Episode 326: Three For Three Hoenn Style!
It was now the day of the three-on-three rounds. Once that was done, the remaining 32 Trainers will advance to the finals. Sora exchanged Tropius, Glalie, Zangoose, and Seviper for Medicham, Breloom, Camerupt, and Absol. Sora and Pikachu stood with Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Wes, Rui, Michael, Max, Lisia, Zinnia, Rei, Wally, Jay, and the Pokémon to see how it's going to go down.
"So, which stadium is Sora to be in?" Ventus asked.
"According to this, Sora is battling in Stadium A today, and that's going to be the second battle. Brendan and Wally will be having theirs in Stadium C and E at the same time as the first ones. And Morrison will be having his as the fourth one being held in Stadium A," Max said.
"Cool, we'll be at the same stadium!" Morrison said.
"Yeah, but before yours," Sora said.
"Yeah, I know, but I'm still going to win! You best do the same, Sora!" Morrison said.
"You can count on that. I have my support right here," Sora said as his sister, girlfriend, and cousin all nodded.
"Now, let's see who Sora is going up against today," Ash said, looking at the screen and he gasped when he saw Sora is up against Blake next. "Guys! Look!" Everyone all looked at the board and they saw Sora's opponent is going to be Blake.
"I don't believe it! Blake?!" Leaf exclaimed.
"I had a feeling that I would end up being paired with him or Nora in the next battle," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
Over to Ben and his apprentices, they saw that Blake is going to be up against Sora.
"So Blake's next opponent is going to be one of Rei's apprentices?" Gilbert asked.
"It seems so, Gilbert. Elise, I don't want to put pressure on you just because it's your sister's nephew out there," Ben said.
"I know, Master. So I planned on rooting for the both of them, not showing any favoritism to either one of them," Elise said.
"I feel the same way, Elise. Sora is a skilled Pokémon Trainer, so we all know that since we all watched it. Blake, just don't get careless out there," Hikaru warned.
"Don't worry about me, Hikaru. I can handle myself just fine out there," Blake said.
"I know you can, Blake, but Hikaru is right. If you get careless, then Sora will take advantage of your carelessness and use it to his advantage," Ben warned.
"Right, Master," Blake said.
Brendan and Wally have won their battles in their separate stadiums as did Tyson and Harrison. After the first battle in Stadium A had concluded, Sora and Blake were up next. Sora decided to use Breloom, Torkoal, and Camerupt for this battle, so Sora knew he wouldn't find it easy even with Breloom as a Fighting-type Pokémon.
After their battles Brendan and Wally rejoined the group to watch Sora and Blake have their battle. Lisia was trying to make up her mind rather if she should root for Sora because he's her friend, or for Blake since she fell in love with him when she first met him.
"Ladies and gentlemen, our second battle here in Stadium A is about to begin! On the left is Sora from Pallet Town while coming from the right is Blake from Spikemuth! Both these young Pokémon Trainers have made it their way after three victories in the previous round, and only one of these two will be moving on afterwards! Let's see which will it be! To those who forgot, these battles are single battles which will be three Pokémon per Trainer, so the battle is not over until all three of either Trainer's Pokémon are unable to continue battling!" The announcer announced as the referee walked in to begin the match.
"Trainers! Choose your first Pokémon and begin!" The referee called out as Sora and Blake each took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Nuzleaf! Go!" Blake called out. His Pokéball opened and his Nuzleaf emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"Breloom! Go!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and his Breloom emerged from inside, ready to battle. Stars swirls around Breloom upon entry.
"Blake has chosen Nuzleaf as Sora has sent out a Shiny Breloom as their first Pokémon! Sora has the advantage since Breloom is a Fighting-type Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Breloom! Use Mach Punch!" Sora ordered. Breloom dashed at Nuzleaf with a Mach Punch.
"Nuzleaf! Dodge it!" Blake called out. Nuzleaf dodged Breloom's Mach Punch with incredible speed.
"Nuzleaf dodges Breloom's Mach Punch with incredible speed!" The announcer announced.
"Use Bullet Seed!" Blake ordered. Nuzleaf fired Bullet Seed at the Shiny Mushroom Pokémon.
"Dodge it, Breloom!" Sora called out. Breloom dodged Nueaf's Bullet Seed with his speed as well. "Use Energy Ball!" Breloom creates a green ball of energy and threw it at Nuzleaf. Nuzleaf is struck by Breloom's Energy Ball.
"Breloom lands a decent hit with its Energy Ball!" The announcer announced.
"Nuzleaf! Dark Pulse!" Blake ordered. Nuzleaf unleashed Dark Pulse, landing a hit onto Breloom before Sora could tell him to dodge.
"Nuzleaf is dealing some devastating damage with its Dark Pulse!" The announcer announced.
"Breloom! Sky Uppercut! Let's go!" Sora ordered. Breloom plows through Nuzleaf's Sky Uppercut with his claws.
"Breloom is coming right towards Nuzleaf with a Sky Uppercut ready to go!" The announcer announced.
"Nuzleaf, get away from there!" Blake called out. Nuzleaf tried to get away, but Breloom lands a hit with a Sky Uppercut, sending the Wily Pokémon flying in the air.
