Summary: When he follows Mike and the gang to Mirinoi with Damon and Kai, Leo/Trezo finds himself in a crazy situation.
Note: Just when you thought I was only going to put out half the story of the premier, I decided to only make you wait for roughly a full day. As always, hope you enjoy reading this as I did writing it.

Chapter 2
The trouble on Mirinoi
Damon closed the portal behind them once Leo sent the coordinates but didn't dissipate it. "So, how are we going to find them?" Kai asked after explaining there weren't any obvious indicators of where the others had gone.
"Im picking up a trail of footprints heading northeast," Leo said, "I can also hear people in that direction, so that seems to be the direction we should take." Damon and Kai nodded as they headed northeast.
It didn't take them long to get to a village. People were on their knees while some weird humanoid creatures milled around in a threatening manner. A large humanoid alien in red armor was pacing directly in front of a rock that held 5 swords.
Suddenly, they spotted a young woman running towards the village. "That's Maya, the woman who came through the portal," Kai pointed out, "The others must be close behind."
Leo nodded. "How about we strafe around to the other side of those things and pincer them between our groups?" he suggested, "That should give us the element of surprise so we can get the jump on them."
Kai and Damon nodded, as they hurried around the outskirts the village and made it to the center just as Mike, Kendrix, and Johnny ran up to Maya, who had made like Tarzan and kicked the armored creature when they threatened an old man.
The red armored being taunted them, asking if the four of them were all that was coming just as Leo, Damon, and Kai came rushing up. "No, but the 7 of us should be enough to beat your ass, shithead," Leo called out.
The other 4 made their way around to where Leo and his group were. "Do what you can to get those smaller creatures away from the villagers and get them out of here," he told the others, "I've got the big guy." The others nodded and they spread out.
"Oh, you've 'got me', do you?" the armored being said as him and Leo circled around each other, "I don't know who you think you are, but I'm Furio, the mightiest of Scorpius' Generals, and you're nothing to me."
"Huh, that's funny," Leo said, "I was fighting a guy the other day that was about as delusional as you are and guess what, the battle consisted of two hits, one hit being me busting his teeth out and the other him hitting the ground.
"As for this Scorpius asshole, if you're the mightiest general he has, he's in trouble," Leo continued, "As for who I am, all you need to know is that I'm Trezo-El of Krypton, adopted son of Earth, and you're in big trouble too, asshole."
Furio's eyes widened at that. 'Shit, a Kryptonian,' he thought and actually wavered for a moment. It was widely known how powerful Kryptonians were under a yellow sun such as Mirinoi's, but they were supposed to be extinct! In the end, though, he growled and swung his sword.
Leo yawned dramatically as he waited until the very last second before reaching up and to Furio's astonishment, he caught his sword easily between his thumb and forefinger and no matter how hard he tried continuing the swing or pulling it back, the sword wasn't budging. "So, the legends are true," he muttered in awe.
"Told ya you're in trouble," Leo taunted.
There was an ultra-quick hand movement from Leo that was so fast, Furio's eyes couldn't even follow. He was shocked to be sent flying backwards a good 20 feet backwards with an Oomph, the wind rushing from his lungs. His armor was cracked a little from where he'd been hit.
When he landed, Furio saw that Leo still had his huge sword, which he then nonchalantly flipped around then with a quick flick of the wrist sent it back to its wielder like it was nothing.
The force of Leo's throw drove the sword halfway into the ground by Furio's feet as the monster slowly got back to his feet, already breathing hard and rubbing his sternum as he started wrestling it up out of the ground. He'd never been hit that hard, not even by a fully grown monster.
"Trezo, help!" Leo heard Kendrix exclaim. He turned to find the others being overwhelmed. She was the closest, so he grabbed the arm of a Sting Winger about to strike her while she was down.
"I don't think so, asshole," Leo said, "I don't know where the Hell you guys came from but on Earth, you get your ass beat for even thinking of striking a beautiful woman like her."
With that, Leo let go of the creature's arm but grabbed the back of its uniform and sent it flying in Furio's general direction before he walked over to Kendrix and extended a hand. He heard him cussing. indicating he'd hit him with his stooge. "Are you all right, ma'am?" he asked.
"I think so and thanks, Trezo," Kendrix said and clasped Leo's hand.
'Whoa, déjà vu,' they both thought as Leo helped pull Kendrix to her feet.
"Hey, it's no problem, ma'am," Leo said with a grin and wink.
Leo turned back to see who else might need his help and didn't see Kendrix's eyes go wide as she mouthed "Leo?" as that had been too much like when they'd been reunited a few days prior, not to mention she found all of his little mannerisms all too familiar.
Meanwhile, Mike was kicked by a Sting Winger onto the rock with the swords and out of desperation he pulled out the center sword to the astonishment of the inhabitants of the village and struck the creature.
Leo grinned over his shoulder at Kendrix. "Why don't you go see if you can pull an Excalibur out of the stone too, Arthelia?" he encouraged her, nodding towards the stone where 4 more swords still were.
Kendrix smiled. 'So, it is you,' she realized. Apparently, Leo didn't remember they used to take turns pretending to be King Arthur after watching The sword in the stone as kids and he often called her that, saying it was one possible feminized form of the legendary figure's name.
Kendrix hurried up to Mike took the furthest sword on his right Kai took the one between them, Damon on the other side, and Maya the furthest on his left, and together, they extracted the other four swords from the stone. Leo noticed their friend Johnny looked a little disappointed.
"This is impossible!" Furio shouted as he rushed up to the group.
"I found out a long time ago that nothing's impossible," Leo replied from behind Furio, who turned just to get smacked again, harder this time which sent him flying over the heads of his brother and friends.
"That's it!" Furio shouted as he got back to his feet. "If I can't have the Quasar Sabers, no one will!" With that, he drove his huge sword point first and a wave issued forth. Anything it touched became petrified. To their horror, most of the village and villagers were engulfed in seconds.
"Go, go, go!" Leo told the others, "I don't have time to calculate the coordinates for another portal from here before the petrifaction wave gets us. All of you know which way the portal is and I'm trusting you to get everyone through it, Damon, then use the earlier one to get to your workspace."
"I'll keep Furio off you as long as I can," Leo continued, "If I don't catch up before you get back to the moon, dissipate the portal here to make sure the petrification wave doesn't go through it. I promise I'll see you on the other side shortly." Most of the others nodded.
"Won't you get stranded here and petrified?" Maya asked.
"Don't worry, Trezo can get back on his own," Kendrix promised then added almost inaudibly "Go get 'em, Leo". She grinned when Leo's head whipped back and he looked at her in shock before she followed the others through the jungle.
Leo turned as the Sting Wingers began blasting him with no effect. He clapped his hands hard, using the energy he'd absorbed to create a shockwave that knocked them all down. He growled when Furio teleported away and the Sting Wingers flew away, then turned and started running after the others to make sure they made it back all right.

