One World: Many Souls

Chapter 42: NO MORE!

Angel's Point of View:

"You have got to be kidding me…"

There was no way, absolutely no way. We done everything possible to ensure this wouldn't happen. Everything! Appointments, follow ups… how? Just how could this have happened a fourth time?

How the fuck?

I tried to control my breathing as I held my youngest on my arm. Jokerman was a year old at that point and hanging off of myself, curled into my chest for warmth as the months still weren't the warmest just yet. Why, we'd just had a mid-spring snow storm that was already nearly melted entirely from the fifty-degree days right after it.

Jokerman was a smiley child. Always was there some sort of happy look on his face when he learned how. And laughter, oh that was something he learned early on too. And in those moments, my son thought my face was priceless in those moments. It was a story that I'm sure I would tell him again one day in the future when I had already recovered from the momentary panic and fury at the time.

"Of course, you think this is funny. You would. You are your father's son…" I could only sigh, even if the anger was quite boiling at that point.

I loved all my children, that never would change. No matter what, how, when they were conceived, I would love them. I loved them.

Even a possible sixth or seventh child would not change that. No, it wouldn't…

But I was done having children!

Was it time for myself to get work done? Did I need to remove certain parts of myself to make this much more likely that another child would not come forth? Sans made sure to go to every appointment to make sure that nothing was missed. Yet, regardless of the doctor or the specialist, it always seemed like the world wanted me constantly pregnant.

I hope this wasn't some back karma in the making because I wanted a big family… Wasn't a husband, sister, possible brother-in-law, brother, sister-in-law, grandmother, five-soon to be six or more kids, and all my friends and family not count?

Holy shit…

I shook my head in my frustration before moving out of the bathroom to find where my husband was. While I had the youngest in my hands, the older ones were playing games at the TV under the supervision of their father. Arial and Eras seemed to be playing a racing game against each other, colorful cars with little cannons attached to them that they were firing at any other opponent that came close, even each other.

My eldest daughter was the loud mouth who taunted, yelled and bantered with her twin. My eldest son only smirked at his younger sister and kept his eyes on the game, beating her and keeping his first-place status. By either of their sides were the other set of twins, Calibi and Constantina. They sat on either side of their older siblings cheering them on.

"Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go!"

The two of them being in unison certainly didn't help either…

Sans chuckled at the kids lightly while they played and he was doing homework for his students during the weekend, glancing up every so often and listening out for anything he'd need to step in for. I saw he was grading term papers for individual projects of each student. Some of the kids he taught were bright minds that he loved reading their findings. That was most of the kids in his class. Very few took it as an elective and half assed their way through it. And Sans knew who those kids were, and how to piss them off in his oh so subtle way…

"Darling."

Sans lifted his head to look at me, his eye lights cast over my form to the very happy one year old in my arms while I had a much less impressed look. Sans quickly caught on that I wasn't happy and eagerly reached for his son, moving his papers aside.

"What's up little man? Ya bein' a little baby brat for ya Mommy?"

While I did pass over Jokerman to him, the look on my face didn't change before I sat down beside him. Sans and the little one laughed together before a more nervous look came to me when my facial expression didn't change. With a sigh, I handed him the pregnancy test.

He didn't even need to look at it to know what I was telling him.

"Oh fu-" he cut himself off before he could say anything terrible before the many children we had. "…Fudge…"

"That would be… accurate."

"But… I've gone ta every appointment! Hel-heck, Al and Undyne haven't had another kid yet, a ya know the two of them go at it worse than we do at times."

"I know, and that's the reason why I'm not screaming and kicking anything in. I'm just as confused. You've been to three doctors to get this resolved."

"Well… this is one o' the first times a human 'n monster were married in a heck of a long time… Maybe it's that? Or how attached our souls are?"

"I don't know… but the only thing I can tell you, Darling, is that we're going to have to figure something out. Starting with reducing our 'stress relieving activates' until this is sorted."

His tongue clicked behind his teeth in his annoyance. "Damn…"

"Mom?"

We lifted our heads to see Eras looking back at us with a critical eye. Following him from when he paused the game to look back at us, our three daughters followed the eldest's path.

"What's wrong?"

I could only sigh at my eldest, he was as keen at noticing things as his dear father. "Nothing's wrong per say. I suppose you could say something happened that your father and I weren't expecting."

That caused Eras to glance to what was in our father's hand. He rose from his seat on the floor by Constantina's side and came over to us. He looked carefully at it before looking at us both.