"Breloom landed a brutal blow with that Sky Uppercut!" The announcer announced as Nuzleaf started to come down. "And Nuzleaf is coming down fast!" Nuzleaf lands on the ground, beaten.
"Nuzleaf is unable to battle! Breloom wins!" The referee announced.
"Once again, Sora has taken the lead in this battle! Blake will have to think quickly if he wants to stay in this battle!" The announcer announced as Blake calls his Nuzleaf back.
"Wow, Sora's Breloom took down Blake's Nuzleaf so easily," Ventus said.
"Maybe too easily," Wes said. Ventus looked right at him.
"What do you mean by that, Wes?" Ventus asked.
"Clearly he knew his Nuzleaf was at a disadvantage, but Nuzleaf didn't put up much a fight, so I think something is up," Wes said.
"Get some rest, Nuzleaf. You've earned it. And you've done your part, so we'll handle the rest," Blake said. He took out his next Pokéball. "Your Breloom is very impressive, I'll admit that, but your Breloom's Fighting-type moves won't even touch my next one!" He threw it. "Sableye! Go!" His Pokéball opened and his Sableye emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"Blake has sent out his Sableye to deal with Breloom! I'd say Blake has made a very wise move because it's common knowledge that Fighting-type moves have zero effect on Ghost-type Pokémon like Sableye!" The announcer announced.
"Better call Breloom back," Sora said.
"I think not! Mean Look!" Blake ordered. Sableye uses a Mean Look to entrap Breloom, preventing Sora from calling Breloom back to his Pokéball.
"Sableye uses Mean Look to keep Sora from switching Pokémon! Blake really wants to turn this battle around and fast!" The announcer announced.
"Great, Sableye's Mean Look is going to make it even harder for Sora," Michael said.
"Maybe, that's the idea," Wes said.
"The idea? Are you saying Blake was planning this from the very start?" Ethan asked.
"Yes. If I have to guess, he sent out his Nuzleaf as a way to know what he was getting himself into, and since Sora has sent out his Breloom, a Fighting-type Pokémon, he sent out his Sableye to counter any Fighting-types since Mach Punch and Sky Uppercut won't affect it," Wes said.
"You mean Nuzleaf was only the bait?" Lyra asked.
"Rill?" Marill asked.
"Yeah, and Sora took it," Wes said.
"You know, that makes a lot of sense. Blake might have won this battle already," Riku said.
"Sableye! Use Psychic!" Blake ordered. Sableye uses Psychic to lift Breloom up into the air.
"Uh-oh! Breloom is in big trouble, because it's in a Psychic hold! It looks like the tables are about to turn on Sora!" The announcer announced. Sableye slams Breloom down on the ground, beaten.
"Breloom is unable to battle! Sableye wins!" The referee announced.
"Blake is starting to make a comeback! Sora will have to get himself a new ace up his sleeve to beat this opponent!" The announcer announced. Sora called back his Breloom and he sighed.
"Sorry, Breloom. Get yourself a good rest," Sora said. He said in his thoughts, "It's a good thing I decided not to use Medicham for this match because Sableye might know at least one Ghost-type move. I think I know who to choose next." Sora took out his next Pokéball and threw it. He called out, "Go! Torkoal!" His Pokéball opened and his Torkoal emerged from inside, spewing smoke upon entry.
"Sora's second Pokémon is a Torkoal! That seems to be an interesting choice to make on Sora's part!" The announcer announced.
"So it's not another Fighting-type like I thought. Just a Fire-type. Like that matters to me. Sableye! Shadow Claw!" Blake ordered. Sableye came at Torkoal with a Shadow Claw.
"Here comes Sableye with that Shadow Claw!" The announcer announced.
"Protect!" Sora ordered. Torkoal withdraws in his shell, creating a protective barrier. Sableye's Shadow Claw bounced right off. "Use Flamethrower!" Torkoal unleashed a Flamethrower, hitting Sableye on the mark.
"Torkoal defends itself with that Protect, followed by a Flamethrower at close range!" The announcer announced.
"Use Heat Wave!" Sora ordered. Torkoal fired a Heat Wave at the Darkness Pokémon, landing a hit.
"Torkoal is making good use of its Fire-type moves against this Dark and Ghost-type Pokémon! How is Blake gonna turn this around?" The announcer asked.
"Sableye! Mean Look!" Blake ordered. Sableye uses Mean Look on Torkoal, same as Breloom.
"Sableye has marked its opponent with another Mean Look! Blake wants to make sure Sora doesn't change Pokémon at all!" The announcer announced.
"Use Psychic!" Blake ordered.
"Protect!" Sora ordered. Torkoal withdrew in his shell again and creates another protective barrier, canceling out Sableye's Psychic.
"Torkoal defends itself with another Protect!" The announcer announced.
"Use Heat Wave!" Sora ordered.
"Dodge it, Sableye!" Blake called out. Sableye managed to dodge Torkoal's Heat Wave.
"Sableye isn't making it any easier for Torkoal to land its Heat Wave! Blake is taking advantage of Torkoal's slow-moving speed!" The announcer announced.
"Torkoal isn't landing a single hit on that Sableye at all," Kris said.
"Sableye is just moving too fast for him, and with that Mean Look in effect, the only way for Sora to switch is for Sableye to be taken out," Riku said.