Leo caught up with them to find that Furio had ambushed them and had now driven his sword into the ground again but instead of a second petrification wave, it instead caused a chasm to slowly open in the direction of the group.
Most of them got out of the way but Mike couldn't because of all the shaking going on. Knowing what was about to happen and he didn't have time to jump away, he called out "Johnny, catch!" before he tossed his Quasar Saber over to Johnny before falling.
"NO!" Leo screamed. The ground was shaking so much that he couldn't keep up his momentum and he had to use the last of it to dive towards the chasm, getting just to the edge of it.
Mike had been able to catch onto some vines along the side and was just barely hanging on. Leo was able to grab one of his hands and tried to pull him up, but he couldn't as he had no leverage to use his strength.
"Somebody, please help us!" Leo shouted but when he looked around in desperation, he saw the others being held back or otherwise too busy to get to them. "Hold on sir! I'll get you up somehow!"
"Leo, let me go," Mike whispered just loud enough for his brother to hear, "As strong as you are, we both know your powers have limits. If you don't let go of me, we might both fall and there's no telling what's down there. Even you might not be able to survive it."
"I don't care!" Leo shouted, tears streaming down his cheeks. He said the next part softly. "I lost my planet, I lost our parents… I can't lose another Dad. Amanda can't lose you."
"Damn it, listen to me!" Mike hissed, also crying. "I'm counting on you to get the others home and to take care of Amanda." He struggled to get something out of his pocket as well as take off his dog-tags.
"Tell her I'm so sorry I never got the chance to ask her and that I love her so much," Mike continued, "Always remember how much I love you and how proud I am of how you've grown up before my eyes and of everything you've done as Trezo, my brother, my son. Now go!"
With that, Mike finished wrapping his dog tags around the object from his pocket and threw them both directly at Leo, who was surprised at something flying at his face that he'd let go of his brother's hand to catch it, accidentally letting his brother fall.
Leo started to fall after Mike, but someone pulled him away from the edge as the chasm closed. "No!" he shouted as he broke away from them and started pounding the ground. 'I can dig my way down,' he thought, 'I have to save Mike!'
"I'm sorry, Leo, but he's gone," a voice whispered in Leo's ear as they pulled him away from where the chasm had been. It was Kendrix and he wasn't surprised to see her crying as well.
Kendrix pulled Leo into a tight hug to try and keep him from digging anymore as well as to console him. "There's no way that even you can dig down fast enough before the petrification wave gets here," she added.
"Damn it, let me go, Kendrix! I've got to save him!" Leo said but he found himself so emotionally drained that he couldn't do anything and started sobbing into Kendrix's shoulder.
"Aw, did you fail to save your friend?" Furio taunted, as he stepped towards Leo and Kendrix, starting to raise his sword. "Don't worry, I'll put both you and your little girlfriend out of your miseries, little Kryptonian."
Surprisingly, it was Johnny who stepped in front of Furio, bringing up the sword that Mike had thrown to him to block his strike. "I don't think so, shithead," he said, "I may not be Kryptonian, but that doesn't mean I can't beat your ass!"
"And what do you think you're going to do, huh?" Furio asked with a sneer, "You're useless, nothing but a reject. You're not worthy of the honor of wielding a Quasar Saber!"
"As an orphan, I've been hearing that all my life, so your words mean shit to me," Johnny snapped, "Other than my sister, I've never really had family until I met the man you just murdered and these brave people behind me… AND YOU'RE NOT TAKING ANYMORE AWAY FROM ME!"
Furio actually took a step back as Johnny's hate-filled teary eyes started glowing a fierce red as did his sword and a strange device appeared on his wrist. Suddenly, he tossed his Quasar Saber into the air and brought the device up.
"GO GALACTIC!" Johnny shouted, hitting a glowing button on the device. His body glowed red and when it dissipated, he was wearing a costume made of a spandex-like material. He caught the Quasar Saber easily.
"Leo, I need to go help Johnny," Kendrix murmured and frowned worriedly when Leo didn't respond as she pulled away, but she had to put it out of her mind for now as she went to stand with Johnny as did the other 3 that had pulled a Quasar Saber.
"GO GALACTIC!" the quartet called out and they morphed into suits like Johnny's. With that, they felt re-energized and most of them began battling the Sting Wingers with renewed vigor while Johnny took Furio head-to-head, some instinct telling him how to wield it.
'Get up!' a voice in the back of Leo's mind yelled. He wasn't surprised it sounded like a mixture of his parents, Mike, Amanda, and Kendrix. 'Your friends need you to get them back home. Your job here isn't done, Trezo-El!'
That got Leo to stand up, turning as Johnny charged his Quasar Saber and slashed at Furio, knocking him back and making him get entangled in some of the overgrowth. "What are you doing, Le… Trezo?" Kendrix asked, catching herself before she could say his name.
"Ending this… after you're gone," Leo replied to Kendrix as he opened a portal to his right then stepped past them all. He'd worked on the coordinates before catching up to them. He could hear the petrification wave closing in and it sounded like it was almost to the initial portal so he sent the command to dissipate it.
"Furio's ass is mine," Leo said, "Damon, get your device out and use the portal I just made to get everybody out of here then dissipate this portal when you get through. I dissipated the tether for the other one, so it should be closed, but please check when you get back to make sure."
Damon nodded and did as Leo ordered. He turned to Kendrix, handing her the items Mike had thrown at him. "I should meet you back there shortly, but if I… please get those back to any family that brave man had," he told her.
"Don't do this," Kendrix pleaded softly as Damon worked on getting his portal opener to do its magic. "The petrification wave is getting closer. I can feel it. I still have so much to tell you. I…"
"Don't worry, I don't plan to get caught up in it," Leo promised just as softly, "I'd never think about doing that before we talk about what's going on between us." Under her helmet, Kendrix couldn't help but smile at that. "Now go. Your safety is much more important to me."
Kendrix reluctantly nodded and once the portal was open, she followed most of the the others as they fled Mirinoi. "I'm sorry I just lied to you, Kendrix," Leo whispered as she stepped through the portal, "I hope you will forgive me one day. Keep an eye on Amanda for us."
Johnny stayed behind. "No way I'm leaving you behind," he said, "He's not that tough, so why don't you and I beat his ass as a team and go back to Terra Venture together? With these powers, I'll help you keep the colony safe from now on and I'm sure the others will too."
"I appreciate the thought, but I'm telling you you're going through that portal right now, one way or another," Leo warned Johnny, though he was touched at the man's loyalty to someone he'd just met and owed him big for stepping in front of Furio when he did.
"If I don't make it back to Terra Venture, I'm counting on you to keep them and Terra Venture safe," Leo added. He had a feeling that was the best way to appeal to his new friend.
