Butterfly Effect

Part 2 of this story, or Part 3 in general, begins now! Before I begin writing about Stardust Crusaders, I predict that I'll be writing on this part longer than the other parts. Luckily I'm also at Part 3 in my other story, so I can copy some lines. It's damn convenient. That said, enjoy!

I do not own JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

Chapter 6: New Adventure

Japan, 1988:

Four tall, muscular men entered a prison corridor. Two actually were old men, they'd witnessed World War 2 with their own eyes. One was a middle-aged man who didn't quite look middle-aged, but about 10 years younger than that. The final one was a young man in the final stages of being young.

"Hey, you're not allow to go any further!" a warden protested, but those orderes were easily ignored by the leader of the group, who picked up the warden by his uniform and placed him aside. "N-noo! What are you doing?!"

"Just stay out of my way!"

A middle-aged woman, looking fine for her age, was glad these men arrived, they were supposed to help her with a certain problem. "Jotaro, it's your grandpa! He'll get you out. Just come out with grandpa!"

She was Holly Kujo, mother of Kujo Jotaro, her son currently locked up in a prison cell. Out of his own volition at that. He reasoned his voluntary stint behind bars by saying he was possessed by an 'evil spirit'.

The four men coming believed him. Three of them had a spirit of their own, the other one didn't, but he believed his lifelong best friend and own son about something he couldn't see himself.

Joseph Joestar, grandfather of Kujo Jotaro and leader of his little group, stood right in front of his grandson, on the other side of the prison bars. They matched in height, build and gaze.

"Come out, we're going home." the older Joestar commanded, calmly yet sternly.

"Get lost, old man!" the younger Joestar refused in the same manner. "No one asked for you! You'll help? Fine! But what can you do for me, huh? Sorry you came all the way from New York, but… No one can help me, gramps. No one…"

Jotaro suddenly held a walkman in his hands. Joseph recognized the music player, he kept it in his own pocket. "What?!"

'M-my walkman inside my jacket's pocket! When did he…' the old man thought in disbelief, wide-eyed.

"Did you see it? Feel it? That's my evil spirit." the young Joestar said in a quiet but warning manner. "Stay away from me or you'll lose what's left of your life."

Two men stepped forward. One was Marco Zeppeli, a man Jotaro called uncle. They weren't biologically related, but he was like a cousin to his mother, because the Joestar and Zeppeli families had a close bond. Marco was blond, tall and muscular, looking like his father Caesar in his younger days, save for the pink marks below Caesar's eyes. His haircut also resembled his namesake, a Nazi called Mark who tragically died to the Pillar Men. He wore a blue shirt and matching blue pants. The other man had light brown skin, dark hair partially held together by a headscarf and two wavy diagonal scars on his face that lead away from his upper nose. His clothing consisted of a long brown robe, a golden earring chain with an Ankh symbol, a scarf around his neck and some weird metallic underwear he wore above his pants.

"I won't introduce your uncle Marco to you. This man is Muhammad Avdol, a friend of mine I met in Egypt 3 years ago. They will help you get out of your cell." the old Joestar explained.

"Back off!" Jotaro wouldn't cooperate. "You two look strong, but I'm not the kind of guy who does what people want. Your opposition only makes this cell seem more inviting."

Marco slightly tilted his head to the left. "What's happened to you, Jotaro? I saw you last year and you were such a friendly boy! Come on, we can resolve this!"

"That's what I'm saying!" Holly chimed in. "He was such a good boy…"

"I don't think we can." The young Joestar was adamant on his stance.

"Tch." Avdol spat. "Joestar-san, I may have to get a little rough… Sometimes suffering is the only way to make a fool see reason."

Jotaro glared at him. For him, the real fool was the egyptian man. His evil spirit was no joke.

"That's fine." Joseph spoke. He knew his grandson was tough, and Joestars weren't strangers to fighting young anyway.

"P-papa, what is this?!" Holly protested, not liking the implication of violence being used.

"Silence!"

Avdol made some movements with his hands, then manifesting his own 'evil spirit' from within his body. A red bird man came out. Sighing, Marco manifested his 'evil spirit' directly, without any special movements. His 'evil spirit' was a blue humanoid figure with red eyes and no mouth. It had wave and twister motifs all over its athletic, ocean blue body.