"Okay, let's try this! Flame Burst!" Sora ordered. Torkoal unleashed a Flame Burst and the searing embers lands a hit onto Sableye, dealing some heavy damage.
"Torkoal landed a successful hit with that Flame Burst!" The announcer announced.
"Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Torkoal fired Flamethrower, hitting Sableye, dealing some additional damage.
"Torkoal's Flamethrower does the job, but will it be enough to knock Sableye out?" The announcer asked. Sableye is knocked out from Torkoal's Flamethrower.
"Sableye is unable to battle! Torkoal wins!" The referee announced.
"Torkoal takes Sableye out and puts a halt to Blake's comeback! Blake just has one Pokémon left to use, so he has better make this one count!" The announcer announced as Blake called his Sableye back.
"So much for Blake's comeback," Brendan said.
"It looks like I underestimated Sora there. That serves me right for doing it," Wes said.
"It's okay, Wes. I forgive you," Rui said, making Wes smile.
"Okay, he's even better than I thought. But I've saved the best for last," Blake said, taking out his third Pokéball and threw it. "Obstagoon! Go!" His Pokéball opened and his Obstagoon emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"Blake's final Pokémon is his Obstagoon! Wonder how will Sora's Torkoal handle this one!" The announcer announced.
"Get ready, Torkoal," Sora said. Torkoal nodded.
"Alright, Obstagoon! Use Snarl!" Blake ordered. Obstagoon unleashed Snarl and sent it right at the Coal Pokémon.
"Protect!" Sora ordered. Torkoal withdrew in his shell again and creates another protective barrier. Obstagoon's Snarl bounces off. "Use Flamethrower!" Torkoal unleashed a Flamethrower, hitting Obstagoon on the mark.
"Obstagoon is just taking the hit from Torkoal's Flamethrower! What could he be planning?!" The announcer exclaimed.
"Use Revenge!" Blake ordered. Obstagoon's body is surrounded an orange aura. Obstagoon ran towards Torkoal and lands a hit onto Torkoal.
"Obstagoon lands a devastating blow with its Revenge!" The announcer announced.
"Revenge?" Ventus asked.
"Revenge is a move that gets stronger when a Pokémon was hit by it," Wes said.
"And since Torkoal landed a hit on Obstagoon, Revenge gotten stronger," May said.
"Right," Wes agreed.
"Torkoal! Flame Burst!" Sora ordered. Torkoal unleashed Flame Burst.
"Obstruct!" Blake ordered. Obstagoon crossed its arms, creating a huge X. The flames bounced right off of Obstagoon's arms.
"Torkoal's Flame Burst does nothing to hurt Obstagoon!" The announcer announced.
"Giga Impact!" Blake ordered. Obstagoon launched itself with Giga Impact and lands a hit onto Torkoal, dealing some heavy damage before Sora could act. Torkoal was knocked out.
"Torkoal is unable to battle! Obstagoon wins!" The referee announced.
"Now, both Sora and Blake each has one Pokémon left to use! Let's see if Sora could turn this around and throw it back at Blake, shall we?" The announcer asked. Sora called back his Torkoal and he took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Okay, Camerupt! Go!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and his Camerupt emerged from inside, snorting upon entry.
"Sora's third and final Pokémon is a Camerupt, another Fire-type Pokémon! It looks like this battle is getting hotter and hotter!" The announcer announced.
"Camerupt! Use Rock Slide!" Sora ordered. Camerupt unleashed Rock Slide and sent it right at Obstagoon.
"Obstruct!" Blake ordered. Obstagoon crosses its arms again, making the rocks bounce right off.
"Obstagoon uses Obstruct to block out Camerupt's Rock Slide!" The announcer announced.
"Blake's putting a lot of faith in that Obstruct," Hikaru said.
"Yes, but the more Obstruct succeeds, the less Blake's Obstagoon has in defending itself," Ben said.
"Camerupt! Earth Power!" Sora ordered. Camerupt becomes surrounded by a yellow aura and raises his hooves in the air and slams them down on the ground, creating glowing gold cracks that travel at the Blocking Pokémon and go under it, hurting it.
"Camerupt delivers an earth-shattering Earth Power onto its opponent! It doesn't look like Obstagoon is going last any longer!" The announcer announced.
"Eruption!" Sora ordered. Camerupt launches multiple fiery rocks up into the air from his humps. It then rains down on the battlefield.
"The whole battlefield is turned into a volcanic area! Obstagoon doesn't seem to have anywhere to go!" The announcer announced.
"Obstruct!" Blake ordered. Obstagoon attempts to use Obstruct, but one of the flaming rocks hits Obstagoon before it could block it in time. Obstagoon was now down and out from the attack.
"Obstagoon is unable to battle! Camerupt wins! The victory goes to Sora from Pallet Town!" The referee announced.
"And there you have it! Sora has earned his victory against the user of Dark-type Pokémon, Blake!" The announcer announced as Blake fell to his knees.
"I don't believe it. I lost," Blake said.
"He lost," Lisia said, almost sounding like she's crying. May turned to Lisia and she quickly caught on.
"Lisia, it sounds like you're upset that Blake lost," May said.
"Um, well, I, uh," Lisia nervously stammered while she's blushing.
