Hey everyone, here's the next chapter of Pokemon Retold. Not gonna lie, I almost forgot to post this, cause I've been busy with stuff. Lol
Either way, I hope you all enjoy.
XXXX
"Looks like we should be getting closer to Vermillion City now," Brock mused as they were once again on the road TRYING to find their way to Vermillion City.
"Getting closer is better than nothing," Misty sighed before frowning as she looked to the sky. "Guess we're gonna have to rough it out again tonight…"
"Let's try to see if we can find anything first, then we'll set up camp. I think the forest might be ending up ahead," Ash said, before running forward, Pikachu chasing running after him with just as much energy, while Misty, Brock, and Charmander shared a look, before smiling a little wryly at their enthusiasm. The two of them continued running till they soon found themselves at the end of the forest but…
"...we took a wrong turn again, didn't we?" Ash deadpanned.
"Piii…" Pikachu sweat dropped, as before them was...the ocean. Oh it was a beautiful sight, one they could appreciate once they got over the moment of annoyance at them being once again misdirected.
"Well, at least the view is nice," Ash mused as they looked out at the waves, Pikachu nodding in agreement...until he noticed something move in front of them and pointed it out to Ash.
Ash looked down and saw a rather small Krabby crawling past them, the small Pokemon crawling right past them. Ash and Pikachu then shared a look before shrugging, Ash taking out his Pokedex to scan the Krabby. "Krabby, the River Crab Pokemon. Krabby is a Water-type Pokemon native to the Kanto Region. Krabby live around lakesides and beaches. If the claws of a Krabby break, they are able to grow them back in time."
"Ready, buddy?" Ash asked, Pikachu nodding as he stood at the ready, Krabby quickly getting the message and soon was at the ready as well, immediately using Bubble, forcing Pikachu back a bit, but not for long. "Quick Attack!" Ash ordered, Pikachu obeying and slammed into Krabby, knocking it back, but it wasn't enough as Krabby tried to counter with Vice Grip...only for Pikachu to prove too fast and thus managed to evade the attack. "Thundershock!" Ash added quickly, Pikachu firing the attack from near point blank and well…
Krabby was seeing stars now as it tipped over thanks to the shock, allowing Ash to grab a Pokeball and throw it, capturing Krabby soon enough. "Welcome to the team, Krabby," Ash chuckled as he picked Krabby's Pokeball up and it soon vanished back to Professor Oak's Lab.
"You sure didn't waste time catching that one," came Brock's amused voice as he and Misty and Charmander finally caught up.
"Well, it's not everyday I find a Pokemon by the beach," Ash chuckled a bit. "Speaking of which, once again it seems our sense of direction is off," he sighed.
"Well I guess it could be worse. I mean, it just means we took a slight detour. Vermillion City should be to the south," Misty sweat dropped.
"And at least the beach is nice so there's that," Brock mused. "Guess we'll be camping in the woods again since we have to turn around."
However, right as he said that, Charmander pulled at his pants leg, catching his attention and by extension, Ash and Misty's as well. "What's wrong, Charmander?" they asked, to which Charmander pointed in a direction, straight towards a lighthouse that was built on a cliffside overlooking the beach with what appeared to be a sizable building/mansion attached to it.
"Wow...there's something you don't see everyday," Ash blinked, while Pikachu let out a 'Piii…' of agreement. As the group looked at the structure, Misty noticed the sky...namely the gathering clouds.
"Uh oh. Looks like it's going to rain soon," she said. "Think we can make it to that mansion before the rain starts? With luck maybe they'll let us stay until the rain stops."
"Only one way to find out, but we'd better hurry," Brock said as the group quickly started running.
XXXX
The path to the lighthouse was sizable but they managed to reach it right as the rain started, and managed to take some refuge at the large portico that covered the entrance to the building, and what a door it was. It was an old looking door which appeared to have various carvings of Pokemon etched into it.
"Wow, whoever lives here has some interesting taste in design," Misty blinked. The door itself wasn't a bad design, but it was definitely...unorthodox.
