Note: Full Chapter Concept. Naruto X Fischl

He had never witnessed a storm of such immense magnitude in his entire life.

This was something new for him. From mighty gales of hurricanes against the northern Stormbearer Mountains, survived the deadly cold snaps of Dragonspine, scoured the scorching sands of the Desert of Hadramaveth, and ventured into the desolate plains of the Mare Jivari, the intensity of the storm surpassed any other he had seen.

He witnessed the aftermath of horrible floods in Fontaine, the wickedly cold blizzards of Snezhnaya, and the absolute ferocity of the thunderous storms of Inazuma when their Archon had lost her calm…

The devastation left upon the once serene Stormbearer Plains was staggering. It had left a cliff amongst the sea, a testament to the raw power of the storm. It was as if the legends were real, and he had stumbled upon the aftermath of their Archon reshaping the land to his whim.

But Anemo Archon was benevolent. Free spirited. Their Archon was not temperamental like the Archons of Inazuma and Fontaine, but he was not calm and authoritative like the Archons of Liyue and Snezhnaya. He believed in freedom and kept away from the affairs of his people, only choosing to live amongst them and enjoy the festivities.

Devastation of this magnitude was not in his character.

His knights patrolled the ruins of the plains, scouting for any traces of what happened or if anyone was caught in the storm. He prayed those who were caught within were safe, but he knew likely they may have perished. He was sure a few knights on patrol may have been lost in the ocean that consumed the now-collapsed Stormbearer Plains.

If they only knew what had caused what had happened. Perhaps they could have been ready… Evacuated…

Stopping as he reached the tip of the devastated cliffs that looked upon the ocean, the towering man's eyes shimmered. A figure sat upon the cliffside, looking upon the wreckage, a green and white cape fluttering in the gentle breeze. Shining green eyes gaze back into his eyes before the boyish figure laughed. "Hey, long time no see! Sorry for the mess…"

The towering man's eyes sharpened at the go-lucky attitude, causing the young figure to panic. Chuckling, yet holding something close to his chest, he expressed his anxiety. "Don't worry! Everyone is safe and sound. They're all recovering on that new coastline. Take a look."

Cold and calculated eyes glimmered with hope; he stepped to the pointed cliff's edge and looked down upon the ocean to see if what the boy-like figure had announced was true. He closed his eyes and let out a breath he had not been aware he had been holding before opening his gaze and looking down upon the comparatively small figure. There at least had been no casualties because of his actions. Thank the Archon…

Seeing the figure scrunch his face at him, he shook his head. "What happened?"

"A star fell upon Teyvat. Another Descender." The boy broke his contact and gazed downward at what he was clutching. The towering man's eyes flickered as he recognized what was within his grasp.

It was a newborn child.

"The Abyss nearly claimed him like it did his mother. I was only able to arrive to save him but by then… His storm had overtaken the coastline…" The young boy with gradient blue hair exhaled, smiling at the sleeping child in his grasp. "I calmed the storm, but it took quite a bit out of me… This child has the strength of a Sovereign… He may even be one reincarnated."

The towering man, rooted in place, gazed upon the child with reverence and a hint of fear. For the child to release such a storm…

His expression turned to a frown as he looked upon his Archon. "Isn't…"

"No," Barbatos responded, shaking his head. "Dvalin is the child of the previous Sovereign. Blessed with some of his power, it is understandable why you would think that. …I am confident this child bears the soul of the previous Sovereign… And with his own familiar, who is equally as powerful, too? Interesting. What kind of world were you from, child?"

Still processing the information his Archon was freely speaking of, his composure shattered as he felt the child thrust into his arms, forcing him to cradle him. "Here you go! I'm off now! He's your responsibility!"

"Lord Barbatos!" He repressed his deep voice, wincing at the movement in his arms. He did not want to startle the child. He watched the Archon turn away, calling out to him to stop. "As honored as I am that you would give this responsibility to me… Shouldn't this responsibility be yours? "

"I have always trusted the ruling Grand Master and the Knights to keep Mondstadt's freedom safe and sound. Over centuries since Venessa ascended to Celestia, that faith has been well placed." Barbatos responded before turning back and modestly smiling at the current Grand Master. "I have complete faith in you, Varka, and my people… No… His people. This land belongs to him…"

"It's his to rule. I genuinely believe you will help guide him into a majestic and just leader. I know you will." Barbatos finished as he hovered in the air with his power, waving as he flew off into the distance.

