Things have been weird lately, I figured when Selina Kyle essentially walked in on Pam and me, I was waiting for the shoe to drop and the clan to find out. Yet none did, no judgement or intervention, well other than Red Hood and his not-so-silent judgement.

Nonetheless, things were weird between Pam and me, not that I was blind to the more obvious issue in our relationship, I was 'working' way too much lately, helping out Wing and Hood when they needed it, Gotham and its never-ending issues, and the Team needing my brand of back up whenever it was called upon.

I tried to keep my girlfriend in the loop as much as possible, but the other obvious issue between us sometimes caused her to clam up occasionally. She was a villain, and I was playing a hero.

And here I was, taking another shit load of responsibilities because Superman of all beings nominated me for the League.

After I was done here, I should surprise Pam, maybe take her out on a proper date.

But first thing, first, it's time to ham up the role.

"I'm going to kill 'em," I intoned keeping my voice low.

Red Arrow smirked as he stood beside me, "Not one for pageantry? Not many people are willing to say those words even in a low whisper, big blue will pick it up."

"I know, and I'm all the happy for him to hear it." I snip.

I didn't need to look to the side to know Batman was smirking at my plight.

Part of the plan, his plan.

I came to him and told him my suspicion about Red Arrow, he was possibly the mole, but I couldn't remember the key details because I never knew it wholly, plus this wasn't the same universe as the show, hardly anything lined up to it.

But Batman being Batman, needed little but my word that Red Arrow was up to no good, that he allowed Green Arrow's former protégé a spot in the League, so he could gleam what the possible plant had in mind.

Though that didn't make any sense why the fuck I'm here.

Myself, Red Arrow, Jessica Cruz, Icon and the Atom were introduced as new members of the Justice League.

I can hear Red Hood's mocking laughter right now.

Superman finished his grandiose speech and then turned to us and handed us a card, an 'official' Justice League membership card, I'm fairly sure you buy one of these from a website of homemade goods and whatnot.

Superman gave me a sheepish smile when I looked at the card in disgust, seriously, what the fuck are these? "Probably be easier if you guys actually chipped us."

"They're not…" Superman trailed off as I slipped the card into Red Arrow's pocket when the archer wasn't looking.

Whatever Batman could handle the likes of Red Arrow.

With Superman's eyes off me, I ducked out with magical means, though I'm fairly sure he sent Batman a pointed look as I turned tail and booked it out the press conference.

I don't expect much to change in my day-to-day, the League, the Team, Gotham, it was all the same to me.

Nothing changes.

"We should make this quick," Pam said in hushed tones, yet I still picked it up, alongside the fearful caution in her voice.

I stopped myself from entering the skyline, and I took a closer look at the scene below.

Harley Quinn and her motley crew I could handle Pam being in contact with, King Shark wasn't a bad, bad guy for a villain I mean, Basil Karlo, this version of Clay Face was more of a hocky actor.

Yet I didn't know how to feel with the Joker being here alongside Quinn and her crew.

Pam wasn't scared of the likes of the Joker, he was ant to her, and he couldn't beat her with her powers. Yet she seemed scared, she was scared I was going to see this. Whatever this is.

"Now, now, Ivy my dear, we all know how this plays out." Joker leered with his manic grin, "You're needed, so cut the cloak and dagger shit and get back out there."
"Cloak and dagger?"

"Well," Joker cocked his head to Quinn who was trying her hardest not to meet the red-heads gaze, "what do you call this clandestine meeting, my girl had to arrange?"

"Not your girl," Pam growled.

"Yeah, yeah, girl power and all that nonsensical gibbering," Joker said not at all hitting the true nature of Pamela's words.

…Fuck. Even after all this time.

Pamela gritted her teeth as she glared at the Clown Prince of Crime, "What do you need?"

I wasn't alone on the rooftop, several bodies dropped from a helicopter that had snuck up on me. League of Assassin's stealth design, I hazard a guess.

Four people surrounded me, all dressed in ninja outfits, I was able to still dodge, and weave the various throwing knives, arrows and sword strikes, yet it was clear that I was going to manage it seemed, as dear old Nyssa bodied me through the skyline.

"It's simple," The Joker continued, not all bothered by the forcible entrance of my creator and I, "kill him."

Managing to land a stray kick to Nyssa's gut, I was able to get back onto my feet and launch her away from me.

