Astraea, Artemis, and Rethusa watched Bell's final battle. The three were at the edge of their seats watching as Bell and Hyakinthos traded blows.
Artemis found herself glued to the divine mirror. Watching as Bell was laser-focused in his fight. She also noted how fighting seemed to be second nature to him.
No move was wasted and he didn't focus on showing off. Just making sure his fight would end quickly.
Her heart raced as this battle would decide the outcome of the war game. Whoever won here would win the game entirely.
She felt words stir in her throat and before she could stop herself she let out a cheer.
"Kick his ass Bell!" She cried out.
Both Astraea and Rethusa looked at Artemis in shock. Did she just cheer on a man? And it was Bell of all people. Someone she didn't like.
Artemis blushed in embarrassment and cleared her throat. She didn't say another word and turned her attention back to the divine mirror.
Astraea had a playful smirk on her face while Rethusa just chuckled. The three watched as the fight continued on. Both were equally shocked when they saw Bell use Alise's magic.
Both had known the girl during the dark age and knew of her untimely demise. But to see it once more, and this time have it be white flames instead of orange.
It was shocking.
Artemis was quick to look over to her friend. Her eyes filled with concern and worry. "Astraea-
Astraea gently smiled. "It's alright Artemis. Bell has skills and magic from my old familia. We don't know how. We don't know why. But I'm happy he does. It's like a part of them lives on through him."
Artemis grimaced before turning her attention back to the fight. She watched as it easily turned in Bell's favor and before long watched as Bell cut off Hyakitnhos's hand.
Artemis gasped in shock and nervously watched as Bell pressed the blade to Hyakinthos's neck. Astraea gripped the arms of her chair tighter while Rethusa prayed in her mind for Bell to show mercy.
"Surrender." The heard Bell demand.
Their hearts began to race as Hyakinthos looked to his sword.
"Don't do it," Artemis muttered.
"Don't, just surrender," Bell demanded once more.
Hyakinthos took a deep breath and spoke. "I-I surrender."
The three let out a sigh of relief while Astraea stood up. "I knew they could do it. Now I must go and take everything Apollo owns."
Rethusa furrowed her brow. "Aren't you the goddess of justice? That doesn't seem very justice-like." She pointed out.
Astraea turned and gave the captain an innocent grin. "Oh I know, but Apollo tried to take away my child. That simply can not stand. Now if you'll excuse me."
With that, Astraea walked out of the Stardust Garden and made her way to the Tower of Babel. Rethusa looked at her goddess with a smile twinge of fear in her eyes.
"That was scary." She said.
Artemis nodded. "Yes, Astraea takes her children's safety very seriously."

Freya watched the war game from atop Babel Tower. A wine glass was in her hand and her legs were crossed.
She had watched the war game with a fair amount of amusement seeing what Bell thought of to close the numbers gap.
Though she had a nasty taste in her mouth at Apollo's underhanded tactics. However that made for a much more enjoyable watch so she'd let him off the hook.
For now at least. She couldn't wait to see what Astraea would do to him. She knew Astraea took the safety of her familia seriously. Especially after what happened to them last time.
"Oh, I can't wait to see how it all unfolds. What fun is to be had." Freya thought to herself.
She swirled her wine before taking a sip. Letting out a content sigh as she placed the glass back on her side table.
"Though I do wonder if he would've killed that man had he not surrendered."

Hephaestus and Tsubaki watched the war game in the goddess's office. Their focus was primarily on Welf the entire time.
They watched as his inventions fired away and tore through the Apollo familia. They watched as the wall he carved hundreds of runes into collapsed on the sixty people stuck within the gate.
Then they watched as Welf took on all of Apollo's remaining level twos by himself and won. All of it was very exciting for the two women.
Because it showed them just how much he had grown within a short amount of time. From some unruly blacksmith who didn't allow others to grow close to him. The man who rejected his blood and the gift that it provided.
Of course, he still wasn't making magic swords. But he was using his blood to create the runes that had won the Astraea familia the day.
"Welfy sure has come a long way," Tsubaki said. She was sitting on Hephaestus's desk kicking her legs back and forth.
Hephaestus placed her hands on her chin and smiled. "Yeah, he has." Her cheeks then turned and her smile grew brighter. "He was so cool and manly taking down those level twos."
