Chapter 5:
Hermione waved her wand over Lily again. As a mass of water came from Lily she gasped for air.
"Lily!" Ginny screamed grabbing hold of her daughter. James noticed a flicker of the flames that surround them and looked up to his father. His father still had the look of determination, but a split second of relief crossed his face.
Soon the boat hit land. Ron was the first to jump out. Hermione and Ginny passed him Lily. Hermione grabbed Albus and Ginny took James by the hand. James ran with his mother to the crumbled wall. He turned back to see his father blast the fire wall back into the water, before turning to run with them. The second his father came through the wall; his Uncle Ron blasted a shield up until the rock wall formed again.
James and the others kneeled on the cave floor. James could hear the waves crashing again. He flinched as his father put his hand on his shoulder, but immediately jumped into his arms and began to sob. James could feel his father's grip tighten around him.
"You're safe. I've got you." James felt his father's hand run through his hair. "I am so proud of you." Harry whispered into his son's ear. James lifted his head to look at his dad.
"Why? I let Lily go into the water. I couldn't protect us. If you hadn't come, we'd be dead." Harry cupped his son's face gently.
"But you fought. You fought to protect yourself and your family. I saw you shooting spells from the boat." James put his head onto his father's shoulder and tightened his arms around his neck.
"James." James turned at the voice of his mother and was pulled into another tight hug.
After a few minutes the adults led the children from the cave where they apprated.