"Freak?" Pamela let out and confirmed in her dread-filled voice her worst-case scenario just happened.

"Kill him," Joker ordered again as the four assassins on the rooftop just dropped into the home.

"Fuck yo-"

The Joker rolled his eyes and pulled out a gun, though it wasn't aimed at either of us, no he aimed it at Harley and pulled the trigger, a dart hit her neck, and instantaneously she was forced to brace herself against the wall as she slid to the ground in a hazy manner.

A rope dropped from the wrecked skyline, and the Joker attached a device to it as he was hoisted up and away from Pamela's wrath, "Kill your little boy-toy, and I'll give you the cure."

Pamela rushed towards Harley, she cut herself and tried to use her blood to flush out whatever the Joker created. She could probably do it, but the limitation lay with Harley, she was still human, it was all sciency and went over my head, but something to do with the enzymes not taking root fast enough or whatever.

Boy-toy?

How would he…

The League of Assassins knew I was going to be here.

"Red Hood," I tapped my comms, for a traitorous moment, I had thought Jason had betrayed because of well… no Jason was a prick, but he wouldn't work for the likes of Joker for anything, "Your place is bugged by the League of Assassin's, head to the cave and backup the others. Call for-" Nyssa bull rushed me with a katana.

Bringing up my gauntleted arm to block the strike, I stepped into her stance, a stench on her blade, she cooked something up just for me, "Subject Two."

"Lapdog." I spat, and damn did I hit a nerve as she seethed, "First your father's, and now the Joker's."

Her face became rigid as she went on guard, not falling for my ploy. The assassins joined the fray and I was forced to relinquish the clinch. The nameless assassins weren't anything to brag about nor was taking them down, though they were brought here to be fodder, giving the real threats some time to get their bearings straight.

King Shark let out a beastly roar and charged. Ducking all of his strikes was harder than most would expect from such a large foe, he was fast and nimble despite his size, though I gave as good as I got.

Meeting every punch and kick twice-fold, eventually, his partner in crime joined as Clay Face tried to encompass me in his being.

Grabbing my claw, I tried to gain some distance between me and the hulking villains, though this hurt… and it was painful, in the physical sense also.

A vine, as thick as my arm, wrapped around it, crushing the claw and the bones in that hand.

All sense of urgency died in me.

Looking in her direction, Poison Ivy was hunched over, refusing to gaze at me, tears streamed down her face, as she clutched at Harley's convulsing form.

Clay wrapped around my legs allowing King Shark the opening to pummel me without restraint. As I slumped, trying to fight for my ability to stand in the muck of clay, allowing King Shark to get a firm hold on me, restraining me, and giving Nyssa the opening to stab me in the chest.

The last thing I saw was the almost pained grimace on Nyssa's face before my eyes closed.

'Rip and tear.'

"What the-" Clay Face screamed bloody murder as the shadows around him grabbed at the clay at all angles and tore him off my body, the shadows looked like tendrils as they clawed at the man-turned-clay.

Lashing my leg out, Nyssa was thrown back, hitting the kick island edge directly on the centre of her lower spine.

Hitting my elbow back the hulking shark man reeled back from the hit, he would've tumbled to the ground but I reached forward and held onto his arm that was previously gripping me. I then kicked with all my might, and in a gory sight, King Shark's arm was severed, blood and sinew were on full display as King Shark passed out.

Pulling the katana out of my chest I turned to Poison Ivy.

'Rip and tear.'

"I told you he doesn't need backup."

"No, you didn't," Nightwing said in response to Red Hood, "why are you putting up an act?"

I stalked forward, "Woah, Freak."

The sound of a body being dropped was heard and all of a sudden Nightwing and Red Hood got in my way.

"Pal,"

"Freak,"

I stopped in my tracks as I stared at the two, 'Rip and tear.' The shadows around us wavered.

"...you heard that right." Red Hood asked, and the older man shivered.

"Yeah."

Controlling myself and ignoring the voice urging me to fight these two. I instead urged the demon half to back down and took a moment to look around, the place was wrecked.

It wasn't home, but it was close enough, I went to sleep here, I came here most of the time after missions and patrols, hells I fucked my girlfriend here.

A part of Clay Face renewed, yet he seemed damaged as only a small part of him reformed, I glared his way and he trembled at my gaze, "Stop him from bleeding out or don't. I don't give a fuck either way." I jerked my head to King Shark.