"You're in love with Blake, aren't you?" May asked.
"Is it really that obvious?" Lisia asked. May nodded. "Okay, maybe I am, because of how cute he looks."
"Sure," May teased.
Blake shook Sora's hand.
"Hey, congrats on your win, Sora," Blake said.
"Thanks. You weren't too shabby yourself," Sora said.
"Just make sure that you win your next one," Blake said.
"I'll do my best," Sora said.
Later, Morrison had won his battle by using his Growlithe going against an Ampharos. Nora had won by using her Gardevoir against a Vibrava after using a Dragon Breath.
Blake and Nora rejoined their fellow apprentices as Ben approached the twins.
"You've both done well," Ben said with a smile.
"Thank you, Master," Nora said.
"I take it that you know why you lost, don't you, Blake?" Ben asked.
"Yes, Master. It's because I got too carried away and I tried too hard to win," Blake said.
"You did, but it doesn't change the fact you had Sora on the ropes, so you've done your best. The way I've seen it, it would gone either way," Ben said. Blake smiled at that.
On the next day, Sora has exchanged Torkoal, Camerupt, and Breloom for Dustox, Scizor, and Metagross. Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Wes, Rui, Michael, Max, Lisia, Zinnia, Rei, Wally, Jay, and the Pokémon were standing over to the screens and Sora saw he was up against Nora next. And they were going to be in Stadium D as Brendan, Wally, Morrison, Tyson, and Harrison were in different stadiums. So he decided to use Scizor, Dustox, and Metagross since Nora uses Fairy-type Pokémon.
"I don't belive it! First Blake, and now Nora? Somehow, I think the fates are making sure that Pokémon Trainers with Keyblades are made to battle each other," Ethan said.
"Well, it can't be helped," Rei said.
"Well, from what I can tell, she's just as good as her brother, so she'll end up giving you a hard time, Sora," Aqua said.
"She's right," Blake spoke up. He approached the group. "I'm nothing to sneeze, but neither is she. She's going to be very tough to beat, so you best make sure you're up for it, Sora."
"I'll do my best, Blake," Sora said.
After a few moments, Sora and Nora entered the battlefield to begin the battle.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the first battle here in Stadium D is about to begin! We have Sora from Pallet Town going against Nora from Spikemuth! Nora is the younger twin sister of Sora's previous opponent, Blake! Will Sora earn himself another victory or is Nora going to avenge her brother's honor by beating Sora? That's what we're here to find out!" The announcer announced as the referee took his place.
"Trainers! Choose your Pokémon and begin!" The referee announced. Nora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Mawile! I choose you!" Nora called out. Her Pokéball opened and her Mawile entered the battlefield. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Scizor! Go!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and his Scizor emerged from inside, ready to battle. Mawile activates its Intimidation ability, bringing Scizor's attack down.
"Nora has chosen Mawile while Sora has chosen Scizor, both are Steel-type Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Looks like Nora was ready for Sora, because she figured Sora would use one of his Poison-types to use against her Fairy-types," Naminé said.
"It's a known fact that Steel-types are immune to Poison-type moves, and Sora knows Steel-types have an edge over Fairy-types," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"Mawile! Flamethrower!" Nora ordered. Mawile fired Flamethrower at the Pincer Pokémon.
"Scizor! Double Team!" Sora ordered. Scizor uses Double Team to avoid Mawile's Flamethrower. It hits one of the duplicates instead.
"Scizor confuses Mawile with a Double Team! I'm having trouble keeping track on which one is which! And it looks like Mawile is, too!" The announcer announced.
"Bullet Punch!" Sora ordered. Scizor and the copies dashed at the Deceiver Pokémon and lands a hit. "Use Metal Claw!" Scizor lands a hit onto Mawile, dealing some heavy damage.
"Scizor starts up with a lightning fast Bullet Punch and follows up with a Metal Claw right on the number!" The announcer announced.
"Mawile! Flamethrower! All around!" Nora ordered. Mawile fired Flamethrower everywhere, hitting all of the duplicates until the real was found. The remaining duplicates all vanished.
"Mawile manages to find the real one with that red-hot Flamethrower! That'll just burn me up!" The announcer announced.
"Mawile! Use Crunch!" Nora ordered. Mawile moves its other jaw to clamp on Scizor.
"Dodge and use Metal Claw!" Sora ordered. Scizor dodged Mawile's Crunch and lands a hit with Metal Claw. "Steel Wing!" Scizor flew at Mawile and lands a hit onto Mawile, repeatedly.
"Scizor is bombarding Mawile with a series of Steel Wings!" The announcer announced.
"Mawile! Flamethrower!" Nora ordered.
"Bullet Punch!" Sora ordered. Scizor lands a hit with Bullet Punch before Mawile could attack. Mawile had been taken down.
"Mawile is unable to battle! Scizor wins!" The referee announced.
"Scizor takes Mawile down, leaving Nora two Pokémon left to use!" The announcer announced as Nora calls back her Mawile.
"Have yourself a good rest. You've earned it," Nora said. She took out another Pokéball and threw it. "You're going in now, Ninetales!" Nora's Pokéball opens and revealed an Alolan Ninetales.
"Nora has sent out an Alolan Ninetales to deal with Sora's Scizor!" The announcer announced.
