Chapter Eight: The Stampede Chaos

The Lion Guard were on patrol when they felt the ground rumbling beneath their feet.

*BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM*

Fuli: "Why's the ground shaking?" She asked, looking around.

Bunga: "I bet that was Beshte's stomach." He joked.

Beshte: "I don't think that's my stomach, Little B." He replied, frowning.

The rumbling grew louder and closer.

*BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM*

Ono: "If I didn't know any better, this feels like it's coming from…" He began, but he was interrupted by the sight of elephants stampeding towards them.

Fuli: "Elephants!" He shouted.

Kion: "Hevi Kabisa! Everyone, move out of the way!" He ordered.

The Lion Guard quickly moved out of the path of the stampeding elephants.

Fuli: "Why are the elephants stampeding?" She asked, concerned.

Kion: "I don't know. But we have to stop them. Ono, can you see where they're headed?" He asked.

Ono: "Affirmative." He replied, flying up to get a better view. Using his keen sight, he saw that the elephants were heading towards a waterfall. "Hapana, Kion! The elephants are about to stampede off of Maji Baridi Falls!" He exclaimed.

Kion: "Then we need to calm them down before they reach Maji Baridi Falls. Till the Pride Lands' end!" He declared.

Bunga, Fuli, Ono, and Beshte: "Lion Guard defend!" They shouted in unison as they raced after the elephants.

Once they caught up to the stampede, they tried to reason with the elephants first.

Kion: "Elephants, you need to stop this stampede!" He called out, but the elephants continued to trumpet and run towards the falls.

Kion: "Alright, guys. We need to steer the elephants away." He commanded.

The Lion Guard managed to steer most of the elephants away from Maji Baridi Falls, but a male elephant, a female elephant, and their calf slipped past them.

Ono: "Kion, the last three are almost at the falls!" He said urgently.

KIon: "Fuli, Bunga, Beshte, keep them from falling over!" He directed.

Fuli: "You got it, Kion. Huwezi!" She responded, she used her speed to run in circles around the elephants, trying to slow them down.

Beshte: "Twende Kiboko!" He shouted, using his strength to push the male and female elephants back, but they were pushing him back too. Fuli joined in to help Beshte.

Bunga: "Zuka Zama! I got you, little guy!" He said, grabbing the elephant calf's tail to guide it away from the edge.

Kion: "Keep pushing, you guys!" He encouraged.

Facing the waterfall, Kion used the Roar of the Elders to create a giant water barrier, just in time to stop the male and female elephants from falling over the edge. After a tense moment, the elephants finally calmed down.

Bunga: "Phew, I'm beat." He said, sitting down.

Beshte: "I wonder why the elephants were stampeding?" Beshte pondered.

Ono: "It felt like the stampede wasn't an accident." He observed.

Kion: "Which means someone made the elephants stampede." He deduced.

Fuli: "But who could've caused it?" He wondered.

Bunga: "Um, Fuli. I think I just found out who caused the stampede. And you might not like who did it." He said, looking up.

Fuli looked up and saw Bobo on one of the elephants' backs, laughing.

Fuli: "Bongo?!" She exclaimed.

Bobo waved at the Lion Guard, still pretending to be Bongo.

Fuli: "Bongo, come down here right now!" She demanded.

Bobo climbed down the elephant's trunk, still acting innocent.

Fuli: "Bongo, did you cause the elephants to stampede?!" She asked sternly.

Bobo nodded, grinning mischievously.

Bunga: "Unbungalievable." He muttered.

Bobo: "Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!" He laughed at the chaos he had caused.

Fuli: "Bongo, this isn't funny! You almost made the elephants stampede off of a waterfall!" She scolded.

Bunga: "Why is Bongo acting like this all of a sudden?" He questioned.

Kion: "I don't know." He replied.

Beshte: "And why is he causing a lot of trouble lately?" He asked.

Ono: "He's never acted this way before." He added.

Fuli: "Bongo, I'm sorry, but I think you should leave." He said, firmly

Bobo sat there, confused.

Fuli: "Bongo, did you not hear what I said? I said, leave!" She repeated, frustrated.

Bobo started tugging Fuli's tail, which made Fuli growl at him.

Fuli: *snarls angrily* She snarled, startling everyone.

Bunga: "Did Fuli just growl at Bongo?" He whispered..

Kion: "Yeah, she did." He confirmed.

Ono: "Fuli never growled at Bongo before." He said, shocked.

Beshte: "Well, it's like my dad always says, "Once you see it, you better believe it." He remarked.

Fuli: "Bongo, I'm not going to tell you again! Leave!" She demanded.

Bobo lets go of her tail, a mischievous grin on his face, and turns around to head back home. Fuli's ears dropped, and a frown formed on her face. She couldn't understand why Bongo was acting this way, not knowing it was actually Bobo.

From afar, Janja observed with satisfaction.

Janja: "Yes, I've finally got Bobo to ruin Fuli's friendship with Bongo!" He celebrated.

Cheezi: "Yeah, Fuli's so mad at Bongo." He agreed.

Janja: "I can't wait to see the look on Fuli's face when she yells at Bong." He said, grinning.

Chungu: "So, what's the plan now, Janja?" He asked.

Janja: "The plan is we are going to eat Bobo after he lures a herd of gazelles into the Outlands tomorrow." He revealed, grinning maliciously. "Haaaa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!" He laughed maniacally, unaware that Bobo had no idea about his true intentions.
