Day 2 of the first weekend at Grimwood's and Lincoln was sitting on the couch with the girls watching TV together; "Watching TV with the girls at my new school and funny enough; they don't mind watching the shows that I like and are enjoying it with me. Except for the Dream Boat which I changed to a few minues ago..." Lincoln said to his viewers and saw that the girls looked uninterested but it was clear that they were trying to be polite in not saying anything.
"Okay; no use you forcing yourselves to watch for my sake; let's see what else is on..." Lincoln suggested as Elsa got the remote and then looked at the TV guide. "Look; there is something for us all... Vampires of Melancholia! My sister Lucy's favourite show and it looks to be a marathon!" Lincoln said beaming as he liked watching the show even if he was nowhere near as into it as Lucy is; the perfect thing for his ghoul classmates to watch with him!
"Fangtastic; as long as it's more recent episodes that they are airing and not reruns." SIbella said with Lincoln's face dropping in confusion.
"She means the episode from when Tristan joined and afterwards." Phantasma clarified as Lincoln's eyes widened as he was taking this in.
"You... Want to watch if Tristan is in it?" Lincoln ended up asking as he knew that Lucy and her goth friends hated Tristan and what he did with the show.
"Off course; got so excited when I heard he would be coming to this show and couldn't believe it when I heard goths were trying to get him kicked off the show. The show now actually feels like the old one." Sibella replied as Lincoln's face showed his full confusion.
"I don't think he knows Sibella." laughed Winnie and then Tanis got up to get something from the DVD cabinet and handed it Lincoln.
"What?" Lincoln asked open mouthed as he saw it was a DVD boxset titled 'VAMPIRES OF MELANCHOLIA - THE COMPLETE SERIES'; there was a drawing of a shadow castle and a man dressed in a vampire with the makeup and suit looking older than in the show Lincoln was used to and a late teen guy with slicked back blonde hair in an 80s comedy styled jock sports jacket. The vampire had his arms folded with a frown while the guy had his arm around his shoulder smiling obliviously; they were clearly meant to be Edwin and Tristan.
"The show you know Lincoln is a reboot of a sitcom from the 80s and Tristan was the co-star with Edwin. The creator of the show even said that the idea was thinking about if Dracula my father had to deal with an annoying human relative moving in with him. Fans of the old show didn't like it one bit when they found out that they got rid of Tristan to make it some stupid gothic romance drama." Sibella continued as Lincoln was shaking his head.
"...I wonder how Lucy is going to take this..." Lincoln pondered and decided that he wanted to check it out and his face showed what he was facing so the girls nodded before he could ask.
The show ended up being quite funny for him and perhaps Lucy will get a kick out of it if he tells her about it.
Back in Royal Woods; Lincoln's friend group were huddled together feeling tired from the weekend that they had trying any random stuff that they coudl think off. To try and get a feel off how life will be like without Lincoln staying in the city. Things didn't exactly turn out well.
"Man... I never saw the chickens so angry..." muttered Liam with a shrudder from the idea that they had.
"Feels like we could be struggling without the Man with a Plan leading us; I think middle school could actually kill us on the first day tomorrow..." Rusty spoke feeling scared.
"I might as well start picking out what my first tattoo will be and start littering..." Clyde spoke feeling scared for his future.
"Could be worse; we could end up having Chandler leading us..." Zach suggested and they all shared a collective shudder on what horrible reality that would be.
"I bet if we had Lincoln; he would be encouraging us that everything will be just fine at middle school..." Stella muttered underestimating how much she was missing Lincoln already; platonically off course as she kept reminding herself that he was just a friend...
Later Lincoln was in his room getting ready for the end of the day as he had gotten a text from Leni:
Like we are back home and we will be missing you totes Linky. You will message and call us regularly right? XOXOXOXOX
Lincoln smiled as he texted back:
Off course; I wouldn't trade you all for the world.
Lincoln then waited for the reply there:
Awww Linky :)! I think Lucy is already missing you too much as she started acting weird after getting a link on her phone. Don't know what it was but Lynn says that she has been talking to her Edwin statue asking if he knew about something and had been keeping it from her.
Lincoln gulped nervously as he thought that it would be best to remain quiet about how he sent that link:
Give her time and I am sure that she will be normal.
He then got ready for his first official day at ghoul school in the morning...
The Vampires of Melancholia reboot idea was one that I came up with. Why not since in real life we have had sitcoms like the Addams Family and the Munsters.
