I don't own Naruto or Harry Potter.
Hogwarts
Naruto smiled as he sat with his cousin and their friends. Unlike the village where he felt ostracized half the time, here the wizards welcome him with open arms. Well most did, he reflected with amusement. The king of revenge pranks is back in full force. With a little aid from Peeves (and his clones of course) the teenager had, if they could catch him, ranked up a hell of a lot of detentions.
Most of the students in Hogwarts knew it was him. They could just never prove it. The latest one was a classic involving the dining room and switching out some of the food for something like it but different. Having done this before, Ron's older brothers Fred and George helped him by getting the stuff he needed. The trio along with Peeves had mixed the items together and switched them out when no one was looking.
The only person he told not to eat any of it was his cousin. He would never prank Harry, well he tried once before and the payback the wizard boy had come up with was something he will never forget. Shuddering at that memory as he had cried for a week, he had to explain what he had done to the older boy in private. Luckily Harry not only approved of it but agreed to keep his mouth shut as long as he provided the counter for it right after.
Groaning as it was no fun that way, the wizard boy had reminded him, he didn't say when he had to do it as long as it was within 5 minutes of the event.
Grinning, the two watched as what would be hot pepper night commenced. All but 2 reacted the way they expected. Of course the Patil sisters liked it as being of Indian descent, the twin girls were used to it. Despite being one of the ones pranked upon Ron, had laughed when the Slytherin table was busy frantically trying to drown out the heat of the peppers. Draco and his cronies were literally bright red akin to the color of the Lions. When the milk and ice cream came out, it was Hermione who hollered to drink the milk as it would cool down the spice. Most listened except for the Slytherin table of course.
Not wanting to do anything a 'mudblood' told them they ended up suffering longer than necessary. Draco being the leader of course, but it mattered not as only a minute later it was Blaise Zabini who said screw it as he couldn't take it anymore. Taking the milk, the youth had drunk it and found that the Granger girl was right.
So while Malfoy and some of his crew still refused. A good percentage of the Slytherins grabbed theirs and drank steadily and to their relief. The heat was reduced greatly and better food emerged in front of them as the elves had found the real dinner with the aid of the Bloody Baron..
Walking now and on his way to aid Kakashi who was preparing a new class that was going to be mandatory for all wizards. Afterwards would be the first Seals of course so some could stay while others would be free to go.
So bouncing along, he, Harry, and Sakura were walking out to the Quidditch pitch. Harry with his staff and as they approached they saw many of the students watching them with curiosity.
"Sakura, you and Harry practice with each other, Naruto if you please before you join them."
"Yea yea Kakashi-Sensei."
Now all eyes on him, Naruto's hands make the signs he knows by heart and summons close to 20 clones. Each one vanishes to various points in the field by barrels that had been placed there earlier. Juggling what appears to be paintballs, they watch as the main blonde goes back to the other two.

"For your attention my cute little students, in this class no magic is involved until I deem you are ready. Another rule will be if you get hurt unless Sakura deems it an emergency we will keep going." The silvery haired man responded as on cue one of the clones threw a paintball at him. Dodging and firing back in mid roll, the clone ducks in the nick of time.
"Staying in one place to fire your magic is indeed easy to do. But it also makes you a target for others." Dodging once again this time as another clone comes up from behind him, he flips it over his shoulder just long enough for him to get a third paintball to make it poof in smoke. "In battle regardless of war or just defending yourself you may fight with honor. But who is to say your opponent will?"
The students, being a mixture of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, listened to what he had said. Their eyes in deep thought, it is Cho who speaks up. The asian girl, still attending despite everything the last few years had brought. "Why are you doing this? Fighting is wrong." Shaking his head, the man gave her a small smile behind the mask. "You are correct it is wrong but you must consider where we are from. Wizard and Shinobi alike, we fight not amongst ourselves if we can help it. But those that do? We fight simply to live against those who would not allow it."
His words make a lot of them pause in deep thought. Most not wanting to get involved considering the events going on, they agree to what he says. They have the right to just live, regardless of muggleborn, half or even pure blood. What if the battle came to their doorstep? Is their life and those they love worth fighting for?
Yes.