"An Alolan Ninetales, huh?" May asked, taking out her Rotom Phone to scan it.
Ninetales Alolan Form, the Fox Pokémon
The evolved form of Vulpix Alolan Form
Type: Ice/Fairy
Some said that deities visited mountains where Ninetales live, so in times long past, no one was allowed to go into those mountains.
"It's really pretty," May said.
"Yeah, but Scizor has the advantage over this Ninetales since she's a Fairy-type Pokémon," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Ninetales! Ice Beam!" Nora ordered. Ninetales fired Ice Beam at Scizor.
"Dodge and use Metal Claw!" Sora ordered. Scizor attempts to dodge, but Ninetales's Ice Beam came too fast for Scizor to dodge and he ends up being frozen solid.
"Uh-oh! Scizor has been frozen in that ice!" The announcer announced.
"Dazzling Gleam!" Nora ordered. Ninetales unleashed Dazzling Gleam at the frozen Scizor and lands some heavy damage despite his resistance to ice. Scizor was knocked out.
"Scizor is unable to battle! Ninetales wins!" The referee announced.
"And Nora begins to make a comeback against Sora! Each has two Pokémon left to use and only one will be moving on!" The announcer announced. Sora calls his Scizor back and he took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Your turn, Dustox!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opens and Dustox flapped her wings upon entry.
"Sora's second Pokémon is a Dustox! Sora has been really prepared for Nora since Dustox is a Poison-type Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Dustox! Start things off with Poison Sting!" Sora ordered. Dustox fired Poison Sting at the Alolan Fox Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Ice Beam!" Nora ordered. Ninetales dodges Dustox's Poison Sting and fired Ice Beam at the Poison Moth Pokémon.
"Dodge and fire Poison Sting again!" Sora ordered. Dustox fires Poison Sting and lands a successful hit. It deals some heavy damage.
"Ninetales is going to be feeling that for while! Super-effective!" The announcer announced.
"Use Blizzard!" Nora ordered. Ninetales blew Blizzard right at the Poison Moth Pokémon.
"Block with Silver Wind!" Sora ordered. Dustox flapped her wings repeatedly, blowing Ninetales's Blizzard away.
"I have never seen anything like it! Dustox is blowing Ninetales's Blizzard with Silver Wind! It's one of the most incredible things I have ever seen!" The announcer announced.
"Ice Beam!" Nora ordered.
"Psybeam!" Sora ordered.
Ninetales and Dustox fired their beam moves, colliding with one another. Both Pokémon held on. Dustox managed to push Ninetales's Ice Beam back and landed a hit onto the Alolan Fox Pokémon. Ninetales ends up being confused.
"Dustox has overpowered Ninetales's Ice Beam with its Psybeam and now Ninetales is totally confused!" The announcer announced.
"Shake it off! Use Dazzling Gleam!" Nora ordered. Ninetales was stumbling around and ends up hurting herself with her confusion. Ninetales knocked itself out.
"Ninetales is unable to battle! Dustox wins!" The referee announced.
"Nora's comeback has been derailed by Sora's efforts! Nora has just one more Pokémon left to use, so which will it be?" The announcer asked. Nora took out her next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Gardevoir!" Nora called out. Her Pokéball opened and her Gardevoir emerged from inside.
"Nora's final Pokémon is a Gardevoir! Nora has the type advantage since it's a Psychic-type against a Poison-type!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, Dustox! Use Poison Sting!" Sora ordered. Dustox fired Poison Sting right at Gardevoir.
"Psychic!" Nora ordered. Gardevoir uses Psychic to block Dustox's Poison Sting and sent it back at Dustox.
"Gardevoir uses Psychic to send Dustox's Poison Sting right back at Dustox! How will Sora respond?!" The announcer announced.
"Silver Wind!" Sora ordered. Dustox uses Silver Wind to blow Dustox's own away.
"Dustox saves itself by using Silver Wind to protect itself!" The announcer announced.
"Great! Venoshock!" Sora ordered. Dustox fired a Venoshock right at Gardevoir.
"Use Psychic to block!" Nora ordered. Gardevoir uses Psychic to block Dustox's Venoshock and then sent it back. It came too fast for Dustox to react.
"Gardevoir once again uses Psychic to block Dustox's attacks and this time, it succeeded in landing a hit!" The announcer announced.
"Moonblast!" Nora ordered. Gardevoir unleashes a Moonblast and it was enough to bring Dustox down.
"Dustox is unable to battle! Gardevoir wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora now has one left to use! The way I have seen this match go, it will go either way!" The announcer announced as Sora calls back his Dustox.
"You did a great job, Dustox. Have yourself a good rest," Sora said. He took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Metagross! Go!" His Pokéball opened and Metagross emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"Sora's final Pokémon is a Metagross! Both are Psychic-types, but Metagross is a Steel-type and Gardevoir is a Fairy-type!" The announcer announced.
"I was ready for his Metagross. Gardevoir! Shadow Ball!" Nora ordered. Gardevoir unleashed a Shadow Ball and sends it at the Iron Leg Pokémon.
"Meteor Mash!" Sora ordered. Metagross swings one of its front legs and successfully blocks Gardevoir's Shadow Ball.
