Disclaimer: I do not own anything, expect the OCs. This is just a story for fun.
Constancy constructed a crib for Gunther and managed to rustle up some milk for him. He spent the next few days taking care of the little dinosaur, when the other three Elementals stopped by his place for a visit.
Chatsberry the Candy Elemental was a slim, humanoid with bubble-gum pink skin and mustache. He wore a pink and white striped candy swirl that wraps around his body and wielded a honey ladle. Chatsberry also wore pink boots and had bubble gum hair on his head.
Balthus the Fire Elemental was a one-eyed humanoid with a right hand that resembled a crab's pincer. He wore embroidered, metallic briefs and had wild dark crimson hair and beard. The elemental's chestnut-colored body was thin and wrinkled, making him appear very old.
Slimy D the Slime Elemental had green, slimy skin was completely bare save for a samurai helmet, brown loin cloth, and yellow boots. He also sported a thin mustache and resembled a sumo wrestler.
The three Elementals greeted Constancy and then he showed them Gunther, who was in his crib playing with a rattle. Gunther giggled and shook the rattle as the Elementals stared down at him. After a while the three Elementals turned to Constancy.
"You adopted a dinosaur and gave him intelligence?" Asked Chatsberry.
"I did. His name is Gunther and his an orphan. I gave him intelligence in hopes of helping him survive and give him a better life." Said Constancy before going into detail how he found Gunther and saved him from the Ravagers.
"Quit a tale you got there Constancy and what your doing is quit honorable and nobel." Said Balthus.
"Thank you. As you see I couldn't just abandon Gunther. You all know what the Ravagers do to eggs and it would just waste the sacrifice Gunther's mom made for her child." Said Constancy.
"We agree with what you did, but what exactly are you going to teach Gunther as he grows up?" Asked Chatsberry.
"I'm going to teach Gunther how to read, write, about nature, to navigate by the stars, and survive. Who knows I might even teach him magic." Said Constancy.
"Sounds like you intend to teach him a lot." Said Slimy D.
"I just want him to be happy and have the best life possible. That's basically the duty of any parent and I plan to do just that." Said Constancy.
Gunther shook his rattle and continued laugh. Slimy D just smiled at this.
"Well his already a music lover, so I say you've done good so far raising him." Said Slimy D.
Constancy thanked him and the other Elementals soon left. The Ice Elemental went back to raising his son.
Years went by and Constancy raised Gunther. Gunther had both grown physically and mentally over the years. He was now roughly half the size of his father and had a somewhat humanoid appearance. Constancy had taught Gunther many things over the years and showed great love and affection towards his adopted son. He even told Gunther about being an Elemental and about being reincarnated after death. Gunther was very excited by this news and wanted to learn the same kind of magic as his father. Constancy tried to teach Gunther ice magic, but since Gunther wasn't an Elemental, he didn't quit have much talent for it and only produced a few sparks of magic and a cool breeze. Gunther became upset and angry by this, but Constancy assured him, he was doing fine and that it took time and practice to learn magic. Constancy spent some of his free time praying and asking his Elemental Father, the Frost Father for help and guidance to teach and help Gunther use ice magic. The Frost Father sent Constancy a plan and instructions to create a magic crown and tiara that had the ability to give anyone whoever wore them the ability to use ice magic. Constancy was very thrilled by this and began to construct the magical items in secret. As time went by Gunther adopted a small orange female dinosaur he named Nina and kept her as a pet. Gunther also spent time with the other Elementals, who he saw as his uncles.
One day Gunther and Constancy were in their home having dinner, when Gunther told his father what he wanted to be, when he was fully grown.
"I want to be just like you, when I grow up."
At first Constancy laughed and that made Gunther mad, but then he realized it was a goodnatured laugh. Constancy then stopped laughing and looked at his son.
"I'm flattered you want to be like me Gunther and there's nothing wrong to be like a person you admire or look up to, but you shouldn't forget about yourself or think you not capable of your own greatness." Said Constancy.
"What do you mean?" Asked Gunther.
"Well let's say I wanted to learn fire magic, so I could be just like Balthus. I could learn a bunch of fire magic, but that wouldn't make me a Fire Elemental. I would still be me, only with another skill. Now there's nothing wrong with learning a new talent or skill mind, but you have to ask yourself why your learning it. Are you learning it to better yourself and have a little fun or are you simply doing it so you can be like someone else? If your learning something to be like someone else, you've lost confidence in yourself and believe your incapable of doing greatness. That's not a good thing. You should never doubt yourself and believe your incapable of doing greatness. Everyone is special and capable of doing greatness in their own special way. You included. And if you want to learn ice magic that's good, but remember to do it for yourself and not simply just so you can be like me." Said Constancy.
"Ok dad." Said Gunther.
"I simply want you to be happy and the best you, you can possibly be." Said Constancy with a smile.
The two smiled and hugged.
Meanwhile lightyears away from Earth a neon green commit was flying through space towards the direction of Earth.
To be continued.
