"Going to the USA to recruit every single Merican Yo-kai to get a leg up on the Alliance and Kelly? That's nuts." Peacock said. "But, I'd be off my rocker if I said you guys did crazier."

"Aside from bolstering Sunset's friendships, this does keep us off the Alliance's radar for now. They still think their plan worked. Kelly was very confident that he got to Sunset before he left, and if it wasn't for Kaite, it would be all but true." Mark stated.

"That begs the question though. Why do you guys think Kelly wanted to break Sunset by making her see herself as a monster?" Kendo asked. "Thinking about it, I think it's because he already saw himself as a monster, but he outright accepted it."

"Denial is not a good look on anyone, I will admit," David said. "But in my experience, I think there is a different reason behind it."

"What do you mean?" Kurochi asked.

"Tell me… Does the term 'gaslighting' mean anything to any of you?" David asked.

"Um, yeah. It's a form of psychological abuse and manipulation, yes?" Genis asked. "The abuser uses this kind of tactic to distort the victim's perception of reality, forcing them to question their own judgment as a form of dominance over them."

"Yes, exactly." David said. "It's a tactic that creates an illusion in the victim's mind, causing them to perceive things they know are false."

"I'm not sure I follow," Trish said.

"Okay… Let me give a bit of an example." David said. "Say that there is this study that says that the presence of cats is proven to be beneficial to one's mental health. However, someone tries to deny it and say that it actually worsens your mental health to the point where you lose all sense of self. Which of the two statements are you more likely to believe?"

"The former one, right?" Adora said. "But someone else might believe the latter theory because it sounds so true."

"Yes. And say that the people trying to disprove it are so vocal about it that it actually causes a believer to second-guess their opinion." David said. "The believer would be weighing both sides like a sort of sliding scale, unsure which statement is actually true."

"And that's what Kelly did to Sunset, but in a different way. Her goal is to reconnect herself with all the Yo-kai she befriended to reforge her bonds. However, Kelly gaslighted her by making her believe that her pursuit of Yo-kai friends would cost human lives, ours, or anyone else." Adora said. "He preyed on the insecurities and fears that were swirling around inside her head after the Trinity War ended."

"Not just that, but that her entire stint in the Dimensional Heroes was all just one big fabrication to conceal the darkness that still lurks within," David said. "That everything she did was for her own benefit and no one else's. Whether people accept or deny his statement, they have no proof if he is either telling the truth or just making it all up."

"I call nonsense on that," Mark spoke up. "Look, I admit I wasn't there during her villain phase, so I haven't seen the full picture. But Sunset's one of the good ones. There's no way she's just been faking it for all these years."

"And yet, Kelly managed to rattle her." Bardock pointed out. "It doesn't matter if we don't believe what he says. Deep down, a part of Sunset does."

"So, how does Sunset beat Kelly's manipulation if we meet him again, is the question?" Kieran asked.

"She has to accept herself. Not in the way Kelly wants her to, but in the way she wants to. She needs to accept every part of herself." Garnet said. "If he makes her fully believe she's a monster, as long as she believes it, she'll stay one."

"That might be kinda tricky…" Sheena said.

"Yes. This is psychological manipulation we're talking about. The result depends on the person's psyche." David said.

"Yeah, take it from me, it isn't as easy as it sounds," Ajna said.

"How did you and Kala accept everything about yourselves, Ajna?" Glimmer said.

"I helped her understand that we can't change our mistakes, but we can learn from them," Ajna said. "That there's no need for a perfect world, but rather see it for what it is. I accepted who I was, and helped her, because of you all."

"Sounds like a good lesson for Sunset, but she's probably learned it already," Scarlet said.

"Helping others see it is one thing. Applying it to yourself is another matter entirely." SE pointed out. "And sometimes, you forget your lessons. You backslide. In those moments, you can't go it alone. You need others to help you."

"Well, she's got others in spades," ZS said.

"Attention everybody…we've just arrived in the land of the free and the home of the brave." Jet said on the intercom as they looked out at the vast country landscape before them.

"Oh yeah…this is gonna be amazing," Dan said as they started to touch down on the ground.

The group then started to disembark from the ship.

"So where are we?" Jexi asked.

"A small community called St. Peanutsburg. It's where all the Merican Yo-kai usually end up gathering. It's perfect for our plan." Sunset said.

"Alright, where do we start?" Mark asked.

"I was thinking we could split up and work in small teams. More success with numbers." Sunset said.

"I assume you'll be going with your friend, yes?" Sir Saiyan asked.

"Of course." Sunset said.

"Well…guess that means we'll all be on our own for this time around." Jexi said.

"Oh this is gonna be fun." Luffy said.