She let out a delighted giggle and replayed the scene over and over in her head. Tsubaki meanwhile raised an eyebrow before shaking her head.
"She has it bad. But you did do a good job Welf." Tsubaki thought.

Airmid sighed and shook her head in annoyance as she and the others began to heal the injured Apollo members.
She and the Dian Cecht familia had been waiting nearby during the war game to provide healing to those who needed it.
They were under a very heavy guard because of how valuable Airmid was. She was the best healer in Orario earning her the moniker of the Dea Saint.
It would be a huge blow to the city if she was kidnapped.
"Nearly 200 people injured. You're going to be the death of me Bell." Airmid muttered to herself.
All around her were broken bodies of people hit by shrapnel, or had the entire wall fall on them. Or had their hand cut off. Or stepped in a spike trap.
Airmid let out an annoyed sigh and began chanting preparing her healing magic. She couldn't protest to Bell, mostly because he and his familia had already left after marking where the rest of the spike traps were.
They didn't want any accidents after the war game was over after all.

The Loki familia executives and a few others watched the war game from the comfort of Loki's office.
Loki had gone to each individual member of the Astraea familia and rewatched their fights giving her captain ample data on how they fought.
Finn watched as each member fought breaking down their strengths and weaknesses to figure out the best way to fight them.
With Karen, it would be to simply overwhelm her with numbers. Same with Emma. Lili on the other hand would need to be led into a false sense of security to lower her guard. While Welf would need to be taken out quickly before he could plant his feet down.
But the one problem Finn was having was Bell. The only thing that seemed to hold him back was his level. And his only weakness seemed to be range which could easily be solved if he drew his Saber.
Finn would need more information to figure out how to beat Bell if the need arose. More information he knew how to get.
Loki then closed her divine mirror and Lefiya looked happy that the Astraea familia won. She really liked looking at Karen's performance.
The others there thought the Astraea familia did quite well. All were surprised by the catapult and spike traps. They were even more surprised by the wall collapsing.
"Well, you saw what you wanted to see. What's your opinion now?" Loki asked. She turned to Finn who held his chin in his hand.
"I believe the Astraea familia will be useful in the raid. If not all of them then just the captain." Finn said. He took his hand away from his chin and sat straighter.
"Now I believe it's time I see about getting a bride." Finn thought to himself.
Lefiya watched the conversation between Loki and Finn and was slightly off-put. The only reason they watched was to vet them for the raid.
Something she knew would be incredibly dangerous. Something she knew was likely to get people killed. And Loki and Finn wanted to bring people who she saw as unprepared to it.
This was something that didn't sit right with her. But when push came to shove there was nothing she could do. Except hope they would say no.

Bell and the others arrived back in Orario a few days later. Not much was said between the group but their hearts were filled with excitement and pride.
They entered through Orario's northern gate. The people in the street stopped and exclaimed at the Astraea familia's return.
They all had varying reactions to their new fame. Emma sunk further into her carriage to hide herself. Lili felt a little overwhelmed not used to all this attention. Karen gave a small curtesy back while Bell and Welf simply smiled and waved back.
After making their way through the crowd the group arrived at the Stardust Garden. There awaiting them was Astraea along with Artemis and Rethusa.
They pulled their carts to a halt and quickly got off them. Astraea couldn't hold back anymore and rushed to her children.
"Hey we're back woah-
Bell nearly stumbled over when Astraea ran into him. He didn't have proper footing yet and her hug took him off guard. But he didn't reject it. He just simply patted her on the back.
"I knew you would win." She mumbled into his chest.
Bell just smiled down at her. "I told you I would."
Astraea let go and gave each of her other children hugs. She shared the same amount of love with them as she did with Bell. She had no favorites after all. But Bell was the one who allowed her to have a familia again.
So their bond was closer than others.
While Astraea was giving the rest of her familia hugs Bell walked up the stairs and stopped in front of Artemis and Rethusa.
Rethusa patted him on the shoulder. "Well, you didn't do half bad. Lady Artemis even cheered for you." Rethusa teased.
Artemis's face went slightly red as Bell looked at her in confusion. "You...cheered for me?" He inquired.
Artemis was quick to clear her throat and look away. "I merely wanted to see Apollo lose. Nothing more, nothing less."
