Jonathan was suddenly so upset. All hate was forgotten! All sorrow was forgotten! Since he realized that he was trapped…

He was in a room, with glass-walls, that was flooded with red light. The room itself was surrounded by a wide dark corridor, that was so dark that Jonathan couldn't see if there were any walls beyond.

"Hello? Where am I? Hello…" Jonathan asked and was able to lift up a bit.

He was not spellbound and not handcuffed! He also wore still the same clothes Timmy's parents gave him to change. The 'reddish' cloth that was laying over his head was actually white, but in the red light everything looked reddish. He had a bandage around his head and around his right foot.

"HELLO?!" Jonathan yelled again.

No response! Jonathan looked around. His 'cell' was an empty room. Not even a toilet! Just the mattress he was laying on. The cell was maybe half as big as his room and there was a door without a handle that was obviously locked and only be able to opened from outside.

"Hello!" Jonathan yelled. "I demand to know what is going on here!"

Jonathan flinched again when his headache suddenly got worse again. He felt dizzy again. And weak! So weak that his body was not able to stay upright…

With a loud moan Jonathan fell on his back again and the tears began to flow… realizing that he was in serious trouble… but why?

In Metropolis…

A deafening and tensing silence was laying over the motel-room after Lois told Chrissy everything. The secret, about Clark and Jordan's powers, about Jonathan's problems and her own issues. Chrissy was shocked… and that not too less.

"And the worst is that I don't stop blaming others. My first thought when Jonathan left, was to punish him for leaving and shocking us so much. After our first talk in front of his friend's house, I yelled on Clark and Jordan. And after hearing everything over the ELT, the first thing I did was yelling on Clark again and thinking about punishing Jordan. But now that I think more about it, I am the one who is to blame, too! Jonathan told me! I saw how much he was struggling! And I was too focused on my hunt for Morgan Edge or later Ally Allston! I mean… I should have taken the time for him too. And his problems were easier to solve!"

Lois was so deeply sunken in despair that she didn't notice that Chrissy was totally pale and shocked about the recent revelations. Clark Kent is Superman? But he is so dorky?! Jordan has superpowers? How can Jonathan be the son of Superman and doesn't have powers on his own? How could you hide this for so long? How could you not see who Morgan Edge is?

"And to make it worse, everything I try to make amends for it, only seems to worse it! My marriage is in shatters, Jonathan is so mad on me that he might never forgive me, I ruined Jordan's self-confidence and Lana might see all of this only as a confirmation that our friendship is only build up on lies! And I would totally understand if you will say the same now! Chrissy…?"

Lois looked on Chrissy who was pale and looked on Lois with big eyes…

"Ehm… I… ehm…" Chrissy was overwhelmed and only stuttered.

"Gosh… I know this is a lot! But I just don't know what to do anymore! I am supposed to be an extraordinary human, but instead of showing Jonathan how to be one by himself and helping him, I selfishly cared only about my work. I mean… at least we got radio?! I mocked him?! I should have yelled on Clark instead to come back and take Jonathan with them! Every other woman would have already divorced Clark and taken Jonathan back to Metropolis. But I? I was too focused on my work to see that I only hurt my children with my always-getting-in-danger-attitude! Chrissy… please say something!"

"Ehm… you… ehm… You… divorce Clark?" Chrissy stuttered.

"Oh my god…" Lois cried up. She never dared that she could one day do the same as her own mother. "I had never heard from her again. I never figured out the true reason for her leaving! Well… but unlike her, I would really have a reason to leave Clark! I mean Jonathan is suffering! On one side, I think we should all stick together as a family, but on the other side I think that it is better for Jonathan if I move with him back to Metropolis! Away from the superhero-training, he is not allowed to attend and away from the people who hate him! At least until he is better…"

Full of sorrow, Lois looked on her phone to see that she had ten missed calls from Clark, six missed calls from Sam, five from Chrissy, three from Jordan, two from Nat, two from John-Henry and each one from various other numbers she guessed where former colleagues from the Daily-Planet to ask her about that embarrassing picture going viral…

"I wonder, if it can even get worse?" Lois murmured and opened WhatsApp to finally read Clark's messages about the mold he found in the boys' school when suddenly someone knocked on the door.