"Metagross uses Meteor Mash to block Gardevoir's Shadow Ball!" The announcer announced.
"Flash Cannon!" Sora ordered. Metagross fires a powerful Flash Cannon right at the brace Pokémon, dealing some heavy damage.
"Gardevoir!" Nora gasped.
"Ooh, Gardevoir has taken a huge amount of damage from Metagross's devastating Flash Cannon!" The announcer announced.
"Great job, Metagross!" Sora praised Metagross. The Iron Leg Pokémon beamed from Sora's compliment. "Okay, Metagross! Metal Claw!" Metagross came at Gardevoir with a Metal Claw.
"Metagross is moving with a Metal Claw, ready to hit Gardevoir!" The announcer announced.
"Gardevoir! Psychic!" Nora ordered. Gardevoir uses Psychic to block Metagross's Metal Claw and held on. Metagross then overpowered Gardevoir's Psychic and lands a hit. "Gardevoir!"
"Meteor Mash!" Sora ordered. Metagross lands a hit onto Gardevoir, resulting in a knockout.
"Gardevoir is unable to battle! Metagross wins! The winner is Sora from Pallet Town!" The referee announced.
"And Sora has earned his victory in the single battle round!" The announcer announced as Nora shook Sora's hand.
"Thank you for the battle, Sora. You're a wonderful Trainer," Nora said.
"Thanks. You were pretty good, yourself," Sora said.
Watching the battle closely is a young woman with teal hair and dark purple eyes. She wore a red short sleeved shirt with white lines on her shoulders. She wore a long black skirt with a red line and red sandals.
"That Sora kid is even better than I thought. Which means, beating him will be a easier said than done. I'll have to think of careful planning to battle him if I end up facing him," the young woman said.
Shortly after the battle, Nora stepped out of the stadium and she's greeted by Wally.
"Hi, Nora. Sorry that you lost," Wally said.
"You're sweet, Wally. You shouldn't apologize. It's just how tournaments work," Nora said.
"You're right about that, Nora. And since both you and your brother are out of the competition, what are you going to do?" Wally asked.
"We'll cheer for Sora and Brendan, of course," Nora said, smiling. "Will it be okay if I watched it with you, Wally?" Wally blushed at the request.
"Sure thing, Nora. I'd like to," Wally said, blushing.
Unknown to him, May was smiling, seeing her friend having a crush on Nora. She found it to be cute.
"Oh, those two would make such a cute couple," May said in her thoughts.
On the next day, the group has looked over whom Sora was up against today. His next opponent is a young woman wearing a Chinese-style yellow dress and bracelets on her wrists. Red ballet flats adorned her bare feet, and her hair is put in two buns.
"And she would be?" Sora asked.
"Vivian Wong," Duke's voice spoke up. They turned to see Duke approaching them.
"What do you know about her, Duke?" Kairi asked.
"Vivian is not only a strong Pokémon Trainer, but she's a fierce martial artist. Her ace Pokémon is a Medicham she had ever since it was only a Meditite. She used that Medicham to defeat a gang of Trainers known as the Clan of Nine Dragons. She has earned the title as the Fighting Pokémon Queen," Duke said. Duke showed the group Vivian's profile along with Fighting-type Pokémon which consists of an Annihilape, a Hitmonlee, a Hitmontop, Makuhita, a Tyrogue, and several others.
"Fighting Pokémon Queen?" Morrison scoffed. "Sora can whoop her while standing on his head."
"Uh..." Sora said, looking at Morrison with a deadpan expression.
"I'm not saying Sora doesn't stand a chance, but I am saying he should make his plan carefully," Duke said.
"Duke's right. You should," Rei said.
Sora had put some thought into battling Vivian. Since it's going to be against Fighting-type Pokémon, Sora exchanged Dustox and Scizor for Grumpig and Shedinja. Sora decided to go with Grumpig, Pelipper, and Shedinja for the battle. He had to save Shedinja as a last resort, and have Grumpig and Pelipper battle it out.
Brendan, Wally, Morrison, Tyson, and Harrison each had beaten their opponents and that left Sora as the only one to earn his victory.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, our third battle here in Stadium B is about to begin! To my left is the beautiful and yet deadly Fighting Pokémon Queen, Vivian Wong from Fushia City and the Pokémon League Champion of Kanto and Johto, Sora Ketchum!" The announcer announced as both Trainers entered the battlefield. Vivian just looked right at Sora.
"You're kidding. My opponent is just a scrawny kid?" Vivian scoffed. "Hmph, this won't take very long."
"Trainers! Choose your Pokémon and begin!" The referee called out. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Grumpig! Go!" Sora called out. Grumpig came out to battle and bounced on his spring-like tail.
"Thought he'd start out with a Psychic-type! Annihilape! You're going in!" Vivian called out, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. Her Pokéball opened and an Annihilape emerged from inside.
"Who's that Pokémon?" Brendan asked, taking out his Rotom Phone.
Annilihape, the Rage Monkey Pokémon
The evolved form of Primeape
Type: Fighting/Ghost
Annihilape evolved from Primeape when the rage in its soul became too much for its physical form to contain; it gained increased power as a result of its spirit no longer being limited by the flesh. The rage that was bubbling inside fills its punches with force that frightens its targets to their core.