Spotting Nyssa as she lay on the ground prone, I felt a sense of guilt, I didn't care for her but to do what had happened to Babs felt wrong, yet I didn't have the time to take in the moment, as the man who seemingly started this had laid up on the shag rug, handcuffed in a hog-tied position.

I was deep in my world of demonic haze to notice how the former boy-wonder duo took down the stealth chopper and the clown.

Walking over to him, he opened his mouth with a manic grin on his face, so nothing beyond the norm, yet not giving him the chance to provoke me, I gave him a swift kick across the jaw. Not needing to turn around to see the wide grin on Red Hood's face as I broke the vermin's jaw.

Reaching into the inner pocket of his purple blazer, I pulled out his gun, and opened the barrel, pulling out a second dart, it was coloured differently than the initial dart he shot Quinn with.

Huh, sentimentality or just not wanting to cause Poison Ivy to go on the warpath against him? I didn't care either way.

Gripping the dart in the palm of my hand, I ignored the harsh whispers of Red Hood and Nightwing, I had a feeling the latter was catching the former up on my fucked love life.

I topped his monumental 'worse choice' title.

Poison Ivy finally looked up, and I wanted to curse the part of me that wanted to reach out to her and hug away the sorrow in her green orbs.

"Two, I had no choice."

"...You could've helped me."

Something flashed across her face, and I don't know what hurt worse, the betrayal or the fact the thought didn't cross her mind.

She let King Shark and Clay Face attack, they weren't here with the League of Assassins or the Joker, they would've stopped if she told them to, she could've helped me, hells she could've just let me chase the Joker and I would've got the cure sooner… and yet with Harley Quinn's life on the line, she didn't even think.

I chucked the cure and it landed on Quinn's stomach, "I loved you."

"Two… I-"

My crushed hand had healed itself from my episode though I don't know how or why but I felt an urge to reach out to the skyline and a black mist with a clawed hand grappled me out of there.

If I didn't feel like shit I would've gushed over how dope that was.

A spotlight shone down on the rooftop, looks like the GCPD were called just in the nick of time or Nightwing gave Gordon the signal to move in, speaking of who, he was quick to follow, and thankfully Red Hood was behind him, I really didn't want to deal with him going all murder happy.

Nightwing puts a hand on my shoulder, "Oh buddy, I'm-"

"The League of Assassin's were working with the Joker,"

Nightwing let out a sigh at the deflection thought it wasn't so much of a deflection but a focus on the priority right now, "The Joker has been holding himself up with the Injustice League,"

"Fuck." Red Hood cursed, and we all knew he was tempted to go back down and end the scum once and for all, I was tempted to hold back Nightwing and give him the go-ahead but, Gordon's boys were flooding the scene, now wasn't the time for it.

"I have a suspicion that Red Arrow is a mole," My eyes landed on Red Hood and he got defensive with the staring.

"What twerp?"

"The cave," A sense of urgency hit me, did they ignore me? If I was getting ambushed here, then the League who knew where the cave was, would defo hit that place.

"Relax." He said without a hint of worry.

Flashing lights of blue and red approached the building and a swarm of GCPD rushed in with specialist equipment.

"Orphan?"

"Orphan." Nightwing confirmed, "So Red Arrow is a possible mole?"

"I'm heading to Happy Harbour. You guys don't-"

Red Hood's helmet isn't exactly expressive, yet I could pick up the flat look he was sending my way, "Hey Wing, is the twerp that always rushes headfirst in our problems and threats, telling us to beat it?"

"Yep, looks like it, Hood." Nightwing's expression was wholly level.

"The audacity of this bitch."

Well, this calls for messing with them, "Aww, it's adorable when you two act all brotherly."

Wing snorted and Hood rolled his eyes, and I called for Baby, allowing her to enlarge to give the duo to ride along with me.

I looked down and spotted Poison Ivy being taken by the GCPD alongside the Joker, whilst the others were getting medical care by the paramedics.

Priorities. Make sure the team are good, then make bad life choices.

Touching down on the farmstead I sure as hell wasn't excepting to be bodied by a blur, there was an initial sound of bones cracking as I was hoisted off the ground, and though our feet were still hovering off the floor, she let up on the hold so she wasn't crushing me.

"The urge to tease is so strong right now."

"Don't," Red Hood commanded with an oddly serious tone, "let him get over it," The 'it' didn't need to be named, "then we tease him."

"Hey Kara," I patted the girl's back.