Johnny growled a string of expletives under his breath that made Leo chuckle before reluctantly nodding. "Don't make me regret this," he said before stepping through the portal, which Damon closed once he was through.
"What are you going to do now that you're all alone and will soon be swept up in my petrification wave?" Furio taunted. He growled as Leo seemed to be ignoring him. "ANSWER ME, DAMN YOU!"
"What am I going to do?" Leo asked, "Nothing at the moment." With that, he hit the El shield on his chest, deactivating his suit and making it revert into his street clothes then pushed his thumb and forefinger into either side of his larynx, deactivating his voice changer.
"You see, I'm shedding all of what makes me the superhero Trezo," Leo continued in his natural voice as he touched a spot just under his chin to deactivate his image inducer as he spun and faced his Furio, who honestly looked scared at the look of pure hatred in the young man's eyes.
"And now that I have, I'm going to beat your ass… as an adopted son of Earth and brother of the man you JUST MURDERED, YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Leo screamed and with that, he rushed Furio.
What the armored monster hadn't realized that Leo hadn't been ignoring him but instead focusing on building kinetic power to strengthen his punches more, bouncing almost imperceptibly on his heels and slamming his hands together, and now put that into a huge punch.
To his credit, Furio's head wasn't separated from his body, but he was sent flying a good 30 feet feet. He got back to his feet but before he could fully recover, Leo began laying into him with punch after punch, before drop-kicking him. He'd always been a huge wrestling fan and often mixed it in when fighting.
Before he could lose his momentum energy, Leo then knelt down, tensed his legs, and launched himself high into the air, aiming directly at Furio as he began free-falling towards his opponent.
Furio landed flat on his back, stunned, and could could only watch on in awe as Leo leaped high into the sky, looking to end his opponent, not caring that he could see the petrification wave closing in on the two combatants as long as he avenged Mike's murder.
However, those plans were ruined when with a whooshing sound, something grabbed Leo out of midair. He looked up and saw Kal. "NO!" he yelled, trying to break free but his brother had too tight a grip on him. "DAMN IT, LET ME GO, KAL! I HAVE TO AVENGE MIKE!"
But Kal ignored his brother. "I'm going to take us up out of the atmosphere before I portal shift us back to Earth to make sure the petrification wave doesn't follow us, so you might want to reactivate your gear," he said. Still screaming profanities, Leo reluctantly did as his brother said.
They went through a portal and back to the Justice League's lunar headquarters, where Kara was waiting for them. "Why did you do that, Kal?!" Leo demanded, whirling on his brother as he let him go. "Furio needed to pay for what he did to Mike and the people of Mirinoi!"
"Not at the cost of losing you," Kara interjected.
"That was not for you to decide, either of you!" Leo exclaimed.
"Do you really think Mike would've wanted you to sacrifice yourself like that?" Kal asked softly, "No, he'd want you to look after Amanda and Kendrix and he'd want you to look after Terra Venture in his place." Leo hung his head as he knew his brother was right.
"You lied to me," a soft voice interrupted from behind Leo. He didn't have to turn to know it was Kendrix and he knew that she was probably pissed but when she touched his shoulder and he turned to face her she didn't look angry, more like concerned.
"I'm sorry, Kendrix, but I had to," Leo said, deactivating his gear. "I had no intention of leaving Mirinoi without avenging Mike. I know you would've been back-to-back with me until the petrification wave hit us and there was no way in Hell I could let that happen. I… care about you too much."
"And I care about you a lot too, so please don't ever do that to me again," Kendrix said, "Terra Venture needs you, Amanda will need you more than ever with Mike gone, and… I need you." The last part was added very softly.
Leo nodded and suddenly, the flood of emotions came crashing back and his legs collapsed under him. Kendrix dropped to her knees as well and hugged him tightly as they both cried.

A couple of hours later…
Leo stepped into the Comet Café. Now open, the place was packed. He'd spent what had felt like eternity in the lunar HQ in Kendrix's arms as they had sobbed at the loss of Mike, who had always meant so much to both of them, before Kara teleported them to his apartment.
A hostess came up. "Hi, I need to talk to Amanda, where is she?" Leo asked her. She pointed to the bar area, where Amanda was dropping off some orders. He reluctantly headed over to her. "Amanda?"
"Oh hey, Leo," Amanda said with a bright smile, "I don't know if I can get you a table as swamped as we are, but there are a few seats here and there around the bar if you want something."
"I need to talk to you alone, Mom," Leo answered, "You have a minute?"
"Sure, just give me a sec," Amanda said, getting a bad feeling about this. She called a server over to keep an eye on her tables. She had Leo step over to the small office she had in the back. "So, what did you need to talk about, sweetie?"
"Something bad's happened," Leo said, "Mike, Kendrix, and their friend Johnny went through some kind of portal to another world that was in danger. I followed them as Trezo as well as a couple of other guys… and I'm so sorry to tell you this, Mom, but Mike didn't make it back."
As he went into detail over what happened, Amanda felt numb at Leo's words. She'd been having a bad feeling all day because she hadn't heard from Mike. Even if he couldn't call her, he'd never pass up an opportunity to send a text, a goofy pic, or even just a cute little emoji to show he was thinking of her.
'I never even got the chance to tell him he's going to be a father,' Amanda thought, absently rubbing her stomach.
Amanda had dropped by a clinic before work and they'd confirmed that she was a little over 3 months pregnant, news that she was expecting as they'd been trying for a baby for a few years but now, it broke her heart since she was going to have to raise the baby without Mike.
Leo walked over to Amanda and she fell into his arms, both crying. "He wanted me to tell you that he loved you more than life itself," he murmured as she desperately clung to him, "I love you too and I promise I will always be here for you, Mom." She nodded. That was never in doubt.
Leo led Amanda out of the Comet Café, telling the Manager on shift that she had a family emergency and might need a few days. They went to their apartment, where she really broke down, crying on his shoulder well into the night.

A few days later…
Leo sighed as he looked down the hall to the door to Amanda's bedroom worriedly. She rarely came out except to eat and even then, it was only the bare minimum at first but once she revealed her pregnancy, he'd been gently pushing her to eat more as she was eating for two.
It went without saying that while Terra Venture's launch had gone off without a hitch and everyone onboard the colony celebrated, Leo and Amanda had been in mourning.
Amanda rarely left her room and Leo practically never left the building, not even going out to the fire escape, the roof, or Shedquarters often, much less patrolling the city.
Leo looked up as the door buzzed. He guessed it to be Kendrix and wasn't disappointed though it wasn't just her. Kai, Johnny, and to his surprise Angie were there as well. He half-expected to see Damon and Maya as well but guessed it was because they didn't know him in his civilian identity or really even know Mike.
