like this at all...' Jade thought with apprehension while scanning the area with his night vision, he thought he could make out something moving in the air just beyond the clouds to their three o'clock.

"I THINK I SEE SOMETHING AT THREE O'CLOCK!" Jade called out with his fellow guards looking towards where he called out.

A dark shape seemed to be getting closer, with the thing being the size of...

"Oh great Oum help us all...FIRE! FIRE AT WILL!" The commander yelled when they got a full view of the thing heading at them.

It was MASSIVE! easily the size of several hundred feet. It's giant metallic wing's flapping through the dense snow at them, making the air shudder and snow evaporate with every gust of air they produced. It's multiple eyes on each side of it's head were red, sprouting from it's body were giant hooked tipped legs, and it had six legs at that.

Two back legs, two front legs, and a small pair up near its chest. The visible skin was a matte black and steel gray, and the entire body looked armored. Giant mandibles made up its mouth that let loose a discordant roar when it came at them.

A hail fire of dust bullets erupted from the trains protectors towards the beast, hitting its face and doing...nothing to it. Jade felt like an ant against this thing, he didn't even come up halfway up its toenail.

This was...a true titan. Several of the the guards panicked when their entire magazine was unloaded into it and did nothing, making screams of pure fear when it was within a hundred meters of the train.

Those red eyes looked at the bomb with hunger, its mandible mouth slavering from being radiation starved. Jade's aura and eardrums shattered when the thing roared close to the train, winds buffeted them from its wings when it came to be thirty meters from them.

Jade let out a small smile when the beast raised its left forelimb to strike the train.

'Well looks like I won't be coming home again, my little Jewel..."Jade thought in his mind when one of the beasts giant forelimbs crashed into the train where he stood.

Fire engulfed all there was for miles around.

Ruby Rose shot awake from the dream she was having, the sweat on her body turning to bursts of steam from her temperature. That dream had been far too real for her liking, the giant monster that looked eerily similar to what her other form looked like.

Shaking herself awake to get rid of that last image in her dream, the beast's raised forelimb that destroyed the train in an explosion of fire that brought up the worse memories of her life. Phantom pain coursed through the horrid body she had now, that pain so much worse than what she usually dealt with, for it from the time of her rebirth,

Getting up from the floor with blinking violet color from her dorsal plates bathing the other sleeping students, Ruby quietly made her way away from Yang, who was still sleeping, to the cafeteria on the opposite side of Beacon's massive campus.

Her internal clock and the soft blue light of the sky outside told her it was about 4:00am, still many hours from the Beacon initiation, but not early enough for her to not get some breakfast, though. Maybe some fish? She had started like any type of aquatic creature to eat since she was now semi-aquatic.

Not that she needed to eat anymore besides for pleasure. With the energy her heart produces and distributes through her body, makes the need for energy from metabolizing food obsolete. Her heart really gives her more energy than her body can contain at times, that being the main reason she overheats so much and so often.

The gills on her neck proved that she was semi-aquatic very well too, she had gotten a few stares at them during the times the skin and flesh flapped open. She could sit at the bottom of the ocean and be fine in both her human and God form with them.

For now though, it was time for a very early breakfast. Ruby walked through the deserted halls, her heavy clawed feet scrapping the floor with every step. That dream had shaken her fully awake while she wondered if it was a vision of something that had just happened...

Walking into the very sparsely populated cafeteria due to the early hours, Ruby tried to seem less menacing to the staff when she walked up to the counter.

"I need three whole fish, uncooked if you don't mind." Ruby asked the lady who was working the counter.

The lunch lady seemed surprised by the request and who had made it. Her brown eyes raked over Ruby and studied her, no doubt wondering what the hell Ruby was.

"Wait here a moment." The lunch lady replied before walking through the doors behind her into the kitchen.

While she waited, Ruby scanned her eyes over the five students in the cafeteria. She seemed to be the only first year awake, since these other students were older than her for sure. Ruby's eyes were drawn to a adorable rabbit faunas sitting at the table nearest her.

'I hope she won't mind if I sit with her after I get my food...' Ruby thought before her attention went back to the lunch lady who had a tray with three fresh uncooked Salmon laying on it.