"Well, here's an intercom box, so I guess we might as well," Ash said as he went over to the box by the door and pressed the button, causing a rather loud doorbell that sounded almost like a church bell to ring through the air, causing the group to jump in surprise a bit. "That DEFINITELY got whoever lives here's attention," he sweat dropped.
"Hello? Who is it?" a voice called from the intercom, sounding like that of a young man with a rather gentlemanly tone.
"Sorry to bother you, but we're travelers and we happened to see this lighthouse. We were hoping we could stay here at least until the rain stops. If you'd like I could even cook up something as thanks," Brock said into the intercom.
"It's no trouble at all, I'd be happy to let you stay the night even," the voice said. "If anything you coming here is quite fortunate, so please. Come right in." At that the door creaked and slowly opened by itself, revealing that the inside was rather darkly lit, but not overly so. Understandably a little apprehensive of the choice of welcome, the group hesitated a bit, but eventually went in, the door closing slowly behind them.
"It's...kinda dark in here," Misty frowned.
"I apologize for that. Part of some work I was looking into recently required minimal lighting. I just hadn't switched the lights on due to my current predicament," the voice said, signaling that he was at the very least in the same room...which didn't help much as the room felt QUITE big.
"Predicament? Are you in trouble with something?" Ash blinked at the choice of words.
"Well, less in trouble and more stuck," the voice sighed. However, before he could elaborate further a nearby phone started ringing. "Oh dear. Could you please pick that up for me first? I completely forgot earlier that I was expecting a call from Professor Oak today.."
"Professor Oak? Sure thing," Ash nodded as he went over to the Bellsprout shaped phone attached to a computer and picked up the call.
"Hello? Terribly sorry about the late call, Bill. Something came up that made me almost forget," came Professor Oak's voice as the screen on the side came on to show the Arcanine...preparing some hot pot from the looks of it.
"Uh...okay, but is Bill the person living here?" Ash asked, blinking in surprise. It was at that moment that Professor Oak noticed who he was talking to.
"Ash? Well now, that's quite a surprise. I'd called since I had promised to go over some research notes with Bill, but to think you'd found your way to his Lighthouse. What are the odds?" he chuckled.
"Apologies, Professor Oak, but I'm a bit unable to take this call at the moment. If it's not too much trouble perhaps we can reschedule?" the voice, Bill, said.
"Is that so?" Professor Oak frowned, before shrugging. "That's fine. I have nothing that needs my immediate attention tomorrow if that's alright with you."
"That works well, yes. If anything I should be apologizing for going ahead with this experiment while my assistants were home for the night," Bill said sheepishly.
"It's no problem. Happens to the best of us," Oak chuckled.
"Like right now?" Ash couldn't help but jab jokingly, looking at the hotpot.
Professor Oak had the decency to cough sheepishly at that. "Well, not to sound like I'm deflecting the blame, but you and Gary had a hand in this. After both of you happened to send me Krabby at the same time I had a craving for a little crab hot pot," he chuckled lightly.
"Gary caught a Krabby too?" Ash blinked in surprise, less at how Gary caught a Krabby as well and more how they apparently got one at the same time.
"Oh yes, take a look," Professor Oak said, shifting the camera to allow him to see two Krabby sitting in their own tanks...and he saw that the one that Gary (judging by the small picture of him stuck on the side of the tank) caught was about 3 to 4 times the size of the one he caught.
"...yeah, I DID think Krabby looked a little small," Ash sweat dropped, though he DID feel a little miffed that Gary beat him in this part even without intending to. Oh well, there was always the Pokemon League.
"At any rate, it's quite a funny coincidence that you found your way to Bill's Lighthouse when I was going to make a call," Professor Oak chuckled.
"So Bill's the guy we've been kinda talking to?" Ash asked, feeling like the name was familiar somehow.
"Why yes. He's a fellow Pokemon Researcher and I do believe I've mentioned him before," Professor Oak said. "Though most Trainers probably know him better as the person who helped develop the Pokemon Transport System."