"Do you expect someone?" Chrissy asked surprised.

"No!" Lois said surprised, too. "Chrissy… would you please… if it is my father, I don't talk to him anymore!"

Chrissy, still trembling from the latest revelation that she knows Superman in person, walked with sweating hands to the door to open it…

Chrissy barely opened the door when it was pushed open violently by two armed soldiers who stormed into the room and arrested the two totally stunned woman…

Lois couldn't even scream before she was grabbed, and her mouth got hold close. The only thing she did was grabbing after her non-present ELT again…

"Lois Lane, you come with us!" the taller of the two men said harshly while his colleague handcuffed Chrissy who was too scared to scream by herself.

Lois suddenly realized that it indeed could get worse…

A cold shiver ran down Clark's back while he was sitting in Smallville on Jonathan's bed…

After the CPS-lady left, Clark looked through the box with Martha's belongings, Jonathan kept for some reason.

He found handwritten notes that let him doubt if Martha really wanted him to move here: There was a calculation of her mortgage. A list of names of their neighbors with acre-areas. And a possible outcome if they sold the farmhouse and possible costs for materials to renovate. Martha had been a fan of house-flipping-shows lately!

Clark thought more and more about it. If they had remained in Metropolis, a lot of things would have developed differently. Suddenly his Martha-imagination stood in front of him again and shook her head in disappointment…

"If I had known this, I would have taken Jonathan with me and left!"

Clark closed his eyes again and suppressed his tears. If Martha would be with them now, she would kick him out and disown him. And she would not congratulate Jordan for his flying! She would rush to Metropolis on her own to get Jonathan out of Belle-Reeve and then look for an apartment for both of them in Metropolis to get him back to his old school.

Clark took the coloring-book again and looked through it. Martha probably kept it to remind Clark one day that he should tell the boys the secret. She was always insisting on him telling it to the boys. And she would have kept sure that he takes both boys to the fortress. And not only Jordan!

While browsing through the coloring-book, Clark suddenly found a page that was torn out…

Clark's eyes wandered immediately to the trash-bin where he found some torn pieces of paper. It was the page from the coloring-book. Clark took the scraps of paper and used his superspeed to put them together again on Jonathan's desk. It was a page titled: Color yourself as hero!

Tears shot in his eyes when he saw the leftovers of the cute drawing his son made at age of five! Himself, in a blue suit with the Superman-symbol, taller than a house. And on top of it, little Jonathan clued a photo of himself where the head was. Clark became moody again…

He was there when Jonathan got the coloring-book on his fifth birthday from Martha. Jordan got the same one. He was there when Jonathan made this drawing. It was the morning, Jonathan talked about his plan to ask Superman for flying lessons if he ever meets him. Clark shuddered again when he thought about his yesterday's flying-lesson with Jordan. About Jonathan who comes here into this room, remembers this drawing and tears it out to destroy it to prevent anyone from ever seeing it because it was ashaming for him…

But now Clark was full of shame. In total despair, Clark rushed out to fly to the hospital by himself… No matter if they allow him to see him, or not…

In all his rush, he didn't notice the truck approaching the farm…

In school, all students were full of mixed feelings…

One minute before lunch break was over, there was suddenly an announcement that all classes for the rest of the day are cancelled and that everyone is requested to go home immediately and that all clubs and extracurriculars are cancelled for today, too…

For Jordan it was a reason to be happy. Since it would mean he can go back to Metropolis. But Natalie knew that and was ready to stop him if necessary…

"You don't understand it…"

"I might not! But I understand why Jon is mad and upset on you!" Natalie interfered. "And don't even say that I can't stop you! You might have powers, but I have the technology to weak you! Not to forget that my father will tell your parents if you go there on yourself again."