"But remember. We're on the lookout for Merican Yo-kai like…like him." Sunset said, pointing to a pink lizard creature in a hoodie as he was spraying graffiti on their ship.

"Yeah, the nerve of that guy doing that-!" Carmine started.

"No. Franky gets angry." Ed replied.

"Hahaha…what a bunch a…" Roughgraff said before he was slammed down to the ground by Franky.

"No good disrespectful…" Franky said, collecting the medal.

"Well…that's one down already." Sunset said.

"Yeah, and we got, uh…" ZS trailed off, counting on his fingers. "One, two, three…alot, there's a lot."

"Well between all of us, we should be able to find every Merican Yo-kai we need in this town. So let's split up and find them." Hope said.

"Right. See you guys later." Mark said, the group splitting up into their teams and going in separate directions.

Near a cafe in town…

"So, what do you think we should color up next, Grubbles?" Skulliedoscope asked.

"We could see how the Right Brothers are doing." Grubbles said. "After we screw with some fancy party or something along the way."

"Yeah, good idea! Some places need a bit more random color in them-OH MY GOD!" Skulliedoscope suddenly gasped.

"What?! What is it?!" Grubbles asked.

"That girl's hair….!" Skulliedoscope said, as he saw Rainbow Dash passing by. "I…I don't know if I can make it any other color! She has all seven colors of the rainbow!"

"Yeah…it's kinda like yours…only cooler." Grubbles said.

"Hey, I'm hip, mon!" Skulleidoscope pointed out.

"Dude, Afros are so 1980s." Grubbles retorted. "It's all bobs and bangs these days."

"How would you know?! I doubt anyone plays with something that looks like the child of a doll and a dummy." Skulleidoscope said.

That comment caused Grubbles to stagger as if she had been slapped, looking hurt by Skulleidoscope's words, the Mysterious Tribe Yo-kai realizing his mistake.

"Oh, uh…I'm sorry, mon, I just-" the Yo-kai tried to apologize.

"You…BIG JERK!" Grubbles yelled as she used her abilities on Skulleidoscope's hair, causing it to turn completely yellow.

"AAARGH! My 7-colored perfection!" Skulliedoscope as he dashed away, his medal dropping into Grubbles' hands as she flew over to Rainbow and gave her his as well her own.

"Here you go, two medals." Grubbles said. "Just don't summon us both together for a while."

"Uh… thanks, but I didn't even do anything." Rainbow said.

"Actually, you did." Grubbles said, looking sad. "You reminded me…of what I really want."

"I did? What's that?" Rainbow asked.

"I…just want someone to play with."

"Well, I know someone who will play with you. I can introduce ya if you want." Rainbow said.

"...I'd like that." Grubbles agreed as she followed after Rainbow, the human aimlessly flipping the medals in her hand.

'Ah….so we're facing off here, huh? You've got some nerve." spoke a female Yo-kai in white with sparkling teeth.

"Hehehe. It was only natural that we collide. Even if it meant I had to come all the way to America." spoke a black devil-like Yo-kai.

Count Cavity

"It's a duel of Dental Hygiene!" Pearly White said. "You're the reason not one person in the world can have a set of perfectly clean, shiny teeth in their mouths!"

"Please. People enjoy cavities." Count Cavity said as he zapped a nearby person as they held their mouths in pain. "See?"

"You're crazy." Pearly White said as she made one person's teeth so clean, they shined like a mirror.

Both Yo-kai continued to clean and cavity-fy random mouths before they were cut off once Steven and Connie got in between them.

"That's enough!" he said, conjuring two shields to block both of their beams. "What's going on here?"

"I'll tell you what's going on! That rapscallion is giving everyone cavities!" Pearly White pointed an accusing finger at Count Cavity.

"Oh, don't put it all on me. She's making people's teeth shine like a Branson marque!" Count Cavity said, pointing to Pearly White.

"Huh, it sounds like you two just can't get along regarding hygiene," Steven said. "I mean, it's important to brush your teeth so you don't get cavities, but then again, you shouldn't overdo it."

"Ha! See. The scruffy kid is on my side." Count Cavity said.

"But, no one likes cavities, so it's a good idea to brush every day so you don't get them in the first place." Steven added.

"I'd say he's on my side!" Pearly White argued, the two Yo-kai starting their argument up again.

"I guess talking it out isn't gonna work…" Steven admitted.

"It was a good try, Steven. Let me try something." Connie offered as she raised her hand. "Hey, do you mind if I ask a question?"

"What?!" the two Yo-kai demanded.

"Well, Pearly gives people perfect teeth, and the count gives people cavities, so…what happens if you hit someone at the same time?" Connie asked.