Watching now as he makes some seals with his hands a circle is flashed. Close to 50 dogs of all shapes and sizes emerged. "Oy is it time for us Kakashi." Every single student is startled as a bull dog comes forth along many others of various shapes and sizes. Talking animatedly to their teacher as a talking dog was a first for them, they were sniffed by the others who spoke amongst themselves. All of them nodding at an unspoken message, they just sat there and waited with what appears to be anticipation.
"Everyone meet Pakkun, he and his friends will be aiding in your lesson today along with the clones." He grins. "You will be running with him and the pack on your heels at the same time dodging the paintballs being thrown."
"WHAT!"
"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND!"
"YOU ARE CRAZY!"
Grinning, Kakashi just looks at them with delight. "Battle is never simple, nor is it ever fair, straightforward or above all sane." He replied as he walked away. "It is what it is. 5… 4…."
The dogs merrily start the chase as Pakkun barks orders left and right, Harry and Naruto can't help but snicker a little bit. The former have had to endure that for quite some time, as they and Sakura watch in amusement. But anyhow Kakashi gestures to both the cousins as he gestures towards the pink haired girl to supervise the structured chaos.
"Alright Naruto, here hold this."
Harry watches as both he and the blonde are puzzled, when the latter is handed a piece of paper. Said individual looked at the older man in confusion, as he spoke up. "What the heck am I supposed to do with this?"
"This is the elemental paper Naruto. Certain kinds of jutsus come off stronger if you have an affinity. It's about time we found out don't you think?" The older man replied. "All you do is put some chakra into it. If it splits in half, its wind. Crumples, its earth. Soggy means water, and turning to ash means fire."
Watching expectantly, the blonde teen does just that and a minute later the paper splits evenly. The silvery haired man chuckles in amusement as he nods his head. "I thought it might be fire because of you know who at first, but you never showed any aptitude before so it made me wonder."
"Oh?"
"You got the same as your father did Naruto he was wind to. But it does provide a situation. Not many wind users I know of save for those from Suna." Kakashi replied. "Although I do know some wind. I'm afraid I might be lacking in this eye or not. But there is one person I know who might be willing to help. Maybe he can provide some insight. In the meantime I need you to summon one of the toads. It's time we took your cousin to the next step, don't you think?"

Next step? Dreading what was to come, Harry had to admit to himself that he was kind of eager to prove himself. He had worked hard with TenTen as well as others in Konoha and he was doing pretty well. The scrolls Buns had given him helped him to refine some of his moves. (Ironically it also helped that the Patil twins had some experience in their own culture's style. Lately they have been helping. Kakashi was already talking to their teacher about some lessons for others later.)
But a chance to spar with the toads should be different. Having only actually met Gamakichi once, the orange toad had made quite an impression on him. He was a sarcastic and spoiled brat beyond belief. It was in a good way though, one Harry had to admit he liked. Observing as Naruto goes through the motions, this time a larger toad emerges. Bright yellow and wearing a blue gi, he had a staff on his back and looked at the blonde with interest.
"What's up Blondie?"
"Heya Gamato, where's 'Kichi?" his cousin asked, the toad looking insulted to say the least at the lack of an answer. Harry had to hide a chuckle from getting out as the two got into a mini fight over attention and conversational skills lacking they do eventually get around to why he was summoned.
The toad looking towards him, he hops around the wizarding teen with open curiousity. Studying him, the toad looks critically and nods his head. Taking the staff off his back, Harry barely manages to block the strength behind the yellow toad's hit. His arms still standing fast at the constant pressure, he breathes a small sigh of relief as it eases off. Only to have not even a second later nail him from behind his knees. Glaring at the toad, Gamato speaks up with interest.
"Got a lot to learn, kid." The toad smirked. "They taught you the how. Now it's time to teach you some speed."
That said Harry is in the fight for his 'life', as he starts training with the toad. Everyone else is busy, in their own sections, it was up to him to see how he goes about this lesson. The toad smacking him on parts of his body, he winced as the summons got him on the knee. Wanting to say I give, I give, he still remembers that for him to be able to stay in Konoha.
He had to grin and bear it for life there was not easy according to many. He had yet to experience outside the village limits. But he understood why he needed to be strong. He had seen more than just the tapes shown of his new found friends' skills and what they could do. Thanks to his Naruto he actually met one for the ones who had done so just a few years ago, who only Naruto could fight.