"I just want to get to Jon!" Jordan cried again.

Seeing the tears flow down her half-brother's face, let Natalie become sad, too. She gave him a tight hug.

"Hey… there there… Jon is strong! He will be all right!"

Suddenly there was another announcement…

"Attention, please! Jordan Kent is requested to come to the principal's office urgently! Jordan Kent please!" the voice of Balcomb's secretary echoed through the corridor.

"What? I didn't do anything!" Jordan murmured.

"Maybe they figured out something about your brother?" Natalie guessed. Jordan nodded and left before Natalie murmured: "Or they know that you left the campus?"

She didn't tell anyone that Jordan left, but she could guess that someone noticed and that he gets in trouble now.

"NAT!" Sarah suddenly yelled when she came into the corridor again. "Where is Jordan?"

"He got called to the principal's office!" Natalie told, realizing that Sarah might have not heard it outside.

"What? But he has to see that…" Sarah wailed.

"See what?"

Sarah pulled Natalie outside so they could both witness Coach Gaines handcuffed. Two men pulled the wildly yelling and shouting man into a van while a third one hold the door open, and a fourth one escorted the crying and also handcuffed Candice.

"What the…" Natalie said.

Dozens watched it, many filmed it with their phones, and everyone was either amused, or shocked, or scared, or all of it at the same time.

"I am sorry… I am so so sorry…" Candice wailed loudly.

All while Gaines loudly yelled: "This is Kent's fault! Jonathan Kent has faked that! Arrest him instead!"

"Jonathan Kent is in hospital! He can't be the one responsible!" one of the agents yelled loud enough for everyone to hear. "Stop that scapegoating! It's over!"

"You are all going to pay for that!" Gaines yelled while he was loaded into the van. Followed by the still crying Candice.

"…everyone please go home… there is nothing to see here…" Balcomb suddenly yelled through a megaphone. In her face it was visible that she was scared and upset on her own. "…there will be an explanation tomorrow. Please everyone goes home now…"

"Principal Balcomb?! Didn't you just call Jordan to your office?" Natalie asked confused.

"I am here! How should I have done that? Ask my secretary!" Balcomb yelled with her megaphone directly into Natalie's face, forcing her to step away.

Natalie, annoyed by this unnecessary act, wondered who else called for Jordan…

Latter entered the secretary's office right before Balcomb's office, hoping that there was any news about his brother. He was surprised to find a man in an FBI-jacket harshly ordering Balcomb's secretary to pack up files into a box. Two more boxes with files were already prepared to be brought away.

"Hey, what's going on here?" Jordan asked.

"Jordan Kent?" suddenly a foreign woman with a clip folder in her hands approached him.

"Yes!"

"I am Dawn Philipson! Kansas-School-authority!" the woman introduced herself and reached out her hand for a handshake that Jordan returned. "I am here to investigate in the case of your brother! We received a call from a football-coach in Metropolis who informed us about your brother! Looks like he was the victim of a conspiracy!"

"A conspiracy?!" Jordan asked shocked. "A football coach… oh… Coach Colossus! That was so clear!"

"Colossus? The man who called us was named Patterson. And yes! You want to help your brother, do you?"

"Yes, more than anything!"

"In that case, it would be great if we could talk somewhere undisturbed. I have some questions and I need your input!" the woman told.

"I am willing to do everything to help my brother!" Jordan wailed and followed the woman into an empty classroom.

On the way out, he heard the woman telling the present FBI-agent that she will take care of the young man. And Jordan could hear the man harshly ordering to the secretary to hand out all files of all students who used to be in the football-team over the past ten years.

The were in a small mini classroom now, that was usually not used, and the woman asked Jordan to sit down at a desk in the last row.

"You and your brother are twins I heard? Are you two close?"

"We are… actually… but… we drifted apart over the past months! I want to make amends for it! How can I help him?"