The two Yo-kai made to answer, only to stop. "Huh…good question." Count Cavity admitted.

"I'm…not really sure myself." Pearly White agreed.

"...Eh, what the heck, now I'm curious. Let's find out." the count offered as a civilian was walking by at that moment. "One…two…three!"

The two Yo-kai fired their beams at the passerby, hitting him at the same time. When the two got a good look, they saw that the person's teeth looked average.

"Ah, average teeth. Not that surprising." Pearly said. "Now, where were…we?" she said as she saw Count Cavity looking nostalgic.

"Huh? Oh, sorry, just remembering this kid I used to hang around with." Count Cavity said. "He had average teeth, but I always made sure to give him a cavity or two right before he went to the dentist. This one time, Negatibuzz and Blazion showed up too. Good times, those were. Kid even had a Yo-kai Watch."

"Wait…are you talking about Nate Adams?" Steven asked.

"Yeah, that's him! How's he doing, still in pain from all the dentist visits?" the Count asked.

"Uh…well, we're not sure how to tell you this, but…" Connie started. "He's…not human anymore."

"Huh?" the Count questioned, before the implications hit him. "Wait…you don't mean-! Oh no…how'd it happen?!"

"We'd…rather not say." Steven said. "But our friend Sunset's looking for a way to turn him back to normal."

"Is that so? Well, if she's doing that, count me in!" the Count said, offering up his medal. "I much prefer ol' Nate as a human…those cavities I give him hurt more then!"

"You are impossible." Pearly White shook her head. "You know what, I believe I'll join you as well. If only to keep this madman in check." she sighed, giving up her medal as well.

"Great idea, Connie!" Steven thanked his friend.

"It wasn't how I expected it to work, but thanks!" Connie replied.

"So…you sure he's living around here?" Sunset asked, having summoned Snippity Cricket as they visited a cornfield.

"Oh yes. I'm almost…yep. There he is." Snippity Cricket said pointing to a grasshopper in clothing as he hopped around without a care.

"Well, it shouldn't be too hard to convince him to join us," Hagakure said.

"Yeah. I'll go talk with him." Ginseng said as she ran over to him.

"Oh ho…so we got some fresh faces on our side of the farm." a voice called out as a chicken stood by a stand. "You all look like you could use some…of these." he said, presenting some watches.

"Yo-kai Watches?" Sunset said.

"Now, normally, you'd have to find these, but I am offering them to you fine folks for a special price of 19.99." he said.

"Almost $20?" Hagakure asked. "And you're saying these are the real things?"

"Genuine article. What, you think I'm lying?" the chicken asked.

"Well…" Hagakure said before noticing the chicken was hiding a sly grin. "Sunset! Refract your watch's light through me!"

"No…we're not doing that." Sunset said.

"Now little lady, were you planning on blinding me?" the chicken asked. "How cruel and dishonest of the Invisible Girl."

"Wait…how did you know my hero name?" Hagakure asked.

"Oh uh….oh, is that the crack of dawn calling?" he said as he took off.

"Heh…sucker. He forgot his watches." Weisz said, picking one up as it fell apart. "Hey, these are just ordinary watches decorated with trash!"

"What a crook." Klonoa said.

"That's why he's called Crook-a-Doodle." Sunset said.

"He's nothing but a chronic liar and a deceitful con artist." Sunset said.

"You want to go after him?" Hapi asked.

"Nah. I'm sure one of the others will run into him eventually. He'll get his comeuppance soon enough." Sunset said. "Now that I think of it…I heard rumors that one of the Merican Legendaries is on this farm."

"Oh? Which one?" Hagakure asked.

"Teducator." Sunset said. "He's similar to Poofessor, all the way down to the same inspiriting effect. The only difference is his choice of clothes."

"I think he's in there." Hagakure suggested as she pointed to the barn.

They entered the barn and saw six different Yo-kai looking completely bored out of their minds. One was a large dragon that was tilting their head. A blue owl in orange. A large mountain holding a steering wheel. A yellow horse with a sinister face. A small kangaroo in a detective outfit and a ghostly being with hair shaped like a question mark.

"Hes got those other six Yo-kai dead to rights…who are they?" Hagakure asked.

"Draaagin is a Yo-kai your team's familiar with. He makes people delay whatever task they're taking. Who-Me makes you mishear things by literally changing up the words. Speedemountain makes you a reckless driver. Negasus tempts you into doing naughty things. Ponderoo makes you overthink your choices. And Miss Teri makes you interested in mysteries." Sunset said.

"Quite an assortment here." Weisz said. "So looks like Merican isn't all we'll be dealing with."

"Seems that way." Dhar said.

"It'll be easy to get some of these guys on board. But I think Ponderoo will take a bit of work." Sunset said. "But first…let's spare them from listening to this guys lecturing."