"Kara." A male voice called out the female-Kryptonian-clone looked sheepish as she let up on the bear hug and hovered us back down to the ground, "Remember hon' you've gotta always have a sense of awareness."

An older man chided good-naturedly and the girl nodded, "I know pa," She then ran a hand through the side of her black locks and tucked them behind her ears as she glanced back at me, "But its Ammon. He knows everything, and…"

Jonathan Kent, he was somehow alive here. Was he in the show?

Anyhow, the man took to Clone-Clark to how he took to Clark, being a complete and utter goat of dad's.

And Clark took to the girl how he would to his cousin who I'm thinking doesn't exist here, being a total big brother to said girl, he even gave her a mobile phone, which conveniently had my number on it, my personal one, I didn't think he had that number, but it turns out the Boy-Scout could pull a fast one, and probably stole it off Bruce, that or he asked and I was overthinking it.

We messaged each other, I'm thinking considering she was currently being homeschooled, they wanted her to be exposed to someone who could understand her plight, which was limited to about two people. I wonder if she was also messaging Connor.

"You missed your friend, but even still Kara,"

"Give her a break sweetheart," A woman who screamed 'home' approached as she placed a hand on Jonathan's lower back, "this is the first time her friend has come," She smiled our way though it quickly turned almost dejected.

"Uh, sorry m'am."

Hood and Wing also nodded and gave the couple their apologies, the power of the Kents was almost as powerful as Alfred's. There's a reason why I hadn't checked on in the cave right now.

"Are you at least okay, son?" Jonathan asked with a kind smile, and it was like a light switch was flicked on, I was pretty much covered in my blood, my mask was damaged from King Shark's beating, so I had forgone it for now.

Kara placed a hand on my chest, her brows furrowed as her thumb grazed the hole where my heart was on my chest plate.

"We need your help, Kara." I let out a sigh, a coordinated attack like the one at the cave and Ivy's place wasn't something I could just pussyfoot around, "Con may be in trouble also."

She looked up from the healed but fatal wound, her blue eyes were washed away in a sea of red, I could feel the heat from behind her gaze, yet I wasn't afraid in the slightest.

She squared her shoulders and puffed out her chest, before rushing out of sight and returning the moment Red Hood questioned where she disappeared off to.

Her outfit was a near copy of Superman's, though it fit her well enough that it was safe to assume that the Man of Steel made her a copy of the outfit.

"Nice suit," Kara's hardened look waivered as she tried not to preen. I heard the clown-duo behind me snort and mutter to themselves despite the present company, "Though it would be good if the Boy Scout gave one to Conner also, Superboy usually ends up shirtless with how he fights."

"Conner?" Martha Kent uttered with a voice that promised punishment, "That's Superboy's name."

"Now Martha, maybe Clark doesn't know, the young boy hasn't been-"

"Uh, sorry to cut you off sir," I said and got the attention of the elderly couple, "I don't know what Clark has told you, but he's keeping Conner at arm's length, Con is the one who wants something of a relationship with the Boy-Scout."

Did I just snitch on Superman?

Jonathan Kent just took a cautious glance at his wife, who in turn looked like she was going to put Earth's symbol of hope over her knee.

Yep, I snitched on Superman to his ma.

"Be sure to be safe, Kara," Jonathan placed a hand on the girl's shoulder and gave her a chaste kiss on the forehead, "Ammon, Dick, Jason, kick ass." Does Superman tell his parents everything? So dorky and wholesome.

"Sir,"

"You got it, Mr Kent."

"See you soon, pa and ma."

Baby took off and Kara opted to ride on my alien ride as opposed to flying, I would assume to save some energy.

There were too many points of entry at the base for it to be safe, yet we used one, so we didn't announce ourselves.

Overlooking the team getting debriefed by Batman as he explained that Red Arrow was the mole, we watched on, though I was forced to stop Kara from dropping down and giving away our concealed position.

"And when he was finally admitted, his secondary programming kicked in and he attempted to betray the League to Vandal Savage." Batman's voice was too robotic, even for him, Nightwing looked up from the scene below and Hood and I nodded at his look.

Red Hood used the codded sign language we deployed in moments like this, though I didn't respond as I placed a finger to my lips to stop Kara's questioning.

Thankfully Nightwing knew it was better that we clued the team up without fighting Batman first.

"…have to face the possibility that the real Roy Harper is dead."