"By answering me a few questions! I am still trying to get an overview of everything that goes wrong in this school…"

Suddenly the door opened, and another woman peeked into the room.

"Sorry, Mrs. Phillipson! But there is a member of the football-team who would like to make a confession. Could you please…"

"Oh, yes!" the woman said and lift from her own seat again. "I am sorry Mr. Kent… Please wait, I'll be right back!"

"Sure!" Jordan said and looked after the woman who left her documents behind.

He was still upset; his heart was pounding… he was scared to use his hearing again to listen if he can hear his brother saying something. Knowing that this was what made Jonathan sick in the first place. He got headache! He felt tired… very tired… he barely slept last night, but usually a bit sun was enough for him to stay awake… maybe it is the stress? The worry for his brother?

Jordan felt so tired, he thought he could sleep immediately. Maybe because since his brother left, it was the first time he felt as if someone is seriously interested in really helping his brother! And because this could be for him a chance to help Jon without using powers! Since his powers were the reason Jon felt bad and he feared that it could just worse his brother's condition. Jordan smiled…

Jordan felt more and more that urge to sleep. He was so tired. But that didn't stop him from curiously peeking into the file that the woman left, to see what they have against Gaines and if they really want to help Jon? If Coach Patterson from Metropolis called them they should be on his brother's side!

He suddenly got headache when he opened the file and saw that the first page was empty. Jordan leaned forward and looked through the papers. All documents were empty blank sheets of paper…

"What… the… ughhh…"

Jordan had no time to wonder what is going on here, before he fell asleep from the gas that was inserted into the room…

"That was easier than expected!" 'Mrs. Phillipson' said when she came in again with a wet cloth over her face.

"Is he even a Kryptonian, too?" the other woman asked when she followed her into the room and helped her to place a mask with more sedativing gas over Jordan's face.

"They are twins! He has to be! And now come on… we have to get him to the base before anyone notices his absence!"

Jordan, in all his worry about his brother, didn't notice that he was running into a trap…

In Metropolis…

Clark was nervously pacing up and down in the waiting area. Wondering why nobody wants to give him any information about his son.

When he flew over to the hospital, he went straight to the emergency-room. Luckily the nurse had no information about the CPS and the police being involved and told him that Jonathan was out of the emergency-room and that he was fine. She asked him to wait while she tries to get his doctor. Thankfully Clark went to the waiting area and waited…

That was almost two hours ago. And every time he went to the desk, another nurse told him that she has no information about Jonathan and will ask the doctor. But the shift of the doctor who examined Jonathan when he was brought in was already over and nobody seemed to know anything. Clark was ordered to wait. But the more he was waiting, the more worried he became.

Was it maybe purpose? Did the police tell them to let him wait? Or the CPS? Gosh, just thinking about Jonathan getting taken away from them let Clark feel even worse.

Clark tried to distract himself by watching the news, where they reported about his fight with Ally and warned the people from getting close to her. Then he tried it with reading some of the magazines in the waiting area. But they were all from last month! He didn't dare to listen to the world. Hearing a disaster somewhere would force him to leave and he didn't want to miss it when they tell him that Jonathan is fine. Anyway, the world seemed fine. At least he didn't hear anything bad. Almost as if the world was merciful with him today and wanted to give him a break to look after his family. Or at least after what was left of it!

He heard what happened in this hospital. A baby was born, a woman got told that her cancer got better, a man got told that his son needed a surgery, another man received a cancer diagnosis, a nurse tried to convince a woman to leave her violent husband and report him to the police, a crying child was comforted by another nurse because it was scared from getting an injection, a doctor talked to a police officer about the injuries of an abused child he treated…

Clark shuddered when he heard that. Not because he felt even worse for that what happened to Jonathan but also because off all the shit that is happening daily in the world! He had the luck to grow up in a cared environment. He always wanted the same for his own sons. But Jordan's anxiety (he starts to believe was because of his own absences and his lack of presence in the past, too) and Jonathan's recent breakdown were prove that he failed. Every day, so many bad things happen in the world. Every day, people get hurt by those who should care and love them. And despite his best efforts, people continued committing crimes, being selfish and hurting others out of pure sadism or greed.

