Disclaimer: I do not own anything, expect the OCs. This is just a story for fun.

Link stood behind bars and watched the other heroes be escorted and disappear down a hallway towards some other cells. As soon as they were gone Link turned towards his shadow to speak to Midna.

"I'm going to need your help to escape. You'll need the keys to the cell to do that."

"And you just assume I can easily escape this cell?" Asked Midna as she popped out of the shadow and took on her solid form.

"Can you?" Asked Link.

"I can. Lucky for you, you have someone as great and talented as me to bail you out." Said Midna before she turned into a bunch of sparking particles and went through the bars.

Midna returned to her normal form gave link a wink before flying in search of the keys.

Elsewhere Ling was being thrown into a cell across from two cells that held Finn and Phoebe. A few Yiga Clan members and Gerudo guards were left behind to guard the odd prisoners. Koume and Kotake used their magic to conjure up a large armored being carrying a large sword and shield called a Darknut. Koume gave the Darknut the keys to the cell and ordered it to guard the dungeon. The Darknut gave a salute before marching off. Kotake turned, her attention to Phoebe.

"I don't like the look of this one. I think she needs to cool down!" Said Kotake as she blasted Phoebe with a freezing blast.

Phoebe let out a shout of pain as her body became a duller color and she fell to the ground.

"Phoebe!" Shouted Finn as he looked like he was fixing to summon his powers to breakout of his cell and attack the two witches, but a warning look from Ling stopped him and the hero restrained himself.

"Oh quit down, you all will meet your end soon enough." Said Kotake with a cackle as she and her sister flew away leaving the guards and prisoners.

"You ok Phoebe?" Whispered Finn as he leaned against the wall separating the cells.

"I'll...be fine. You forget...I grew up in the Ice Kingdom, so...I have a high tolerance to cold. It'll take me...a little time to warm myself up, but I'll be back to...my old self." Said Phoebe.

"Good to hear." Said Finn.

The young hero glanced at Ling, who seemed to be studying the guards. Finn looked at the Gerudo, who seemed to be glaring at the Yiga Clan guards. It seemed the women weren't to fond of the masked assassins. Perhaps the heroes could use this to their advantage.

Meanwhile outside the dungeon Koume, Kotake, and Tyrian had headed to the old coliseum to plan out the execution and send out word for the people to attend. Tyrian wanted to be one of the executioners and the sisters agreed, though they wanted to bring in another person to aid in the execution.

"We need someone big, powerful, and destructive. A symbol of raw power." Said Koume.

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking sister?" Asked Kotake.

"I think I am." Said Koume.

"General Onox!" Said the sisters together.

"Whose that?" Asked Tyrian.

"A mighty warrior who once served us, but was killed by one of Link's ancestors." Said Kotake.

"Bringing him back will be no problem." Said Koume.

The two sisters began to chant a spell together and then they both unleashed a blast of energy at the ground. There was a thunderclap and a cloud of smoke rose from the ground. The smoke then began to clear to reveal a massive armored man wearing a pointed helmet and gold armor. The man also carried a large ball and chain in his hands.

"Welcome back to the world of the living Onox." Said Kotake.

"I live to serve and vanquish your enemies my masters." Said Onox with a slight bow.

"Very good. We have a special task for you and I think your going to enjoy it." Said Koume.

The sisters told Onox what the job was and his mouth split into a grin. The general was ready to dish out some execution and revenge on the descendant of his hated foe.

Back in the dungeon, Midna was floating around grumbling to herself. Here she was going on a mission to save a hero, who was supposed to help her take Zant down, yet he had gotten himself and the rest of the group captured by the locals. Midna was really not having much confidence in Link's abilities and for a moment she considered leaving him in the cell, but quickly shook it off. Link may not have been Midna's idea of a hero, but he was helping her out and he was also a friend to Zelda and as a fellow princess Midna respected the other ruler. Midna may have been an imp, but she was still a princess, who needed to act with dignity and save her comrades and people. The imp found some kind of guard post, where Link's sword and shield were stashed along with Finn and Ling's swords. Midna stored the weapons in her helmet and then went looking for the keys.