"That's a preg… nan…cy test, right?" He slowly sounded out the words before looking at the colorful stick that showed him a timeline on it. "A test that tells you if you're having a baby?"

With surprised looks to our eldest son, who was only eight at the time, we nodded slowly. "That's right, baby bone. Very good job."

"Wait! Wait! Wait!" Arial then bound forward next, hopping on my knees as she looked at it. "Does that mean you're having another baby?!"

An exasperated chuckle left me and Sans as we watched the eldest children. "Yes, that's right."

"Oh my God!" Arial screeched as she jumped up and down again. "I'm gonna be a big sister again! Is it gonna be a girl? A boy? Do you know yet?"

"Not yet, baby bone." Sans chuckled at her eagerness. "Gonna be a few more months before we know that. Look here, the test says yer mom's about five weeks along. Gonna be a while."

"So cool!"

"Mommy?" My younger twins of roughly five came up held onto my legs. The two of them both wore a questioning look as their heads tilted in the same direct, at the same angle. My lord was that weird at times.

"You're gonna have a baby?"

"Just like Joker?"

"Yes, another baby just like Joker." I smiled at the two girls, rubbing their hair and faces. "You were all that small when Mommy had you."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah!" Arial jumped around to her younger siblings to grin at them. "Cali and Connie were so small!"

The twins tilted their heads in the opposite direction while questioning their eldest sister. "Small? Us?"

"Yeah! So little! Joker was super tiny too!" Arial eagerly turned back to me. "You'll tell us if it's gonna be a boy or a girl, right?"

"Of course, I can." I smiled at my eldest little girl while she beamed at me. "You know what I could do, is make a special cake for us to share and whatever color is in the middle of it is what gender the baby is. Does that sound fun?"

Arial brightened even more at that comment. "Yeah!"

"Cake!" The younger twins cried out for. "Yummy!"

"I can help make it, Mom." Eras stood happy but calm by his father and only brother. "I can keep a secret, I promise."

"I know you can baby bone. And I would love the help." I reached to him next to let my fingers trail over him to let him know he was loved and I was paying attention. "So, tell me, what do you all think the baby is going to be? A boy or a girl? Or, do you think Mommy is going to have twins again?"

"Twins!?" Arial gushed over that. "That would be so cool! It'd be even cooler if they were just like me and Eras! A boy and a girl!"

"What about ya girls?" Sans leaned over to look at his twin daughters. "Do ya want a baby brother, sister or twins?"

"Twins!" Following on the hype of their older sister, both identical twins giggled while I struggled to hide my scowl.

For the love that is all holy in the world, DON'T let them be twins…

"What about ya, Eras?"

"Hm?" Eras blinked a bit, but honestly shrugged at his father's question. "As long as their healthy, that's all that matters, right? I already have a lot of sisters and a brother."

"Hey, that's fair, Kiddo." Ruffling his son's hair, he then put on a very serious face which his daughters matched while Jokerman just laughed at and Eras raised an eye brow. "Okay, so serious question. What color do we paint their room? Arial has an orange room, Eras has a green room, Connie and Cali have a pink room and Joker has a blue room. What do you guys think?"

"Darling, isn't it a bit early to think about that?" With a raised eye brow, I questioned my husband. "We don't even know the baby's gender yet."

"Ooo! Ooo! I know! I know!" Arial grinned before she leaned in close to almost whisper excitedly like someone besides us in the home would hear it. "Purple! Boys and girls both like purple, so it doesn't matter if they're a boy or girl!"

I supposed that was a matter of opinion in all honestly, but the other kids seemed to eat that up and begin nodding their heads eagerly, all besides Eras who simply shrugged. He was happy, but the decision didn't bother him either way. He was certainly turning out to be a more serious version of his father as the days passed by.

"Nice, Kiddo!" With her father's praise, Sans looked eagerly to the kids. "How 'bout this? Let's go see about gettin' that last room on the hall cleaned out and we can start painting it? We also gotta get the paint and move some of the baby stuff we have from Joker's room to that room once he's a bit bigger. Okay?"

"I wanna help!"

"Help! Help!"

"I can help too. I can paint the ceiling if you wanna hold me up there, Dad."

"Ya got it Kiddo." With that, Sans lifted himself up from the couch and gave a nuzzle to my head. "I'll call Al and see if she's got any other insight on this ta see what we can do, 'kay?"