"Why the world is such a bad place?" Clark murmured.

Suddenly a familiar voice pulled him out of his thoughts… Timmy's!

"Jon will be so happy to see you again!" Timmy said to someone.

Clark turned his head towards the entry and used his x-ray-vision to see Timmy and a tall man, who had a shocking similarity with David Fugglestad (one of his half-brother's eradicated henchmen he fought in that motel last year). Timmy had a present-basket and a foil-balloon with the words 'GET WELL SOON' written on it with him and looked confident. The tall man next to him was talking on his phone.

"Thank you…" he said and ended a call. "That was the school-authority! Looks like they found enough proof to get that guy fired."

"That would be great! And I talked with Jay just a minute ago, he said they found even more in… OH…" Timmy suddenly stopped, and Clark realized that Timmy saw him. Clark focused his view back to normal and saw how Timmy looked on him accusingly. In reflex Clark turned his head away but could still hear him. "Gosh, that he dares to show up here?"

Clark felt even worse after that sentence. He looked back on Timmy who went closer. The man who was with him looked on Clark as if he was a criminal.

"Mister Kent?!"

"Timmy!" Clark greeted him and offered his hand for a handshake that the boy didn't return before looking on the man. "And… ehm… you are…?"

Coach Patterson crossed his arms and looked annoyed: "I played the Russian metal-mutant in X-Men!"

"Oh, nice…" Clark said, believing it.

"No! I am Joe Patterson! I was your son's football-coach here in Metropolis!" Timmy's uncle said and took Clark's hand to give him a handshake with the purpose to let Clark flinch under his grip. But Clark didn't flinch (Superman is stronger). The man ignored Clark's unpredicted reaction. "You would know that if you would have come to any of the events all player's parents were invited to."

Clark was ashamed again. He missed a lot of things in Jonathan's life. With Jordan, too but with Jordan he was better! Clark decided to not to say anything. Knowing that he would just worse everything if he says work, or Jordan, or emergencies.

"Timmy, why not you go and ask in which room Jonathan is!" the man said to the boy to send him away. "And I talk a little bit with Jonathan's dad!"

"Yes, Uncle Joe!"

"Uncle?" Clark asked surprised but he got already pulled over to a vacant seat row in the waiting-area while he also looked back and forth between Timmy and the man.

"Mister Kent…" the man began.

"I am not beating my son! The incident with the pager was an accident! And I am here because I want to apologize to my son! I know I don't deserve to be called Father-of-the-year, but I want to make amends for it!" Clark immediately got defensive.

"Mister Kent… In my job… I need to be a person, the students trust! And in my school… the players, but also many others, know that they can come to me if they have a problem. Your son… Jonathan… had such a passion! Such a eagerness! A real Superboy!"

Clark shuddered at the last sentence. Does the man suspect anything or is it just a coincidence! Clark guessed it was latter, since Jonathan really had everything, it needs to be a better Superboy than his brother! Powers taken aside!

"I not only saw that Jonathan has a lot of talent, but he was also lonely! Sure, he had his brother, he had friends, but what he was really missing was a fatherly figure…"

Clark got even paler. Timmy's uncle crossed his arms again and turned more to him.

"…you know… when Jonathan told me and the previous head coach…" suddenly the man made a break and looked on Clark. "Coach…?"

Clark tried to remember the name: "Ehm… something Polish! Ehm… Kowalski?"

"Kaminski!" Timmy's uncle corrected him, letting Clark even be more ashamed. Does not even know the name of his son's coach. "You should know his name! Wasn't it he who signed the recommendation-letter for that coach and who apologized to you for the incident after the game when Jimmy Cutter and his friends hurt your sons?"