The young Joestar's eyes widened at the sight of those 'evil spirits', he thought he was a unique case. "But this is…"

"Yes. Avdol, me and even your grandpa also have what you call an 'evil spirit'." the Zeppeli told. "They're actually called [Stand] and are controlled by our will. Summon your own, it's why we're here."

"No!" Jotaro refused, shaking his head. "It's dangerous, I almost killed people!"

"I guess I have to get rough after all…" the egyptian muttered, annoyed at the boy's stubbornness. "[Magician's Red]!"

Fire binded the young Joestar's arms and legs. It felt hot and painful. "Ah, ah, ah! It's hot! F-fire! My arm… my arm is burning!"

Two wardens responsible for him looked at each other in confusion, the fire was invisible to them as they didn't have Stands.

"Fire? Do you see any fire?"

"He seems to be in pain. But why?"

Unable to bear the pain like that any longer, Jotaro was forced to defend himself. He subsequently manifested his own Stand, a very muscular purple man who looked like a handsome barbarian.

"Oh-ho! At last, it's shown itself! Jotaro's great power!" the old Joestar observed in awe, sweating nervously, knowing his grandson had tremendous potential.

That yet unnamed purple Stand grabbed [Magician's Red] by its neck. What happened to a Stand also happened to its user, so that powerful choke caused Avdol visible breathing problems.

"Aha!" Marco remarked in his neutral position. "You're able to release it in a near solid form."

"So we share this curse. Uncle Marco, how much do you know about this… this [Stand]?" the young Joestar asked, barely understanding anything.

Shrugging, the Zeppeli turned his palms upwards. "Not much, it's your Stand, not mine. But judging by how you're handling Avdol, it's clearly very strong." he answered, trying to be as helpful as he could. "Would you let go of Avdol's neck please, it's going to snap if you go on like that."

"No." Joseph objected, his arms folded. "Let him learn the hard way."

"YES SIR!" the egyptian called, attacking anew. "Red Bind!"

A rope of fire coiled around Jotaro's mouth and nose, making it way harder for him to breathe. The fire in general intensified, the thermometer on the wall picked up the rising heat and the wardens physically felt it as well.

"H-hot! What is this heat?!"

"What the hell is going on?!"

"Papa, what is this?!" Holly wanted to know, agitated at her father about what was happening to her son.

"Be a good girl and stay quiet."

Jotaro's Stand lost some visibility, becoming more transparent.

"And there it goes. As the heat takes away your breath, your Stand grows weak!" the old Joestar explained. "Your Stand is a manifestation of your spirit created by your own life energy."

"Heh, breathing and life energy… Brings back memories!" Caesar spoke for the first time.

"Care to come out, Jotaro?" Marco inquired, well aware that he wasn't having his best time.

"I'll stay put until I know I'm not a danger to others!" the young Joestar stated, displaying beliefs of concern and kindness. "It's nice to meet people like me, but if your friend keeps this up…" His eyes narrowed "he'll die!"

With a kick from his own foot, Jotaro shattered his cell's toilet and its water pipe, letting the water spray wildly. The water sprayed onto him, taking out the Stand flames. Able to breathe normally, his Stand returned to its full power, easily breaking and deforming the prison bars. "Rrrraaaaaaaaaah!"

"I can't be responsible for what it's gonna do to you!" the young Joestar warned, addressing Avdol.

With every action done by the purple Stand, the wardens grew more and more scared of the entire situation.

"The bars are bending… But how?!"

The purple Stand ripped out one piece of bar and split it in two with brute force, acquiring two sharp blades. It was ready to attack the egyptian and his Stand.

Avdol merely turned away, withdrawing [Magician's Red].

"Don't turn your back on me! Face me like a man!" Jotaro's Stand furiously roared on its own. The egyptian ignored the Stand's sentient yelling.

"As you can see, Joestar-san, he's now out of the cell."

No longer under attack, Jotaro calmed down, resulting in his Stand's withdrawal. "So you got me, eh?" he huffed.

"Not really. I planned to send you to the hospital." Avdol nonchalantly told, sitting down. "But that was not to be."