Kendrix wasted no time in giving Leo a tight hug as both of them started crying. He knew this had to be hitting her about as hard as him and Amanda as she'd just lost her Mom not that long ago and now, she'd lost a close longtime friend. The official story was she'd been the one to tell him as soon as they got back to Terra Venture.
"I'd ask how you're doing but it's such a stupid question I won't even bother," Kendrix said in an attempt to get Leo to laugh as she pulled back but not completely out of his arms. It didn't quite work but she did get a little smile for the effort.
"It's so hard," Leo admitted softly.
"I know but I also know Mike would be so proud of you for standing strong and helping Amanda through this," Kendrix said, "I know I am." She reluctantly fully pulled away. "Speaking of Amanda, do you mind if I go see if she needs anything or wants to talk?"
"Please," Leo requested and Kendrix headed down the hall. He turned to the others. "Thanks for coming, everybody."
"We're so sorry about Mike," Angie replied, "I didn't really know him very well, but these 3 thought the world of him, so I imagine I probably would've gotten along with him. From what them and Kendrix have told me, the universe lost one of the good ones."
"Thank you, Angie," Leo said. He glanced at the two guys. Even though he kind of knew them as they'd seen battle together on Mirinoi, he had to play it dumb as that was him as Trezo and he wouldn't know them very well outside of his superhero persona. "Kai and Johnny, right?"
The two nodded. "We're so sorry for barging in like this, but Mike was a close friend of ours and we just had to come give our respects to you and Amanda," Johnny said. Kai nodded.
"And after my not so little brother here mentioned your name and what had happened, I just had to come see how you were doing," Angie added.
Leo nodded then shook his head to clear it. "I'm sorry, I'm a horrible host," he said, "Would any of you like something? I haven't had the chance to get supplies in a few days, so I'm not sure what food we have, but I do know we've got plenty of soda, regular and Diet, and bottled water in the fridge if you're thirsty."
Leo started to step over to the kitchen, but Angie stopped him. "No, don't worry about that right now," she said, "You look all wound up and like you're about to pass out on us any minute, so why don't we all sit down and see if you can relax a little?"
Leo nodded. He was feeling terrible. He might have a better immune system being Kryptonian, but he hadn't really slept at all since Mirinoi and that combined with constantly worrying about Amanda and hers and Mike's unborn baby was just draining on him.
Leo headed over to the loveseat and plopped down on it and Angie took a seat next to him and Kai and Johnny sat on the other couch. "I'm sorry if this is a touchy subject but I think Mike told me you two are orphans like him and I are?" he mentioned to her and and her brother.
Angie nodded. "Kind of as our Mom died after giving birth to us and our biological Dad was never found and could be dead too for all we know, so as far as we know yeah, we're orphans," she said.
"We bounced around the foster system, sometimes in the same home sometimes in separate ones, but we were lucky enough to have mostly not lost contact. Eventually, we aged out and I became a cop, where I ended up getting assigned to Blackgate as you know." Leo nodded.
"While I joined the Marines," Johnny continued, "We were offered spots here, Angie on the TVPD and me in infantry/security, and we jumped at the chance at what's sure to be an amazing adventure and we don't regret it for a moment." Angie nodded.
"I didn't lose my parents, but I did lose my maternal grandparents about 20 years ago," Kai revealed, "I don't remember them much as I was pretty young at the time, but I do remember enough that I still miss them."
"When our parents died, I shut down," Leo admitted, "I was a lot like Amanda is now, not wanting to leave my bed much less my room or the house and I definitely didn't to go to school, where everyone would be either looking at me sadly or teasing me, neither of which I could take.
"Mike, Amanda, and Kendrix and her Mom Valerie helped me see how much they would've hated seeing me like that and I've strived to make myself better ever since," Leo continued, "Mike and Amanda have been raising me ever since and became my second Dad and Mom."
"I'm sure your parents, Valerie, and Mike are all proudly smiling down at you right now in seeing how you're handling this, especially in how you're looking after Amanda," Angie said, patting Leo's knee. He nodded and smiled. This was helping a lot, finding common ground with most of his new friends.
Leo heard Amanda's door open and saw Kendrix step out, calling his name. "I'll be right back but again, check the fridge if you get thirsty and if you can find something to eat, you're welcome to it," he said. The 3 nodded as he stood up and headed down the hall.
Leo was relieved to see Amanda sitting up in bed talking to Kendrix and both smiled as he entered the room. It was the most active he'd seen her since he'd dropped the news about Mike. "Is everything all right in here?" he asked, "Are you and the…" He cut off in mid-sentence as he didn't know if his friend knew about the baby.
"I'm fine, so's the baby far as I know, and yes, I told her," Amanda reassured Leo with a smile and he sighed with relief, "I just wanted you to know how grateful I am for all you've done for me the last few days, Leo. You've been so amazing since you told me about… what happened."
"Hey, you and the baby are the last parts of my family left and that's what family's for," Leo replied, "The 3 of us have been through a lot together and I know we can see this through by sticking together. I know Mike would want that."
Amanda stood up and gave Leo a kiss and hug. "I love you, Leo," she said.
"I love you too, Mom," Leo replied. Amanda felt tears well up at that. Kendrix also couldn't help but get misty eyed. He motioned her over and she joined in the hug.
The trio headed out to join their guests. Amanda knew Kai and Johnny and took to Angie quickly. Not long after, Damon and Maya had joined them as she asked Kendrix to call them because she wanted to meet most of the people that had been with Mike on the mission to Mirinoi.
A little later, Leo grinned when he noticed Johnny eyeing Maya, who was chatting with Kendrix, whose apartment she'd been staying in since coming to Terra Venture with them, and Angie. Amanda was on the phone ordering them some food. 'Can't blame him,' he thought, 'Maya's very beautiful.'
"You should go talk to her," Leo encouraged Johnny.
"I don't know," Johnny said, rubbing the back of his neck. "I mean, look at Maya and look at me. Do I look like I'm even remotely in the same league as someone as beautiful as her? Not to mention she just lost her planet, her people. What can I offer her in the face of that? Besides, this night's about honoring Mike's memory."
"Don't think of it like that or you'll never find someone," Leo replied, "What's the saying, 'You miss 100% of the shots you never take'? You seem to be a good guy and you're a good looking one at that. All I can say is give it a chance and I know Mike wouldn't mind. In fact, if he was here, I know he'd be telling you to go for it too."
Johnny sighed and nodded as he knew his newfound buddy was right. "Well, what about you?" he asked, "You and Kendrix seem to have a thing going or at least probably will soon enough and I think you should know my sister is pretty interested as well."
'Just my luck, my first attempt at a hopeful girlfriend since Cassie and I finally called it quits for good and I find myself in a potential love triangle,' Leo mused with a chuckle.
"I honestly don't know what's going on with Kendrix and I," Leo said, giving Kendrix a glance. "It's complicated to say the least. And thanks for the heads up on Angie, but here's your big chance."