"Wait, you're THAT Bill?!" Brock gasped in surprise.
"Why yes, that's me," Bill chuckled.
"I imagine you'll be able to learn a lot from him, so I won't keep you. Besides, the food's just about ready. I look forward to hearing from you again," Professor Oak chuckled as he soon ended the call.
"Well now, if it's a request from Professor Oak, how could I possibly refuse," Bill chuckled as the lights soon came on. "I know it's a little late, but I am Bill. Welcome to my lighthouse AND laboratory," Bill said, and now they could see the room they were in. It was a sizable room, albeit not as big as the darkness made it out to be. It seemed to be an entrance hall of some kind with ornate (and rather ancient looking) carvings of Pokemon along the walls and pillars, with doors leading to other rooms towards the end of the entrance hall. However, what REALLY caught their attention was the small set of stairs that led up to a throne of some kind, and at the throne was what appeared to be a Kabuto.
"A Kabuto?" the group and the Pokemon with them blinked, not sure what to make of this.
"Not exactly," Bill's voice said, coming from the Kabuto. "This is actually a costume I'm using as part of my research, but well…" he trailed off as he tried to move the arms, trying to reach for something. "These arms are too short so I can't reach the release button," he admitted a bit sheepishly.
The trio blinked at that as Ash went up to him and found the Button in question. "I'm no scientist, but I'm PRETTY sure this is the kind of stuff you shouldn't do when nobody is around," he sweat dropped as he went to press the button.
"Believe me, I was fully expecting to get chewed out by my assistants for this. Still it's better than being stuck for Arceus knows how long in a Kabuto suit," Bill sweat dropped as Ash pushed the button and with a small burst of steam, the costume came apart, releasing Bill.
Taking a moment to get the kinks out of his body, Bill slowly stood up straight. "Thank you, I've been stuck in there for hours," he said, seeing as he had not only been stuck in there, but he'd been in a less than comfortable position to boot. Now that he was standing up properly, the group could get a good look at him. He was an Eevee Pokemorph, but not just any Eevee. His fur was a more silverish white color than the average Eevee, showing that he was a Shiny Pokemorph. He had wavy green hair on his head that was kept in a rather neat fashion which went well with the rather classy outfit of a three piece suit of sorts and a cravat at his neck, though it was slightly covered by some of his natural fur collar, while his tail wagged happily behind him, no doubt from sheer relief of being out of the suit.
"I've never heard of using a costume to do research. What kind of research were you doing?" Misty asked curiously.
"It's not exactly an orthodox type of research, but by using this rather realistic costume, I wanted to shall we say 'experience life' in the way a Kabuto would. I wanted to understand how they would have and do feel. In fact, I'd been working on similar suits for other prehistoric Pokemon," he explained.
"Can you really understand how they feel using a costume?" Brock asked with an interested expression.
"Maybe, maybe not. I certainly feel like I can though," Bill said, before sitting down a bit. "This planet has existed for over 4 billion years. During that time countless life forms have appeared on this world, all with their own thoughts and feelings. In other words, all of us are part of a story that has spanned billions of years, and hopefully will continue on for much longer," Bill said.
"That's...a really big story," Ash gulped a bit as the group pondered Bill's words.
"It is, but it just shows that all of us, Pokemorphs, Pokemon, and animals are all connected as children of this planet," Bill continued. "As of currently, there are hundreds of known species of Pokemon, but with more being discovered as time goes on it won't be long before that number may well be over a thousand," he said, as he snapped his fingers, the room darkening and images of various Pokemon appeared throughout the room via a central projector that descended from the middle of the room, the group and the Pokemon with them looking around in wonder at the sight of the many Pokemon. "A lot of said discoveries were actually found by travelers like yourselves, be they Pokemon Trainers or otherwise," he said before turning to them. "Perhaps in your own travels you too will have such encounters. If that's the case, I do hope you'll cherish those encounters," he smiled.
