A 9 year old Naruto was walking stealthily in a direction other than where the deer were and this caught his attention quite a bit.
"Mrs. Faye..."
The woman with reddish blonde hair tied in a braid and deep blue eyes stopped her advance and looked at the boy with exotic black hair, it really was a totally unique color and shape because no one in the 9 realms has it.
"Yes, Naruto?" said Faye with a smile as she saw her youngest son's confusion.
The spiky black-haired boy hesitated to ask the next question, but plucked up the courage and did so without fear (at least for now).
"Why did you choose to hunt with me?" asked Naruto with a curious expression as it was more than obvious that this was not a hunt. "I hope they haven't found out anything..." He thought to himself with a touch of nervousness at the possibility that his adoptive family knew something about his past.
The ice giant left her bow next to the quiver and hooked it on a nearby tree so she could better move for the next thing to come.
"I want to see how much you learned from your father over the years," Faye replied with the same smile.
Our beloved protagonist even though he was still a child, he wasn't just any child, his position as a reincarnated gave him (many) advantages... maybe he wasn't as smart as his older brother, but he still wasn't dumb.
"Okay." Naruto agreed without complaining and somewhat excited because he had never fought against his adoptive mother, and he wanted to test how strong she was. "Should I go all out or will I better hold back?" He thought with a frown because he didn't like to hold back, but he also didn't want to hurt an important person like the blue-eyed woman.
They both got into their respective combat poses, she prepared her Leviathan axe (which she called by stretching out her right hand) and he just put both fists in front of his face.
The first to react was Naruto who quickly charged at his mother, but before attacking her he removed his right hand from her face and brought it to the side of her body with the intention of forming a Rasengan.
"Oh?" said Faye with a touch of interest at that action of her son, but without wasting any time she threw the Leviathan axe towards the latter and waited to see how he reacted to her attack.
Naruto continued to advance with no signs of wanting to dodge his mother's axe, but before said object could hurt him, he disappeared in a cloud of smoke (Kawarimi no Jutsu) and left behind a tree trunk.
"What-"
Faye didn't get to finish her words because she immediately had to jump backwards because her youngest son appeared above her ready to kick her hard.
"My, my... that was an interesting trick, Naruto." Faye praised still with a surprised expression as she looked at the peculiar boy. "He's stronger than I thought...I shouldn't have underestimated him." She thought as she averted her gaze to his axe, which was embedded in the trunk...she still didn't understand how he did something like that because she was sure that wasn't magic.
The spiky black-haired boy slowly nodded his head, but never let his guard down in front of the woman with exotic reddish-blonde hair.
"Well... it'll be fist to fist this time." Faye commented this time with a bright smile as she at great speed positioned herself in front of the boy with striking black eyes, and followed up with a right.
Somehow, Naruto managed to block his mother's punch as he formed a cross with his arms, but he couldn't avoid the kick that hit his right side causing him to go flying into a tree... he felt all the oxygen in his lungs go out. Luckily this did not last long and he ended up healing a little inside with his Chakra, leaving only his superficial wounds.
"Even though he's at a disadvantage. he adapts to the fight... he's certainly a very special boy," thought Faye with a surprised expression as she saw how her youngest son got up from between the tree split in half, not caring about the wounds on his body.
This time, Naruto increased his speed and threw a punch at his mother, which was stopped by her hand. From the surprised expression of the Ice Jötun (giant) it must have been a strong attack on her part.
"I surrender. You win, Naruto," Faye said with a proud smile and also formed a grimace as she felt her hand a little numb from the mortal boy's strength, he really was special. "Because I feel like he held back...?" She thought with an amused glint in her striking blue eyes because she had to admit she was curious how far he could go in strength and speed, plus she wanted to see what other interesting tricks he was hiding from them.
When the battle between mother and son was over, they both sat on a large stone to gaze at the frozen river which was very soothing to the soul.
"Naruto." Faye called the mortal boy once she cured him with her magic, yes she knew how to do this and she did it because her son was not a god to be able to heal himself.
Our beloved protagonist stopped looking at the log (the one he used to replace himself) in his hands, which is covered with a thick layer of ice made by the Leviathan axe the moment it was embedded, but he was also thankful for his mother's healing magic because it relieved the pain in his body and obviously healed his superficial wounds... curiously when his body healed after a hard fight he felt stronger than before.
"Yes, Ms. Faye?" said Naruto with a touch of curiosity as he set a certain frozen log down beside him.
The reddish blonde haired woman didn't answer right away because she was apparently thinking whether to say the following or not, but in the end she did because she didn't want to omit it anymore.
"Take care of Loki and Kratos for me when I'm gone," Faye requested with her eyes closed... she seemed to be immersed in something very important in her mind.
That was so unexpected that Naruto didn't know what to say... though he did notice his mother referred to his older brother as 'Loki', but he kept quiet and didn't say anything about it.
"I know they are strong... especially Kratos," Faye said with a playful tone as she opened her eyes that reflected a great amount of peace to the point of infecting said feeling to the people around her.
The spiky black-haired boy swallowed as he remembered the training with his father. Although the training was worth it because now he can defend himself from Kratos-san's attacks, something that didn't happen so much before and he would end up losing after less than a minute.
"But you, Naruto. You are special, I'm sure you will do great things in the future," Faye assured as she opened her eyes and focused them on her youngest son waiting for an answer.
The little boy with dark eyes like coal nodded his head accompanied by a smile.
"I will, Mrs. Faye," Naruto promised with absolute determination without a moment's hesitation. "I never break a promise!" He assured with his right fist clenched in front of his face.
The deep blue-eyed woman apparently knew her youngest son's answer because she never removed the proud smile from her lips... even knowing that her death was getting closer and closer to claiming her.

Omake 2
It hadn't been long since Naruto did that little Rasengan and now that he knew he could use Chakra he decided to try another one of his iconic techniques that he used so many times that it didn't hurt to do the hand scowl.
"Kage Bunshin no Jutsu..."
A cloud of smoke appeared in front of the spiky black haired boy and from it appeared a perfect cup of himself, in other words, a shadow clone.
"It worked..."
Naruto's clone formed the universal peace sign with his right hand, but also made a mocking smile.
"Of course, copy mine... after all, between the two of us, I'm the fucking love!".
The charcoal-dark-eyed boy let out a long weary sigh at those words that brought back many memories of his past life.
"I hope I don't have another clone rebellion..."
The clone didn't take those words from his creator very well and immediately turned hostile.
"Who are you calling, clone, you're the damn clone!"
Naruto couldn't help but slap his face with his right hand at this development.
"Not again..."
