Chapter 13

The next morning Lucy wakes up to Laxus curled around her, holding her close and tightly against him, legs over hers pinning them down. The sheets are pooled down to their hips, their torsos exposed, the fresh outdoor air hitting their skin. It's a good thing they have cover or else there would be morning dew on them.

She thinks about their night and how perfect it was. Who knew Laxus Dreyar had it in him and could be such a romantic? The whole night was even better than what she imagined what her first time would be like. The feeling of them connecting and becoming one felt so good that she instigated a third round. Just thinking about it makes her rub her thighs together, well attempts to, but Laxus's grip on her is tight. Her movement causes her back end to rub against his morning wood.

Laxus groans when her ass rubs against him and his hand that's been resting on her breast squeezes it. "You better watch it, woman."

"Mmmm… and what are you going to do?" Lucy rubs up against him again.

Laxus rolls her over onto her back, lays above her, and kisses her deeply. He chuckles when he hears Lucy's stomach growl, and her face turns red. He kisses her again before getting off of the bed. "Making you breakfast."

Lucy sits up holding the blanket against her admiring Laxus's naked form. "Don't you want to, you know?"

Laxus grabs her hand and pulls her up unexpectedly causing her to loosen her grip on the blanket and it falls to her feet.

"I want to have you again, but first, you need something to eat."

"Laxus! We're naked! What if your team stops by?"

He chuckles, "First of all, they know better than to stop by unannounced. Second, it's just us."

"Sorry, I don't make it a habit to run around naked."

Laxus quirks his eyebrow at her, "Not what I've heard about your missions."

Lucy smacks his arm, "I don't intentionally do that."

Chuckling Laxus replies, "I know." He then lifts her and sets her naked ass on his counter.

Lucy watches Laxus rummage through his fridge and cupboards to fix something to eat. "Do you always cook in your kitchen naked?" Tilting her head to the side she checks out his ass, "Not that it's a bad view."

"No, but I can make it a habit." He puts a black apron on and gets to work.

The rest of the morning is filled with light conversation while they eat eggs, toast, and bacon. Once done and everything cleaned up, they go to the master bathroom and shower together. What started as them washing each other ended in Laxus taking her up against the wall and then finishing cleaning each other up.

Stepping out, drying off Lucy asks, "Could we go somewhere today?"

"Sure, although I will make it known I would much rather spend all day cooped up here with you."

Lucy laughs, "Of course you would. I want to show you something."

After getting ready for the day they go back and forth on whether to take the train or have Laxus teleport them with his lightning. She reminds him of the embarrassing fact that he tends to get lost, so he concedes and promises not to pay attention to her when she buys tickets. When they arrive at their destination Laxus recognizes the name of the town. Acalypha.

"Isn't this where you grew up?" Laxus questions as he grabs Lucy's hand and begins their trek.

Lucy nods and leads the way, "Yeah. I wanted to bring you here to see Fiore's Orphanage and School for Mages."

"Has anyone else seen it yet?"

"No, you're the first. I've been keeping it a surprise from everyone."

Well doesn't that just warm Laxus's heart? They walk a trail only big enough to fit a carriage through many trees. When they come out on the other side Laxus stops at the sight before him. There's a huge mansion with a yard filled with houses.

"Is this? You lived here?"

"Yes, this was once home." Lucy then points out the amount of land that it sits on.

"Holy shit."

Lucy laughs, "Yeah. My team's reaction was pretty much the same the first time they saw the place." As they walk Lucy tells him about her threatening her father after the attack from Phantom Lord. Her team thought she was coming back here for good, so they followed her. "Gray thought this was a little village." Lucy waves her hand around the area, "when it's just the gardens."

Laxus stops in his tracks. "Just the gardens?"

Lucy walks them over to a bench to sit, "Yeah, but I guess you could call it a village since this is where many of the servants dwelled."

"How can you be so nonchalant about this?"

"Well, what good is all this when you don't have friends to share it with? I was alone except for my spirits and servants."

Laxus looks around and tries to view it from Lucy's perspective. He can understand how it would be lonely, isolated from the world, and no one your age to have fun with. Considering her upbringing he can't imagine her father letting her run around and play. His father may have been an asshole, but his grandfather did the best he could to give him a good life. Even though he separated himself from the others in the guild, he wasn't alone. He puts his arm around her shoulders, pulls her in, and kisses her on the top of her. "It's awesome that you're doing this. You'll be giving a lot of children a good childhood."