"What if I hadn't stopped my Stand from throwing this bar straight through you?" the young Joestar questioned, not annoyed at the earlier remark.

"My ability, the Stand known as [Magician's Red] can melt such a small piece of steel in midair." the egyptian stated, not worried in the slightest about his safety.

Her son finally out, Holly clung to his side. "Jotaro, you're coming out!" she exclaimed in joy, making a happy expression with closed eyes.

"Get the fuck off me!" Jotaro spat in annoyance, his hands in his pockets.

"Oh, sorry about that!" his mother apologized, not caring about the rudeness.

"Hey! How dare you talk to your mother that way! What kind of language is this?!" Joseph angrily scolded, pointing at his grandson. "And Holly, stop smiling at the boy!"

"Mamma mia, youth these days sure is disrespectful." the old Zeppeli remarked, glad his own grandchildren weren't like that.

"As your uncle, I'm disappointed." Marco let the young Joestar know.

"Wait, tell me one thing!" the young Joestar changed the topic, ignoring the lectures from the older men about respectful speech. "How do you all know about my Stand and all that? I don't get it."

Taking a look at his comrades in understanding, the old Joestar pulled out a few photos from his pocket. "I didn't come all the way from New York for nothing. But we need to do things in order to make it clear. They say a picture's worth more than thousand words, and I got a few of them.

He handed his grandson the photos. They depicted a boat, a closed coffin, an open coffin, and a closeup of the coffin reading "DIO".

"What's this?" Jotaro asked, unaware of anything related to that man.

"Something that goes way back in the Joestar Family. A coffin lost for a century, sunk in the Atlantic until 4 years ago. I've already determined that it was on the ship where my grandfather, Jonathan Joestar, died." Joseph informed with cold, hard, serious eyes. "When they found the box it was empty, but I know what was inside. My friends and I… are chasing him!"

"Him?" the young Joestar repeated, still not understanding. "Hold on, you make it sound like it's a person. Why would you call something that's been at the bottom of the sea for 100 years 'him'?"

"His name is… DIO. He is the living incarnation of evil, awakened after a century of sleep! Our family's destiny is to fight this man!" the old Joestar fiercely told, intending to inform his grandson about that man's evil as soon as possible. Of course, he also knew that his grandson would have a lot of questions about the topic. Anyway, that information would be life-changing.

"Well, let's talk more about it in a restaurant."

XXXXXXXXXX

"Hey, JoJo! Listen to us, your grandfather, Zeppeli-san and I came a long way to tell you this!" Avdol demanded, annoyed at Jotaro not paying enough attention.

"Yes, yes. Your name- Avdol, was it?" The young Joestar didn't sound interested in the slightest. "As for you, gramps… Come on, this DIO guy who's died 100 years ago has been raised from the dead? You expect me to believe a shit story like that?"

"I mean, I didn't believe the story about the Pillar Men either when my father first told me about it." the Zeppeli said in understanding.

"Pillar Men?" Jotaro raised a brow in interest. "Never heard of them. What's that about?"

Joseph's neck bent down, he put his palm on his forehead. "Oh no, it seems like we'll sit on this table for a long time…" he groaned, refreshing his memory. His friend Caesar would join him though, at least he didn't have to tell the entirety of the story on his own.

XXXXXXXXXX

About one hour passed, and the young Joestar learned about a ridiculous race and ridiculous fights. He was so baffled, he deadpanned during most of the story. "That's… the most bullshit story I've ever heard about… You two must be kidding me!"

"This… this truly is something beyond my imagination…" the egyptian spoke, just as perplexed. He took a tissue and wiped sweat off his face. "Marco... your old man, he's not serious about it, is he?"

"Well," Marco shrugged "I'm a Hamon user, it's more believable to me than to you. Plus, you said yourself that DIO is a vampire. If vampires are real, then why shouldn't Pillar Men also be real?"

"Hah, that's right." the old Joestar said, putting a polaroid camera on the table. "And now I'm gonna show you just how real the threat of DIO is, and why we must chase him! Jotaro, take a good first look at my own Stand!"

"What, old man?" Jotaro uttered nervously, interested in seeing his grandfather's Stand.