"I'm feeling kinda daunted just thinking about how many Pokemon there are. I haven't even caught a tenth of the Pokemon species that live in Kanto…" Ash gulped a bit, as seeing the sheer number of Pokemon species right there made him feel rather small, a sentiment Misty and Brock were sharing too judging by their expressions.
"There's no need to rush. You're still just beginning from what I can tell," Bill chuckled. "But what's more important than trying to catch Pokemon, is looking for what we can learn from them and from each other," he said. "This world is vast, and as long as you're open to it, I'm sure you will find something new to learn every step of your journey, and that may well be the most important thing you could gain on your journey," Bill said as he got up and walked down the steps smiling at the various images. "All of us live on this planet alongside each other, for we are all children of this planet, and as such all of us have a part in the grand story of this world. Every Pokemon and Pokemorph, no matter how large or small, weak or strong, has a meaning for their existence, we just need to look inside ourselves and inside each other," he smiled, before turning to them and adding in a joking tone, "Though please refrain from taking that too literally."
That got them to chuckle a bit, easing the tension they had been feeling a bit since his words held a LOT of weight. "With all the research you're doing you must have discovered plenty of Pokemon yourself too," Misty spoke up.
"A few here and there yes," Bill nodded. "But right now, I'm looking into a particular Pokemon."
"What kind of Pokemon are you looking into?" Ash asked with interest. At that Bill beckoned for them to follow him as the lights came back on and the projections ended.
XXXX
A short while later the group was gathered at the top of the lighthouse, specifically in the lantern room that had been interestingly designed. The room itself had the revolving light in the center like any other lighthouse. The difference was that the light was raised upwards by a pedestal-like structure in the center, while the room itself was lower than most, and thus housed several electronic devices from computer screens to what looked like audio devices.
"I'll admit I'm not exactly sure what the Pokemon is or what it looks like, but if my estimations are accurate, it could very well be one of the largest Pokemon species ever," Bill said. "From what I've deciphered from the calls that I've recorded ever since I became aware of its existence, this Pokemon seems to have been roaming the world, perhaps looking for companions."
"Looking for companions? Doesn't it have others of its kind?" Brock asked, to which Bill shook his head sadly.
"From what I can tell, no it doesn't. Perhaps it's a rare species of Pokemon and thus only few of its kind exist, or perhaps it's the last of its kind. All I know is that it's out there, and I hope to find it," Bill explained as he switched on a recording, one that let loose an odd sound but one that was unmistakably a call of some kind.
"What's it trying to say?" Ash asked, not expecting an answer, but you never know.
"It might just be my conjecture, but...I want to meet you. That's what I feel it's trying to say," Bill said. "That's why I recently recorded a similar sound and have been playing it out over the ocean. It's my hope that eventually I'll get a response, meaning the Pokemon will come here."
The group blinked, not fully sure what to say to that...until the sound of stomachs rumbling was heard. "...perhaps we should table this conversation for later. I look forward to seeing your skills in the kitchen," Bill chuckled.
"I aim to impress," Brock chuckled as well.
XXXX
As the group went down to have dinner, as it turns out the beach wasn't as empty as it seemed.
"So this is the Lighthouse of the renowned Bill," Jessie mused as she, James, and Meowth were spying on the Lighthouse.
"Kind of a strange place for someone like that to live, don't you think?" James frowned.
"Well Bill is known for being kinda eccentric," Meowth chuckled. "So, now that we've found the place, what's the plan?"
"Shouldn't it be obvious? A renowned researcher MUST have something of value, be it rare Pokemon, or even research on Pokemon that might be useful," Jessie said.
"And when there's something valuable like that, it's only natural we'll see if we can't put it to good use," James chuckled.
"Great idea. Only one little problem: how are we gonna get in there?" Meowth pointed out. "The only way in from where I'm seein is through the front door or up the cliff."
That made them pause. "Well...the easiest way WOULD be the front door, but...would he actually just open his doors for anyone?" James frowned.