"Well, Mari and a deuce aren't here, so we can't use the same trick twice." Scarlet said.

"Maybe we can…just knock him out?" Frosta suggested.

The group just looked at one another before they did a joint strike on the bear, knocking him out.

"Huh…I always forget that's an option." Sunset said.

"Yeah, you would." Scarlet agreed before he addressed the other six Yo-kai. "Alright, we saved you from boring facts, now we're asking you all the rejoin the Night Parade. Any objections?"

None of the six Yo-kai present showed no objection in the matter.

"Good." Sunset said as she collected the medal from Teducator. "One legend down, seven more to go."

"Ugh…now what is going on here?" Jexi murmured as he and Sora were dealing with some of the zippers on their outfits suddenly unzipping and rezipping, unaware of a small green star shaped Yo-kai with a zipper for a mouth.

The Yo-kai's fun was interrupted as it was suddenly kicked on the side by Cap-P, sending it flying and leaving its medal behind.

"Victory!" Cap-P declared, picking the medal up. "Oh, Jexi, Sora! I see you were already engaged with that Yo-kai. No wonder it was so easy to land a blow on."

"...There was a Yo-kai?" the two of them said surprised.

Cap-P blinked a couple of times. "...Did I just defeat an opponent that got the drop on both of you?" he asked, genuinely surprised.

"Uh…apparently so." Jexi said, blushing a bit. "And uh…let's just keep this little uh…mishap between the three of us."

"Agreed." Cap-P nodded.

At the nearby hospital, some of the group prowled around.

"So…Sunset said one of them was here?" Mikan asked.

"Yeah…she said to look for….oh there!" Chopper pointed to a small petite Yo-kai with large purple hair and a large flowing dress holding a mic.

"Maybe so she can inspirit a nurse or doctor so they can inspire patients?" Chopper guessed as he tilted his head. "Not really sure. Either way, let's talk to her and see if she's up for joining us."

They approached the princess as she smiled.

"Friends of Sunset Shimmer. Well so glad you could drop by to see me." Gabby said.

"Yeah. We wanted to ask if you'd rejoin her Night Parade." Chopper said.

"Straight to the point huh? Hmm…sure. Why not." Gabby said. "In fact, why don't I introduce you all to a friend that could be useful to a whole lot of ya?"

"Really? Who's that?" Kieran asked.

"Domo arigato, Mikan. It's great to be a part of the parade!" Lionguist said.

Out near the outlands, a certain girl rode on a horse, this girl being Applejack as she held a lasso.

"Wait, you mean famous explorer Columbus?" Miu asked.

"The very same." Columbakat said.

"Oh, that's…nice." Emo said with a strained smile.

"Something wrong, young man?" Columbakat asked.

"Well, uh…I just hope you've outgrown a few of your…less famous actions, that's all." the warlock answered.

"Less famous. All I do is explore the world and search for new lands. That is all I am known for." Columbakat said proudly.

"Huh…guess he either doesn't remember or chooses not to." Ruby said.

"Probably for the best that it stays that way. That's a can of worms we don't want to open." Leopardmon said.

"Yeah, you're probably right. Just had to be sure." Emo said. "Anyway, Columbakat, don't suppose you're willing to join Sunset Shimmer's Night Parade?"

"New exotic lands to explore? I am in." Columbakat said as he handed over his medal.

"So…how many of these pioneers are there?" Miu asked.

"Just three, according to Sunset. T. Energison, Columbakat, and Starwin." Ruby said.

"Starwin, huh? With a name like that, you'd think we'd have met him in space." Emo remarked.

"Not exactly. He's actually Charles Darwin." Ruby corrected.

"Ah, nevermind then. So, see anybody else?" Emo asked.

"Looks like the port's clean. There's a town further in where one of the Merican Legends is living. He's a strange one but a brave warrior. He's called…the Last Nyanmurai." Ruby said.

"Last Nyanmurai?" Frosta wondered.

"Simply put, he's an American Shogunyan. But he's got this weird habit of always wanting to be the last at everything, mostly because he was born last." Usopp said.

"Always wanting to be last at everything? That's…a weird complex." David said.

"Well he is called the Last Nyanmurai." Ruby said.

"So…should we honor his wish and save him for last, or…?" Alkaline started.

"I say we get him now and surprise him later. We can always say we got him last." Ruby said.

"Yes…suppose we might as well take our time getting there if he enjoys being last so much." Leopardmon said.

"I'd imagine he doesn't win a lot of competitions with that kind of mindset." Crusadermon said.

"I doubt it. Seems a bit detrimental for that kind of thing." David said.