Ruby licked her lipless mouth in anticipation of the food, she was going to enjoy eating it whole. Taking the tray from the lady's hands, Ruby made her way to sit across from the rabbit faunas. The faunas girl didn't seem to notice Ruby at first, rather being interested in something on her scroll.

"You don't mind if I sit here?" Ruby's voice tore the girl out of her thoughts, her eyes glanced upward at Ruby's enormous towering figure looming over her.

"UM! I don't mind!" The girl squeaked in no small bit of fear with how Ruby looked.

She had seen Ruby from afar before, but being this close really put Ruby's appearance into perspective. She was colossal at 8 feet tall from head to toe, behind Ruby, her gigantic tall wreathed in the air far above her head. That tail appeared to be thirteen feet long according to the girl's rough estimates using Ruby as a solid basis.

Ruby's skin was either; jet black, bumpy, and burnt looking or a deathly pale white. Sharp and jagged spikes rose out of her spine, her tail ended in a flower like appendage that might be a mouth, and she had no lips upon her face whatsoever.

Long greyish red hair dangled down to Ruby's lower back. Vicious and deadly claws had replaced her fingers and toes. Large red rings appeared on quite a few places on her skin and her silver iris's were unnaturally large.

All in all, Ruby's appalling visage made the girl shiver in fear of Ruby. The girl gulped nervously when Ruby sat down on the table bench and nearly crushed it under her weight. Ruby didn't notice the fearful Faunus, for she took one of the raw fish on her plate and lifted it above her head.

The rabbit faunas looked both disgusted and intrigued when Ruby's bottom jaw splayed out and she dropped the fish down her throat. It took a single loud gulp for Ruby to get the fish down, she made a sigh when she felt her body digest the food in seconds.

'Umm excuse me, but are you a faunas?" The girl asked curiously to Ruby, who gave a loud snort to the question.

"Nope, nor am I human anymore either. Not when I can produce beams of power that can level Vale by myself..." Purple light flickered off of Ruby's dorsal plates, a small fire burned in her silver eyes that radiated primal power.

The rabbit girls eyes widened when she felt the aura emanating off of Ruby, the sheer power in it filled the air. The words Ruby said made her think of the purple beam that had passed over her teams heads last week in Vale.

'Don't tell me this girl made that beam appear?!' The girl thought in horror and awe, looking at Ruby when the younger and bigger girl started speaking again.

"Since I've become this way, I have been called many things. Monster, Abomination, Devil, and a God. All titles do fit me, especially the last one with how powerful I am. If I truly wanted to, Vale would be a sea of ash by the end of the day, and nothing even Atlas has can stop me." Ruby's fire in her eyes died a little when she saw how afraid the older girl was, her display of power probably being too much.

"I wasn't always this way. I only became what I am after I was at ground zero for the Atlas bomb test. That day changed my life and the future of this world more than anyone would ever know then..." Ruby trailed off as that orange flash of the bomb took over her mind again, her claws tightened on the table and a loud deep growl escaped her mouth.

The growl thundered over the cafeteria, making the tables rattle from the deep frequency. The older girl was now more afraid than ever of Ruby.

"That day I died over a hundred times in agony that eclipsed anything I have ever felt, and I can still feel that agony even now in my body. Every single cell of my body splits and mutates at a rate that makes me evolve at a rate of thousands to millions of years a second. I don't need to eat anymore and soon I won't need to breathe." Ruby's tail Scylla waved behind and above her head, swaying like a snake with a occasional steam burst exiting its mouth.

"Energy runs in my veins and blood that can kill everyone in this campus if I let too much out at one time. You will likely see the result of when I produce too much energy soon..." Ruby the conversation on a ominous note, instead focusing on devouring the fish sitting on her tray.

Both of the fish left on her tray were swallowed whole by Ruby. The rabbit girl shivered each time Ruby's lower jaw unfolded out. Purple light shimmered off of Ruby at irregular intervals, that soon seemed to be growing into a single pattern.

'Shit! I'm starting to overheat!' Ruby thought in a panic when dense scalding mist started trailing off of her body.

Ruby quickly stood up from the table with the now startled girl, rushing away to where the courtyard was in a hurry. This was bad! Ruby didn't know if she would make it outside, the heat was building far too quickly.

She could feel her blood start to burn from the excess atomic energy in her body. The dense hot mist coming off of her body was filling the entire hallway, making Ruby panic even more at the thought of releasing her beams while still inside the school.

