Chapter Twenty Two
(Fall of 2019)
Kara's POV
The weeks leading to the wedding were hectic. Decorating would be a breeze once we had everything. Two Kryptonians could set up the entire wedding and reception areas in twenty minutes or less. Needing something to do, we put Eliza in charge of a "Here in Spirit" board. We collected photos of Jeremiah, Lillian, Lionel, Elizabeth, and Astra for Mom to put on a large decorative board that would be placed in an empty front row seat. Brainy did his best to make the photos taken from camera footage as clear as possible.
Mother and Father opted to stay on Argo since they were at our first wedding. They wanted this one to be for Eliza, J'onn and our friends. Linda and Mikhail, however, were so excited they couldn't focus on school or their duties. Thankfully, Linda could help Mikhail acclimate to the yellow sun with ease. The four of us would go flying at night if it was overcast. While the three of us were relatively quiet, we had to keep reminding Mikhail to keep his laughter to a lower decibel.
Since Lena had clothing connections, we decided to dress in our complimentary colors, blue for me, green for Lena. As a nod to our Kryptonian ceremony and Lena's favorite flower, our bouquets were plumerias, mine teal, hers white. By now, Lena had good control and understanding of her powers so the flowers wouldn't wilt as quickly.
Forgoing a traditional bachelorette party, we invited everyone to a large, six bedroom, four bathroom cabin that was near the wedding location. The cabin doubled as the place we would get ready tomorrow morning. Since there were so many people, some would have to double, or triple, up in the rooms. Begrudgingly, Lena and I would sleep apart.
Sitting around the large fire pit, we shared stories and memories of the past. Of course, Eliza and Alex told all sorts of embarrassing stories from when I arrived on Earth. Linda, Nia, Sam, Ruby, and Brainy loved it. Florence and Margaret shared stories of Lena and Elizabeth. Those were my favorite.
"Pass me the poker before you eat all the marshmallows," Nia laughed. "You have to share with the kids!"
"I am a kid!" I smirked.
"At heart," Lena corrected, plucking the poker from my grasp and handing it to Nia. "I'm not marrying a kid, especially twice."
"I made sure to bring plenty of food," Eliza smiled. "Fourteen people, four being Kryptonians, under one roof? I got enough food to feed an army since we were all staying the weekend."
"Thank you again for inviting us," Margaret beamed. "Your mother would be proud."
Florence agreed, nodding her head, "Yes, thank you."
"Of course," Lena smiled. "You were part of Elizabeth's found family and an extension of mine. I couldn't have Elizabeth here in person but I could have you both. You're like aunts to me now."
"Child, you are going to make an old woman cry," Florence cleared her throat.
"We're both going to cry tomorrow," Margaret laughed, running a knuckle under her eyes.
"I think a lot of us will be crying tomorrow," Eliza added. "I made sure to bring plenty of tissues."
"Oh, gosh," I hid my face. Leaning into the brunette, I let my head rest on her shoulder. "I can't wait to see your dress," I whispered.
"Same," Lena kissed the top of my head.
"Aaaawwww! The love birds!" Alex, Sam, and Nia cooed.
"I could fry you all. Be nice," I smirked.
"As if," Alex rolled her eyes. "I'd be more worried about Lena," my sister grinned. "I never wanted to get on your bad side before. Now, with Kryptonian and witchy powers, not a chance."
"Well, it's going to be an early morning for a lot of us," J'onn stood. "I'm going to turn in for the night. I'll see all of you bright and early tomorrow."
One by one, most of the group followed J'onn's lead until it was only Lena and I by the fire. Taking the woman's hand in mine, I smiled, "I know we're technically married already but I'm excited for tomorrow."
"Ready to become Mrs. Luthor?" Lena raised a brow.
"Definitely," I kissed the woman's cheek. Humming her approval, the younger woman gazed into the flames. Her eyes are almost as gold as they are when she does magic. "I wonder how early Miss Grant will get here?"