"Well, there is the saying 'saving the best for last'." Revali said.

"There's another saying: Nice guys do not finish last. Last place is for the cowards and those too full of fear to take action." Emo countered. "Way I see it, he needs a reality check."

Inside of a nearby scrapyard, some of the group were also working within its borders.

"What the heck is that?" Noelle asked.

"I think all the junk in the scrapyard formed a grudge and became one massive Yo-kai." Pit said.

The junk creature roared as it raised an arm and tried to crush them.

Junkyard Goliath - Junkernaut

"Let's tear this guy apart and send him back to the junkyard!" Akane said as she avoided Junkernaut's fist before kicking it in the arm. Noelle flew up high in her valkyrie armor and blasted it with a Sea Dragon Roar from her water lance as well.

Laura fired a volley of Ether Shots from above before reappearing in front of Junkernaut. "Can you withstand this?" she asked before firing a concentrated beam of Ether at him.

"Wind Sword!" Klonoa called, slashing at Junkernaut with his Wind Ring with the wind formed into a blade.

Saber held her blade at the ready as one of Junkernaut's arms came down upon her in an attempt to crush whatever it could. One slice with Invisible Air, however, severed the appendage from the rest of the body, sending it crashing down onto the junkyard ground harmlessly.

"She just severed Junkernaut's arm clean off!" Love-Torn gawked.

"So Strong!" In-tune said in harmony.

"There is nothing Excalibur can't cut through." Saber said.

Junkernaut was not happy about this as he unleashed a large wave of junk upon the group.

"Perhaps I shall assist." Kagetsu said as he readied his Reversal Blade. "Ha!" he said, cleaving through the junk and slashing through Junkernaut.

"This is it!" Pit said, firing arrows at the junk golem's eye.

The junk soon broke off, revealing his true self, which was a large slimy green body.

"Ugh! So that's what Junkernaut really looks like?" Noelle asked. "That slime must be what was holding all that junk together to make its armor."

The slime mass soon slithered away, disappearing deep into the sea of junk that was the scrapyard.

"Well…so…who's up for leaving this place before he decides to reform?" Pit asked the group.

"Agreed." Noelle said.

"Glad we agree." Pit said as they all quickly took off.

"We're up for anything." K-Jiro said. "So are all these guys." he said, showing them the Yo-kai. "Amplifly, Judgebrick, Sweattuce, Tattlecakes, Lil Kappa, Cocobanana, even My-Baaad."

The group looked around at the Yo-kai named.

"Wow…guess the guys who make Yo-kai got lazy with americanizing." Eddy said.

"But they are still sort of unique." Double D said.

"I'm not too excited about this though. Joining the parade means I'll be seeing that girl again. The one who dashed that theater workers' grandiose dreams." Amplifly said. "And that philistine ice kid who ruined my hairdo."

"Aw, c'mon Amplifly, that was years ago, can't y'let it go now?" K-Koma asked.

"Some things aren't easy to let go." Amplifly said.

"Wait, I read about that, didn't you inspirit that girl?" Eddy asked.

"Semantics!" Amplifly waved off. "I simply made her into her grandest self."

"Yeah and almost destroyed the mall with her." Odd said.

"Hmm…fine. I suppose since you all are begging." Amplifly said.

"Yeah…whatever you need to tell yourself." Yaoyorozu said.

"All right, come one, come all, as I bring to you all some genuine merch! That's right. Honest to goodness Yo-kai watches!" Crook-a-Doodle called out as he was selling his merch to some Yo-kai in a warehouse. These Yo-kai included a dog in a computer mouse, a yellowish nerdy yo-kai coming out of a computer, another of said Yo-kai dressed like a king, a featureless one looking like the figure from an exit sign, a question mark with legs, a creature with a small tree on his head and texting, a much larger of said Yo-kai with multiple arms and phones and a dazed looking tie.

"Come on now. None of y'all will wanna miss this chance. And it's on a special sale. Only 19.99…for the first four." he said as the eight Yo-kai gathered started fighting each other over who got one. "Hehehe…suckers." he chuckled to himself.

He, however, did not escape notice of the group.

"You're selling Yo-kai watches?" Tanjiro asked.

"Yes sir. And I know you handsome and beautiful guys and dolls don't wanna go home without this once in a lifetime opportunity. So…shall I ring ya up?" Crook-a-Doodle asked.

"No offense but your merch seems…trashy." Mayumi said.

"Gasp! So heartless! I'm a hard-working Yo-kai, being tossed around by the throws of society." Crook-a-Doodle said.

"Well, we have a merchant of our own that can give his own opinion on the matter." Mayumi said. "Lionel, what do you think? Are these legit?"