The amount of damage that would cause would be catastrophic! With the heat of her beams, everything in its path would be atomized, every single bit of it vaporized into nothingness. It would be even worse if someone was nearby, they would be cooked to death!

When Yang got to close to Ruby during Ruby's rampage, she only survived being close to the atomic beam because her aura was adapted to extreme heat from her semblance, anyone else would start to melt alive!

Knowing just how painful it is to melt alive, Ruby refused to let anybody endure what she had. She could still remember the feeling of having her flesh slough off her body, only for it to rejoin her body and evolve to endure her blazing internal temperature.

She had to make a split second decision on whether to try to hold out or break through the wall to her left and avoid collapsing the building with her beams. Ruby choose the latter and slammed herself through the nearest wall that lead outside.

Rubble flew from her collision and a loud intense |CRASH!| echoed through the campus. Stone dust and chunks of drywall fell off of Ruby and hit the ground glowing red hot. Ruby started panting from the stress of holding in more atomic energy than her body could handle for right now.

Leaning down close to the ground, Ruby concentrated her atomic energy into the dorsal plates coming out of her spine. Ultraviolet light from the dorsal plates solidified into a single continuous glow, reaching a peak ten seconds after Ruby had concentrated her energy.

Beams of several hundred thousand degrees Celsius erupted from her back, going far into the sky and exiting the planets stratosphere. A high pitched whistle roared into the chilly morning air, making every faunas student with animals ears scream in pain from the agonizing sound.

The entire campus of Beacon was lit up by the beams of energy Ruby had made, everything bathed in a deep royal purple. Screams came from the students who were awake to see Ruby's display of power, the afterimage of the beams burned into their eyes and minds.

Screams came from the students who were awake to see Ruby's display of power, the afterimage of the beams burned into their eyes and minds

Ruby let out a pained roar after her beams had shut off, her body felt like it had been injected with lava. Falling to her knees, she started panting from the forced release of the energy in her body.

Footsteps soon came rushing towards Ruby with her radar showing her it was Yang and professor Ozpin.

"RUBY! ARE YOU OKAY?!" Yang shouted while getting close to Ruby, but not close enough to get burned.

"I'm fine Yang, just a little worn down now..." Ruby answered back before looking at Ozpin.

"I'm guessing this is what happens when you overheat." It wasn't a question, but rather just a statement made by Ozpin.

"I think it's best that I show you your dorm, so you can cool off in the pool." Ozpin turned around and walked away with Ruby getting up slowly and following him.

"Miss Xiao Long, it might be best for you to return to the ballroom and rest. Miss Rose will be fine now." Ozpin explained when Yang tried to follow them.

Yang just gave a loud sigh and turned to walk back to where she came from. She gave Ruby a quick glance when she went back into the hall that led to the ballroom.

"I must say Miss Rose, seeing those beams up close was far more terrifying than I expected." Ozpin stated without looking at Ruby, who could smell the small scent of fear coming off of him.

He lead her to a door taller than the other ones around it, made likely just to fit her size. Walking into the door showed it was much bigger than what the other dorms likely were. Towards the far left corner was the pool of water she had asked for.

Ruby quickly made her way to it and submerged her body with a blissful sigh, feeling her gills enjoy the water going through them. She had to let water run through them once a day so they wouldn't dry out.

When her gills dried out, it was painful and uncomfortable. Ruby lifted her head above the water to see if Ozpin needed anything from her again.

"I will send one of the teachers to collect you twenty minutes before the initiation, until then stay here and try to not overheat again." Ozpin left the room soon after and Ruby sank down into the bottom of the pool.

It was nice being in a cool body of water again, it made Ruby feel a lot more comfortable. The chill of the water and the feeling of water being pushed through her gills. She felt some sort of wave system kick on after a few minutes of staying in the pool, making her gills feel even better with the moving water.

'I guess one of the good things that happened was being able to relax in water like this...' Ruby yawned a bit since she woke up much earlier than she really wanted too.

It was around 5:30 in the morning, so she had about four more hours to sleep until she had to get ready for the initiation. Flicking her inner eye membrane over her eyes, Ruby slowly fell asleep with the gentle rocking motion of the pool.