Johnny followed Leo's line of sight and noticed Maya heading over to the kitchen area to grab a drink. Letting out a big breath, he stepped over to her. He couldn't take his eyes off her ass bouncing as she danced around to some song Kendrix was playing on her phone as he walked up to her. 'Cut it out, you idiot,' he chided himself, 'You're a grown man not some…'
Johnny thoughts were cut off in mid-sentence as Maya backed up suddenly and bumped into his groin. He groaned inwardly as he brushed up against the part of her that he'd just been admiring was very embarrassing.
"Oh geez, I'm so sorry, Johnny," Maya said, trying not to turn red as she realized that she'd brushed up against Johnny's… She shook the thought out of her head and smiled at him as she closed the fridge and leaned back against it. "So, what brings you over here?"
"I was wondering if you'd like to go get lunch or dinner sometime," Johnny kind of blurted out. He winced as that was pretty pathetic but at least Maya didn't laugh at him but instead kept smiling.
"Sure, I'd love to get something with you guys," Maya said.
"No, I mean just you and me," Johnny said.
"Oh, you mean like a date?" Maya asked. She was trying not to laugh at Johnnys obvious nervousness as she didn't want him to think she was making fun of him. He'd helped her during the fight on Mirinoi and she owed him that much. 'Doesn't hurt that he's really cute,' she mused.
"Ummm… well, yeah," Johnny said.
"I'd love to," Maya said. Johnny sighed with relief as that took a load off.

It was getting near dinner time, but no one wanted to leave so Amanda ordered some food for everyone from the Comet Café though instead of wine this time, she broke out a few bottles of whiskey she'd actually been brewing herself for years now.
Leo went to get them out of a "storage room in the basement", actually portal shifting upstairs to grab them out of Shedquarters. Amanda had him grab them out of her oldest batch as they should be good and strong. Everyone partook in the whiskey except of course the Mom-to-be herself and complimented her on it.
Maya especially liked it. She explained that while the people of Mirinoi had alcohol, she'd never drank any, so this was quite the treat for her. Leo drank some mostly in the spirit of bonding and Kendrix only drank a little as her drunken actions the night that one night was still fresh in her mind.
The party soon turned into an impromptu wake for Mike as most of them shared a memory of him. Damon had just barely met him before the final confrontation with Furio and didn't really say much except that he seemed like a great man that he knew he would've gotten along with.
Angie had also barely known Mike except mostly through stories from Johnny and Kai, but she did have a good story about when she met him during her interview in the selection process.
Mike had pretended to just be another potential selectee, chatting Angie up and helping build up her confidence, only for her to go in to find he was part of the committee and had already talked the rest into approving her.
While she didn't know Mike well either, Maya did tell them the full story of what had happened before she fell through the portal and how brave he was to escort her back with no hesitation. It was a bit of a somber story given how they knew how it ended but was still a good story.
Kai and Johnny had a funny story about a prank they'd pulled with Mike on Commander Stanton a couple of years ago. With the permission of his now ex-wife, they'd shadowed him around his house making sure to leave little things out of place to drive him nuts and try to convince him that the place was haunted.
They'd kept it up for almost 3 days before Commander Stanton figured out that it was them and while he had to punish them, he only gave them a light one and it was a story they all laughed about to this day.
Amanda told a story that not even Leo had known the full details about, how she first met Mike when he had saved her from an abusive boyfriend back in high school. The guy should've been expelled but had influential parents, though he made sure the asshole never bothered her again.
"It wasn't quite love at first sight since as you can imagine, I didn't have much faith in men for a while after that, but he worked the Corbett charm and eventually won me over right before what was supposed to be our Senior Prom, though we never made it," Amanda finished. Her wide grin told them all exactly why they didn't make it and they laughed.
Kendrix had a simple lighthearted story, where a misunderstanding with her Mom had left her stranded at the mall near closing time. She couldn't get a hold of Val but was surprised when out of the blue, she had been able to get hold of Mike, who didn't hesitate in dropping everything to go pick her up.
Leo's story was very somber, an extended version of the story he had told Angie, Kai, and Johnny about the dark period in his life after his and Mike's parents had died. "I was lucky though," he said, looking over at Amanda. "I was raised by two sets of amazing parents." That got everyone crying a little.
The party started winding down not long afterward. Amanda offered to let everyone stay the night as it was very early morning and most of the group were fairly tipsy. It was decided Kendrix would sleep in the main bedroom with her, Maya and Angie would take the guest room, and most of the guys would sleep in the living room.
Leo also offered to share his bedroom to at least one of the other guys to be fair and even said he'd crash on the couch so two of them could sleep in there, but they turned it down, so Amanda got out out some blankets and pillows for them to camp out in the living room.

Leo tossed and turned for a while before sitting up. No matter what he tried, he just couldn't get to sleep. He'd usually go watch tv in the living room but that was obviously out as was playing a game in his room as he didn't want to disturb Amanda and Kendrix.
Leo finally ended up just climbing out the window to the fire escape, leaving it open a bit in case someone woke up and poked their head in, so they'd know where he was. He didn't go up to the roof, instead just hanging out on the landing outside.
Leo didn't know how long he'd been out there but just as the sun was about to start rising, he heard someone calling his name and he ducked his head through the window to see Angie sticking her head in. He called back softly to get her attention to the window and she joined him.
"Sorry but I couldn't get back to sleep after a restroom trip and didn't want to wake Maya," Angie said, "I was going to go join the other guys in the living room and maybe send a half-asleep Johnny to join his new girlfriend in bed to see how that turned out, but I heard the noises of the city coming through your window and thought I'd see what you were doing."
Leo nodded and chuckled at the thought of what Johnny's reaction to that prank would've been. "Same on not sleeping," he said, "Back on Earth, I'd always come out onto the fire escape or even go on up to the roof when I couldn't sleep, so I guess it's become a habit that's carried over to my life here."
Leo and Angie didn't say much for several minutes as they watched the sunrise together. "I can see why you like coming out here," she said, "It's really peaceful and beautiful."
"I don't know about peaceful but boy, I'll say it's beautiful," Leo murmured but he wasn't looking at the cityscape or the rising sun but the redhead next to him, the dawning artificial light enhancing Angie's beauty and making her hair look like it was on fire.
Angie looked over at Leo with a raised eyebrow. "Why, Mr. Corbett, if I didn't know any better, I'd swear you're trying to seduce me," she replied and laughed when he blushed.
"And what if I am?" Leo asked softly, leaning a little closer.
"Then I'd say it's working," Angie replied with a smirk, "Now, are you going to kiss me so we can get this party started or what?" Leo couldn't help but chuckle at her straightforwardness though he was used to it as Amanda tended to be the same way.