"Ehm… yes!" Clark confessed.

"Well, Mr. Kent… I was happy for your son when he told me that you want to be more around and spend more time with him. What I didn't expect was that you obviously helped your other son to cheat and that you gave your other son into the hands of a man who has no problem with abusing his authority and hurting his players!"

"Coach Gaines?"

"Oh, that name you know?!" Timmy's uncle moaned. "Mr. Kent, I have reported Coach Gaines to the school-authority!"

"You did what?" Clark yelled loud enough to let the people look on him.

"Mr. Kent, I had to do it! After everything I heard I had no other choice!"

"But he is…"

"I don't care that he is from your hometown or whatever you think about that place! After Timmy told me what Jonathan told him, I made some research. Do you know that Coach Gaines regularly posts offending stuff about his players in social media? Including some really terrible things about your son?"

"No!" Clark confessed ashamed.

"You know, if I would do that with my players, I would get fired immediately. And not only that, I could also be charged for child-abuse! The whole story of your son makes no sense to me… How can two renowned reporters, who are famous for uncovering some of the worst things in the past decades, not see the bad things going on in their own son's lives?"

Clark blushed. This was even worse than his talk with the police-detective or with the CPS-lady. He was Superman, but he felt so weak and small next to Coach 'Colossus'. Maybe because he knew that he was the bad guy in this story.

"I tell you why! It is without doubt, because of that ominous 'thing' that's going on between you and your other son that lets you forget everything else! When I heard about what happened to Jonathan, I cancelled the training for today, just to get here! But you…? What is it Mr. Kent? What is the thing?"

"Ehm…" Clark got even paler, if this was even possible. "…I can't tell you!"

"Mr. Kent, your son is suffering under it! And when it hurts him, it is obviously something either illegal, or bad! What is the thing, Mr. Kent?"

Clark got even more scared. He couldn't tell this man that he is Superman, and that Jordan has powers and Jonathan not…

To make it worse, Lara called again…

"Kal, Jonathan's lack of powers does not justify that you don't bring him here to let him learn about his heritage! Bring him here!"

"I am on it, mother!" Clark blurted out loudly before holding his mouth embarrassed. The people, and especially Timmy's uncle, all looked on him confused.

"Mother?!"

Clark looked at the man again and was embarrassed. Before he could respond to this, suddenly Timmy came back. Pale and out of breath.

"Jon is gone!"

"Gone?!" both men exclaimed and lift from their seats.

"Timmy, what is this meaning?" Clark asked shocked.

"Nobody knew where he was, so I asked around. Nobody wanted to give me any information! So, I asked some patients. And one said he remembers how Jon got brought away on the order of a man in a military uniform. And that that man, also ordered all nurses to hold back information!"

"A man in a military-uniform?" Clark yelled shocked. Suddenly a really bad feeling overcame him. "Was he from the DOD?"

"Why? Is this some sick attempt of his grandfather to…"

"TIMMY… Please, what else did he say?" Clark yelled, grabbing Timmy by his shoulders.

"WOAH… BACK OFF!" Timmy yelled back.

"Hey, hands off my nephew!" Coach Patterson interfered now angrily.

Clark shied away from the boy, turned around and ran away.

"What was that?" Timmy asked shocked and looked after Clark who ran (at human speed) away.

"Something is wrong here!" his uncle said.

"I don't like this!" Timmy murmured, handed his uncle the balloon and the present-basket and start to run after Clark. "MR. KENT…"

Timmy ran until he reached the entrance and was outside. But Clark Kent was nowhere to be seen anymore. Suddenly Timmy overcame a terrible suspicion… he took his phone to report Jonathan missed…

"Hello… Detective Parker…. This is Timmy Tanner! It's about my friend Jon… yes, because of that incident at my house yesterday… Detective Parker, that might sound far-fetched, but I think Jon's grandfather used his army-connections to let him get kidnapped!"
