Day 3: Training

Timeline: Between 2.07: Transformation and 2.08: Titan Rising

One morning, Robin guided Starfire through the hallways of Titans Tower toward the training facilities.

"I am not sure why I am currently blindfolded," Starfire said, "but I relish any opportunity to hold your hand."

"Yeah…" Robin was glad Starfire couldn't see his blushing face. "It's kind of a trope to surprise someone this way. I guess I wanted to try it once."

"Yet another introduction to Earth culture. How glorious!"

After another minute or so, the duo reached their destination where their teammates already were. Starfire removed her blindfold and saw the training room decked out with lots of elevated targets.

"Wow! What is all this?"

"Rob and I built this training course so you can test your new powers," said Cyborg.

"Yeah, you've got laser eyes now. Pew pew!" Beast Boy exclaimed.

Starfire smiled. "Yes, I would like to explore the full extent of my pew pew."

"You should put these on first, though." Robin handed Starfire the blue mittens she'd recently worn to hide her transformation.

"Um… thank you?"

"It's a way to disincentivize you from using starbolts," Cyborg said. "You don't wanna damage the mittens, do ya?"

"I suppose I do not," Starfire admitted. "They are nice and soft." She slipped them on and took flight. "I am ready."

"Then let's go!" Cyborg pressed a button and the targets started moving.

Starfire soared through the air and unleashed righteous fury through her eyes. The targets soon went down one by one.

Then there was a certain set of targets that lined up at the right time, and she successfully hit them with a single consecutive blast.

"My new eye beams are more concentrated than my starbolts, yes?"

Her teammates noticed this precision as well

"Looks like it," said Robin.

"Now get ready for stage two, Star!" Cyborg shouted. "Take down the baddies!"

He pushed another button and animatronic replicas of Slade, Blackfire, Dr. Light, and Control Freak appeared.

"Ooh, clever!" said Starfire.

The replica of her sister fired some mock starbolts, which Starfire dodged before returning fire with some eye beams. She continued the process with the other animatronics, always making sure to hit them in areas that would best incapacitate them had the villains been the real deal, such as knocking the remote out of Control Freak's hand.

(Meanwhile, Robin slipped away while Starfire wasn't looking).

Starfire descended to the floor in triumph. "I believe I have 'gotten the hang of this', as I have heard some humans say." Her smile quickly vanished once she realized someone was missing. "Where is Robin?"

"He's up there!" Beast Boy announced.

Starfire looked up where he pointed and gasped so loudly it could be heard for miles. Robin lay in the arms of one final animatronic: Kitten.

"She kidnapped Robin for another date!" Cyborg yelled.

Oh, if Starfire was furious before, now she was g'helku, a Tamaranean word describing an anger so severe it can be compared to supernovae.

"Take this, you whore!" She fired her most powerful eyebeams yet at the facsimile of Kitten, completely disintegrating it.

Robin tumbled toward the ground for a split second before Starfire effortlessly caught him. Cyborg and Beast Boy both made :O faces. Even Raven couldn't help but smirk a little.

Starfire peacefully brought Robin down to the ground. "Do not worry. You are now safe from that glempork."

"Thanks…" Robin was blushing hard again.

Cyborg patted him on the back and smiled. "I still can't believe you agreed to that, man."

"Just remember you can't do that to the real Kitten," Raven pointed. "She's just a non-powered teenager."

Starfire nodded before looking down at her hands, realizing the mittens were perfectly unburnt. "The baddies will be going down!"

At first I wasn't sure how exactly I'd handle this "training" prompt, but ultimately I decided something that kind of parallels yesterday's trust fall by the end would work.