'Don't do it, Corbett,' a nagging voice chided Leo, 'You've got to know this will only end in heartbreak, especially if/when Kendrix finds out.' However, he found Angie's pursed lips too irresistible, so he couldn't help but kiss her.
The kiss quickly became heated as Leo felt Angie's tongue lightly probing his lips and he opened them to allow it access as he pulled her closer. However, a little common sense won out and he pulled away.
"I can't do this… not here I mean," Leo said, adding that last part when a disappointed expression crossed Angie's face. "I doubt a fire escape would be the best place for it to not to mention Mom or one of the others could walk into my room at any time and catch us. Long story short, I promised her and Dad I wouldn't do that in the apartment."
Angie nodded as the 3 points made sense. "All right, how about we go up to the roof?" she suggested, "Environmental hasn't scheduled any rain tonight so it'd be pretty perfect if we have a blanket or sheet under us so we're comfortable and you'd still be kind of keeping the promise."
Leo nodded. "You head on up and find us a nice, discreet spot and I'll grab a few things like a couple of blankets, a few pillows, and some condoms," he said, "Not that I mean to imply you've got anything and I can promise you I don't but…"
"I don't and I believe you don't either but yeah, condoms would be a good idea as I'd rather not risk getting pregnant right now," Angie agreed, "Don't keep me waiting long."
"Not a chance," Leo promised with a grin and wink.
With that and another kiss, Angie headed up the ladder to the roof. She had a skirt on, so this gave Leo the perfect view of the fact she didn't even have panties on, which made his heart really begin racing. She gave him a wink over her shoulder before she stepped up onto the roof.

Kendrix couldn't sleep so she tried her best to get out of bed as quietly as possible to not disturb Amanda. She just couldn't get Leo out of her mind all night and heard him tossing and turning so she was going to go talk to him about how things were between them.
Kendrix looked down at the shirt Leo had loaned her for the night with a smile as she imagined what his reaction would be if he found out that she didn't have anything on underneath. Not that she'd meant to, but she didn't have any clean panties or a bra and was in a hurry and didn't plan on staying the night, so she had gone commando.
"Of course, he sure didn't seem to mind I didn't have any under my dress the night I kissed him,' Kendrix mused.
Kendrix quietly opened the door and headed down the hall to Leo's door and knocked for a moment but with no answer. 'That's weird cause I know I heard him moving around in there earlier, but I don't think I heard him come out into the hall,' she thought.
'Oh duh, he mentioned they have a fire escape outside his room here too so must be out there or maybe up on the roof like always and can't hear me,' Kendrix finally realized.
Boy had they spent a lot of time on the fire escape back in the day! It'd been how they met. Kendrix had just moved in next door to the Corbetts with her Mom and their rooms had shared the fire escape. Their friendship started on the day the Corbetts moved in when he found her on the fire escape after a miserable day.
Kendrix opened the door and took a few steps into the room and saw Angie and Leo on the fire escape talking… and her heart sank when he leaned towards the beautiful redhead and kissed her.
Kendrix watched, transfixed, as they made out. 'I'm too late,' she realized, hanging her head. 'He's made his choice.' She'd noticed them kind of flirting off and on through the night but had hoped she still had Leo's attention on herself.
The two pulled apart after a moment and Kendrix heart continued to break as she eavesdropped on their plans to have sex up on the roof. She quickly turned and left as she saw first Angie head up the ladder and Leo about to come back in.
Kendrix had heard Leo say he was going to grab a second blanket so waited for him to come out into the hall which he did a few minutes later. He didn't even look her way he was so focused on getting the blanket. She opened her mouth.

Leo couldn't help but feel giddy as he slipped back through the window, quickly stripping the covers off his bed and grabbing the pillows as well and tossing them out onto the fire escape. He stepped out into the hall and got a second blanket out of the hall closet.
"Leo?" a soft voice asked.
Leo froze and spun around to find Kendrix watching him as she stepped closer. She had borrowed a shirt that dwarfed her body. He couldn't help but wonder if she was wearing anything underneath it. "Uh… oh, hey Kendrix," he replied quietly, "What are you doing up?"
Kendrix shook her head. "I just needed to use the bathroom and thought I'd check on the guys in the living room while I was up," she answered, "What are you doing out here at this time of night? Are you alright?"
"Yeah, I was just getting kind of hot in there and I thought I'd grab a thinner blanket or something," Leo lied.
"All right then, good night," Kendrix said, surprising Leo when she kissed his cheek. He didn't see her starting to tear up as she stepped past him and headed into the room she was sharing with Amanda.
Leo hung his head guiltily as that talk hit him like Kal or Kara punching him in the gut. Here he was with one beautiful woman he was crazy about ready for a wild time up on the roof while another was down here still waiting for him to make a move. It didn't take him long to decide which of the 2 women he truly wanted to pursue.
Putting the blanket back in the hall and the supplies on the fire escape back on his bed, Leo went up to the roof to find Angie fully nude. 'She was right that I'd love where she had the tattoo of my placement of my symbol,' he mused as he noticed said symbol was on her right breast, just above the areola.
"I was beginning to think you weren't going to show up after all," Angie teased with a grin as she walked up and started to kiss Leo, but he somewhat reluctantly stopped her.
"I'm sorry, but I don't think I can do this after all," Leo replied.
"Whoa now, you sure seemed more than ready, willing, and able when we were making out down on the fire escape," Angie said, "What changed while you were inside?"
"I was getting a second blanket out of the hall closet… and I ran into Kendrix," Leo said.
"Oh," Angie said softly. She knew she had been sensing something between the two all throughout the get together, but nothing appeared to happen between them or she never would've taken a shot at getting together with Leo.
"I'm sorry, Angie," Leo apologized, hanging his head.
"Hey, don't worry about it," Angie replied as she started getting dressed, "I get it. You're in love with Kendrix, she's in love with you, and I knew that and shouldn't have been trying to mess that up for you. I've been there, done that with me the one getting hurt, so I wouldn't want to do to her."
"The thing is, I don't know how I feel about Kendrix yet," Leo said with a sigh, "Like I was telling Johnny earlier, it's… complicated between us. I'm just so sorry I kind of led you on. You're an amazing, beautiful woman that deserves so much more than a guy that's too hung up on an old flame."
"Neither of us has anything to apologize for, except to Kendrix," Angie said, "I'm a big girl and I know when to back off when I've stepped on someone's toes and you're handling this in the best, sweetest way you can. And take it from me, you're in love with her and vice versa. I just hope she knows how lucky she is."
"No, I'll be the lucky one if it works out with her," Leo said.
"I hope it does but if not, keep me in mind as I'm not above being a rebound," Angie said with a wink. She leaned in and looked like she was going to kiss Leo on the lips but thought better of it and kissed his cheek instead before heading down off the roof.

