After being enrolled in classes at Forks High and saying goodbye to Charlie, I head to my first class of the day. On my way there, I get curious looks from the student body. Knowing that they were just curious since I was joining the school year so late, I smiled at anyone who made contact with me. I'd rather be the friendly new girl than the awkward shy new girl.

Stopping at my locker and dropping off the books I didn't need, I noticed a nerdy looking guy approach me. Closing my locker and facing him, I give him a small smile as he introduces himself.

"Hi, I'm Eric Yorkie, you must be Isabella Swan, the chiefs daughter, right?" He said with an abundance of energy.

Laughing at his exuberance I nod, "That's me, how can I help you?"

"Just wanted to introduce myself and offer guidance around the school. Do you need any help finding any of your classes?" Eric rambled on as we started walking. I smiled and pulled my schedule out of my folder and handed it to him.

"Would it help if I just let you see the schedule' I laughed lightly as he blushed. Taking the schedule from my hand his eyes scanned over it and I noticed that he looked disappointed, "How many classes do we share? It'll be nice knowing someone in them."

"We only share English with Mr. Mason. But you share all your other classes with some of my friends, if you want I can introduce you to them real quick so you can at least know one or two people in your classes if that's okay with you?" Tripping over his words and starting towards a locker with a few kids huddled around it, I followed him with a soft smile on my face.

"That would be nice and very much appreciated Eric, thank you" I followed after him, amused at how nervous people get around Bella. Stopping next to the locker I notice what seems to be Mike Newton, Jessica Stanley, Angela Webber and a boy that is most obviously Tyler Crowley.

"Hey guys, this is Isabella Swan, today is her first day. I told her I'd introduce her to you guys because she only shares first period with me but shares more classes with you all." Eric introduced me to the group, "This is Mike, Jessica, Angela and Tyler." He said as he pointed each of them out.

I smiled at them, "Nice to meet you guys, I hope we can be good friends."

"Hi, Im Jessica Stanley! Can I see your schedule too!" Jessica bounces in place, her warm brown curls bouncing with her in her excitement. Giggling at her excitement I hand her my schedule. Looking it over she nods and hands it back, "We have Trig, Spanish and Gym together. You can sit with us at lunch too! Mike is in all your other classes so if you need directions I'm sure he can help you. Right, Mike?"

"Y-yeah," He stutters out, staring at me a little intensely, I give him a small smile as thanks as the warning bell sounds.

Following Eric to building three, I enter the classroom and hand the slip Ms. Cope gave me to Mr. Mason, once he read my name he just stared at me. Thankful that he didn't make me introduce myself I walked over to an empty seat and sat down, looking over the material for the class that was given to me by the office, seeing it was fairly basic and that I had already done most of it once. I wondered if it would be cheating to use Bella's old essays.

While I was contemplating, the bell rang signaling the end of class, Eric leaned across the aisle, "I'm heading towards building four, do you need help finding Mr. Jefferson's class?"

"I would appreciate that, Thanks Eric," I stand up and grab my bag, following him out the door. I noticed that several people were following us close enough to eavesdrop on our conversation. I forgot how nosy everyone was in Forks.

"A lot different than Phoenix, huh?" He questioned.

"Very, a lot more rainy and it's colder than I'm used to." I confirmed.

"Doesn't rain much there, does it?"

"Maybe like three or four times a year, It's very dry."

"Wow, I couldn't imagine what that must be like." He said in wonder.

"Sunny and hot," I laughed, remembering this conversation from the book and the joke that Bella made and how no one caught on to her sarcasm.

"You don't look very tan," There it is, I looked him in the eye and in the most serious tone possible,

"My mother is part albino."

He studied my face, unsure of what it make of my comment. I couldn't hold it in any longer and let out a laugh, "I'm just kidding, I don't tan well, I mostly just get sunburnt."

"O-oh," he lets out an unsure chuckle as we walked around the back of the cafeteria, to the south buildings. He walked me up to the door that was marked with a giant six on the side.

"Thanks for showing me the way! I'll see you at lunch?" I asked.

"Sure! Good luck with the rest of your day, Isabella." He turned and started hurrying away so he wouldn't be late to his own class. Smiling at how welcoming they were, I walked into the building. Government passed without any fanfare and Trigonometry was dreadful. Math was never my strong suit in either life it seems. Mr. Varner was the only one who made me introduce myself so far. I saw Jessica give me a small thumbs up once I was done and I smiled at her. After that I sat down and tried to take as many notes as I needed. Knowing that in order to pass this class I would actually have to pay attention.

After two classes, I started to recognize several faces in my classes, and noticed that a lot of people were getting more comfortable to come up and introduce themselves to me and ask me questions about myself. I was always very nice and answered each of their questions. I sat next to Jessica in Trig and in Spanish, which was a relief since I already knew her. I could see myself becoming good friends with her, she told me about all the teachers and all the gossip surrounding the students. I was a little miffed when I thought about how Bella never actually gave these kids the time of day and only concerned herself with the Cullens. These kids were welcoming and sweet and she basically dismissed them all just because of her vampire boyfriend.

Following her to the lunchroom, I placed my bag down next to hers and followed her into the line to grab something to eat, grabbing a bottle of water and a slice of pizza, we made our way back to the table with her friends.

"So Bella, how are you liking Forks so far," Jessica said as we sat down, I smiled at Angela as she sat down across from me.

"I'm actually loving it so far, it's a nice change from Arizona."

Ending things here because next chapter is introducing the Cullens