"Probably not long after we get up." Standing, Lena held her hand out to me. Taking it, she pulled me to my feet and placed her other hand on my hip. "One final dance as Miss Danvers?"
"Sure," I smiled. "It'll be your last dance as Miss Luthor."
"Indeed it will be."

The next morning, Alex and Eliza helped me get ready while Sam and Ruby helped Lena. "You look beautiful," Eliza fretted with a stray curl.
"Thanks," I looked myself over in the tall mirror, my eyes catching the House of El crest. I've come so far since I landed on this planet. I've had my heart broken and I've found love. My life looks very different from what I originally thought all those years ago but I wouldn't change any of it.
"You alright?" Alex asked, looking up from my bouquet.
"Yeah," I brushed my fingers over the crest. "A lot has happened since Kal pulled me from my ship."
Speaking of my cousin seemed to make him appear. "Kara," he knocked lightly on the bedroom door. "May we come in?"
"Sure," I turned as Kal and Lois entered.
"You look amazing, Kara," Lois beamed.
"My cousin is getting married," Kal smiled. "No program, on Earth or Krypton, could have picked a better partner for you."
"Aww," I sniffled. "I'm so glad you could make it."
"We are too. It was a close call," he grinned. "Super speed is a life saver."
"So true," I laughed. Hearing soft music pulled us from our conversation. "Time to become Mrs. Kara Luthor."
Taking my bouquet, I walked into the hallway. Lena and I set up our dressing areas so we would see each other at the same time. My breath hitched seeing the shorter woman in her green dress. Her House of El crest hung on a longer chain that set deeper in the V of fabric so Morgana's necklace wouldn't get tangled with it. Her heart is pounding too. "You look…wow."
"You as well," she smiled. "Absolutely gorgeous."
"We're going to go," Alex pushed Kal and Eliza down the hallway. "Give you two a minute alone."
Once we were alone, I took Lena's hand in mine. "I missed waking up with you this morning."
Entwining our fingers, Lena brought my knuckles to her lips. "I did too. Luckily it was only one night." Bright green eyes flicked towards a nearby window. "Everyone is seated and in place." Holding out her arm, Lena smiled. "Let's make it Earth official too."
"Gladly." Slipping my arm through Lena's, we walked out of the house and towards the ceremony.
We walked arm in arm down the aisle as our friends and family stood. J'onn waited at the front looking every bit like a proud father. At the front, Lena and I faced each other as everyone took their seats. "We are gathered here today to celebrate the second marriage between Kara and Lena. I have had the pleasure to see these two women grow as friends and fall in love. I am-," J'onn was interrupted by a loud engine and ship appearing nearby. I recognize that ship! They actually came!
The door opened and Winn grinned like a fool, "We didn't miss it, right?" He was followed by Mon-El and some other Legion members who helped with Reign.
"You better not be here trying to steal my girl again, Mon-El!" Lena yelled with a laugh.
"Lena, I wouldn't stand a chance against you," he laughed. "I never did. Sorry we're late." J'onn waited until they were seated to continue.

Lena's POV
As Kara finished her vows, she slipped my ring onto my finger. Pulling her ring out of its box, I took Kara's hand and did the same. Murmuring a few words, a ribbon of gold energy coursed from my heart, down my arm, and into Kara's ring. From there, it wrapped around us before evaporating. "Now, no matter where you go, you will always have a part of me. I love you, Kara Danvers. I have for many years and didn't realize it. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be standing here today in front of our friends and family. We've been through a lot together and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life by your side." Reaching up, I wiped a tear from Kara's face. "Don't cry yet. Everyone still wants pictures."
"I am so glad I gave my vows first," Kara sniffled. "There is no way I could follow this." Out of habit, I leaned forward only to have J'onn clear his throat.
"Can you not wait two more minutes?" he joked.
"Sorry," I murmured, my shoulders shook with silent laughter.