In the Twilight Realm, large groups of shadow beast were being gathered around the palace grounds to prepare to launch an invasion. A few Twii coward about and the area fearing they would be changed by their mad king. In the throne room sat Zant. Zant was currently not wearing his helmet. The king had pale-blue skin with purple lips and the Twilight Emblem engraved on his forehead. Zant's eyes were orange and he had red hair. The ruler was currently lost in thought about what he should do first, when he conquered the world of Hyrule. It was then someone walked into the throne room to see the king. The newcomer was a Twili women with teal-skinned who wore a lightly-armored white dress with purple armor, a blue sash with an eye symbol running down her skirt, two armored blue elbow guards that held a short blue cape behind her, and a headdress that pointed and curved to the right like a scythe blade. She also had some red hair hanging from her headdress covering her right eye, an exposed midriff, and some cleavage. The woman's name was Veran the Sorceress of Shadows.

"Hello my king." Said Veran.

"What news have you brought me?" Asked Zant.

"The army is nearly ready and Master Ghirahim will soon make the world of Hyrule more accommodating for our forces to move freely. The being I helped him resurrect will see to that. As to the band of heroes Midna gathered, I hear they have been captured and are soon to be executed." Said Veran.

"Good. The heroes can die for all I care, but I want Midna brought back here, so I can make her suffer. I'll make an example out of her and show the world what happened to the weak and foolish who dare try to cross me. I also want the rest of the Fused Shadow brought to me. Their power rightfully belongs to me." Said Zant.

"As you wish my king. It shall be done." Said Veran as she turned and left the throne room.

As soon as she left the throne room Veran let out a chuckle. Oh what a foolish puppet Zant was. He was merely a tool to be used by others, until he was no longer useful. Veran was a skilled sorceress who hundreds of years ago had used her magic to locate a tear in the Twilight Realm and enter the world of Hyrule. It was there that she met Koume and Kotake. The two sisters were trying to bring Ganon back from the dead and saw that Veran was very skilled in magic and could be helpful in their cause. Veran agreed to assist them in exchange for magic that would allow her to walk in the sunlight. Th sisters agreed and Veran aided them, until she was struck down by an ancestor of Link. Veran was reduced to a shadowy essence and forced to flee into the Twilight Realm and the tear closed up. The villain was stuck in the realm forced to gather energy to reform herself and during that time she observed the royal family and did some research. An ancient tex told Veran about a magical item called Majora's Mask. The mask had been a creation of the Twili's ancestors, who used it in hexing rituals. Then Majora placed his own essence into the mask to make it stronger and it became alive and self aware. The mask was considered to dangerous and locked away. Veran finally gathered enough energy to reform herself and she did some more research into the mask. Her research later came across some information about the mask being destroyed, by another hero who went by the name Link. This angered Veran and she went about looking for a way to bring the mask back and she also tried to find a way out of the Twilight Realm, but she kept hitting dead ends.

Veran was fixing to just give up and focus her energy on conquering the Twilight Realm, when she sensed a hole open in the realm and went to go investigate it. She found an old temple, where she was greeted by Ghirahim and Vaati, who told them about their plan to bring Ganondorf back and conquer Hyrule. Veran introduced herself and pledge her loyalty to Ghirahim. Later on she showed Ghirahim her research on Majora's Mask and the demon agreed to help her and the two of them combined their skills and knowledge to forge a new mask. The mask resembled a purple heart with red, orange, white, and black paint on it, with two green eyes, eight yellow spikes on it's sides, and two spikes on the top. The villains then reached out to the spirit world and called upon the spirit of Majora. Veran saw a ghostly shape fly into the mask and vanish. The mask then floated off the pedestal it had been sitting on and faced the villains.

"Why have you brought me back?" Asked Majora.