Leo was on the roof for a while, trying to figure his situation out. He finally headed down when he heard people stirring downstairs. He'd just climbed in through the window as Amanda opened the door. "Good morning," he said but frowned when she glared at him as she closed the door.
"You've got some explaining to do, young man," Amanda said softly, "What was the one thing Mike and I have asked of you since you hit puberty and started really noticing Kendrix was a girl?" Leo winced. How did she know about that?
"Kendrix woke me up about an hour ago crying her eyes out, saying she came to talk to you as she'd heard tossing and turning earlier and came to check on you, only to find you making out with Angie on the fire escape," Amanda continued.
"She overheard you talking about going up to the roof to have sex and that she talked to you as you were getting a blanket," Amanda finished, "Did we do something wrong in raising you to make you think that playing with their hearts like this is acceptable?"
'Shit, no wonder Kendrix was acting so strange when she caught me getting the blanket,' Leo realized. "No, you did absolutely wrong and neither did Kendrix or even Angie, Mom," he answered, "I'm the one who messed up.
"Angie couldn't really sleep either and got the same idea as Kendrix to come talk to me and she joined me out on the fire escape to watch the sunrise so she didn't bother Maya," Leo said, "She was so beautiful with the rays shining on her face that I couldn't resist kissing her.
"Then yes, we made plans for… that up on the roof but please believe me that nothing happened beyond kissing on the fire escape," Leo continued, "After I talked to Kendrix, I just couldn't go through with it."
Amanda nodded. She knew Leo wouldn't lie about something like this. "Then you need to talk to Kendrix again now, otherwise you might be out of luck," she added softly, "No more playing with that poor girl's heart, either of them, you hear me? Mike and I raised you better than that as did your parents."
"You've got it," Leo said.
"Kendrix is still across the hall last I knew," Amanda said. Leo nodded as he could hear Kendrix moving around in the other room. She led the way out of his room and whispered "Good luck" before heading to the living room.
Leo stepped across the hall, knocked, and Kendrix opened the door a couple of minutes later. He felt horrible when he saw she was still crying a little. "Can I come in?" he asked. She nodded and stepped back so he could come through the door. "Kendrix, I…"
"Please don't insult me by saying what I saw and heard wasn't what I thought," Kendrix interjected.
"I would never want to insult you deliberately though I guess I did tonight after we've started getting so close again," Leo replied then sighed, "I'll admit I kissed Angie and we'd planned to… but nothing happened other than the kissing you saw, I promise. I couldn't go through with it after you caught me grabbing a blanket."
"It doesn't matter," Kendrix argued, "Regardless of us kissing that night and our past, it's not like we're dating or anything, so I don't have the right to judge you even if you had followed through with your plans with Angie or still want to.
"We're childhood friends and sweethearts back then but while I was hoping to have that again now, I have no right to a claim over you," Kendrix continued, "I won't think less of you if you want to pursue Angie and we'll still be friends."
"Thank you for the reassurance and I would never think I have a claim on you either," Leo said, "If you don't want to be with me and when you find some lucky man, I'd be more than happy for you.
"As for Angie… look, I won't say kissing her was a mistake as I think that'd be insulting her, but something's telling me that I'll regret not seeing whatever's happening between you and me through to the end, no matter where that takes us.
"So, what do you say?" Leo asked, extending his right hand with his pinkie out. "Always together, just like old times?" It was old thing they used to do as kids to reassure each other they'd always be in each other's life. It was kind of like a pinkie promise except he used his right pinkie and she used her left one.
Grinning, Kendrix hooked Leo's pinkie with her left pinkie, another part of their old ritual. They started doing it like that after she'd broken her right arm. "Forever and ever," she said, "It's all I've wanted since I literally ran into you on your first day onboard."
"It's all I've ever wanted too," Leo admitted. He pulled Kendrix close and kissed her soundly "We should go join the others or Amanda's going to think we're fooling around in here but first I just have to know: how did you know it was me on Mirinoi? I've been going nuts trying to figure out what I said or did that made it obvious."
"My first big clue was after you saved me from the Sting Winger," Kendrix admitted, "The little grin and wink was so like you even when we were kids and the whole interaction was almost exactly like when I literally ran into you the day you came aboard Terra Venture.
"However, I didn't know for 100% certainty until after Mike pulled the Red Quasar Saber from the stone," Kendrix continued, "While you wouldn't have been the only person to make an Excalibur joke given the situation, you'd definitely be the only one to do it while calling me Arthelia."
Leo couldn't help but laugh at that. "Oh wow, Batman would kick my ass if he found out I gave you such a dead giveaway," he said, "Speaking of which, I want everyone to apply to the Justice League eventually. What do you think?"
Kendrix's jaw dropped. "It'd be an honor but are you sure?" she asked.
"I was wanting to start a Justice League branch here and I don't trust anyone on Terra Venture outside of this apartment to watch my back," Leo replied, "I won't lie and say it'll be a piece of cake, but I know you can do it. I'll go over the details with the whole team when… well, we don't have Angie around, so I can change into Trezo."
"You're not going to reveal who you are to them?" Kendrix asked.
"Eventually but I'm not sure about right away," Leo said, "I wouldn't even think about this if I didn't trust them, but because we all try to limit the number of people who know our secret identities, even within the Justice League."
Kendrix nodded as it made sense. "Wait, would you have even told me?" she asked.
"Probably not until I revealed it to everyone if you hadn't figured it out yourself," Leo said, "Please don't get upset as again, it's not about trust as you know I trust you absolutely. It's just kind of an unspoken rule among the Justice League because it could cause a domino effect that jeopardizes everything."
Kendrix nodded. She didn't like it that Leo wouldn't have told her but again, it made sense. Not that she would've ever leaked info willingly, but the less she knew the better in case she was found out and abducted.
"So, you ready to greet the world as a couple?" Leo asked, extending his hand. Kendrix grabbed hold and they walked back into the hallway hand in hand. When they joined the others, Angie looked a little sad as she noticed their joined hands but did give him a smile and nod. She was glad for him.
Leo was a little surprised to see both Maya and Johnny glaring at Angie. He later found out from Amanda found out she had gone through with her little prank idea on the other new couple before she even joined him on the fire escape.
Angie fessed up when she saw them getting chewed out by Amanda after she caught them in bed together. Luckily, she had a great sense of humor, so she was all right with it as long as nothing funny was going on under her roof and both apologized to Johnny and Maya.
"I wish I could make everyone some breakfast but as far as I know, we don't have much at all in way of food," Amanda said a little later as everyone started getting ready to leave.
"We don't but don't worry, I'll get us restocked later," Leo said.
"Don't worry about it, Amanda," Kendrix said, hugging Amanda. "We need to get going anyway as most of us have a shift starting soon. You've been amazing letting us come and stay the night with no notice, not to mention even getting us food from the Comet Cafe. Thank you so much." The others agreed.