"Okay, that'll definitely scare me," Brendan said.
"Grumpig is really in trouble because Annihilape is a Ghost-type," Max said.
"Yeah, but Annihilape is a Fighting-type, too, so Grumpig will be fine," Kairi said.
"Hope you're right, Kairi," Xion said.
"Annihilape! Rage Fist!" Vivian ordered. Annihilape came at Grumpig with a Rage Fist, intending to hit him.
"Grumpig! Use Bounce!" Sora ordered. Grumpig uses his tail to bounce into the air, avoiding Annihilape bounced out of the way of Annihilape's Rage Fist.
"Annihilape misses its mark!" The announcer announced. Grumpig came on down on Annihilape and lands right on its head, dealing some serious damage. "Grumpig makes contact with that Bounce!" Grumpig bounces on his tail like he was Tigger. Sora calls back his Grumpig and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Pelipper! You're going in!" Sora called out. Pelipper emerged from inside, flying around.
"Sora's second Pokémon is a Pelipper! Annihilape is at a disadvantage since it's against a Flying-type Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Make as many changes you want! I'm going to win this match! Shadow Punch!" Vivian ordered.
"Use Protect!" Sora ordered. Pelipper creates a protective barrier around himself and Annihilape's Shadow Punch bounces off.
"Shadow Punch may not be dodged, but it can be blocked! And that's what it looks like what happened when Pelipper used its Protect!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, Pelipper! Use Wing Attack!" Sora ordered. Pelipper flew at the Rage Monkey Pokémon and landed a hit on it.
"Pelipper lands a huge amount of damage onto Annihilape with that Wing Attack! Vivian will have to rethink he strategy!" The announcer announced.
"Focus Blast!" Vivian ordered. Annilihape forms a blue ball of energy and sends it at Pelipper.
"Protect!" Sora ordered. Pelipper uses Protect again, making Focus Blast bounce right off.
"Pelipper is saved by Protect once again!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, use Chilling Water!" Sora ordered. Pelipper spewed cold water from its mouth and onto Annihilape. Annihilape is now shivering from the cold water.
"Brr! Pelipper just gave Annihilape a very cold bath!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, use Aerial Ace!" Sora ordered. Pelipper dashed at Annihilape and lands a hit, much to Vivian's annoyance. Annihilape is knocked out.
"Annihilape is unable to battle! Pelipper wins!" The referee announced.
"And Sora once again takes the lead in this battle! Vivian is down to two remaining, so she'll have to choose her next one wisely!" The announcer announced. Vivian called her Annihilape back and she took out her next Pokéball and threw it.
"Hitmontop! Go!" Vivian called out. Her Pokéball opened and her Hitmontop emerged from inside. He spins upon entry.
"Vivian's second Pokémon is a Hitmontop!" The announcer announced. Sora took out his Pokéball and calls Pelipper back. "And Sora is making another switch! Which one will it be this time?" Sora threw his Pokéball.
"Grumpig! Back to action!" Sora called out. His Grumpig emerged from inside, bouncing on his tail again.
"Sora sends his Grumpig back out! And it Grumpig's full of more energy than ever!" The announcer announced.
"I thought he was gonna send out his third one, but it doesn't matter to me. Hitmontop! Triple Kick!" Vivian ordered. Hitmontop spins around and around, heading right for Grumpig.
"Hitmontop comes right at Grumpig with a Triple Spin!" The announcer announced.
"Grumpig! Use Psybeam!" Sora ordered. Grumpig fired Psybeam and it lands a hit onto Hitmontop.
"Super-effective!" The announcer announced.
"Hitmontop! Use Gyro Ball!" Vivian ordered. Hitmontop spins around and comes at the Manipulate Pokémon with a Gyro Ball.
"Grumpig! Psychic!" Sora ordered. Grumpig uses Psychic on the Handstand Pokémon and sent it back, flying. Hitmontop was knocked out, much to Vivian's annoyance.
"Hitmontop is unable to battle! Grumpig wins!" The referee announced.
"And Sora has taken down two of Vivian's Pokémon while Sora hasn't even lost one! Judging by how it's going to go, it'll end in Sora's favor!" The announcer announced.
Watching the battle from a VIP booth, Seto Kaiba along with his brother Mokuba were observing the battle. Sitting next to Mokuba is a Bagon. And next to Seto is a Salamence.
"Wow, he's even better than I thought," Mokuba said.
"Bagon!" Bagon said.
"I agree. I thought he got lucky when his Pelipper knocked out her Annihilape. Now we'll see how long he'll stay in the lead," Seto Kaiba said.
"Now we will see which Pokémon Vivian will send out next!" The announcer announced. Vivian calls back her Hitmontop and took out her next Pokéball and threw it.
"Medicham! I choose you!" Vivian called out. Her Pokéball came out and her Medicham came out, doing a fighting stance.
"And Vivian's final Pokémon is her Medicham! I had a strong feeling she was saving that one for last, but we'll see which one of these two Pokémon will be standing!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, Grumpig, stay on your toes. We don't know what sort of tricks this Medicham has up her sleeve," Sora said.
"Pig," Grumpig said.
"Looks like Duke was right. She was saving that Medicham for last," Roxas said.
"Pikachu," Xipak said.