A quiet guy, to say the least Gaara was a red headed young man who had already become the leader of his village called Suna. A hint of a smile as Naruto looked annoyed as the blonde had intended to do it first. He watched as even though Gaara never once cracked a smile, or showed any hint of emotion whatsoever. He could sense that he was amused and even lit out of snort when the red head slammed his cousin with a remark about being too slow.
Of course Naruto had bellowed and pouted which caused lots of laughter to bubble up among him and Gaara's siblings Temari and Kankuro. Not able to visit as much as they did lived in Wind country and not Fire. They were happy of course to meet him and he quickly found himself even more appreciated with a simple spell.
Having caught a missing nin on Konoha's near the border, Kankuro and them had of course got into the fight and got the guy. But a puppet had been broken beyond repair. Being the nice guy that he is, Harry had offered to repair it with a simple spell. Watching him do so, not only had the older boy appreciated it, so did Gaara. (who was tired of hearing him complain about it)
Learning though in a private discussion between the three of them that the red headed boy was the holder of the one tailed Biju. It led them opening up what had happened that day and how Harry now had the other half of the Kyuubi. With that and the news of Akatski hunting down the beasts it was a good thing that they did not know of the split in the Biju's power.
Although each half had more than enough chakra to level all of Konoha and then some. It now provided an extra target. Hence why it was a well kept secret that the wizard teen could be called…a backup in case something happened to Naruto.
The blonde was vehemently opposed to this as he knew Harry was nowhere near ready to deal with some of the heavy hitters in his part of the world. He didn't want his cousin to have to deal with them. But Harry had pointed out something. He was already deep here, and even though the wizards had nothing on them, they were pretty powerful in their own right.
So he would keep training and learning from both his teachers here and from the shinobi. Maybe he will be the first wizarding Hokage, before Naruto was one. Of course this sported a little wrestling match between the two cousins as they fought over who became Hokage first. Harry only kidded that he wanted to; he still had fun driving his younger relatives nuts.
Fighting with Gamato is what about an hour later and totally exhausted that Harry and many others were allowed to stop. The toad became an object to be observed as it talked and had Harry promise to work on stuff. The being disappeared with a puff of smoke. Sakura getting the ones who needed help first it was on to the sealing class. Already he can see Hermione making her way down to where Kakashi was. The grounds repairing itself, he knew from experience that the jounin was not an indoors kind of person. He does have rooms in the castle to teach in but the outside allowed for much more freedom.
He had to make a mental note to show him and the others the room of requirement. Might come in handy for one of the lessons. He never did think about it till just now.
Others coming now even more, the teen just takes a seat alongside Sakura and Naruto, already knowing about seals. He had been practicing on his own in making them already. Before he had left Jiraiya had assigned some tasks to both boys. Naruto was mostly a control and elemental jutsus.
For Harry control as well, but also seal arts. Having more focus than the blonde Harry was admittedly interested in it. And finding out that his mother's clan was known for it. The Sage had brightened at the prospect of Harry also becoming an apprentice in Seals. For the first time, Harry actually could look towards a future with promise.
Settling in now he halfway listens as the lesson begins.
Elsewhere
Having received a letter from his son, Lucius was deep in thought. Not really believing in the power of these Eastern practitioners of which only three were there. He knew it would not be long before Voldemort would attempt to do something.
Already because of an imposed infraction he had done, Draco was being forced to do something that would get him killed. He did not want that. Lucius loved power but he loved his family more. But what if what his son said was true. He said they could walk on walls, the pink haired one can send someone hundreds of feet into the air. The blonde could make copies of himself and so forth.
Among the goblins when he goes to the banks, they admire these shinobi as they join them in the arena. Giving the little creatures due props, many of the goblins were thinking about moving the headquarters there because the respect they were getting was phenomenal. They felt appreciated as not just bankers, but also as fighters.
"Lucius…"
Turning to find his wife behind him. Worry in her eyes over Draco, she looked to him for answers. They know they can not turn to Bellatrix as the woman was so entrenched in Voldemort's psyche that she would happily kill her own family. Snape was already in a promise to do the job Draco was assigned should his son fail. But even then odds still were not stacked in their favor.
"Narcissa, it is time…"
"Time?"
"Time, I talk to the new Lord Black." the Malfoy lord replied quietly. He may never join Dumbledore. But considering the Potter youth was Sirius's heir, he was his last resort. He may not be able to save himself in the boy's opinion. But his wife and son should all this go south?
He was willing to try…