Aqualad let out a pained grimace at the revelation that his best friend is a traitor, "The Clone Roy, the Team will find him."

"Negative." Red Tornado affirmed.

"Red Arrow is a member of the Justice League now. Once Freak responds, he will be sent out to find him."

"Responds?" Red Robin asked will worried dread.

"Freak hasn't been seen since the ceremony.

"Probably rumblings in Gotham, you know how much he overworks himself."

I felt two pointed stares being sent my way, I raised up the coded word for 'go fuck yourself' at the duo.

"Tornado, stay with the kids."

Tim being the ever detective of us all, knew what was up without being told, he tensed, and his hand went to his pouch, though I let out a whistle in the tune to, 'olly olly oxen free.'

The mind-controlled Batman turned around for a moment, and the camel's back was wrecked beyond repair when he believed Red Robin's pursed lips were the cause of the whistling.

"Recognized: Batman, 0-2."

With Batman out of sight, I held an arm out to stop my team in the rafters from making a move just yet, keeping our eyes on Red Tornado, though Kara leapt down the moment she saw the android trying to place something on Superboy when the half'n'half clone's back was turned.

Kara bodied the android while Red Robin pulled Superboy out of the way.

We all jumped down, following the full clone.

"Tornado is offline." I pulled Kara off the bot as she hadn't eased off, waiting for it to go on the attack, "It went offline before Supergirl pounced."

"Freak, what's going on?" Kaldur asked as Red Robin greeted the duo of the former Robins with an uneasy glance.

Reaching down, I checked Red Tornado's hand and found a strange sticker-like device, "The League is compromised." I held up the device for the others to see.

"Batman called us kids, he never does that."

"Anyone want to catch me up on who these guys are?" Rocket asked.

"That's a bio-tech chip we confiscated off Cheshire," Artemis said with dread.

"Then Roy might not be…" Kaldur said with hope, but I shook my head.

"I had a feeling he was the mole. So, I told Batman, who said he had it handled, turns out he wasn't expecting Red Arrow to pull something like that," Or Batman was the last to mind controlled, so he was most likely overpowered by the other controlled heroes.

"You knew there was a mole?" Kaldur accused.

"Yep," I popped the p as I gave him an even look to meet his glare, "just like you figured it was me, you didn't trust me with the information, in turn I didn't trust any of you barring Con, or Red Robin, of course."

Kaldur flinched, while the named two scowled my way, I trusted them, but I didn't tell them of my thoughts.

Miss Martian let out a sigh, and Artemis looked guilty, "We have something to tell you Freak." Miss Martian rubbed her arm as she folded into herself.

"You're a white Martian," I turned my gaze to the archer, "and Chesire is your sister. I've known for a while." I said cutting off the revelation, I already knew about the Martian's heritage because it was the worse bait-and-switch mystery at the beginning of the show, and I knew Artemis's secret because of… porn. Thank fuck Miss Martian doesn't ever try to read my mind anymore.

"How? Your mother is an ex-con in Gotham, you really think I wouldn't know." She looked like she hadn't considered that line of thinking and then slammed a palm to her forehead.

Nightwing than cleared his throat and sent me a pointed look, "What… oh." I shrugged my shoulders, "I was dating Poison Ivy."

"What?"

"Well," Red Hood said in a swamy voice, "you were fucking her silly, don't romanticize that bitch considering she tried to kill you." Biting down the urge to defend… my ex, I just gave the man a curt nod.

"What!?"

Kid Flash just raised a fist up waiting for me to bump it, he was looking at me in a new light. Artemis swatted his arm down.

"So, what now?" Conner asked as he and Kara were done conversing, yet he hadn't asked his team leader but me.

Hells they were all looking my way, even Kaldur.

Looking over to Red Hood and Nightwing, I spotted them leaning back with identical smirks on their lips, "Please tell me I ain't in charge because I'm a member of the League."

"You're a League member, you're in charge." Red Robin was sporting the same look, "Poor life choices notwithstanding, we trust you."

"You guys aren't ever going to stop bringing that up, are you?"

Three voices spoke at once, "Never."

"Seriously, I'm still pretty sour that Hood knew before I did,"

"What the fuck, why did he know before either of us?"

Kara narrowed her eyes, clenching her fists and ignored the jabbering banter of the three former Robin's, not uttering a word.