Varka was left speechless, watching the Anemo Archon lift himself into the air with an Anemo vortex and fade from his vision. A weak cry snapped him from his thought, and his deep gaze looked at the child. Staring into ocean swells of his eyes, he softly chuckled and shook his head. Caring for a child, and one of this magnitude, would not be easy.

But he met every challenge head-on, which he would not stand down now. If this child were to be the true ruler of Mondstadt, he would not fail him. He would guide him into the new age… A golden age of freedom.

"Grand Master Varka." A familiar voice resonated behind him, drawing his attention to an elven with light blonde hair. "I thought I sensed another presence over here… A child?" Exhaling, seeing the woman squint at the child, analyzing him thoroughly, her gaze shot back up toward Varka with wide eyes. "This child… Is a…"

"He is, Alice. There is much to explain. I will do so when we arrive back in Mondstadt with everyone Lord Barbatos has graciously saved." Varka nodded at her assessment, unsurprised by how quickly she could recognize what he was. Given her magical prowess and knowledge of this world and others, she, of all people, would be able to identify what he was.

"I see…" Alice's lips quivered as she tilted her head at the young child. She then scowled, moving to wipe a smudge from the whisker marks on his cheek before she stopped. Her eyes flickered, and she concentrated on the smear. "What is this? It seems to be written in blood… Wait, I know this language."

"What does it say?" Varka immediately asked, gazing down to see the markings Alice had noticed, grimacing, remembering that the Abyss had swallowed the boy's mother.

"It's a name. Likely his… Give me a moment. It has been a while since I've visited a world that uses such a language." Alice scrunched her brow and concentrated.

It only took a moment, but when she was finished, she smiled and wiped the smudge away to clean the blood. "Welcome to Teyvat, Naruto…"

"A new world of adventures waits for you."

(Twelve Years Later)

"Grand Master Varka!"

With a deep sigh and lifting his mighty head from the numerous reports on his desk, Varka blankly stared at the knight who had entered his office and interrupted him. He had a feeling what it was about. It wouldn't surprise him if it were. He was a free spirit and embodied the wind just like their Archon.

"What is it now?" Varka gruffly expressed, looking down upon his knight despite sitting before him.

The Knight flinched at the tone taken with him by the Grand Master. Quickly recovering, he started to prattle. "It's Lord Uzumaki again! He's! He's…"

"And who was assigned to watch him?" Varka stared at the knight flatly, repressing his internal groan from becoming external. He scowled when he noticed the man wince and realized it was he who was assigned the task. "Naruto is as wild and free as the wind. He embodies the freedom we so cherish… Maybe a little too much so… He does as he wishes, and if you are not strong enough to earn his respect, he will not obey orders he thinks are beneath him."

"I'm sorry for my ineptitude! It will not happen again!" The knight bowed and groveled for forgiveness. Varka simply sighed and shook his head. He had a short order of knights that Naruto respected and would listen to, so he wasn't surprised by this. Alice was out on research, and Lisa was busy with the library and handling records. And if he hadn't sent the Cavalry Captain and his second in command on a mission, they would have been prime candidates…

"But Grand Master…" The knight rose from his groveling, wincing. "You may want to look at how he defiled Lord Barbatos' statue."

Varka blinked before groaning as he stood up. What could he have done this time?

"Oh." Varka stood in front of the winged statue of Lord Barbatos, mouth agape in wonder as a crowd gathered and openly gawked at the sight.

Painted graffiti littered the statue in various colors. Orange was the predominant color, and the swirls on Barabtos cheeks made it look like he was flushed…

He had done his best to make it look like Barbatos was drunk…

"Seems accurate enough." Varka muffled his amused chuckle and smiled before turning to his knight. "Well, he was in your care, was he not?"

"Yes, sir!" The knight saluted before grimacing. "Words cannot describe my failure for allowing such an act to occur on my watch! I will assign…"

"Well, get to cleaning," Varka ordered, turning his attention and gazing upon the statue for a moment longer, hiding a smile. Then, with a stout demeanor, he faced his knight and scolded him, "his actions reflect upon your own, so take it upon yourself to wash your mistakes clean. It doesn't take much for him to respect someone, and it is easily lost. Maybe after you are finished, you will understand the importance of respecting our Sovereign."