Rethusa's smile grew wider. "Oh really, that's not what I remember hearing. If I remember correctly you shouted kick his ass Bell quite loudly."
Bell was quick to turn his head toward the blue-haired goddess who looked away even more. "I didn't think you could be that profane." He joked.
"Never happened," Artemis replied.
"Yes, it did."
"Nope."
Bell just watched with an amused smile on his face. He shook his head and chuckled. "Well cheering for me or not thanks for keeping Astraea company. I know Ryu had to work so she probably felt lonely."
Bell looked over to Astraea while Rethusa clapped his shoulder. "No problem, you've got a nice house and I was happy to use it."
Bell rolled his eyes and looked at the doting goddess and his familia. "As long as you didn't break any of my things."
Before Rethusa could reply an owl landed in front of Bell. Its feathers were gray with its left eye being the same. However, the right one was blue and looked crystalline.
Bell furrowed his brow and reached for his sword. His guard raised as he looked at the nearby rooftops but saw nor sensed no one.
"An...owl?" Artemis asked.
"Looks like it has something tied to its leg," Rethusa added.
Bell knelt down and untied the object around its leg. It was a letter that Bell immediately untied and saw it was addressed to him.
Bell Cranel
It's time we met face to face.
Meet behind the guild in 15 minutes so we can discuss the Gale. Failure to do so will result in the bounty not being lifted.
It wasn't signed but Bell knew who it was from. With a sigh, he walked down the steps on tapped on Astraea's shoulder.
The goddess was doting on Lili and praising her for doing such a good job. The prum was blushing in embarrassment and pride but accepted the praise nonetheless.
Astraea turned and Bell handed her the letter. She gave it a quick read before her eyes turned serious.
"Looks like it's time. Are you ready?" She asked.
Bell nodded. "I am, we'll catch up later and you can let me know what happened. Everyone else unpack and destress. You've earned a little R ." Bell ordered.
The familia nodded and began unpacking the carts while Bell made his way deeper into the city. Asteaea watched as he left, hope filling her heart along with worry.
Artemis approached her a curious look on her face. "What was that about?" She asked not seeing the contents of the letter.
"Bell's about to paint a target on his back. All to get rid of Ryu's bounty so she can live a normal life." Astraea softly explained.
Artemis watched as Bell turned down a corner and out of sight from everyone. Her mind was a whirlpool of thoughts about the enigma she knew as Bell Cranel.
But her opinion started to change slightly. He wasn't what she thought he was at all. Well, part of him was but that was just the surface of him.
It seemed there was someone more thoughtful under that surface, however.
.
.
.
.
Bell walked through the streets of Orario to cheers and waves. He did his best to respond back but he was really on a time crunch.
He pushed his way past the crowds and made his way to the back of the guild. Though one thing was on his mind.
Why would Ouranus meet him behind the guild? That place seemed too open for someone like him to be. Too public.
Maybe there was a secret entryway. That was a guess but Bell wouldn't know until he made it there. Which he did after another five minutes of walking.
When he arrived Bell noticed the street was empty. But that was it. Nothing was out of the ordinary nor seemed wrong.
Everything was just normal. Normal and empty.
"Yet something feels wrong." Bell thought to himself.
It was then the wall next to him opened. Bell was quick to reach for his sword but stopped feeling a hand on his shoulder.
His head as well as his fist spun around ready to hit the person holding him. Only for his fist to be caught and an annoyed Shakti staring at him.
"Really?" She asked.
"You snuck up on me." Bell pointed out. "Also what are you doing here?"
Shakti let go of him and gestured to the wall. "I'm supposed to escort you to Ouranus."
"He doesn't have anyone else to do that?" Bell asked.
Shakti shook her head. "No, that would break the rules he set for himself. He and the guild are supposed to remain neutral in any conflict. As such he cannot have a familia."
Bell found that hard to believe as the wall opened. But he decided to play along with Shakti's farce.
"Fine, then escort me to him. It's time we finished this." Bell declared. He let go of his sword handle and Shakti cleared her throat.
"I'll need your weapons before we can go in," Shakti told him.
Bell sighed but did as she asked. He took both swords off his belt and handed them to Shakti. She attached them to hers and the two made their way inside the open wall.
Bell heard it shut behind them and once it did the walls started to glow. It lit up the dark and eerie place leading Bell to further distrust Shakti's earlier statement.