"Focus," I commanded not because I feared for my life from what appeared to be a slightly infatuated Kryptonian, but because we would be in hot water if the League walked in right now.

"Red Robin, Miss Martian, I need you two to take Red Tornado to the lab and inspect him and the bio-chip." Mind control that affected organics and tech, they were best suited for this, "Con, see if you can't find something to fight off the control." I let out a sigh and locked eyes with Connor, he'd understand who else to touch base with, "Contact Dr Spence at Cadmus. See if she has any insights."

"Though wait for Nightwing to touch base with Oracle, to see if he and mostly her can wrangle control of the base and the Watchtower from the League,"

The five rushed out as their task was more time-sensitive, and I turned back to the rest, "The rest of us will need a plan of attack. We have to assume we're going to be fighting the entirety of the Justice League."

"We should get Roy." Kaldur intoned.

Withholding a sigh, I could understand his thoughts, but I wouldn't risk it, not until we got everything under control, "No."

"Freak." Kaldur tried to puff out his chest, but I wasn't having it.

"We're planning on facing the League, some of them are our mentors, but nearly all of them are the best of the best, answer me this, will you have someone who compromised alongside us?" Will you risk the Team for Roy?

The aim was wrangling the League out of control of Savage, it was essentially slapping a band-aid on the problem, they'd need more than whatever means Red Robin and Miss Martian would conjure up in the short time constraint they've got before they get the all clear.

Kaldur nodded conceding to my point.

"After…"

"After," I agreed easily enough.

"Recognized: Black Canary, 1-3."

"Hey, guys, wanted to check in and see how you're handling the…" Black Canary blinked owlishly as she took in my form, "Freak," She put on an airy fake smile. Red Hood jumped the gun and used a blunted throwing tool to strike her in the throat, disabling her cry for a moment as she clutched at her neck.

Rushing in, I clothe-pegged the blonde with an outstretched arm, knocking her on her arse before slamming her head on the hard ground.

"Well, that was easy, maybe we'll be fine." Kid Flash, ever the idiotic-optimist said with a cheer.

"We've got to deal with three Green Lanterns, Captain Marvel, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Hawk Man, Hawk Woman, Atom, Icon, Aquaman, Flash, Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman."

"We're right fucked, aren't we?" Kid Flash said missing my point, I didn't want to paint our chances are dire but I sure as hell wanted no assurance for what was to come.

"Yes, it seems."

"No," I said firmly, "Observing Batman, and taking in the ease of how quickly we took down Black Canary, it's safe to say that their control is a sort of puppet scenario."

"Still dangerous foes." Rocket said speaking up for the first time, we kinda skipped introducing ourselves to each other.

"Yes, they will be," I wasn't going to deny the fact, "but it gives us a chance to exploit their weakness that we know of as we can."

"Could we not call in the Titans?" Artemis asked as she pointed a thumb to where Nightwing had disappeared.

I shook my head, "We called in the Titans, Zatanna, Ms Marvel and John Constantine, to fill in the gaps where the League and the Team would be needed. This was a coordinated attack," Dick also knew way more heroes past and present than I did, he had called them and spread them out. "To put it plainly we're on our own."

Nightwing spoke up, returning alongside Superboy, just as the teleporter whirled with a shutdown chime echoing out, "Oracle worked her magic," He said with pride gleaming clear in his eyes, "once Red Robin and Miss Martian do there's, we follow your lead." He nodded with ease, despite what was to come.

The plan of attack was simple, we'd get Miss Martian to rip the rough locations out of Black Canary's head of the League in the Watch Tower. We'd enter in pairs, hunting our marks, if we succeeded the pair would then move to assist our next team member closest to our immediate location.

Yet there were some caveats like Kid Flash would play bait for Flash, leading him to Artemis who would use her trick arrows to aid the speedster against his mentor, here's hoping the duo could take down the archer's mentor without the man paying them back in kind.

Rocket and Aqualad also wanted to be the ones to take on their mentors, and since neither man had exploitable weakness beyond the normal ken of taking down superable beings, I saw no reason to deny them it.

Miss Martian and Red Robin need to hunt down Atom asap, I won't risk an ace like Atom anything but utmost attention first and foremost before the two go after the Martian's uncle. Then they'll have to double back and deal with the Hawk couple.

"That still leaves the Lanterns, Marvel, Wonder Woman, Superman and… Batman." Red Robin stated as I caught him and Miss Martian up when they themselves returned, with a device similar to the bio-tech chips, that should overwrite the initial mind-control devices.