"And she looks like a strong one," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Grumpig! Use Bounce!" Sora ordered. Grumpig uses his tail to lift himself off the ground, but Vivian grinned.
"I knew you'd go for that. Medicham! High Jump Kick!" Vivian ordered. Medicham jumped in the air and at the same level as Grumpig much to both Sora and Grumpig's surprise. She lands a devastating kick on the Manipulate Pokémon, sending him falling right to the ground.
"Medicham lands brutal High Jump Kick onto Grumpig! And judging by how high Grumpig bounced, that looked like it caused a lot of damage!" The announcer announced. Grumpig was knocked out.
"Grumpig is unable to battle! Medicham wins!" The referee announced.
"Medicham has granted Vivian the comeback that she was needing! Sora is now down to two more Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Excellent job, Medicham. I knew I was right to save you for last," Vivian said. Sora called his Grumpig back and he sighed.
"You were awesome, Grumpig. Get some rest," Sora said. He took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Pelipper! Back to action!" His Pokéball opened and his Pelipper came back out to battle.
"Sora sends out his Pelipper back out! Will it be able to take out Medicham like it did with Annihilape?" The announcer asked.
"Not if I have anything to say about it. Ice Punch!" Vivian ordered. Medicham came at the Water Bird Pokémon with an Ice Punch.
"Use Protect!" Sora ordered. Medicham uses Protect and it blocks Medicham's Ice Punch.
"Use Axe Kick!" Vivian ordered. Medicham kicks upwards and slammed her heel down onto Pelipper.
"Ooh! Medicham lands a mean Axe Kick onto Pelipper!" The announcer announced. Pelipper lands on the ground, hurt.
"Wait, Axe Kick?" Lyra asked.
"It's a kick attack that works the same way as Jump Kick and High Jump Kick. If Medicham missed then Medicham would have taken damage from it," Rei said.
"It was risky doing it up close," Naminé said.
"Yeah, and it looks like it's all over for Pelipper," Ash said.
"Use Psychic!" Vivian ordered. Medicham uses Psychic on Pelipper sending it up and then back down to the ground, hard. Pelipper had been knocked out from Medicham's Psychic.
"Pelipper is unable to battle! Medicham wins!" The referee announced.
"And that's two Pokémon in a row! Now, Sora has only one left to use, so he'll have to make his next move count!" The announcer announced as Sora calls back his Pelipper.
"Well, I've waited long enough. Let's see if this will work," Sora said, taking out his third Pokéball and threw it. "Shedinja! Go!" His Pokéball opened and his Shedinja emerged from inside.
"And Sora's final Pokémon is a Shedinja! Medicham's Fighting-type moves won't even touch it!" The announcer announced.
"Not if that matters to me. Medicham! Psychic again!" Vivian ordered. Medicham uses Psychic on Shedinja, but it has no effect on it, much to her shock. "WHAT?!"
"What an upset! Medicham's Psychic has no effect on Shedinja at all!" The announcer announced.
Over to Yugi and his friends, Joey was surprised by what just happened.
"Hey, what gives? Medicham's Psychic didn't even touch it," Joey said.
"It's because of Shedinja's Wonder Guard," Yugi said.
"Wait, Wonder Guard?" Joey asked.
"What's that?" Serenity asked.
"It's an ability that only Shedinja has. It's an ability that can protect the Pokémon from other types of attacks except for moves it's weak against. Since Shedinja is a Bug and Ghost-type Pokémon, only Fire, Rock, Flying, Ghost, and Dark-type moves can touch it," Yugi said. Joey grinned.
"He gets even more awesome than ever," Joey said.
"Wait, her Annihilape knows Rage Fist and Shadow Punch, so it would have failed if Sora sent Shedinja out, wouldn't it?" Téa pointed out.
"It would have. He must have been saving that Shedinja for last because he wanted to be ready for her," Duke said.
"How could this happen?! Medicham's Psychic should have landed a hit!" Vivian exclaimed in shock.
"Cham!" Medicham also exclaimed, sharing her shock.
"Knew Shedinja's Wonder Guard would come in handy! And it doesn't look like Vivian's Medicham knows other moves than Ice Punch, Axe Kick, or Psychic. Better end this now. Shedinja! Use Shadow Claw!" Shedinja came at Medicham with a Shadow Claw, landing a hit.
"Medicham definitely felt that one! Vivian is at a dissary!" The announcer announced.
"Use Shadow Ball!" Sora ordered. Shedinja fired a Shadow Ball, hitting Medicham once again. "Wrap it up with X-Scissor!" Shedinja came at Medicham with an X-Scissor, landing a devastating blow, knocking Medicham out.
"Medicham is unable to battle! Shedinja wins! The winner is Sora from Pallet Town!" The referee announced.
"And now, Sora is among the 32 final Trainers to make it to the championship round!" The announcer announced as Shedinja hovers over to Sora.
"It was a good thing I saved you for last, Shedinja. You were awesome out there," Sora said. Shedinja beamed. Sora looked up to the screen and sees his mugshot among the other finalists. "I'll be using six Pokémon in the next round, so it's about to get even harder from there."
Now that the three-on-three battles have concluded, the championship round will soon begin. Who will Sora be up against next? And will he be able to do the impossible? Find out when we continue on.