They walked in silence. Neither had anything to really say to each other. Sure they had met a few times and in those few times, Shakti wanted to rip her hair out.
But other than that they weren't friends. More co-workers than anything. And what an annoying co-worker Bell was when it came to Ryu.
Shakti grimaced at the girl's name. She had been around when Ryu first started adventuring. Her sister had been the elf's best friend.
Then the dark age happened, her sister died, Ryu's familia died. And then Ryu went on a rampage against Evilus.
It hurt Shakti to see her sister's best friend turn out like that. What had once been a brightly-eyed and bushy-tailed paragon of justice turned into a mass murderer and someone filled with self-loathing.
Shakti looked behind her at Bell. The boy kept his eyes forward and face calm. If he was nervous Shakti didn't know. None of his features portrayed anything.
She had to give props to Bell for sticking up for Ryu. Especially in public when his statement was published by reporters. Maybe if he knew she wouldn't turn Ryu in their interactions could've been a lot more easier.
She thought he got that picture after the hospital. But apparently he didn't. He still lied to her face every time anyway remotely involved Ryu.
She wondered what Bell's justice was. What he saw it as. Would it be like Ryu's before she went down a dark path? Would it be like her sister Ardee's who didn't want to hurt a fly? No, it couldn't be that one.
Or could it have been like the old captain on the Astraea familia?
Shakti didn't know and she doubted she'd find an answer. She and Bell didn't really know each other. So it would be a weird thing to ask out of the blue.
However, no conversation would be broached between the two as they had finally arrived at Ouranus's throne room.
.
.
.
.
When Bell entered Ouranus's chambers he felt an odd sense of dread fill his body. He went to reach for his sword but his hand met air.
He mentally kicked himself remembering that Shakti had his weapons.
So he put his hand back by his side and walked deeper into the throne room. It was circular by nature with a golden throne sitting in the middle.
Leading up to it was a big staircase with 20-25 steps and at the top of it was the god himself. He was an old god dressed in a black cloak with long gray hair and blue eyes.
Despite being old his face had no wrinkles or signs of aging at all. He didn't look young by any means but that didn't mean he looked like a fossil either.
The torches around his throne flicked as the old god looked down at Bell. His eyes not portraying even a hint of emotion.
Bell just stared at him. Looking the old god in the eye and not backing down. Even as he felt a chill run down his spine for some reason
Was he scared?
"Bell Cranel, a pleasure to finally meet you," Ouranus spoke.
Bell swallowed and gave a small bow. "And a pleasure to meet you as well Lord Ouranus. Though I do have to say I was surprised by your letter."
"Act nice and courteous to raise your chances." Bell thought to himself.
The old god straightened out and glanced towards Shakti. "You may leave us now Ms Varma."
Shakti gave him a bow before turning and walking away. Leaving Bell and the old god alone in his throne room.
"I'm assuming you're sending her away so she doesn't hear what is said?" Bell asked watching as she disappeared behind the wall.
"Correct, because if what your letter said is true then I have many questions for you." The old god replied.
"Figures, but first let's talk terms. Get this out of the way so nothing else bogs us down." Bell said. His posture became more relaxed.
"Very well speak your terms."
Bell cleared his throat. "The bounty on the Gale Winds head is 80 million valis. I want the guild to revoke it and claim the Gale has left the city after a heavy investigation."
"And what do you want to do with the 80 million? Give it to you as a reward for a job well done?" Ournaus asked. He peered deeper into Bell's eyes trying to read the boy.
"If that's what is needed to make the story believable."
Ournaus was silent for a second before a grunt escaped his lips. "Very well, you want the Gale's bounty annulled and the money transferred to you. Anything else?"
Bell shook his head. "I don't exactly want the money transferred to me. What I actually want is for however much is needed for my taxes and then the rest of it to go to Daedalus Street."
Ournaus quirked an eyebrow intrigued by this development. "And why did you want this money transferred to the people of Daedalus Street?" He asked.
Bell simply shrugged. "The people there need it more than me."
"And the taxes?" Ouranus further inquired.
"I don't want to pay those."
Ouranus nodded. "Very well I agree to those terms. Now this information, what it is?"
Bell cleared his throat and braced himself. He took a deep breath and then spoke. "I have information on every single monster from the first floor to the 71st. I know their anatomy, their spawn rates, and rooms where more spawn than normal."