"The Lanterns are simple," I winced at the words, they were anything but, I was hoping the puppet master wasn't able to fully utilise the lantern ring as they could, even still they had a not so much weakness, that being yellow, I know it was such a sucky weakness in terms of being useful against them, and from what I could gleam a weakness that veteran lanterns could overcome with the right mindset. Nonetheless, we all were going in with yellow spray paint, other than that, the lanterns were going to get hit hard and fast.

No one liked it but they agreed, nevertheless.

"Nightwing, Red Hood. You've got Batman, and I expect you both. Stop smiling!" I snapped at the two, but they continued to grin at the upcoming fight, "When you take him down, head to the main chamber and deal with Savage."

"Supergirl you've got Superman, I've got Wonder Woman and Superboy, Marvel is all yours." I had excepted Connor to scowl and bitch, but he surprised me as he nodded in complete understanding, Supergirl was the strongest we had on our side, she was able to match Superman, I could exploit the man's weakness to magic for sure but we ran the risk of Wonder Woman using her magical armaments to slay the girl. And Marvel was able to take us all down. The half human aspect wasn't what I was banking on so much as Kara's glaring weakness to his magic. He was a lesser risk than Wonder Woman and him.

I picked up an inverse-bio-chip, I may not like the lady but Dr Spence worked wonders, thankfully the cave was equipped with a Wayne-Tech industrial 3-D printer, allowing them to create it in no time and test it out on Canary and Tornado, they were out for the count but it Miss Martian gave them the green light.

Everyone followed suit, picking up their own.

"See you all on the other side."

"So rousing," Red Hood mocked.

Nightwing wiped away a mock stray tear, "Inspirational."

Turning to Red Robin, I asked him a fair question, "Is it bad I want Batman to win?"

Red Robin grinned, "I thought I was the only one."

"How are you guys joking around right now!?" Rocket shrieked with her nerves at the forefront of her emotions.

The four of us simultaneously shrugged.

The team moved like ghosts.

Oracle took over the Watch Tower silently, letting Savage and the controlled League be none the wiser. With the surveillance cameras tapped and the information Miss Martian ripped out proved to be useful in tandem, we could have some faith that it wasn't a trap, well a trap that we weren't aware of.

Oracle had disabled the announce function of the teleporters of the Watch Tower, and we all managed to enter without being revealed. Anonymity worked in our favour so, from the moment we entered the Watch Tower, comms was restricted as was Miss Martian's telepathy until her uncle was taken down.

The calm before the storm, I had realised I think I overlooked something, they were the Justice League, I mean I didn't forget that simple, simple fact, and yet I did. When you discussed overpowered characters, it would be hard-pressed not to hear the name Superman, and for good reason.

But it wasn't just the bullshit of Kal-El never hitting his peak, because his power was simply limitless, the man was like ironically All-Might, he exuded power, might, and if you were his foe, a sense of dread.

Superman rushed up and pulled me out of the rafters, slamming me onto the ground, not letting up on his vice-like grip around my neck, he raised me up and before he could snap it like a twig or I could spell-blast him in the face, Supergirl came barrelling in with a fist cocked back. Driving a fist into the head of Man of Steel, he reeled back letting go of his grip as opposed to tightening it and popping my head like a water balloon.

My oversight reared its head yet again, as Wonder Woman in all her glory, roared with a sword swing, aiming to decapitate Supergirl right there and then.

Shoulder barging the floating girl, I pulled out the demon blade, and the hell metal ground against the Olympian steel in a flurry of sparks.

Every strike, slash and perry had to be perfect, timing-wise, else Wonder Woman would skewer me, yet the same could be said for her. Neither of us refused to let up on our onslaught even if I wanted to curl up and sleep through this New Year's Eve.

Deafening sounds of a skirmish echoed out in this chamber, Kara was giving it her all against her male counterpart. Yet another fight melded into the chamber, as Marvel threw Superboy through a wall and into the room.

Marvel looked away from Superboy's briefly prone form and took in the sight of Supergirl, struggling to tag Superman with the inverse-bio-chip.

He then charged a lightning bolt and prepared to strike her down with it.

Kent is going to kill me. It was a theory, no not even that, it was an idea, that was completely ripped from an awesome show that was peak-tier story telling. I didn't tell him that, of course, and he was beyond adamant that he wasn't going to throw a bolt of lightning at me.