Lionel then inspected one of the watches, looking at them very closely. "Hmm…quite the fine detail on these, my friend. Lionel can see you've done a fine job with the respective paint works on all products. However, your watches have two flaws to them that unfortunately set them apart from Miss Shimmer's."

"Huh? These are the genuine article! What kinda flaws are you talking about?" Crook demanded.

"For starters, if these are the genuine Yo-kai watches you are selling…" Lionel said, pointing to the top of the watch. "Then each one should have the feature of summoning a Yo-kai to the owner with the insertion of a medal into the center, should they not? So, where might the Medal chamber be on your products?"

Crook-a-Doodle sweated nervously as he darted his eyes left and right.

"If you truly are claiming to sell yokai watches, then they must have that feature, shouldn't they?" Lionel asked. "Why not prove your products are real by summoning a Yo-kai right here and now?"

"Sorry, no summoning until they are bought." Crook-a-Doodle said.

"Hold on. Lionel said there were two flaws to them." Mayumi said.

"And here is the second. Do you know what time it is, good sir?" Lionel asked

"It should be noon." Crook-a-Doodle said.

"These are some good watches. They keep the time…unlike the genuine article." Lionel said.

"Uh…they're an upgraded model? Look, I did not come to sell just to be heckled by some pompous know it all like…" Crook-a-Doodle said banging on the table as the trash on the watches fell off. "Ah, damn."

"Hey…these are just ordinary watches! This chicken's a no good cheat!" Indexter said.

Treeter and Retreeter quickly took to their phones to spread the word online that Crook-a-Doodle's Yo-kai watches were hoaxes. In a matter of seconds, any yokai who bought them previously demanded for their money back.

"Well uh…hmm…how to settle…oh look! It's Lord Enma!" Crook-a-Doodle said, pointing to a different direction as most turned as he took off running.

"You better hope we don't see you again, otherwise you're going in the fryer!" Baozhai said as she saw Crook-a-Doodle's medal on the ground. "And we'll take this." she said, picking it up and flicking it in the air.

"Hold it…" Lionel said as he took the medal and bit into it. "Needed to make sure it was the genuine article.

"Understandable." Baozhai said.

"Yeah, you can never tell with those kinds of people. Scammers pop up whenever you least expect them. Just ask Eddy." Mayumi said.

"Why am I the example?" Eddy asked.

"Because you did it all the time?" Mayumi asked.

Eddy was going to say something but stopped. "You know what, fair point."

"Thank you for that. We almost fell prey to some crooked rooster." Retreeter said.

"Take our medals as well." Tie-red as they handed them over. "If you ever feel homesick, I'm just a call away."

"Me and Treeter can spread Sunset's call to any Yo-kai on social media." Retreeter said.

"Need those Yo-kai Alliance jerks off your back? I think I can help with that. Just gimme a computer anytime." Hack King said.

"Uh same." Indexter said.

"And you?" Baozhai asked Runsure.

"Uh…not sure." Runsure said as he ran in place. "Can I? Will I?"

"We'll put you down as a yes and maybe." Baozhai said.

On the residence of a nearby mansion…

"Ah…nothing like a little Yo-kai hunting in a place like this." Hope said, having already apprehended a few Yo-kai. A pelican dressed in Americana, a man dressed in white with a top hat, a small man in a parka with a crown, a bipedal skunk, and a living shell.

"Yeah, after Lei worked hard in the tournament, I feel like I need to step up. Sunset's counting on me too. After all, I lead a team like some of you guys." Hope said.

"Oh…that so?" a voice asked. "I take it you lead the Shining Hope Squad?"

Out of the shadows emerged a small yellow imp-like Yo-kai with a crutch dressed like a reporter.

"Uh…who are you?" Jexi asked.

"Injurnalist, a reporter and…well…journalist," Injurnalist said. "I wanna do an interview with bluey there."

"Are you sure?" Hope asked. "Not that I'm against it, it's just…."

"I'll pay you." Injurnalist said, holding up his medal.

"Well in that case, sure. What do you wanna ask me specifically?" Hope asked.

"Hmm…what is your stance on…justice?" Injurnalist asked.

"Justice, huh?" Hope asked. "The last time I was ever judged on something like that, I wasn't acknowledged as a true hero by Stain."

"I know about that. He didn't see you as a true hero. Stain hates those who use heroism as a means of boosting their own status. It's quite staggering how many of those there are nowadays. To be honest, you don't seem like the type of guy who would do that." Injurnalist said. "So, what's your actual take on it? What does being a hero mean to you?"

"Well, I'd say being a hero to me means doing the right thing, money and fame be damned. I've learned a lot by traveling with Jexi, and I've discovered that being a leader of a team means not choosing members based on power, or jumping to conclusions on what to do. It's more about following the flow of adventure and solving problems as they come along. And when lives are saved in the process, I'm happy when that happens." Hope explained.