Lucy blushes, "Thanks."

As they sit they enjoy the cool breeze, the sun beating down on them. Laxus takes in the sight of the place. He tunes in when Lucy begins to speak.

"Until recently, I thought my dad's business was responsible for having all this luxury growing up."

"It wasn't?"

Lucy shakes her head, "My dad's business helped but no, it was because of my mom, specifically the Heartfilia family line. It's through the women and my father had taken her last name."

"What did your mom do? I mean this doesn't come cheap."

"In the meeting with Queen Hisui, I learned that the Heartfilia's have always been the Queen's second in command since they began to rule over the country and of course were paid by the Royal Family. Due to that position, the Heartfilia's became the most powerful, prestigious, and wealthiest family under the Royal Family." Lucy doesn't have to wait long before Laxus figures out what she's not saying.

"Wait, so the Heartfilia's, you, still hold that position? Is that what the Queen wanted, to ask you to reclaim that spot?"

"Yeah."

Laxus looks straight ahead, "So what would that mean for us?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, won't you have to leave Fairy Tail?" Laxus asks quietly, "Me?"

Lucy gets up and kneels before Laxus, resting her hands on his thighs, "Not at all Laxus, I can remain right where I am."

Laxus smirks, "Are you sure? People might see us."

Lucy realizes their position and why Laxus's demeanor has changed. She jumps up to her feet and smacks his arm, "Perv."

Laxus pulls her onto this lap and chuckles, "Sorry, but you set yourself up."

Lucy crosses her arms, looks the other way, and huffs, "Whatever."

Laxus gently grabs her chin to turn her head to face him and makes eye contact with her, "Seriously though."

"I can remain a mage and stay in Magnolia with Fairy Tail." She cups his face and gives him a light kiss, "You." She gives him another light kiss and then says, "There are a few things I need to talk to you and Master about but that can wait until tomorrow." Lucy hops off of his lap, "Come on. I want you to meet everyone."

The next day the two procrastinate getting ready for the day. Ever since Lucy and Laxus were intimate two nights ago, Lucy just hasn't been able to get enough. Once they returned from Acalypha they've been at it only stopping to eat and take other breaks. As much as Laxus is enjoying it, he's not sure he'll be able to keep up. it's him that has to put a stop to their activities and get ready to go to the guild.

When they walk over the threshold hand in hand everyone's heads turn to them. It's written all over Lucy's face what they have been up to. There are hoots and hollers. The women try to get details.

"How about we set up a time to get together at Fairy Hills where there's more room and we don't have to worry about pervs and eavesdroppers."

Laxus tugs on her hand, "We got to talk to the old man."

Gramps is sitting on the bar top drinking, "If you're asking for Lucy's hand in marriage the answer is yes."

"Jiji!"

"What!?"

"I'm just kidding. Now what is it you need to tell me?"

"Not here," Laxus picks up his grandfather and sets him in his wheelchair.

Lucy nudges Laxus out of the way and pushes the tiny master of Fairy Tail to his office. "Your office will be best."

"Luce, what is this about?" Natsu asks.

"It's something I need to privately talk with the Master about."

"Then how come Laxus gets to go in too?" Natsu whines.

Gray rolls his eyes, "Duh you flaming idiot, it's because Laxus is her boyfriend."

"Yeah well, I'm her best friend Ice stripper-" Natsu butts his head against Gray's.

Erza hits them both in the head and they fall to the floor, "Isn't it obvious, Laxus is going to be the next guild master so it only makes sense he sits in."

"Thank Erza, it's both now if you'll please excuse us."

The three of them finally make it to Gramps' office. Once the door is closed behind them Laxus and Lucy take the two available chairs. Once they're comfortable Lucy tells them the little history lesson on why and when their country was named Fiore then to what she told Laxus the day prior.

"They're going to keep it under wraps for now but eventually it's going to need to be announced."

"When will that be?" Gramps asks.

"Whenever I'm ready."

"We should keep this information between us three for now," Laxus says.

Gramps nods his head, "I think that's a good idea. Don't need other guilds accusing us of favoritism."

