Robert was absolutely mesmerized by this woman he had been in love with for most of his life. She looked absolutely radiant. The love he had in his heart for her was the strongest he had ever known.
Holly's dress was long, a pale white one that wasn't too fluffy. Her flowers were purple, and her hair was pinned up halfway.
Barry led her down the stairs as Robert walked up to meet them. Barry placed her hand in Robert's and kissed Holly's cheek.
Holly gave Barry a smile before she locked eyes with Robert. The two took a moment before walking down the aisle.
"I've never seen anything more gorgeous in my life." Robert whispered.
Holly grinned. "You look unbelievably handsome."
As they got to Laura they both stopped.
Laura fought back tears, looking at two of her friends. "We are gathered here today to reaffirm this deep, beautiful love between Robert Scorpio and Holly Scorpio. In true fashion, my friends have decided to write their own vows. Who would like to start?"
Robert and Holly were so mesmerized with each other that neither of them heard Laura.
Ethan gently nudged Robert and brought him back to reality.
"Oh, what?" Robert asked, his eyes still glued on Holly.
The guests laughed as Laura spoke. "The vows?"
"Oh yeah." Holly chuckled as she looked at Robert. They had agreed she would go first.
"Robert, when I think back to how our relationship started, it's almost overwhelming. I had never had anyone in my life, so I was willing to go above and beyond to protect me. When we moved into this house and truly started to fall madly in love, it was scary at the time, but now so special. The moment for me was when you put my ring on my finger. I've always known that whatever life throws at us as long as we have each other, we're gonna be okay. Through it all." Holly squeezed Robert's hand. She could say so much more, but there was absolutely no way to really sum up 41 years of the greatest love affair.
Robert kissed her hand before he started to speak. "Before you, I never really knew what it was like to feel all warm and fuzzy. I had loved, but it was never that. When I fell for you, it truly consumed me, and I loved it. I wanted to see that smile, I still want to see that smile. I once told Tiff that everything about you was rather amazing, and I meant it. Both times I thought I lost you, I lost so much of myself. I really just learned to exist. I hated it. When we agreed to go our separate ways last year because you didn't want to compromise me, I hated it too. All I've ever wanted in life is to be with you. You're more than my home. You are my heart, my soul, my everything." Robert kissed her hands.
Holly's eyes welled up with tears as she looked into the eyes of the man she loved more than life itself.
Laura was overwhelmed seeing them so happy. She looked at little Noah, who had the rings on a pillow. "Can you give those to Grandpa and Grandma Holly?"
Noah nodded and gave them to them.
"Good job, mate." Robert told his grandson.
Holly gave Noah a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you, darling."
The two of them turned their attention back to each other.
Holly slid the ring on Robert's finger. "With this ring, I promise to love and cherish you. To always be that one who brings out your better side but also the one who lets you know when you're being unreasonable. I've never wanted anything more in life than you and our family. I love you with all my heart, my Robert." Holly kissed Robert's hand.
Robert was now tearing up. Everything they were to each other just meant the world to him. He slid Holly's ring on her finger and started to speak. "With this ring, I promise..." He got choked up and paused.
Holly reached up and touched his face, the two of them locking eyes. "I love you."
Robert grinned. She always knew how to bring him back. "I promise to love you with every part of my heart and soul, and that's a very easy promise because I've never stopped and never will. Like I told you on Valentine's Day all those years ago, ours is a love that will live forever. You really are my hope, my soulmate, and the love of my life."
"Robert and Holly, I don't think I have to pronounce you man and wife because I don't think the two of you have never not been in your mind, well at least now since I've known you as a couple. And legally, you have unknowingly been too. So I'll just say you may kiss the bride." Laura smiled at the two of them.
Holly beamed as she wrapped her arms around Robert. "Come here, you."
Robert's face was lit up as he leaned into a deep kiss, holding Holly as close as he could. This was heaven. Actually, it was better than heaven.
The guests all clapped as they all walked down the aisle, stopping at the end.
"Please stay and enjoy our reception with us. Rose and Jayne outdid themselves as did Tiff." Holly said to the guest before she gave Tiff a hug.