Ouranus's eyes widened slightly as he didn't sense a single lie from Bell. His brow started to sweat ever so slightly as he knew what this meant.
"How do you know this information? Who told you!" The old god's voice boomed.
Bell was slightly taken aback but remained firm. "My Grandpa did. He was an ex-member of the Zeus familia."
Ouranus took a deep breath and regained his composure. "I see, and this Grandpa of yours. What was his name?"
"His name was Jove. But I just called him Grandpa." Bell replied.
Ouranus's eyes widened in shock but quickly returned to normal. "I see, and you're willing to trade in all of that information for the Gale Winds' freedom?"
Bell shook his head and held his arms behind his back. "No, not exactly. You see there is simply so much information there. Worth much more than 80 million. But I think the first, oh I don't know let's say 17 floors should be worth that much?"
Ournaus looked at Bell a little impressed. The boy seemed to know what he was doing when it came to negotiating. He had his hand and Ournaus had his.
If he rejected Bell's offer now all that information would be gone. Bell knew this and Ournaus knew Bell knew this as well.
"Zeus taught him well." Ournaus thought to himself.
"Very well, floors 1-17 will be an adequate amount. I will repeal the Gale's bounty and I expect this information written down and sent to me within the end of the month. Should you fail on your end of the bargain I will not only reinstate the bounty but double it as well." Ournaus said.
He needed to make sure Bell kept up his end of the deal. So the threat of doubling the bounty should he fail should suffice.
"Well, then I guess I should get to work them."
"You should."
Bell gave another small bow and made his way back to the wall. He met up with Shakti and the two made their way out of the guild.
Leaving Ouranus to sit on his throne and give prayers to the dungeon.

.
.
Bell arrived home two hours after he had left. A smile was painted on his face as he had done. He had finally gotten Ryu's bounty revoked just like he had promised.
Part of him wanted to laugh out in joy. Another part of him just wanted to sit down and relax. But he didn't do either of those things.
He knew had to go find Ryu and tell her the good news. Judging by the time she should be home since it was after the lunch rush at the Hostess.
Thinking of the Hostess reminded him that he should go see his girlfriend. He would eventually but he had a few things to do first.
Walking down the hallway he made his way to Ryu's room and knocked on the door. He heard shuffling inside before the door opened.
Ryu stood there in a white t-shirt with cargo shorts that hugged her thighs. Her expression was her normal stoic one but her eyes seemed to soften when seeing Bell.
"Oh hello Bell, what can I help you with?" She asked.
Bell didn't reply right away. Instead, he just smiled at her and Ryu grew slightly flustered.
"I did it." He simply said.
Ryu furrowed her brow in confusion. "Did what? Win the war game?" She asked.
Bell merely chuckled confusing Ryu even more. "I cleared your bounty."
Ryu felt her heart skip a beat. Her sky-blue eyes widened in shock and relief. Tears of joy stung them as she became overcome with emotion.
She didn't say anything. Instead, she wrapped her arms around Bell and began to softly cry into his shoulder.
Bell freaked out for a second before softly wrapping his arms around her and patting her on the back. The two stayed like that for a while.
Ryu felt like she had this giant weight lifted off her shoulders and it was all thanks to Bell. Bell just stood still. Despite being a little tired he kept rubbing comfortable circles on Ryu's back.
After a few minutes, Ryu stopped crying but she still held onto Bell. Bell didn't protest nor say anything for that matter. He was fine with the silence.
"Thank you," Ryu mumbled into his chest.
Bell looked down at the top of her head. He could do so now that he was taller than her. "You're welcome."
Ryu sniffled and pulled back. Her face flashed red in embarrassment at what she had just done. But Bell didn't seem to care. He seemed more proud than anything.
"W-well um...I'll let you go. I think Lady Astraea will want to meet with you. She's updating everyone's falna." Ryu bumbled.
"Alright, thanks for the heads up. Enjoy your freedom, Ryu." Bell replied.
Ryu was quick to nod as Bell turned and went further down the hall. Ryu watched as he left behind thankful for what he had done.
She now had the rest of her life to choose what she wanted to do with her freedom. And she didn't know where to start.
.
.
.
.