"It will be difficult once I start attending meetings which will consist of the masters of the top five guilds, top five noble families, the magic council, and the royal family with her advisors. I, being one of them. They will be about the economy, what everyone can do to help the country, and any concerns one has. It's a way for everyone to work together."

Gramps realizes something and then cries, "More meetings to attend."

Laxus scowls at the man, "What's it matter to you? You send me to all of them."

After gathering his composure Gramps asks, "Wouldn't there be four others since the Heartfilia name is now back to the top of the noble families?"

"No, I would strictly be there for the Queen, not as a representative for the noble families. I'm also the first Heartfilia to be a part of a Wizarding guild so I will need to learn to not be biased especially when it comes to Fairy Tail."

"I bet that's going to be hard," Laxus states.

Lucy fidgets in her seat, "Yeah, anyways uh this next little bit isn't something I want getting back to the rest of the guild not anyone really, but uh I uh will be getting paid by the royal family."

"How much?"

"I honestly don't know. It had to be quite a good bit since my mother was able to save ten billion for me."

"Damn."

"Yeah, and it collected a bit of interest leaving me with 27,000,180,548."

Both men's jaw drops.

"I paid her back 14,000,000,000 for what she paid to get the mansion back and the remainder will go towards any necessities, repairs, etc."

"You got your childhood home back? Is that the news Wendy said you've been waiting to tell us about?"

"Yeah, I've been waiting until it's finished. Fairy Tail was my inspiration for it. You know since you always took in orphans who had nowhere to go. It has not only been remodeled into an orphanage but it will be a school for them as well. I will get into that more when I tell the guild."

Gramps tears up, "You're such a sweetheart."

"I also tried paying Queen Hisui back for what she did for the guild but she wouldn't have any of it. That being said, I want to donate some of it to the guild."

"You don't have to. That's your jewel dear."

"Yeah," Laxus agrees, "You could cover a lot of rent with that."

Lucy laughs, "I know I complain about that a lot but I honestly love working for it. I've never needed that kind of jewel. And I'm not going to take no for an answer, so I'm going to start up an account for Mira giving her a budget for food, supplies, alcohol, and anything else she takes care of. She'll be given a finance book to keep track of it all."

Gramps chuckles as he asks, "Did you forget about the amount that is spent on food, alcohol, and repairs?"

"Not at all, but there's one more thing I want only you two to know." She takes a deep breath, "I asked Hisui to assign a few people to the task of digging up information about my father's side of the family."

"What'd you find out?" Laxus asks.

"Before he married my mom he was," Lucy takes in a deep breath, "Jude Vermillion."

"What?"

"How is that possible?"

"After some deep diving into records, Mavis had an older brother named Jethro. Much older brother. It's safe to assume they never told Mavis. Anyway, he fought with his parents and found a way here on the mainland. He was arrested for stealing food and a couple of other little crimes. He was living on the streets trying to survive. They let him go but not before getting his identity. There are no records of magic being passed down the line. He moved to Acalypha and with the help of a friend, started up the merchant guild, Love and Lucky. The Vermillion name passed on by Jethro all worked at Love and Lucky, each one being in charge, hence why my dad worked there when he met my mom. This information makes me Mavis' Great-great-great niece or something like it."

Laxus is shocked, "wait so both of us have blood ties to the ones that started the guild."

"While not directly through Mavis, it would seem so," Lucy says.

Gramps smiles, "Never would have thought there would be a day where a Dreyar and a Vermillion would be in charge of the guild again."

"What about the Love and Lucky guild? If it was always run by a member of your dad's side who's running it now?"

"My Uncle Tull and Aunt Brielle. That's so weird to say. Even weirder to know I have a couple of cousins all of whom are married and have children themselves."

"I bet it is. So when did you want to tell the guild about your new position?"

"Before I talk to Queen Hisui. So, You and Mira have been a little too lax when it comes to people paying for food and drink. That has to stop especially between the amount that Cana drinks and Natsu eats. I don't know what the total amount is owed from everyone but I can safely say it's a large amount. With whatever reward that is left from a mission they can keep half however the other half goes to their tab until it's paid off. Whatever is ordered HAS to be paid for. That alone will help keep the guild afloat."

"But Lucy-"

"Don't worry Master, you're safe. After all the shit you put up with from us, my team specifically, you've earned it."