First reaching back, Joseph swung his right fist to crush his new camera into junk. Moments before impact, purple thorns became visible around his hand. As he destroyed the camera, a single photo shot out of it.

"Did you see the thorns around my hand? That's is my Stand!" the old Joestar proudly revealed. "It can reveal faraway visions, place them on film. I gotta bust a 30000 Yen camera every time i use it, but-"

The old Zeppeli then broke out in laughter.

"Huh, what's so funny, Caesar?" Joseph asked.

"Hahahahaha! You know, Joseph, from an outsider's perspective you really look like a crazy idiot, just smashing a brand new camera like that."

"Oh, do I?" The old Joestar smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his head.

"You look like an idiot regardless, gramps." the young Joestar dryly mumbled under his breath. Only his mother heard, but she never reprimanded him for insults anyway.

"Now, Jotaro, the vision will soon appear on this photo, and it will reveal your very destiny!" Joseph told with a very serious demeanor.

Jotaro's eyes widened, he'd listen very closely to what his grandfather would say. Everyone liked to know about their own destiny. "What do you mean?"

Joseph looked at both Holly and Jotaro, signalizing it was a Joestar matter. "Have you two ever taken a close look at the back of your necks?"

Holly and her son both didn't know what the old man implied. "Necks?"

"Not a spot most pay any mind." The old Joestar then pulled down the back of his jacket's collar, revealing a star-shaped birthmark. "I have such a mark on here, and you have too. Take a look at your own necks."

Both his descendants pulled down their own collar to take a look at this one peculiar spot. Just like him, they had one each, and were surprised to see it.

"I heard from my mother that my father had it too. And from my grandmother that my grandfather had it as well." Joseph continued. "Seems like all those with Joestar blood have this star. That star you never noticed before is your Joestar destiny."

"Papa!"

"Listen, don't mess with me…" the young Joestar warned, pointing his finger at his grandpa. This destiny stuff came out of nowhere and he was expected to just accept it. "Just show me the damn photo!"

Jotaro grabbed it as soon as possible and took a look at the photo. A topless, extremely muscular man with blond hair and a scar on his neck was depicted, posing. Like them, he also had a star on his back.

"DIO! My spirit photography only ever shows him! And look at his neck!" the old Joestar called, bearing an expression of immense hatred. "From below the neck, that bastard's body is that of my grandfather, JONATHAN JOESTAAAAAAAR!"

This piece of information made his descendants bulge out their eyes in disbelief. The others on the table sweated nervously and also widely opened their eyes, but preferred to stay as quiet as possible and not butt into that family's matters.

"From what my granny told me about the way my grandfather died… DIO must have survived by taking his body. And one thing I can say for sure! Right now he is hiding somewhere in this world!" Joseph told, still extremely furious. "It's been 4 years since he was revived and our abilities have only since come upon us! What other reason can there be, but DIO!"

"Your uncle Marco and I, we were born like this." Avdol spoke up. "We've always had a Stand. But your abilities are an invisible string to DIO's, meaning Jonathan's body. My only guess is that DIO's rebirth is also your own. He has awakened your sleeping powers."

The young Joestar barely nodded, trying to process this brand new world opening up to him. Supernatural powers were cool, but big power was tied to big responsibility, in his case the destiny of his family. He was far from knowing what he was supposed to do.

"Holly, we'll all be staying in Japan for a while." the old Joestar decided. Even though Holly was an adult woman herself, her father's word still counted. They would be staying in Japan.

One day later, Jotaro returned home early from school. He brought back another teenager his age. That boy, Kakyoin Noriaki, was unconscious, and his hair was as red as the blood smears on his face.

"Oh, hello Jotaro!" Marco greeted the young Joestar. "Who's the boy?"

"A Stand user I fought at school. I brought him here so we can interrogate him about DIO."

"Very useful." the Zeppeli praised, eyeing blood and bruises on the unsconscious teen's face. "You sure did a number on him. Let's bring him into the tea room, everyone else is there."

Jotaro quietly followed his uncle into the tea room. He put the body of Kakyoin into the middle of the room on a tatami mat.