"You're very welcome and all of you are always welcome to come back by anytime," Amanda replied.
"Absolutely… though maybe not all at once next time," Leo agreed with a grin. They all laughed at the last part.
As the group started getting their stuff ready to leave, Leo noticed Johnny and Maya talking quietly and he was tempted to listen in but didn't want to invade their privacy. He figured they were just ironing out details for a date. She gave him a wide smile and kiss on the cheek before he headed for the door, Angie right behind him. Damon and Kai weren't far behind.
Leo snagged a grinning Kendrix by the waist as her and Maya started to slip past him to leave and wrapped her in his arms. "I wish you didn't have to go," he admitted.
"I wish I didn't have to either but duty calls," Kendrix said, "I'll come by later though or maybe we can meet up at the Comet Café if I can get away for lunch." She was very reluctant to leave Leo's strong arms but knew she needed to. She extended her pinkie. "Always together."
Leo looped his around it. "Forever and ever," he said.
However, Kendrix's couldn't resist whispering "By the way, I didn't have anything on under your shirt and I still don't under this uniform" in Leo's ear after she gave him one more kiss. That made him grin like a maniac as her and Maya left.
"You've got amazing friends," Amanda told Leo.
"No, we've got amazing friends," Leo corrected Amanda. "You're as much a part of this group as I am now in a social way and at least you have a good idea of what might be coming.
"I'll be honest that I'm worried about the others," Leo admitted, "As far as I know, it'll just be the 6 of us here for who knows how long and I'm not at Kal's and Kara's level nor do we know the extent of their powers.
"What if they get in trouble and I can't portal shift to them fast enough or just simply come up short like with Mike?" Leo asked worriedly, "I can't stand the thought of anyone getting hurt, especially not friends."
"It doesn't matter if you don't have their power levels," Amanda reassured Leo. This had been a worry for him from the beginning of his superhero career, so she was used to giving him pep talks like this.
Amanda tapped Leo's chest. "You have as big a heart as they do and in the end that's what really matters," she continued, "It'll be tough, yes, but I have faith that the 6 of you can beat the odds. Trust and believe in your friends and more importantly, trust and believe in yourself."
Leo nodded and hugged Amanda. "You're the best, Mom, and I love you," he murmured and silently pledged to call her that more often as he knew it made her day anytime he said it, "I meant what I said. I was lucky to have had 3 loving Moms in my life and to still have you."
Amanda gave Leo a kiss on the cheek. "I love you too, sweetie," she said.
"Oh and one more thing," Leo said somewhat reluctantly. He took the small object Mike had thrown at him before falling out of his pocket. It was a small jeweler's box. He'd already given Amanda the dog tags, which hung around her neck, but had been waiting to give her this and this seemed as good a time as any.
"I'm sorry I didn't give you this sooner but there just never seemed to be a good time since Mirinoi until now," Leo apologized, "Mike also wanted me to give you this and that he was sorry he didn't get around to asking."
Amanda gasped. "You mean… it's a…" she started to ask. Leo nodded as he handed the box to her. She opened it to reveal the ring Mike had shown him back on Earth. She didn't hesitate to slip it on her finger and couldn't help but let the tears fall again as she hugged him. "Thank you."
"I'm sorry if this was bad timing," Leo said.
"Never for something like this," Amanda replied, "And don't worry, I've had enough of lying in that bed to last me a lifetime. Mike wouldn't want me to waste away, especially since I'm pregnant.
"He wouldn't want you to do it either," Amanda added, "I've heard you tossing and turning since that day but that better stop tonight. You start getting some real sleep, you hear me?"
"You got it, Mom," Leo answered. With that, Amanda headed out for the Comet Café.
Leo sighed as he headed to his room and up to Shedquarters to report in and to check for any trouble he needed to handle but as he got to the roof, he looked down just as all of his friends were leaving the building.
Kendrix noticed his shadow, looked up at Leo, and whispered "Go get 'em Leo" with a grin before walking off.
Leo grinned as he headed for Shedquarters. Even with what happened to Mike, life was definitely looking up. He headed inside, sat down at the main console, and started typing on it. A few seconds, later the voices came over the line. "How's it going on Terra Venture, Trezo?" came the voice of his ex, Cassie.
"It was going good until a few days ago," Leo replied.
"Wonder Girl," a certain gruff voice interjected.
"What?" Cassie asked innocently, "Are you saying you're not curious considering how much money as you put into that thing, Batman?"
"It's fine as I need to get to the report anyway, Wonder Girl," Leo said with a roll of his eyes.
Leo gave a quick report on everything that had happened since boarding Terra Venture, even mentioning what happened on and to Mirinoi with Kal corroborating it, though he left out Kendrix figuring out his secret identity, then brought up the possibly joining the League.
"Do you trust these people?" Batman asked.
"One of them, Kendrix, is an old friend of mine that I absolutely trust, Kal and Kara can back me on that," Leo replied, "I don't really know the other 4 that well yet but she can vouch for Kai and Johnny and I believe Cyborg can vouch for Damon, so I trust them enough as they all seem like good people."
"I can definitely vouch for Damon as I've known him for years," Cyborg added.
"The only potential wildcard is Maya, but…" Leo said then hesitated and everyone on the call knew why. Like Maya, he'd lost his home-world and people, in his case permanently, so it'd be natural for him to have a soft spot for her. "I have a gut feeling we can trust her and yes, Batman, I will keep a close eye on her and the others."
"They also gave a more than exemplary performance on Mirinoi despite the outcome and I think they're at least good candidates," Leo continued, "They're nowhere near ready for me to make a formal request on their behalf yet, but I was just wanting to put it out there for when they are ready."
"We'll discuss it further when you do make a formal request, but I don't see why they can't become members when you feel they're ready," Kal promised. Everyone agreed including surprisingly Batman.
Leo was hearing far off sirens and an alert popped up on the screen. "I'm hearing an emergency I probably need to go check out, so thanks for hearing me out, everyone, and see you about this time next week if not sooner." They all bid goodbye and he got the coordinates and portal shifted out of Shedquarters.
To be continued…
Notes from the author: I was going to put in a full-on sex scene with Leo and Angie but I cut it when I decided to keep to him working things out with Kendrix and also because of the policy here against explicit content. However, I've got an account with the same name as here on adultfanfiction now that I'll soon be putting little "deleted scenes" like that on.
However, while it was originally just going to be a part of a little "deleted scenes" fic along with stuff from Change the world and a few other stories, but in the case of this one, its really taken a life of its own, which is partly why I took so long starting this and continuing the White Galaxy Ranger series. I'm roughly 90% done with it, so keep an eye out over there as I'd say I'll have it done by the end of the month. Anyway, I guess that's it for now so catch ya on the flipside.