"I see…so that also means allowing killers into your group, yes?" Injurnalist said.

"Huh? What're you talking about?" Hope asked. "None of my guys kill."

"Yeah, you say that but last I checked Flame Emperor Sabo was a member of your group and he killed King Cobra of Alabasta at the Levely." Injurnalist said.

"He WHAT?!" some of the group said.

"(Uh oh…this was what he was planning to get at from the start, wasn't it?)" Hope thought.

"Vivi's father is…" Roy asked in slight shock.

"Dead as a doornail? Yes. Currently taken home to be buried in the tomb of the kings." Injurnalist said, going back to hope. "And I'm sure Sabo told you about what he did in Mariejois, right? Bout how he and his pals assaulted the city, nearly murdered a Celestial Dragon, and then killed Cobra. Tell me, are you secretly leading a secret assassination group?"

"What? No!" Hope said.

"Yet you allow a man who committed regicide on your team? So you got a soft spot for him even though he killed an innocent man." Injurnalist said. "Okay…I think I got what I needed." he said flipping his medal to him. "This is gonna make one hell of a story."

"Oh man…if that story goes public, things will look bad for me, and even worse for Sabo." Hope said as Injurnalist started walking away. "Should we do anything?" he said only getting silent stares. "Guys?" he said.

"Sorry but…it's kinda hard to defend after all that." Jexi said.

"Wait, wait. Are we really trusting something that comes out of their mouth?" Mark asked. "For all we know, Sabo could've been framed."

"(He's not wrong. That camera just snapped that pic at the wrong place, wrong time. But…should I tell them…the truth?)" Hope thought.

"Hope…you can tell them." a voice said as Sabo approached.

"Are…are you sure?" Hope asked.

"But just them," Sabo said.

"Tell us what?" Mark asked.

"What really happened that day," Hope said.

"I didn't go to Mary Geoise to kill Cobra. I went to declare war against the Celestial Dragons and rescue Kuma." Sabo said. "And I did both those things. But…I wasn't prepared for what happened next. I caught Cobra…having a meeting with the Five Elders. But…do you guys know about the Empty Throne?"

"I think Richard mentioned something about that. It's supposed to be a symbol that no one man would rule the world. The 20 original kingdoms laid their weapons before it as proof." David said.

"But that's not true is it?" Ace asked.

"When I got in there…I saw someone else walk in…and sit in it." Sabo said surprising them.

"So he's the one holding the Five Elders leashes?" Ace asked.

"Leashes? Ha. Those five treated him as if he actually ruled the world." Sabo said. "He was the one who killed Cobra. He…all of them…they're monsters in human flesh. He gave his life… so that I could get away."

"Holy moly…" Mark said, shocked. "So…this throne person's the man leading the World Government. All the atrocities, in one way or another, can be traced back to them. Yeah…I get the feeling we'll be meeting this person sooner or later."

"I'm not so sure about that. Sabo told us they keep to themselves mostly. However, they're protective of their identity. So much so, that they're willing to wipe an entire kingdom off the map. In fact…they did." Hope said.

"They traced one of my calls near the Lulusia Kingdom. Something appeared in the sky…and obliterated it. There's nothing but a gaping hole right in the sea." Sabo said.

"That sounds like…you don't think they have…?" Mark asked, before an idea struck him. "Wait…didn't Richard send a letter right to Mariejois? I thought it was just to the Five Elder Stars, but…?"

"I think he may have provoked them." David said.

"It was an ultimatum. In the politest way possible, he told the Elders not to pursue any of us in the alliance outside of the New World, or risk facing his wrath." Sabo said.

"You don't think Richard knew about this ruler guy?" Issei asked.

"It wouldn't surprise me. He does tend to go much deeper into things than we do." Mark said. "I bet he called that guy out directly."

"It only served to backfire. After Richard issued the ultimatum, Cipher Pol was ordered to invade Richard's dimension and eliminate them. Magina's decree of bounties on the Unmei Force and Future seekers heads to be revoked was overturned, and Seraphim were even dispatched. They kinda looked like us." Hope said.

"Ah…those were the prototypes Atlas mentioned in Hyrule." Jexi said.

"Wait…. What about Vivi? If Cobra was murdered, that would mean she's a target for the World government too! Sabo, didn't the news say you kidnapped her?" Roy asked.

"It didn't and I didn't. She was already missing by the time I got out of there. But somehow I don't think the government has her either or they would have announced her as dead." Sabo said.