"Wow." the egyptian said, mildly surprised. "Didn't know DIO would send Stand users after us already."

"And a schoolboy at that." Caesar complained, outraged but not loud. "So young! Does this man have no shame?!"

"I'd be surprised if he had any." Joseph gruffly spat. "Anyways, let's see what we can do with this fellow."

They closely inspected Noriaki's body. Everything seemed rather normal about the teen until they looked a little closer at his hair.

"Oh no, this isn't good." the old Joestar stated, furrowing his brows. "Looks like he'll die in a few days…"

"What?" the young Joestar uttered, worried he might become responsible for a death.

"It's not your fault, Jotaro." Joseph reassured, letting his grandson settle down a bit. "That is a flesh bud from DIO, and it's poking right through his brain. Those cells have implanted orders into the boy's mind, he has no control over the flesh bud. That damn thing will kill him if he resists against DIO's orders."

"Then take it out." Jotaro suggested, calm again.

"A bad idea. The bud would rebel and thrash around in his brain. It'd be worse than death." the old Joestar explained.

"Let me tell you about how I met DIO. Let me tell you what happened to me 4 years ago." Avdol spoke, sweating and putting on a hard gaze. "It was a full moon in Cairo that night. I came back to my fortune telling shop. He awaited me there. Eyes so cold it felt like he was invading my heart. And a dubious aura of charisma you wouldn't expect from a man." While reciting the past, the nervousness and unease made his fingertips tremble. "He spoke to me in such a seductive way, his words calmed my heart. That was what scared me, the dangerous sweetness of his voice. And when I saw these flesh buds grow, ready to implant them inside of me, I ran out of there! I just jumped out of the window and ran! Had I not done that, I too would've become a puppet of DIO, like this boy."

"Freaky…" the Zeppeli muttered, warping his lips in disgust. "Thank god you made it out, Avdol."

"I agree, that is freaky. But what about him? We can't leave him like that!" the young Joestar reminded, referring to the possessed redhead.

"Even a skilled surgeon can't remove these things, you know." Joseph explained, giving up on the cherry boy.

"Then… I'll try it! My Stand can catch a bullet in mid-flight, I'll simply pull it out fast, before it can damage the brain!" Jotaro announced, earning alarmed disagreements from the men around him. Those disagreements wouldn't stop him from helping out a victim of DIO while he still had a shot at survival.

"Listen to your grandfather!" the old Zeppeli lectured. "He knows better than you, don't be arrogant!"

"That thing is still alive, you can also endanger yourself!" the old Joestar warned. "There's a reason why part of it is still outside!"

The flesh bud pulled out one tentacle out of Kakyoin's infected spot, invading the young Joestar's hand when he didn't expect it.

"It's gone into your arm! Let go of it now, JoJo!" the egyptian ordered, agitated about the sudden attack.

"It can infiltrate anyone's brain who dares to try and remove it!" Joseph informed, worried about his grandson.

"Hell, what if you get possessed by these flesh buds?!" Marco imagined the worst case, yet he didn't want to not trust Jotaro. "Watch out for yourself!"

"I will, don't worry!" the young Joestar proclaimed, his nerves of steel at work. Fighting the parasitic flesh was mentally more difficult than physically.

Suddenly, Kakyoin woke up from his sleep. His eyes opened wide up, he realized the dangerous state of himself and tried not to panic, but Noriaki was overwhelmed with fear.

"Don't move, Kakyoin… one mistake and your brain is fried!" Jotaro commanded, indirectly helping the redhead by making him freeze out of angst.

Meanwhile, the flesh bud's tentacle crawled below the skin on his face, up from his arm where it used to be moments ago.

"LET GO NOW, JOJO! IT'S REACHED YOUR FACE!" Avdol shouted, willing to interefere during the process. Both the old Joestar and the Zeppelis held him back, though.

"Hold on, Avdol.! What a gransdon I have! His body's under siege, yet he's as calm as can be…"

"It's not like I want Jotaro to be in danger, but in order to overcome challenges, one must risk his own life."

[Star Platinum] accurately and carefully seperated the flesh bud from its host's head. Its hands didn't shake once during the dangerous operation.