"If anyone has reason that these two should not be wed, speak now or forever-," Mon-El cleared his throat dramatically.
"Are you insane?" Winn ducked away. "I'm not a part of this!"
Both men paled as I met their gaze. "Joking! Joking!" Mon-El held his hands up in surrender. "Bad joke. Sorry," he murmured.
"Mon-El," J'onn looked between us towards the Daxamite. "She has Kryptonian and witch powers. Do you really want to make her mad? She was threatening enough as a human when you even looked at Kara." A few people agreed. "She may have smiled to your face but the inside voice in her head was not as polite. Don't push it." An uneasy laugh filtered through the crowd. Clearing his throat, J'onn continued. "I don't know what was worse. Having to keep Kara from beating someone up or hearing Lena's inside thoughts." Laughter washed over our friends. Especially from the ones who lived through the early days of our friendship. "With that, I pronounce you wife and wife. You may now kiss the bride."
Pulling Kara in, I wrapped my arms around the woman's waist while hers went around my neck. Everyone stood and clapped. I tried to end the kiss but Kara wasn't done with me until J'onn cleared his throat. "Sorry," she murmured. Hooking her arm through mine, Kara and I walked back down the aisle as Mrs. and Mrs. Luthor.
Once the ceremony was over, everyone began to eat, drink, and share stories. Having everyone stay at the cabin for the weekend helped those who were newer to the group feel comfortable enough to mingle with the older members. "Your mother would have loved this," Florence beamed. Her eyes fell to the emerald necklace. "You incorporated your past and present well."
"Thank you," I smiled, my fingers brushing both chains. "Morgana is my past and Kara is my future." Taking my wife's hand, I pressed a soft kiss to her knuckles. "I know I said it last night but I'm glad you and Margaret were able to come."
"You're family," Margaret paused. "Both of you are. We wouldn't have missed this for the world."
"Hey!" Mon-El smiled as he approached.
"The man with a death wish," Florence chuckled. "We'll chat more later."
"Congratulations you two." He watched as Florence and Margaret started talking to Eliza. "I'm glad we were able to make it."
"Thank you," we answered.
"You know, I was half joking earlier," I gave the man a side hug once Kara was done. "It's good to see you again."
"Oh, I know," he laughed. "It's good to see you again too. It'll be a while before we see each other next."
"31st century?" Kara asked.
"Mmhmm. Even this trip wasn't the best idea but we had to risk it. No way Winn and I would have missed this."
"I have one question," I folded my arms. "How much of this did you know about?"
"Most of it," he grinned nervously. "Some details changed but I knew you were going to be attacked and taken to Argo. I knew something was going to happen there that would cause you to become Kryptonian." Mon-El yelped as Kara punched him. "What was that for?"
"You knew!" Kara huffed.
"Everything is fine." I side stepped and waved dismissively as nearby conversations stopped. "Run of the mill friendly argument."
"You knew she was going to be attacked and you didn't tell me!"
"If I told you and she was never taken to Argo, the cancer wouldn't have been found," Mon-El rubbed his arm. "Geez!"
"True…" Kara's voice trailed off. "Sorry…"
"Mmhmm," he continued rubbing his arm. "Lena really is a touchy subject for you," he narrowly dodged a slap.
"Like you didn't already know that," I deadpanned.
"Hey, love birds!" Alex yelled. "Come over here so we can start pictures!"
"Here we go," Kara laughed, holding out her hand. Taking it, I allowed the blonde to lead me towards the crowd.
Thousands of photos later, it was time for Kara and I to leave for our Paris honeymoon. Sharing a quick glance, I nodded. In unison, we tossed our bouquets. Alex stood no chance at being missed by Kara's but Sam tried to dodge mine. To her dismay, I used a little magic to make sure it wouldn't land until it hit its mark. I hope someone snapped a picture of Sam being chased by a bouquet. Maybe this will make those two think more about a serious relationship.