"It's quit simple. All of us have suffered defeat at the hands of a young hero, whose bloodline has time and time again produced a hero to stand against evil and prevent us from obtaining our desires. This cycle has played out to many times for my taste, so we're going to change things, so we end up on top. I have a plan that will utterly crush the body and spirit of the current hero. Together we will taste glorious victory! You can cause as much destruction as you want!" Said Ghirahim.

Majora agreed to join forces with Ghirahim and he went back to Hyrule with him. Ghirahim told Varen, when the moon changed, that would be the signal to begin the invasion. Varen grinned in anticipation.

(Author's Note: I used a theory from the Legend of Zelda Wiki for both Varen and Majora to help fit them into the story.)

Back in the dungeon, Ling decided to make a little conversation with the Gerudo guards.

"I take it you ladies aren't fond of the guys in mask. They're your enemies aren't they, yet those two witches are making you work with them." Said Ling.

"These people have attacked and stolen things from us. They are a bunch of thieves." Grumbled one of the Gerudo.

"Silence women! We are warriors that serve the great Ganondorf just like you. You should be grateful to be given a chance to be in the army that will establish a new world order." Said a Yiga Clan Member.

"Whoa. You seriously going to take that?" Said Ling.

The Gerudo just stared at the ground and bit her lip.

"We cannot defy Koume and Kotake. To defy them...is to defy Ganondorf and bring destruction on our heads."

"Well if you asked me, you shouldn't listen to those hags or that jerk ruler. A real ruler would treat his people better and not rule them through fear and power. A real ruler wouldn't force their people to put up with these masked clowns." Said Ling.

"Silence!" Snapped one of the Yiga Clan members.

The Gerudo guards just stared at the floor thinking about what Ling had said.

In another part of the dungeon, Midna had come across the Darknut walking down a hallway. Midna spotted a set of keys hanging on the armored beings side and carefully floated behind him. She turned her hair into a hand and carefully grabbed the keys from the guard's side. The imp grinned in satisfaction, but the Darknut suddenly whirled around and faced her raising his sword. Midna let out a a frightened cry as the Darknut swung his sword at her and she barely dodged it. The princess quickly flew away in the direction of Link's cell with the Darknut in hot pursuit. Midna saw the cell up ahead and tossed the keys to Link, a few seconds before the Darknut slammed his shield into the imp and slammed her into a wall.

"Midna!" Cried Link as he grabbed the keys and began to search for the right one.

The Darknut ignored Link and focused his attention on Midna. He raised his sword up to strike her down. Midna quickly pulled out Link's sword from her mask and tried to defend herself with it, but the blade was to big for Midna to properly hold and the Darknut easily swatted it away. The sword skidded across the ground and stopped a few feet away. The Darknut raised his sword to strike Midna down, but as he swung it down, his blade was intercepted by another blade. Link stood before the Darknut with his sword raised.

"You'll be fighting me now." Said Link before he shoved the Darknut back.

The Darknut stumbled back and Link did a spinning swing striking the armored creature the chest several times. The creature quickly recovered and came down with a downwards strike, but Link deflected it and stabbed the Darknut in the chest! The Darknut let out a shudder as it dropped it's sword and shield. Link pulled his sword out and the creature fell to the ground and burst into a bunch of black particles. Midna stared up at Link in awe. In a matter of seconds she had just seen Link best a powerful creature. The princess was impressed by Link's skills.

"You ok?" Asked Link.

"A little bruised, but I'll be fine." Said Midna.

"Good to hear. Nice job of getting the key." Said Link.

"Well I certainly couldn't leave you here and do this quest by myself." Said Midna with a teasing smile.

Link smiled and offered Midna a hand, she took it to help stand. After a few seconds Midna floated off the ground.

"Come on, we need to get the others and will see about freeing and helping the Gerudo." Said Link as he and Midna headed in the direction of the other cells.

"How do we do that?" Asked Midna.

"By showing the Gerudo that their masters can be defeated." Said Link.

The escape and take back for Gerudo City was on.

To be continued.