"He did it!" the egyptian exclaimed, astounded by the young Joestar's control over his stand.

"Haha, that's Jotaro for you!"

Jotaro then removed the flesh bud's attacking tentacle from his body, throwing it away. The combined hands of the room's 3 Hamon users killed the vampiric cells with the power of concentrated breathing. "Begone, filth!"

As the threat to his life was over, Noriaki slowly leaned upwards, touching the wound where the parasite nested. He calmed down to some degree, he had the luxury to relax. But the redhead wanted answers.

"Why… why did you risk your own life… to save me?" the cherry boy wanted to know, stunned by that kindness. He tried to kill his savior earlier, he felt like he didn't deserve that sort of care.

"Well… I don't really have an answer for that." the young Joestar replied, making him face the back of his head.

Kakyoin's eyes teared up. Other than his parents, no one had shown him this kindness before. For someone with such a lonely life, this meant more to him. He'd sworn to serve DIO, but that was fake and by manipulation, no longer even in effect. Noriaki would surely repay the men who saved him from darkness.

On the following day, Marco went to the kitchen to fetch some food for himself and his new guest. The boy from yesterday stayed over the night, they talked some. He entered the kitchen and only found kitchen utensils and vegetables all over the floor. After approaching the mess to find out what exactly caused it, his jaw dropped. His cousin was lying on the floor, seemingly fainted.

"Holly! Are you-" The Zeppeli touched her skin and felt warmth. Needless to say, it was not the familial type of warmth. "Ah, you're burning up with a fever!"

"Oh….. Ah….." Holly was barely even awake, her current health status couldn't be much worse.

Marco noticed something green behind her neck. He almost panicked. "I-it can't be! Holly, has she…!" Intending to confirm it with his own eyes, the Zeppeli pulled her shirt off her back. A raspberry plant grew out of it.

"It's transparent… My hand passes through it." Marco observed. "Yes, it's a Stand! Holly has also gained a Stand! But…" His expression looked troubled. "So hot! This Stand is causing high fever and doing damage to her. And here I thought only Jotaro and Uncle Joseph were affected…"

His fist curled up into a tight grip. Sweat ran down his face in rapid succession. "Damn it! You need a fighting spirit to control a Stand! Holly's kind and peaceful personality isn't suited for controlling her Stand, her Stand is actually controlling her! Damn it… this is very bad… at this rate, Holly will die!"

Having overheard this commotion, Joseph and Jotaro joined the Zeppeli in the kitchen. They were standing right behind him, looking like they were about to snap.

"Holly…" the old Joestar uttered, on the brink of losing it.

"Huh? Uncle Joseph? Jotaro?"

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah!" the old man yelled, grabbing the younger Joestar by his collar and slamming him against the wall. This action was not a beatdown though, Joseph only needed something stable to hold onto.

"No, I've always known… that this might happen, but… MY GIRL! She is so pure that I've had hope… hope that DIO's curse would just pass by… But how can such a sweet spirit resist that demon's curse?! Huh, tell me, JOTARO!"

Eyes shadowed, Jotaro tightly grabbed his grandfather's wrist, putting an end to his outburst of emotions. "Tell me… what we can do."

Joseph knelt down, taking over the job of holding Holly from Marco. "Argh… we must…" the old Joestar weakly began, but resolute anger with killing intent took over and added strength to his voice. "We must find DIO and kill DIO! Breaking the curse is our only option!"

When dealing with Kakyoin, the young Joestar refrained from killing. With DIO now, he had no other choice anymore. If his mother was to live on, her enemy HAD TO die, this wasn't negotiable anymore.

"We must find him, but my pictures don't ever show us where he is!" Joseph complained, looking absolutely desperate. Without any leads, he couldn't save his daughter.

"Yes, if only we knew! We've already used every tool, machines, computers, to no avail…" the Zeppeli added, sounding nearly as frustrated.

"Wait." Jotaro spoke up. "Why didn't you tell me? My Stand may be able to show us…" He took a DIO photo and looked at it with his Stand "the path to DIO!"

[Star Platinum] closely stared at the photo, trying to make out every single detail, no matter how miniscule. And the reliable Stand found a lead.