"We could sneak in, but then that's assuming he doesn't have some kind of security system set up," Jessie frowned, before both of them sighed. "I guess we have no choice."
"Right...the cliffside it is," Meowth groaned. This was gonna suck.
XXXX
Back inside of the lighthouse, the group had finished with dinner.
"My compliments to your skills as a chef. If you weren't on a journey I'd be tempted to hire you," Bill chuckled.
"Why thank you. I'm glad to know you like it so much," Brock chuckled.
"As thanks for the meal and helping me out of that suit, why don't you all stay here for the night? I have more than enough spare rooms, and the mist seems to be building up tonight. It wouldn't be ideal for travelling," Bill offered.
"Oh, we wouldn't want to im-," Ash started, but Misty elbowed him, cutting him off.
"We'd really appreciate that," she smiled, taking the offer. She'd quite like to have a bed to sleep in thank you very much.
Bill chuckled lightly with a sweat drop at the exchange, but nodded all the same. "Follow me then," he said as he soon showed them to the guest rooms. The rooms in question were comfortably furnished, with a single bed and a table with a lamp. Overall nothing much, but it definitely beat sleeping outside...a sentiment that rang true even more when the wind started to pick up.
"Wow, guess it's a good thing we took up the offer," Brock couldn't help but say as it started to rain, the three of them in one of the rooms that Bill was lending them for the night, Bill himself having gone back to his lab to
"Yeah, or we'd be stuck in the rain," Misty said, looking a little smug, which earned a small snort from Ash.
"Thanks for stopping me then," he said with a playful glare, to which the three chuckled a bit. "Well, since we're not going anywhere till the morning, we might as well get ready for bed."
"Yeah, we'll be on our way in the morning," Brock nodded.
"Though no big hurry. I dunno about you two, but I'm gonna enjoy having a room and bed," Misty chuckled.
"A shower or bath IS pretty nice," Ash conceded, Pikachu chuckling at that one, though Charmander didn't really agree cause Fire-type. Either way, the group bid each other goodnight, before going to the rooms they'd respectively picked out, Charmander choosing to follow Ash as he entered the room to the left of the room they had just been in.
Through the window in the room he could see the rain pouring outside. "Wow, glad we're not out there, huh?" he mused as he put down his things, taking off his jacket, gloves, and hat, and then sitting down on the bed a bit, Pikachu and Charmander nodded in agreement. They'd hate to be whoever might be out there in this weather.
XXXX
"Hang on!" James shouted as he, Jessie, and Meowth were holding on for dear life on the rope they were using. They'd tried scaling the cliffside and had some equipment on hand to help them do it. Things had been going well at first, until the rain started and then the storm picked up. At first the group tried to power through the storm...but that proved to be a big mistake, as the rocks became slippery and added with the winds, they soon lost their grip, and now only the last rope they'd managed to secure to the cliffside was keeping them from falling down.
"Don't need to tell us twice!" Meowth said through gritted teeth...before the winds picked up, blowing them around.
"If this is someone's idea of a joke, it's not funny!" Jessie shouted...before a particularly strong blast of wind swung them hard enough that their weight and the momentum...yanked the hook they were using to keep the rope anchored off of the cliff...sending them plummeting down, all three of them hugging each other and screaming...before landing in a splash. It seemed the momentum had caused them to sail just shy of the rocks and land right into the ocean shallows, allowing them to quickly scramble back on to land soaking wet.
XXXX
Misty sighed as she lowered herself into the warm water till she was submerged up to her neck. Apparently Bill had bothered to actually make the individual rooms comfortable without being overly so, probably for when he had long term guests. Whatever the case, she was enjoying the chance to have a nice hot bath, something that felt even better as she idly saw the storm pick up outside. Smiling a bit to herself she soon lowered herself till she was fully submerged, relishing in the fact she's a Water-type meaning she could literally sleep in the tub if she wanted and never have to worry about drowning.