"I'd appreciate it." I gave him a bit of a sharper glance and tugged him close for a kiss and some dangerous words. "You better pray every moment that it's not twins or I'm coming after your boney hide."

Witch's Note:

Oh boy, oh boy... was that a chapter in itself. Looks like kid number six/ six and seven may be on the way! Uh oh... I'm starting to get kinda nervous for Sans. How about the rest of you? Do you feel the same way? Because I would if I was in his slippers... I think Angel is literally putting every foot down there is after this...

But on a more positive note, we're down to our last twenty-nine chapters! Damn does the time fly! How are we all feeling about this? I can't believe we've made our way along so much. I'm curious to see how you all are feeling as we get closer and closer to another ending of another story. This will be the third one together for a lot of us here. We only have a total of seventy-one chapters so this is going by very fast.

Granted it always feels like that when we're posting and chatting together. It always feels like such a good time with all of you.

But let's move onto some more fun stuff! How about some reviews? Let's go!

Shadow8Phantom: I'm sorry for the lack of communication between the kids often Shadow. With the story moving at such a fast pace, it's hard to keep giving the special moments and get through the important parts without making the story super long.

But we got to see them interacting with people and helping out at the restaurant with their family! But then super questions that poor Lilly had to answer... how horrible. Of course it always has to happen when the parents are away. At least in Eras' case. Granted, I was surprised with what you had to say about the guess for why Angel would be killing Sans. And about the questions that Impact could have asked instead of what he did. That was a funny read!

And I'm not sure I'm understanding what you mean with Mystic Boy... but, we'll remain vigilant. We kinda have to, especially with Mystic Girl going crazy trying to find all of her escapees.

Thechaosmaster: Oh man, Chaos! I love how you picked up on that cue so easily! I should have known that you would have understood what was going on when I said that particular word to describe Sans in the next chapter. Nice going!

But you're right about Frisk perhaps being a bit more careful with what she says before the kids. They're still young and she's not a mom yet herself, so it's fair that mistake came up. At least Lilly was able to handle it well, then she can explain to Angel what happened and Angel can decide how to take care of that situation a bit more carefully. And perhaps kill her sister. Who knows?

So wait, you don't drink coffee either?! Oh my goodness! In its own way, its kinda nice to know someone else doesn't drink! Granted, my reasons are different. I like the smell, but I can't stand the taste. I've always hated it since I was a kid, and now at twenty-nine years of age, I still can't stand it. Or caramel. My poor boyfriend wanted me to try it to see how I would react so he would understand for the future and asked me just to try some tea he got with caramel flavoring that helps with his sleeping. I didn't care for the smell, but I agreed to try it. It tasted so bad that I couldn't even swallow it! And I'm sure lots of other people would have loved it, but... I just couldn't...

Hm... and you think there's something going on with Mystic Boy too? I honestly don't have any proof, but... like I said to Shadow, we'll do our best to stay vigilant.

Not A Shady Guy: It's okay you assumed her to be a singer, that's fair if I didn't explain it well. Frisk was always a musical prodigy, but her passion was for music. The instruments were where she was strong in, vocals she really couldn't do, that was Angel, in her opinion.

So she went on to do what she thought fit her strengths, along with helping her sister as best she could. And if she manages to become queen one day, she really will be able to help her.

But as for Lilly relaying that information to Angel... that's a good question. Even I don't know how that's going to go...

And there we go! Another chapter done and we're moving onto another one with lots of messiness involved! Who's ready for some more going on in Frisk's neck of the woods! Because I'm about to be wonderfully horrible to her for the next two chapters!

Mystic Girl: (My best friend who had snuck up for a break after all the repairs and upgrades she'd completed for the day were done as she sat with me. She sips at some cocoa while she narrows her eyes at me.) I sometimes wonder if you're a saint or a demon with what you put our characters through.

Me: (I roll my eyes at her.) You and I both know that there are worse things in store for her down the line and what's coming up is wonderful, while a little frightful for a bit until the newness of it settles down. Frisk will be so happy in the end. Once it's all past and you know it.

Mystic Girl: (She gives me a deadpan look before returning to her cocoa. After all, she needed it for the next big overhaul she had for the basement.)

Me: Anyway! Love you all and we'll see you next week! If any of you wanna guess what's gonna happen, I'd love to see, but I have a feeling that what we're about to do is not on any of your radars due to how fast the story is and is not moving.

Love you all and see you next week!