"Yes! Its eyes can see it, something behind DIO!" the young Joestar told. "My Stand can move accurately enough to remove a needle from the brain and catch bullets. Let's have it sketch what it sees."

Jotaro took out a notebook and a pen, gave the pen to his Stand and had it draw. [Star Platinum] drew both quickly and accurately. In the end, the notebook depicted a fly.

"A fly?!"

"Hmmm…" Marco mused "It ain't much but that's a lead. Let's try to find out as much as we can."

XXXXXXXXXX

Avdol recognized that fly. It was a Nile Tsetse Fly. He was familiar with it because those flies were common in his country. With that piece of information cleared up, DIO's whereabouts were practically 100% confirmed.

"EGYPT!"

"I could've said so myself." the redhead said with a nonchalant expression. "I was on a trip with my family in Cairo when he put that thing in my brain. It would seem that he does not wish to leave Egypt."

"So, when do we leave? I want to join you."

The Joestars and their allies honestly didn't expect that request.

"Why would you want to come with us?" the young Joestar questioned, not fully trusting him.

"Who can say?" The cherry boy shrugged. "I don't really want to face DIO again, but… let's say you've opened my eyes."

Kakyoin was accepted into the group.

"JoJo, before we go…" Avdol remembered something important. "Your Stand, it's one of a kind. There's something it still needs."

"…Go on."

"I am a fortune teller." The egyptian took out a deck of tarot cards. "One card in this deck will tell us the name of your Stand. Tarots are the cards of fate. They tell us the destiny and ability of each Stand. Do not look, but let chance guide your choice!"

Jotaro randomly chose a card. The card of choice turned out to be the 17th card, 'The Star'.

"So that's your card! I hereby name your Stand [Star Platinum]!"

"Yare Yare Daze." the young Joestar murmured, not caring much. He still accepted the name without objection.

"Hey Jotaro, you can name your Stand by yourself, you know. My Stand's name has nothing to do with tarot cards, it's a music reference." the Zeppeli told.

"Hmph." Jotaro breathed out, rolling his eyes. "Don't care. [Star Platinum]'s the name now."

XXXXXXXXXX

It was the day of their flight to Egypt. Before leaving Japan, Joseph and Jotaro said their goodbyes to Holly, whom they left with the Speedwagon Foundation. Speedwagon Foundation doctors would look after her.

Only those two were inside, the others were waiting outside.

"JoJo's mother… She's the type of woman who can make you feel relaxed just by being near her." Noriaki commented, a smile of pleasure on his face. "If I ever were to fall in love, then I'd want it to be a woman like her. I'd feel like I want to protect her. See her feel better, smiling."

"…Indeed." Avdol merely said, sounding uncomfortable.

"You should be careful, boy. Joseph and Jotaro aren't far enough away to not hear you." Caesar warned, a little amused.

"What he said. Look, you're making Avdol uncomfortable." Marco chuckled. "You like mothers, huh, Kakyoin?"

"…Maybe."

Done tending Holly, the male Joestars joined their allies. It was time to head to the airport. But not before posing.

XXXXXXXXXX

Cairo, Egypt:

DIO channeled Jonathan's Stand power into his arms. He held a camera in his hand, letting the Stand touch the camera, causing the device to shoot out a single photo.

That photo showed an image of 6 men.

"As I thought, they have found where I am. Joseph… Jotaro…" the vampire quietly muttered, crumpling up the photo. "And even some Zeppelis. But what can Hamon do to me now? I should easily be able to deal with those little rats. After all, nothing can beat [The World]!"

And that is it for the first chapter of Stardust Crusaders. I hope I stopped at the right point to build up some anticipation. About the chapter, I have 2 things to say. I skipped the Kakyoin fight because nothing changes compared to canon. If there's one thing I hate to do, it's retelling the canon story. Not only is that a waste of time, it also defeats the purpose of fanfiction. The rest of this chapter was based on canon with some changes, but it's different nonetheless. Caesar also isn't saying much. He's not a Stand user, so his help won't amount to much. Sorry Caesar fans, but Hamon users in general can't do much about Stand users. But anyway, I won't skip the Polnareff fight next chapter. It's a promise.

Feel free to leave a review if you like to.