"You know a lot of people won't be happy about this."

"If it wasn't for Queen Hisui we'd still be elbow-deep in paperwork. I don't know about you but I don't want it to go through that again."

"So, who breaks the news?"

"Laxus. It would be good practice for when I pass the mantle to him."

Laxus grumbles. They all walk out of his office and go to the bar. Laxus helps Master onto it and stands next to him, Lucy on Laxus's other side. She offers encouraging words.

Master whistles and yells at everyone to settle down. Once he has gained all of their attention he speaks, "As you all know once I deem Laxus ready he'll be named the next Master. Now that the paperwork is done I can now help guide him when it comes to other responsibilities and give input on whether or not his ideas are good. That being said he has come to a decision that will help the guild and I fully approve. You all might as well get used to answering to him and obeying him as well now."

Laxus clears his throat, "Thanks, Gramps. So, this idea was actually Lucy's not mine."

"Thanks for throwing me under the bus."

"I'm not taking credit for something I didn't come up with."

"You just don't want anyone upset with you."

"Get on with it!" someone yells.

"Anyway, as you all know, she's been helping with the paperwork. As a matter of fact, she had done the majority of it and got the guild out of debt. Lucy managed to get Jura and Hisui to void many of the bills and saved us millions of jewels."

Gramps informs them. "Not only that but Queen Hisui has null and voided all our past dues before the war with Zeref along with apologizing on our behalf. She did this for all of the other guilds that helped save the country too."

"It helps that she has a good relationship with Queen Hisui."

"And the new council is nothing like the old one."

Laxus continues, "She's found a way to keep us out of it. From this point on you will pay for anything you order instead of putting it on your tab. As well as taking half of your reward from every mission to pay off your tab."

"Lucy can't make that decision!" Cana yells.

Laxus crosses his arms, "No, but I can approve it. Just like I can approve any ideas you might have that will help the guild."

"Remember this is something she grew up learning to do." Erza acknowledges.

"The guild isn't a business."

"No, not exactly but we still need money to keep it going," Lucy states.

"She is also going to be in charge when my team and I go on missions if she isn't already on one, so it would be in your best interest to learn to answer to her as well."

"What if both of you are on a mission? Together or separately with your teams?"

Lucy and Laxus look at each other and then at Gramps.

"It will be either I or Mira if you need any help."

"So, is that it?" Gajeel asks.

"No," Lucy rubs the back of her neck, "there's a lot more." She looks between Gramps and Laxus, "which one should I start with?"

"I advise the orphanage," Gramps states.

"Oh! I've been wondering when you were going to tell them!" Wendy says excitedly.

"Orphanage?" Mira asks.

"Yeah, when I told Queen Hisui if I was ever able to get my childhood home back I would like to make it into an orphanage and school for children who are mages or even want to become mages."

"That's awesome Lu!" Levy exclaims.

Gray puts in, "That place is perfect for something like that."

Cana looks at Lucy, "What about the other ones across the country? Regular children need just as much help."

Lucy gives Cana a soft smile, "Don't worry, Queen Hisui and I have a plan for those."

"Well because it's you Lu I trust they'll be taken care of."

Lucy nods her head in thanks then continues, "I always want to get my childhood home back but it's too big for one person to live there so it is now Fiore's Orphanage and School for Mages. It was during the clean-up after the war that I got the idea. I was helping Cana and Wendy with the orphanage here in Magnolia. Some of the kids were talking about wanting to be mages and joining a guild. In some instances, kids who join a guild don't necessarily get a proper education." Lucy casts a sideways look at Erza and Natsu. "There's also not many kids their own age." She looks at Wendy, Romeo, and Asuka. "And, I thought it would be a good idea to have them learning how to do magic somewhere that they can let loose and not have to worry about damages while honing their skills."

"Is Anna one of the teachers?" Wendy asks.

"No, I didn't want to take her away from the kids that have grown fond of her. The teachers are my previous teacher's sons or daughters. They helped me get in touch with some of the servants that used to work for my parents. Once they heard the news they immediately agreed. Everyone helping out is moved into the gardens already."

"The gardens?"

Gray chuckles, "It's not exactly what you're thinking. It is a huge garden but it has little houses for families. I mistook it for her hometown."

"Uh, just how big is this place?"