"This is the best…" she sighed happily while underwater. She was able to rough it out as much as the next Fighter, but she'd never pass up a good chance for a taste of civilization. "I'm so glad we found this Lighthouse," she chuckled, as she continued to enjoy herself in the nice warm water.
XXXX
The Rocket Trio were shivering as they did their best to try to get cover from the rain under some rocks, not helped by being soaked, so much so they had to resort to using Jessie's flames to try and keep warm. The problem was that in a storm like this and after the dip into the ocean...her flames really weren't doing so well against the storm…
"M-M-Maybe this w-wasn't s-s-such a good idea a-after all…" Meowth shivered.
"We'll m-make it through!" Jessie grit her teeth.
"At least we h-have each o-other," James shivered as well the three huddling for warmth.
XXXX
Brock smiled a bit as he double checked the supplies. So far it seemed they would be fine for the next couple of weeks or so with the supplies they had, so barring them getting so insanely lost for a prolonged time, they should be okay. Bill had even offered some of his own stock to resupply with, which Brock had politely declined. They were already getting free board for the night and with the storm outside, he really couldn't in good conscience ask for more.
Looking out the window again, he couldn't help but be thankful for their good fortune. Getting off course aside, them finding this place was just perfect timing. They were able to have a good meal (even if he had cooked it himself, but well...cooking in a proper kitchen always gave him more options than when cooking with whatever portable equipment he had on hand), they had good shelter from the storm, and nice comfortable beds for the night. All in all, they were really fortunate today. Looking at the time, he decided he might as well go to bed soon, and after getting ready he was soon comfortably under the blankets as the rain continued to fall outside.
XXXX
The sounds of stomachs growling could be heard as Team Rocket huddled together miserably. The storm was coming down hard, and while they'd managed to dry themselves off more or less, the rocks they were under just BARELY gave them any cover. "Starting to REALLY regret this plan…" James shivered.
"I'm regretting it already!" Meowth chattered.
"Will you both quit it!" Jessie growled. "Your complaining is starting to get on my nerves!"
"But Jessie, all we've been doing since we decided to try getting into the Lighthouse is dealing with nature's wrath," James complained. "I'm starting to think this is a sign we REALLY shouldn't be doing this…"
"Oh? So you're suggesting we give up after all that?!" Jessie growled.
"Well...maybe?" Meowth said. "I mean...this is 'only' Bill we're talkin about. He's not exactly known as a Trainer or anything, so we're only tryin ta break in on a maybe."
"And keep in mind, even if we do keep going when the storm ends, we're gonna have to scale a cliff that's been drenched by the storm," James reminded.
Jessie growled, but didn't deny their points. Either way all they could do was literally weather the storm.
XXXX
The night went on, and eventually the storm quieted. Ash, Misty, and Brock were all fast asleep in their rooms, Pikachu and Charmander curled up at the edge of Ash's bed. The lighthouse continued to shine its light through the mist that remained thick as ever. However, one person wasn't asleep. Bill was up in the beacon room and busy at work, going over data and projects he was working on, while also checking on the recordings he'd been playing. At first things were going normally, the sounds seemingly playing out...until he realized that he was hearing more than one sound. And it wasn't the sound he'd been broadcasting. "This...could it be…?" he gasped in surprise...and more than a little excitement.
The sound was at first far away, but before long it was loud enough that the sound penetrated into the Lighthouse, rousing Pikachu and Charmander from their slumber. Both of them looked around blearily, not sure what to think...until they remembered where they'd heard this sound before. Gasping in surprise, Pikachu went over to Ash and started poking his face, rousing him from his sleep. "Huh? What's wrong you two?" he asked, to which Charmander started frantically trilling his name, properly rousing Ash who soon heard the sound as well. "Bill's recording?" he blinked...until he realized it wasn't. "Wait, if these are the real sounds then…!" he gasped and didn't waste time in getting out of bed, and soon exited his room, Pikachu and Charmander close behind, the three of them quickly moving to wake up Misty and Brock. This was something they'd want to be awake for.