"Then I'm just going to assume she's safe for now." Hope said. "Anything else…"

"Well…eventually, I will have to tell Luffy this but…before Cobra died, he told me to pass along a message. We are also D." Sabo said.

"The heck does that mean?" Issei asked.

"It means…yeah. I got no clue. It's probably the same as those D's in Luffy and Ace's names." Sabo said.

"I'm sorry I kept all this from you guys for this long. But it doesn't change the fact that Injurnalist will publish that story he got from the falsities." Hope said.

"That doesn't matter. Wouldn't be the first time we've had bad press, and I doubt it'll be the last." Mark said.

"So… there's no hard feelings between any of us?" Hope smiled.

"I'm honestly more surprised that you actually kept a secret like this." Jexi said.

"Well, all that information Sabo dumped on me and the others was so huge, I couldn't just tell it to anyone," Hope said. "If I said it to the wrong crowd, it would cause widespread panic."

"No, I mean…you are one of the worst at keeping secrets and you managed to keep this one." Jexi said.

"Well… I wasn't just going to let Sabo down." Hope said.

"As soon as he heard everything I went through, he promised me that no matter what, all that I saw in Mariejois would be one secret that he would keep at the cost of his life." Sabo said.

"And I'm not one to break my promises." Hope said.

"Well, he's not." Mark pointed out. "In any case, as big as this revelation is, we're going to have to save it for later. We have Yo-kai to find."

"But we are coming back to this later, right?" Issei asked.

"Oh, big time." the half-angel nodded.

"Yeah…this already screams something more exciting later down the line." Jexi said, smiling big.

"So moneybags there is one of the legends here?" Vector asked.

"Yes. His name is Flash T. Cash." Sunset said. "Like his name suggests, he loves to throw his money around."

"Well, he's certainly attracted a fleet." Scarlet remarked.

"Those two are Shipshape Sailor and Admirable Admiral. This first one makes people carefree and nonchalant. The other makes people admire every single thing you do." Sunset said.

"As for the other three, let me guess: the octopus makes you popular, the macra guy makes you sing and dance, and the dog…well, that one I can't guess." Scarlet admitted.

"Flocktopus draws positive attention to make them clingy, Rhumbastiltskin makes you stressed and freaked out and Pookivil makes you an evil prankster." Sunset said.

"All of them following the money. You guys know what we need to do. We need…to gather all the money!" Vector said.

"You mean get the medals." Scarlet stated.

"Well, yeah, that too. But also gather the money!" Vector said as he rushed to gather the money.

"Yeah…kinda expected that." Sunset said, seeing the croc joining the crowd and gathering the money.

"So, should we just ask for their medals?" Scarlet questioned. "I mean, do we have enough medals to officially get Flash's medal?"

"Unlike the normal Legendaries, the Merican Legendaries don't have required Yo-kai to unlock their medals." Sunset said.

"Oh yeah, you mentioned that." Scarlet remembered. "Guess we just ask them."

"Yep." Sunset said. "Which is why I brought Vector for this." she said watching the croc talking with Yo-kai while getting their money and medals as he was working his way up to the big guy.

"Huh, so Vector being money-hungry and helpful aren't mutually exclusive." Scarlet said. "Who knew?"

"I did. His negotiation skills and detective skills were essential for this little hunt." Sunset smiled as he made it to the big guy as he talked to him and managed to earn a medal out of it. "And with that, that's half of the legends in our hand. And we've almost gotten all the Merican Yo-kai too, along with a few others."

"How many would you say we have left?" Scarlet asked.

"I can't put an exact number, but I can tell you that the total number of Yo-kai we have…we'll shoot right past the 400 mark." Sunset said.

"400?!" Scarlet said.

"Yeah…I knew we'd get a bunch, but this is far better than I expected." Sunset said.

"Well, that explains why the Nosirs and Timidevil are here, but why's Puppiccino taking this class?" Amethyst questioned.

"Cause being an adult sometimes means being polite." Kendo said.

"Now then, how are we to obtain these medals?" Peridot-2 asked.

"Maybe display some politeness ourselves?" Kendo suggested.

"Perhaps." D. Constance said as she approached the Legendary Yo-kai. "Pardon me, sir. I am terribly sorry to interrupt your class. But may I ask you of something, please?"

"Oh, but of course, young lady." Gentlemutt said. "How may I be of help to you?"

"My friends and I are helping our dear Sunset Shimmer reclaim the friendships she lost with the Yo-kai. We would be most grateful if you and your students could join her Night Parade." D. Constance said.

"A Night Parade, you say? How intriguing." Gentlemutt said, before he turned to his students. "Gentlemen, what say you?"

"Ah, ah, ah~" one of the Nosirs stated.

"Uh, I…I don't know…" Timidevil stuttered.