"It had to have been what 600 acres or more of land?" Happy asks.

"Uhh… maybe?"

"How can you not know?"

"I never really cared about how much land there was. Kind of pointless when I wasn't allowed to play outside. Speaking of I need a lot of help from Levy, Freed, Rufus, and anyone else who can put protective runes over the property."

Team Natsu and Laxus look at Lucy.

"Are you trying to kill them?"

"That will take forever!"

"I would love to help Lu!"

"I do too Miss Lucy."

Lucy smiles at Levy, "Thanks. Freed, would it be alright if I had Gemini copy you?"

"Of course."

"Why not me?" Levy pouts.

"It's nothing against you Levy, you're great at runes. But they're Freed's specialty and well you're also pregnant and they can't copy someone who is carrying a child."

"I was only kidding Lucy. And that makes sense, technically they would be copying two people."

"You have teachers and caretakers but what about guards to protect them?" Gramps asks her.

"Well- oof!" Lucy is unexpectedly hugged and it's even more unexpected that it's Cobra.

He tries his best not to cry in front of everyone, "You're giving us a home? Like a permanent place to stay if we so choose?"

Lucy hugs him back, "Yeah, and all you have to do in return is protect the kids." She looks over Cobra's shoulder and looks at Richard, Macbeth, Meredy, and Jellal, "All of you." Lucy knows that Jellal and Meredy want to join Fairy Tail but still wants to extend the offer to them.

"That's not a lot of people," Max says.

"No, but Cobra will be able to hear anyone trying to get close and Racer will be able to catch them since he's super-fast."

"It's Sawyer now." He pushes Cobra out of the way and hugs Lucy. Richard joins in.

"This is love! Oh yeah!"

Laxus pushes the guys off of Lucy. Cobra is one thing, he's dating and is in love with Kinana, but these other two? Nope, they can stay away.

"Oh stop Laxus, it's just a harmless hug. I'm still working on security. Richard, have you been in touch with your brother Wally? I want to ask him and Sho if they'd be interested in taking the position. All of you will be paid for it too. Same with anyone from guilds that would like to take up residence there."

"Wait, so any of us could live there and get paid to be guards?" Vijeeter asks.

"Yeah, and it doesn't have to be permanent. You'll be getting paid by Queen Hisui and you can leave whenever you want." Lucy looks at Master and Laxus, "If that's okay? I mean-"

Laxus cuts her off, "I don't have a problem with it. I would like to add that even if anyone wants it to be permanent they can still have their guild marks. The Fairy Tail emblem alone should keep people at bay from trying anything stupid."

Jellal speaks up, "Speaking of Fairy Tail guild marks, all of what's left of Crime Sorceire would like to talk about joining Fairy Tail. Wally and Sho too."

"Oh yeah! I've been able to keep in touch. They're ready to settle down somewhere. But uh Jellal the three of us have talked about joining Lamia Scale."

Jellal nods, "You're free to do as you please. I apologize for assuming."

"It's okay! Oh-yeah."

Erza smiles, "That's great. They're a fine guild."

"What about you Macbeth?"

"I'll join Fairy Tail."

Laxus nods, "Great. Anything else?"

Max asks, "What if we didn't want to take up residence there permanently? Could we stay there for a week here and there to watch over them?"

"Of course! Every little bit helps." Lucy replies.

Nab speaks up, "How much would one get paid?"

Lucy answers Nab's unexpected question, "You'll be given a free home so it won't be that much. 70,000 jewel more or less a month is what we decided. "

"That's okay with me," Nab replies.

Everyone's heads turn towards him.

"What? It would be the perfect job for me. Should any animals intent on doing any harm I can use my seith magic to keep them from harming anyone."

"But you've always stood by the request board, it will be so empty without you there."

"It's about time I do something, and I think this is it."

"Thank you, Nab," Lucy smiles at him then turns to Reedus, "Would you be willing to do portraits of the guilds to hang on the walls?"

"Oui! It will be an honor."

Laxus speaks up, "There are some kids who have the same magic as us," Laxus discreetly looks Bickslow's way, "and will need our help learning how to use it." Thankfully Lucy's spirits could provide glasses to stop the kid from harming anyone.

Before anyone can ask who Asuka yells, "Lucy! Can kids who have parents go to school there?"