Without another word, Varka turned from the knight, horrified at the mess he would have to clean. If only he had his khamera. This was a picture he would like to be saved…

"Oh no… Naruto…" A young lady's voice resonated in embarrassment.

"Ah, Jean. Diluc." Varka swiveled and faced two young, promising knights as they stood openly staring at the defiled statue of Lord Barbatos. "It is fortitudinous that you have arrived. You may give me your report later…"

A crack of thunder interrupted his words. Strong wind gales began to swirl into vortexes as the blue skies overhead were clouded by tumultuous storm clouds. Eyes shimmering, Varka knew what the cause was. His gaze snapped to his two knights, knowing what must be done. "I need you both to track and find the Anemo Sovereign now!"

"Find out what has upset him and handle the issue."

"Oh, that was so funny!"

Naruto's eyes gleefully glistened with laughter in his voice, wearing an orange free-flowing garb adorned with the symbol of the Knights of Favonius on his chest. His hands were pocketed into white pants with orange braces around his knees; Naruto whistled as he walked through the back streets of Mondstadt.

Didn't have to worry about dealing with too many residents, knights, or nuns today. Most were focused on the aftermath of giving an accurate portrayal of Venti. Sure, someone would likely come and get him soon enough, but he liked his alone time… And when the Knights assigned jerks like that to him, he wanted to ensure they knew just who was in charge.

Always could make them bow to our every whim.

"Mah, that's what a dictator would do, Kurama." Naruto scrunched his face before shaking his head, enjoying the light breeze as he strode forward, turning onto the main street and toward the fountain. "The people still aren't over the tumultuous rule of the Lawerence clan. They still belittle them even though that was centuries ago… That one girl always looks so sad."

Oh, is my boy looking at a mortal bride? And one from that clan of despits? You know, if you pluck their tender flower from them…

"Kurama, quit it!" Naruto flushed and feverishly shook his head. Sighing, he lightly punted a stone. "It has nothing to do with that… Just noticed she seemed lonely…"

You do have a thing for the sullen ones…

"Gah! Stop making this about who I like!" Naruto ruffled his hair in annoyance, shrinking as the few store owners looked at him oddly. "Right… Forgot I was talking aloud…"

Hehe… Gotcha.

"Shut it, fuzzball." Naruto scowled, ignoring the raucous laughter that came from within.

Exhaling, looking upon the deep blue sky above as he walked, his expression brightened. Perhaps a flight through the clouds was in order. It was always so relaxing…

"Stop it!"

"Stop being so strange!"

"Yeah, no one likes you!"

"Oh, what's this?"

"No! Please give it back!"

Stopping on a dime, Naruto's eyes dilated, and the cerulean hues shifted to a glowing emerald. Focusing on his surroundings, carefully listening to the sounds, Naruto snarled. Sounded like someone was in trouble.

It was simple to track down the source of the sound. The vibrations carried through the wind and located it without pause.

A young girl with blonde pigtails was grounded onto her scuffed knees, her face stricken with tears. Several other children her age stood around her, one holding a book she seemed to be pleading for, scanning over it in disgust. "Nah, think I'll toss this trash into the fountain."

"Yeah! Maybe she'll stop acting so weird if we get rid of it!" Another of the children taunted, eyes turning toward the fountain.

"No, please!" The girl vigorously shook her head, trying to tackle the lead bully, who began to walk away. "I have to turn it back in today!"

Seeing her easily be shoved aside as the kid laughed back at her ignited a fierce storm within. Naruto's eyes fully shone with his might. The kids all flinched as clouds darkened the city. Thunder cracked, and they were all blown onto the ground as the wind rapidly picked up.

All eyes were drawn onto Naruto as he stepped before them, his gaze focused on the pack of kids' leader, the wind swirling as he began to release a fraction of the Anemo pressure within his being. "Who do you think you are? This is my city… My domain. You stand before your Sovereign yet act as such?"