Do or die. Literally.

Spartan kicking Wonder Woman, it gave me some distance between us. Getting in the path of the lightning bolt I questioned my life choices, and I got into the stance. Sticking out my ring and index finger, pain entirely washed over me yet I held firm. As the bolt travelled up my arm, through my heart, and with the motion of my movement, out of the other arm.

Wonder Woman's face of complete shock was savoury as it came, as I redirected the lightning bolt at her.

Hitting her squarely on the chest.

She was embedded into the wall behind her, not wasting the opening I rushed forward and placed the chip on her head. Noticing that my arms were fucked, I let out a hiss and glared at Marvel as he once again charged another bolt, this time aimed at me, yeah I'm not redirecting lightning again, any time soon.

Dodging the blitz of lightning sailing my way, Marvel's focus was solely on me, forgetting the person who had put him through the wringer, and when I neared Superboy acted by grabbing Marvel as I sank a fist into his stomach, Superboy tagged him, and like Wonder Woman he slumped to the ground unconscious.

The sounds of the laser eyes clashing drew our attention and now that was a sound that I could identify, just great.

"I got his left."

"Right." I agreed easily and snapped the shadow claw to close the distance between me and the Man of Steel, Superboy picked up speed as he charged like a rhino, and we restrained Superman, magic seeping from my body and clashing with the man, all the while Superboy mustered all of his strength to futility hold him back for long. Mercifully long wasn't required as Kara tanked the last of Superman's heat ray, and tagged him in the neck.

Only when Superman followed suit with the other League members and he dropped to the ground, did we utter a word.

"Fucckkkkk me." I keeled over.

Connor rested his arms on his knees, "You're fighting Batson next time."

"That was fun." Kara looked sheepish when Connor and I gave her a flat look.

Savage turned tail alongside Klarion the Witch-Boy when we all appeared at the end of our fights. The Lord of Chaos was a foe many wouldn't wish to make an enemy of, yet I didn't care, I'd gladly get on his shit list if it meant I could cut out his tongue.

I was all about live and let live and all that noise, but fuck me do I hate the grating sound of his voice.

Soon enough after the bedlam died down the League woke up with their sense of being back in their control, and we debriefed them on the shit that went down, here's hoping they know a therapist other than Dinah because honestly, they would need it after this sint.

"Good job," Batman intoned as I walked away from the Kryptonians as they had their heart-to-heart, "why is Clark actually glaring at you?"

"I may have told him, I snitched on him to his ma about the shitty way he's been treating Connor."

Batman chuckled… still weird.

Well might as well, while he's in a 'good' mood, "I think I need a break, not for long but some time away would be great."

"This about Poison Ivy?" I rolled my eyes.

"Which bitch snitched on me?" He gave me a flat look at my wording but he gave them up, all three of them, "They'll pay for it." Eh, Bruce was going to find out anyhow considering the mess we left Gotham in but even still, the guys should expect some form of petty-bitch vengeance, "Yeah." I then motioned for him to get on with it.

Though he surprised me by placing a hand on my shoulder, he then opened his mouth but only to close it a moment later when he couldn't find the words. Soon enough he did speak but it thankfully wasn't about the supervillain, "What do you plan to do?"

I was scared to morph into my demon half, frightened that I'd cripple one of the League members at best, maybe i should do something useful with the time. "I think I'll go and find my mum."

He arched a brow, "Nyssa?"

"Nah Nyssa is with GCPD and," I winced, "probably wheelchair bound, I was talking about the demon who gave me my blade," Bruce opened his mouth but I cut him off, "shouldn't be hard, she's shacked up with Lucifer Morningstar somewhere on earth."

He walked away, rubbing his temples and muttering something about a 'problem child.'

"I'm telling Alfred." Superman looked victorious as he sent me a vicious grin, I looked over to the younger Kryptonians, only to see Connor quickly point at Kara, who just smirked when she met my gaze.

Yo, thanks for… what's with the pitchforks and torches folks?

Yeah, I get it, believe me, it sucked breaking up Ammon and Pam like that.

I mean honestly, I have/had two plans for this story, one where Ammon ended up as a suburban dad while Pam gave up the villain's life, to either do something in agriculture or… sell weed in a legal manner because her powers called for it.

Though I've gone with the more bombastic ending I have planned for this story, and it is a ways away, like not even close.

Why do I do this to myself?