Bell made his way to Astraea's office. His good mood still holding up as today had been a really good day. However, a small part of him wondered if that scene with Ryu would be considered cheating.
He didn't know he had never been in a relationship before. He'd have to ask Anya when he saw her again.
"Bell! Bell! Hey, look! I made level two!" Emma shouted. She was running down the hallway with a piece of paper in her hands.
When she reached Bell she held out the paper in front of him. Bell smiled and took it before reading it.

Bell handed the stat sheet back to Emma and patted her on the head. The girl smiled and giggled at the praise.
"Good job Emma, once we get you whipped up into shape you'll be a force to be reckoned with," Bell said.
Emma felt like that was a backhanded compliment but still smiled nonetheless. Bell patted her on the shoulder as he made his way past her.
The next person he ran into was Lili who seemed to have some pep in her step. A bright smile was painted on her face as well and Bell noted she was holding a piece of paper as well.
"Let me guess, level two?" Bell asked.
Lili's smile brightened and nodded. "Yup, now I can go on patrols and help people!" She declared.
Bell chuckled as he crouched down and held out his hand. Lili high-fived it without hesitation.
"I'm proud of you Lili. Keep doing what you're doing and someday everyone will know your name."
Lili's smile brightened and she nodded. "I will Master Bell. That's a promise."
Bell stood back to his full height and kept making his way down the hallway. The next one he ran into was Welf standing outside Astraea's office. He was leaning against the wall status sheet in hand.
"You level up to?" Bell joked.
Welf chuckled and shook his head. "I wish but no. I am halfway there though so you better pick up the pace before I blow past you."
Bell leaned against the wall. "Careful Welf, else I'll have to send your fiancé after you. Who knows how she'll react to her little Welfy nearly getting hurt during the war game."
Welf rolled his eyes. "You ever gonna come up with a new joke? The fiancé's stuff starting to dry up."
"Yet you still wear the ring on your finger." Bro teased.
Welf groaned and rolled his eyes once more. However, before more could be said the door to Astraea's office opened and Karen stepped out.
She had a pleased smile on her face and held a piece of paper in front of her. She looked at Bell and then Welf and smiled.
"I leveled up!" She giddily said.
Bell patted her on the back while Welf gave her a congratulations. Karen was more revered than Emma and Lili. But Welf and Bell had an idea of who Karen really wanted to tell this to.
Bell clapped his hands together. "Well, three level-ups in one day. Let's see if there will be a fourth." He joked.
He walked into Astraea's office and shut the door behind him. Astraea was sitting in a chair across from another one with a warm smile on her face.
"So, how did it go?" She asked referring to his meeting with Ouranus.
Bell smiled as he took his shirt off. "He agreed to the deal. Ryu is now a free woman."
Astraea squealed and jumped for joy in her chair. She gestured for Bell to sit down. "Oh, that's wonderful news. Now come on let's see if you leveled up to make this day better."
Bell sat down and faced his back toward Astraea. She let her blood drop on his back from her already open wound and unlocked his falna.

Astraea had a nervous smile on her face as she handed Bell his stat sheet. The new skill had put her off guard. More like the second half did.
The falna was a reflection of one's soul. So if Bell was able to get a skill like that what did that say about him?
She put that thought to the back of her mind, however. What was she thinking? This was Bell she was talking about.
Bell was kind and caring. But when he fought he didn't hold anything back. And Astraea didn't fault him for that. She still accepted him for who he was.
Who he is.
But something about that skill made Astraea feel as if it would be useful soon.
"Huh, I have a couple of new things. What's aura?" Bell asked.
Astraea shook her head. "I don't exactly know. You'd have to ask a god proficient in fighting about that as they would know more about it than me."
Bell nodded and handed the paper back to Astraea. "Well go ahead and level me up. Then we can talk about what you did to Apollo."
Astraea smiled and proceeded to level up Bell to level three. Her mind racing with ideas on how to celebrate.
There was so much to do and she had all the time in the world.
Well, that's the end of this chapter. A nice calm chapter with more calm to follow for the time being.
Bell got rid of Ryu's bounty. Most of the Astraea familia leveled up. Each has their own new skill which Lili's and Karen's will be revealed next chapter.
Uh, what else is there? Oh yeah Loki familia planning on doing something messed up but that's normal.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed and let's find out what happened to the Apollo familia next time.