A flash of lightning and a roar of thunder caused the kids to panic and trip over themselves as he stepped between them and the pigtailed girl. But the wind kept knocking them back to the ground as he snarled and held out his hand. All the children were picked up and tossed upward, at least a story into the air by the gale he summoned. As Naruto watched them tumble in the sky with amusement, his gaze softened after a few moments.

His storm weakened as he brought the children down safely. The sun shone as the storm parted. But his now cerulean eyes burned into each of the children as he knelt, picking up the book freed from their clutches. "Know this… I despise people like you. If you stay on the course you are… You will not be welcomed in my domain."

"Get out of here," Naruto ordered and, with a burst of Anemo, sent the kids tumbling again.

They couldn't scramble away fast enough for his liking. But they ran with their tails tucked between their legs nonetheless.

He let out a deep sigh, and his eyes landed on the girl who had been the target of their bullying. He had purposely kept her in a shielded air pocket to protect her from his gales, but that didn't mean she wasn't frightened by his acts. Wincing, he offered his hand toward her, holding out the book they had taken from her. "I'm sorry they acted that way… Are you okay?"

Dull green eyes shimmered, the tears drying on her cheeks. Her gaze brightened as she looked up at Naruto, gently taking the book from him. She clutched it into her chest and softly smiled. "Are you… A lord of Nachtraben?"

"The what now?" Naruto tilted his head in confusion before shaking his head. "Nah. I'm Naruto. Anemo Sovereign of Mondstadt and ruler of this domain. Sorry those kids were picking on you… Kids are dumb anyways."

And you are so mature yourself. Tell me, what did you just do before this?

'Kurama, by my name, shut up!' Naruto internally roared as he externally twitched at his familiar's taunt. Sometimes he could be a pain in his ass!

Green eyes flickered momentarily, startled by this revelation. Naruto leaned back, watching as she scrambled to her feet, her eyes sparkling so vividly it took him by surprise. "Apologies, my lord! I, Fischl, Prinzessin der Verurteilung, Sovereign of Immernachtreich am in your debt! I thought you were from the Nachtraben, coming to your Prinzessin's aid to return me to thy throne!"

Blinking several times, taking a few more moments to absorb what she had said, Naruto tilted his head owlishly at Fischl, his lips pursed. "Um… Okay. Well, as long as you are good…"

"I am more than good! How sublime that one such as divine as you has deigned to delight me with an audience! I have long awaited such an honor so that we may discuss pleasantries between omniscient beings like ourselves!" Fischl's eyes gleamed so brilliantly that it was almost off-putting for Naruto.

Kid… Something may be wrong with this one.

'Nah… Think she is roleplaying. I think I heard rumors about this girl.' Naruto shook his head, understanding Kurama's worry, examining the star-struck girl before him. 'I remember reading a book to Klee with this character when Alice left her in my care. Think I remember a bit of the character…'

Hearing Kurama's gruff grunt, Naruto softly beamed at Fischl. "Well, my princess, your safety in my realm is paramount! I cannot allow such things to stand, and they will be acted upon shortly! Come, I heard you were heading to the library, yes? Allow me to escort you through my realm! Can't have another incident as such!"

"Oh, glorious day! I would like nothing more than to reside in the presence of Your Excellency!" Fischl returned the beam before gasping as she patted the dirt from her opulent dress. "Forgive me for thy appearance! Those scoundrels ruined my attire!"

"Well then, we must get it replaced at once!" Naruto chirped, enjoying the role he was playing. "A Princess should only have the best! I'll have a tailor stitch the seams of your dress at once! Perhaps forge you a new one in your honor, mein Prinzessin."

Startled by his response, Fischl shrunk into herself in embarrassment. "Oh, I… Um… Couldn't possibly take such a…"

"Naruto!" A voice Naruto recognized, his gaze turning to see two familiar individuals rushing to his side.

He winced, realizing his storm had alerted everyone and that they would be looking for him. That was gonna come back and bite him… Didn't want to see Grand Master Varka upset with him again…

But playing into his role, he grinned at their arrival and turned his attention back to Fischl. "Ah, my servants are here! Come, let's us be off, mein Prinzessin. We have much to do, after all!"

Fischl froze in horror as the two young Knights of Favonius came to the side of their Sovereign. Her eyes flickered in horror at what she had done. There was no going back now…

'Amy, you fool! What have I done?!'