XXXX
Team Rocket also heard the sound as they were in the middle of climbing the cliff again. "Do you two hear that?" James blinked.
"You gotta be deaf to not hear this," Meowth said.
"But...where is it coming from?" Jessie gasped, the three looking around, before stopping short and slowly looking out towards the mist...as a gigantic figure started to move towards them.
"Uh...I think it's coming from that," James gulped.
XXXX
"It's gigantic!" Misty gasped as the figure came into view. Though she was less than pleased about being woken in the middle of the night, the moment she heard the sounds, she understood why Ash, Pikachu, and Charmander had woken her and Brock up in such a hurry. The group hadn't wasted time to go up to the beacon room, where unsurprisingly Bill was very much focused on seeing the mystery Pokemon he'd been trying to make contact with.
"Do you think it might be a Legendary?" Ash couldn't help but ask, cause while he was no Pokemon Professor he KNEW he'd never heard of a Pokemon that got that big. At least, not a normal Pokemon.
"If it is, then I'm not sure if I should be excited or terrified…" Brock gulped, and none of them could blame him. Legendaries were famous for being borderline forces of nature in and of themselves.
Bill however was too excited to really notice what they were saying, leaving the three to watch with baited breath as the form came into view. The mist kept the Pokemon hidden overall, but the shape...was unmistakable for someone living in Kanto.
"Its...a Dragonite?" Ash blinked in surprise, while Pikachu and Charmander could only say 'Pi…' and 'Char…' respectively which probably roughly translated to how...big...the Dragonite was.
"Incredible, it must be a subspecies of Dragonite, or some kind of variant that allowed it to grow so large…" Bill marveled as the gigantic Dragonite continued to move closer.
Down at the rocks, Team Rocket also saw the Dragonite.
"That...is one BIG Dragonite…!" James gasped at the sight.
"What are you two gawking at?!" Jessie growled. "Can't you see the gold mine that's just walked right up to us?!"
"But Jessie, how are we going to catch something that big?" James pointed out...to which Jessie pulled out a bazooka from...somewhere.
"This'll get it!" Jessie smirked...only for James and Meowth to scramble up and grab hold of her and the weapon, stopping her from firing. "What are you two morons doing?!"
"We're the morons?! You're the one who's got a few screws loose if you think that's gonna work!" Meowth shouted.
"We've been hit with a storm, had to spend hours shivering in the cold and now we're trying to climb a still wet cliff! We are NOT going to risk angering something that could crush us like ants!" James growled in agreement.
"But this could be a chance of a lifetime!" Jessie argued.
"It'll be the LAST chance of our lifetimes if we pick a fight with that!" Meowth shouted, and in the struggling they lost their hold...and were soon falling into the water again, but this time the tide pulled them out towards the sea.
"Don't panic! I have an emergency raft with me!" James shouted.
"Great, at least we won't drown!" Meowth gasped.
"But now we've lost our chance!" Jessie argued.
"We'll take this over getting squished ANY day!" both males shouted in response.
"Looks like Team Rocket's drifting off this time!" all three of them couldn't help but shout as they were pulled well away from the shore.
Up on the lighthouse though, nobody noticed the three who'd just been swept away. Instead, the three Trainer-Fighters and two Pokemon were watching in awe and a bit of apprehension as the Dragonite finally reached the lighthouse, and Bill stepped forward, holding out his hand in greeting...and the Dragonite seemed to understand his intentions and feelings as it reached out a claw which gently made contact with his hand.
Seeing that Bill couldn't keep the warm smile off his face. "Finally...we meet at last…" he said, and even though it was still partially enshrouded in mist, everyone present could see a small smile forming on the Dragonite's mouth.
XXXX
And done. Overall its the same events as canon, but with some minor changes. And yes, Team Rocket, two thirds of them anyway, had a smart moment, and they didn't piss off the giant Dragonite. Lol
So Bill gets to finally talk with the giant Dragonite. Whether this has any importance later or not...we'll see. Lol