"I didn't even think about that. Umm…"

"Asuka, you already go to school here in Magnolia," Alzack says to his daughter.

"Yeah…"

"Asuka, you can go there to hang out with other children whenever you want as long as it is okay with your parents. I'll just need to get you the school schedule."

"Can we visit now?"

Laxus and Lucy look at each other the little boy on their minds. Lucy turns to her guildmates, "How about in two weeks? It will give Freed, Levy, Rufus, and me time to set up Runes. Well, first I got to speak with the other guilds about this and set up times for each guild to visit separately before everyone gets together there. Okay so, Laxus, The Thunder Legion, Levy, Gajeel, Pantherlily and I will go to Sabertooth first. Ask them to keep quiet until the preparations are done. I really should have started it sooner but oh well. Then after that is done Laxus and I will go to the other guilds." Lucy rambles.

"I'm going with you?"

"Uh yeah? Not only are you my boyfriend but you're also the future master of this guild. It would be good for you to get to know the other guild masters aside from Master Bob and Master Sting."

Cobra speaks up, "Kinana and I are going with you too." Kinana nods her head.

Sawyer, Richard, and Nab say they are too. Cana puts in she's going to.

"Wow okay. Seems like half of the guild is going. Um, that's not a bad idea though. You can pick out which house you want."

"That's not fair Luce, we're your team."

"Natsu it's not like we haven't been there before," Erza says.

"But it was empty last time."

"We can wait our turn Natsu." Lisanna rubs his back.

Natsu huffs, "fine."

Laxus gets an idea, "Do you want to go to Sabertooth to tell them the news and send Rufus our way?"

"That's a good idea." Erza nods. "The rest of our team plus Lisanna can go."

Both Jellal and Juvia speak at the same time, "I'll go too." "Wherever my Gray-sama goes, I go too."

"Dammit, I want to see Ryos."

"Then have him come along too and with Rufus going Orga will be with him."

"Fuck." Laxus says.

"It'll be fine."

"Hmmph."

"Alright, this conversation went on longer than anticipated. There's one more thing to tell all of you." "What's that?"

"I got information about my dad's side of the family."

"Yeah, I always wondered about that," says Gray.

"Long story short, Mavis had an older brother, Jethro, who moved inland. He started up the Love and Lucky merchant guild with the help of a friend. Jude Vermillion, the great-great nephew of Mavis, makes me her great-great-great niece or something like it."

"Wow! That's crazy!"

"Right?"

There are many reactions to that news and once everyone has settled down Lucy lets them know that's all she wanted to tell him. If she's being honest with herself, she's surprised everyone *cough* Natsu Gray *cough* was able to behave during that. Laxus and Lucy sit with their respective teams and have a late lunch. Lucy apologizes to her team and explains the amount of damage, whether out on group or solo jobs, they cost the guild. Erza assures her that it's okay, she's just looking out for their home.

When the girls try to gang up on Lucy again, Laxus grabs her up to haul her to their office calling for Mira and Gramps to follow. Laxus sets her down on the floor and she scolds him for the treatment which he just laughs off. When they're all settled in Lucy fills Mira in on the inheritance she got. Mira promises not to tell anyone and wonders why Lucy is telling her. Lucy goes on to explain that she's putting a big chunk towards the guild and Mira will be given an account for the guild's expenditures and inventory that she takes care of.

Lucy has 13,000,000,000 jewel to work with. How much should she give to the guild? The amount spent on alcohol, food, and replacing broken items alone would cost a lot, right?

I'm taking a break for an unknown amount of time. Hopefully only a couple of months, we'll see. I need to recharge and then focus more on TTG & TCG and More Than A One Time Thing. I'm mainly on AO3 (same username as FF) and I have been promising to get a new chapter out before my break.

On AO3 I have an NSFW Lucy Smut one-shots that I've been updating weekly since September of last year, but have gotten burnt out from it. I got two requests I would like to finish before my little hiatus but I also don't want to rush them. I will eventually pick that back up at some point.

I've also been distracted by the many, many ideas I have for a Fairy Tail/My Hero Academia Crossover.

I've been taking on too much and kudos to those who can work on a plethora of stories at once!

Please, bear with me, and thank you so much for the faves, follows, and reviews. It's much appreciated!
